Complete lack of technical competence and accountability. I brought my car in and they replaced the battery, but only one day later, I was stranded and the car wouldn't start. The battery signal stayed on, meaning they replaced a part I likely didn't need without actually fixing the charging system. When I told them the issue persisted, they had the nerve to try and charge me more fees to "find the real issue." When I questioned the repair and asked to see the battery, it had "conveniently" disappeared. It's clear they are just guessing with my money and leaving me stranded in the process. Called yesterday, explained my concerns to Clayton who answered the phone. He made an appointment for me today. I arrived on time and was greeted kindly, and professionally by Clayton. My vehicle information was in their system. Clayton contacted my warranty company, and my car was in the bay right away. Big Plus I was able to do my state inspection there. This is definitely going to be my go to for everything. The customer service is just above and beyond. Kicking myself for going to Firestone. My Bridgestone tires wore out in under 20K miles and they're rated for 60K and Bridgestone required all warranty work / replacements to be done through Firestone. I ended up only saving about $150 over just going to Discount Tire Auto buying without any prorated warranty coverage, and what I saved in $ I paid for dearly with my time! It took 3 back and forth phone calls and 2 in person visits to get them to "accept" / honor my tires within the Bridgestone warranty. Then when I finally got with them for the replacement it took 2.5 hours to install and balance TWO tires even with a prescheduled appointment. Then I had to come back because the truck started shaking driving anything over 60 mph on the road and it never shook before them touching my vehicle. I wasted another 2 hours having them "fix" it with yet another appointment that apparently they weren't prepared for. I tried to understand what was the cause of the issue the first time and they couldn't utter any reason. My guess is incompetence. I also found out they didn't even have my VIN # recorded properly and it was referencing a 2021 Ram truck instead of my 2023 Ram truck. Unreal. This place is amateur hour. The only thing possibly more infuriating to me than the time I wasted here is dealing with the little napoleon guys at the front that proceeded to call me boss and chief on phone calls and in person. I called on Saturday at 0700 to get my Tahoe in for a tire replacement due to hitting a bad spot on the road. Firestone said I could drop it off but it would be there all day since they were booked up. They also offered to make an appointment for Monday at noon and it would take 30 minutes. So I made an appointment. Today, after three hours of being there, the Tahoe is finally done. However, I do recognize they were shorthanded but should have just recommended the Tahoe be dropped off rather than wait. Three hours is an absurd time to wait for a 30 minute tire change. Firestone also replaced a "broken" TPMS but the service desk person said Firestone couldn't program it because the "dealer has to do it". THEN when walking out a technician open the sliding glass door said to go to another Firestone and they could do it. WHAT! Come to find out there calibrator was broken... "the machine crashed", not that they couldn't do it. The service desk person was confused or just extremely incompetent. So all along, just like the last 6 years of using Firestone for my tires, Firestone does have the ability to replace TPMS on my Tahoe and calibrate it. I am beyond frustrated with the employee who works at the service desk. I have used Firestone for over the last six years for tire service and will continue to. BUT I have NEVER had an issue with any Firestone. Being on active duty I've used Firestones all over the country. This is the first time I've had to deal with an incompetent Firestone employee. Also come to find out I called the wrong Firestone. Meaning I intended to call another location. I normally use the one off E Whitestone BLVD. HUGE MISTAKE on my part. I've never had a problem with them. In fact, they have exceeded my expectations multiple times. I am beyond frustrated with the experience today but in no way does it reflect other Firestones. UPDATE: so this is the TPMS that was damaged. QUESTION... then why was my brass valve stem cap no damaged? Firestone I really need answers and the manager is out for a week. read more

From the moment I walked in the staff was friendly and helpful! Luke helped check me in and made sure the tires were the right ones I ordered and that they would drive right on my jeep. Then Jason the tech went out of his way to help me and checked on all the little things that might be giving me the notorious "death wobble!" He tightened up everything on my front end to hopefully help with it, and I am so grateful for the great service he provided! Overall the service was superb and the pricing was just as good! They also offer military discount which is a huge deal for me and my husband when we go places because you would be surprised how many places don't! Novel-length review time.... My family has used Firestone since ~1987. Over all those years, we've had hiccups along the way at various locations, which is to be expected. Today however, blew my mind. Enough so that we are now very likely not return to any location, most certainly never this particular franchised one. We recently purchased a new vehicle, and got a separate set of wheels for it. Made an online appt to have our stock Contis on the new car swapped over to the new wheels, mount/balance. Selected the Balance option, as well as the Other Services option where you can free-text what work needs to be done. Selected a slot 8 days away where I could take a half day off work to get it knocked out. Quick and easy tire swap. (New wheels already had TMPS installed, so literally a demount, mount and balance). After receiving our confirmation email, I called and spoke with a woman who confirmed the estimate price for me for the work we had put down. Fast forward a week, (and a second email confirmation), and I show up at 0740 this morning for my 0800 appt. Only other customer left after dropping off his truck, just myself and the male employee/manager. I go to check in, and he pulls up the appt. He immediately says, "We're not going to be able to get you in today, might be able to do sometime next week". Excuse me?!? During a 10 min back & forth, he first blames 'corporate', stating the online appt system is horrible and they can't control how many they get so they get overbooked. (Umm, if that were true, slots wouldn't be blocked out). I asked if they review the schedule daily, and he says yes. Well, that should negate overbooks and you'd be able to call before to reschedule even if what he claimed was true. He decides to go a different route and blames me for selecting 'Balance", and that they also have to demount and remount the tires, and that's "a lot" of time consuming work. After I point out the 'Other' option, and the freetext which clearly describes what was to be done, and being very clear the woman I spoke with also knew, and he literally just told me they review online appts made, he said if I leave it all day long, they can 'probably' get to it..... I call to to try and get a ride, and during my convo on the phone, (away from the manager and with no other customers in the store), I explain to my spouse something to the effect of, "...yes, I know, but apparently their online system is F'd up, but they said if we leave it all day....". I didn't even finish my sentence, and I am literally being yelled at. I'm told, "Get out of my store right now, I won't have that type of disrespect". While still on the phone, flabbergasted, I try to respond, as he gets louder stating, "There is nothing wrong with our system, you need to leave right now!". I get not everyone is comfortable with language, and that's on me after several decades in an occupation where it's used routinely. But when a manager freaks out and becomes argumentative, (or rather, more so than he already was), when it wasn't directed to them, and to overreact to that extent, there's obviously something else going on. I suspect it was his excuse to get me out of there so they didn't have to do the minor work order. Also likely one of many reasons the brand's reputation has diminished the last decade with treatment like that. Considering I've survived 4+ decades without any major altercation with any business of any service, I guess I can check it off my list now? I do know I felt very uncomfortable, and as mentioned above, we'll be taking our vehicles elsewhere, there are plenty of competitors both franchised and mom & pops. I'm sure they won't miss their cut of our CFNA account that we always use, since they're so busy. /sarcasm. (Went literally a few blocks north of them to a competitor, and despite the long line of folks, was still in and out in under 2 hours. And we opened an account with them while there. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Made an appointment at noon for an alignment that they screwed up originally. After 1.5 hours of waiting I complained to the manager that they have yet to start working on my truck. The manager said he was going to go see what the issue was and walked into the shop.. 3 minutes later walked back in and started helping a new customer completely ignoring me until I spoke up once again and he stood there like a deer in the headlights. I went to this Firestone in need of new tires and an alignment which we were aware of. They also told me my ball joints are in terrible condition and need to all be replaced. We were heading out of town so scheduled an appointment for have them replaced when we returned. When we got to our destination my brother-in-law said that he would just go ahead and replace our ball joints since he owns his own auto repair shop. When he inspected our car before replacing the ball joints he was shocked and angry to discover there was absolutely NOTHING WRONG with our ball joints. This location of Firestone tried to charge us just under 1k for new joint that DID NOT need to be replaced!! read more

I previously rated this store highly, but after my service experience today, I need to revise this to a DO NOT VISIT. I was quoted that I accepted and then that quote was ignored. I got NO Military Discount and my invoice was several hundred dollars MORE than my original quote. Some minor changes were made, but I feel that this was a Bait and Switch, which is illegal. Store manager Jason got VERY aggressive with me when I questioned the total. Swore at me numerous times and appeared to be trying to provoke a physical confrontation with me. I will remain a Firestone customer, but definitely NOT at the Leander TX location. I also got a major door ding in my vehicle door that was not there when I left the vehicle for service. I HIGHLY recommend a different location if you want to use Firestone. Store Manager Jason, IMHO, is not trustworthy, based on my recent visit. He also smelled of alcohol, or something else like it, while he was getting in my face and cussing at me. His Boss, Trey Good also refused to rectify the billing controversy. I have a company car that I drive, and this Firestone was the closest location to my house that would accept e-coupons for the company that pays for our maintenance. So glad I came! The service was great, the lobby was clean, and I was in and out of there a lot quicker than anticipated. All you can ask for when getting work done on your vehicle. TLDR: good mechanic team but customer service is lacking Ordered some Bridgestone tires from TireRack and got them delivered to this location for installation. Called them and scheduled an appointment. On the day of installation, called them to confirm and they could not find my appointment. Oh boy! The man on the phone was nice and apologetic and got me another appointment Turned up at the location and I was luckier this time. But, they would not accept the $60 quote and demanded $120. Fine, did not want to waste any more of my time. The front desk guy also was trying to sell a wheel alignment for $200, I was not interested and he did NOT sound happy at all. Asked him to inspect the condition of brake pads but that fell on deaf ears. He was only interested in cross selling. In the end the tire replacements were done well with no complaints at all. So they do seem to have a good set of mechanics but the front desk needs a LOT of improvement. It would be a much better experience for customers if they tried to listen to customers instead of just trying to cross sell/demand more cash read more

Dropped in on Friday to see about getting 4 new tires. They didn't have the ones we wanted in stock, and we knew that we'd have to have to wait on the car instead of leaving it, so we made an appointment for later the next week. We stressed that we would not be able to leave it, so we got one of the first appointments of the day. Appt time comes and we are early. The man at the counter tells us right off that he has no idea how long it will be. We wait. 40 min later, the car still hasn't been pulled into the bay. We ask how long, and they go pull the car in. 2 hrs later, the tires are installed. They checked all systems, fluids, measured brake pads, etc. Some up sell was offered, but certainly not pushed when we declined. They accepted an Internet coupon without hesitation. Customer service was polite, but the wait time was entirely too long. We got a great deal on four top of the line tires, so I supposed I can overlook it this time. read more

Originally, we took our car to a dealership, what was suppose to take 2 hours, took two days and they STILL had not gotten to it. I called Firestone and explained my issue, and they were so polite and understanding, and told me to come in and they will take care of me. Everyone was so friendly. Nate was the one who helped me out and I loved how he took his time, made me feel safe and a priority. After my Alignment he sat down next to me and informed me I needed to buy new tires and explained the safety issue of driving them in the condition they were in, he did it without pressure. I did not feel forced to buy anything or upgrade anything, but I was informed of the upgrades(BTW $190 for a lifetime alignment is a steal if you live on a dirt road). I was kept in the loop on everything going on. Nate bought lunch for his associates and even offered to buy me Whataburger as well. I thought that was very thoughtful. He even made sure to check on me, as I was there for a few hours(I was getting a alignment and my tires were on the way). My Car was ready and waiting. When I got into it, my car did not smell(which it did when I picked it up from the dealership). I felt so at ease and taken care of. Yes it was more pricey than discount, but the service is what will keep me coming back to this location. Nate is exceptional at customer service. read more

These guys did a great job with my car, and they did have coupons on their website that they honored, so a full synthetic oil change was about $10-$15 less than a normal place. The customer service there is decent. They seem pretty consistently rushed and under pressure because they have been slammed every time I've been there with a pretty steady stream of people coming in every 10 or so minutes and the phone ringing pretty consistently. In short, don't expect a same day service because these guys are very busy, and be prepared to make an appointment for a few days later or be willing to drop your car off. Overall, I would come back here, but I would definitely make sure to call to make an appointment. I never thought I could give an auto repair place 5 stars since giving 5 stars in general requires extraordinaire service in some way. I can say this Firestone location in Leander did that. First - the staff is so nice and honest. They aren't "pushy" on their additional recommendations either. During the hour I was there for oil change, tire balancing & rotation, filter swap outs I got to over hear a lot of conversations happening at the counter. I know I am not "special" but these guys made each person entering the joint feel "special & welcomed" without dollar signs in their eyes. It was done so smoothly that even those just walking in for a quote seemed torn on whether to leave or stay. One guy seemed a little torn but stayed. I heard the guy later talking to (convincing) his wife over the phone that he found the place to get the work done and to trust his judgement. Others came in and had very detailed conversations to troubleshoot problems and were able to offer advice without having to pull the car in. It's hard to explain but the dynamics of the staff with overall customer engagement just drew me in feeling all warm and fuzzy - yes, I said warm and fuzzy in the same review with an auto care place! I will definitely go back for ongoing maintenance. They are doing it right in this industry and others can learn from them. read more

I spoke with Johnny and he immediately fot my info, and we went outaide to check my tires. The flat one wasnt salvageble and the others needed to be replaced. He said it wouldnt be ready til the next morning which I was ok with. To my surprise, they were able to get it complete around 630p that same day. I couldnt be happier. Trustworthy!!! I had a screw in my tire and I needed it patched. I had taken my car to Goodyear Leander first, because they said they patch for free. They told me that there was a slow leak and it was unrepairable, and lied about seeing bubbles because they never even took the screw out. They quoted me $230 for a new tire. They tried to scam me. So I took it to Firestone for a second opinion. They took the screw out and discovered that the screw didn't puncture my tire and I didn't have a leak! I walked out the door with my same tire and not spending a dime! They even filled my tires up with air for me, since they were just low due to cold weather. I was SO grateful for their honesty and being thorough. I will highly recommend them to everyone I see and truly grateful that they are an honest and reputable company that I can trust!
