First time writing a review that I can remember. After having an appointment canceled on me by a different store under the same owner ship, I took my vehicle here after a rep I was talking to online confirmed they had an appointment for me today and would get the issue resolved. Dropped my truck off at about 2 pm for a simple tire repair. I was told my truck would be ready between 430-5. At 415 i received a call stating that they would not be getting to my truck and offered no resolution. Will not spend a penny here. read more

We took our car here because our back brakes were grinding. We live in Illinois however we have a summer home in adams. We didn't want to take a chance driving home with bad brakes. This Firestone overschedules appointments and wastes their customers' time. I scheduled just an oil change at 1pm and they didn't even look at my car for three hours. I finally left what should be a 20 minute service at 4:45 wasting my entire afternoon. The customer service guy was nice, at least. read more

In the past few years, this place has collapsed. The management has become truly awful and incapable of handling even basic situations. Here's my story. My left brake light failed in August. According to them, in melted. Then a month later, my right brake light suffered the same exact behavior. I asked them why they didn't catch this. Apparently, I must be some super genius for thinking that the same failure in the same part on the other side of the car could possibly be related. After all, it's the same car. It's the same condition. And I, with my apparently genius level intellect, can understand that things happen for a reason and things don't just break. According to them, it's absurd. Why would you ever look at it? I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe coincidences happen, and I would feel pretty foolish of accusing them of incompetence if I was wrong. Well, I feel really foolish, because since then they got nothing right. First off, it takes them until the end of the day on Monday to look at my car. You know you screwed up. The least you could do is try to move fast. And then I have to call to find out what's going on. It takes minutes for someone to pick up. And then they tell me that it will take until next Monday for the part to come in. I ask if I can get expedited shipping, since it's cheaper than renting a car. They said they would call back if they couldn't get it. They didn't call back. I'm a total moron, so I believe that they actually did something right for a change. No. The part gets delivered on Friday. Except, the dealer didn't send them the right part. It will be 2-3 more business days. It took them until the end of the day to call me. The service line told me they got the part early in the morning on Friday. What's worse, the voice message they left me said "I have good news and bad news. The good news is we got your delivery. The bad news is they delivered the wrong part." Then there's no good news! They literally had one job, which was to get you the right part. And they didn't do it. And you didn't light a fire under them to get them to move heaven and earth. At no point has any accountability been taken. At no point have they owned up to their failures. Even if the dealer sent you the wrong part, it is YOUR store that is using THEM. To the customer, you are the person that they are dealing with. They screw up, you take the hit, and you work it out with the dealer to make it right. They didn't offer me a discount. They didn't offer me anything. They're happy to have me pay for a car rental for a few more days. They're happy to have me pay for another repair when they screwed up the first time around. I used to use these guys regularly for regular maintenance on my car. Now, I wouldn't trust them to open a door without injuring themselves. They are unreliable, and I will be happy to pay so that I will never have to deal with them again. read more

I scheduled an online appointment for a tire change. I arrived and was told that it would take between 1 to 1.5 hours. I left 3 hours later - with no explanation as to why. I was told that service would be better at the tires plus store down the street. The manager, Maria, is a horrible manager. She did not speak with me when I came up to the counter and asked why it was taking so long - she just sat in her office. Did Maria go speak with or help the tech that was working on my vehicle to get it done quicker - NO. If I could rate them negative stars, I would. I will not be going back to firestone. read more

We found them to be very helpful and professional. We were driving through town and they were very busy but because we were desperate, they took us in but were also very upfront on their limitations because of other appointments. One of the technicians, Jon, was assigned to help us. He quickly assessed the problem and recommended a solution. This worked well and we were on our way. Big kudos to him. They handled this extremely well and it inspired confidence in their business. I had a 8:00 AM appointment this morning for a tire rotation and I was there 5 minutes early. Car sat until 8:37 when I went up to the counter to let them know I had another appointment at 9:15 that I had to get to and asked when they would get to my car. Got on it right away and it was done by 9. What's the point of making an appointment if they are not going to honor it. So frustrating. Update 1/7/2023: As per the review response from Firestone, I sent an email to the address as stated on December 27th. I received a quick email response that my request has been accepted and they gave me a request number. They stated that someone would call me within two business days to discuss my concerns. I received a call at 6:50 AM two days later. I obviously missed the call that early in the morning and the person did not leave a message. No other contact was attempted by them. On January 2nd, I responded to the email with this information and they emailed back saying that they sent the request up to the next level of management and I would be contacted within another two days. Crickets. No voice mail or missed calls. I am done with them. When they worked on my car, they did good work, but when there's problems and you have to work with customer service, they are the worst. I will be canceling my Firestone credit card today and looking for somewhere else to service my 5 vehicles. read more

The front end staff and the mechanics are so nice and friendly. The work they have done has been perfect and they never push me into services I do not need. I have not taken my 2002 to anyone else, and have nothing but positive things to say! Highly recommended! read more

All the times I've been here and I haven't reviewed it yet? I do a lot of my own auto "service" when I can, and I'll farm out the bigger jobs that I'm unable to do. Firestone isn't usually where I go as they can be a little overpriced. However, I'm not rating them on that criteria. They are on my short-list for batteries and tires. I think I've purchased all my batteries here - even when doing work for family members. Why? They carry Interstate brand, which I favor. Their pricing is fair and they usually have coupons or price match if you can find a better deal. Same thing for tires - they carry a different selection than other places, so they should at least be in your "shop around" list. The folks working up front have always been honest and friendly with me (I try to start by being honest and friendly towards them!). read more

Had a horrible experience with them years ago, so I vowed not to use them anymore. Ended up in a pinch and needed new tires so I figured I would give them another shot. The tires I reserved (which they said they had) were not at the store when I arrives. Told them I needed tires before I left town for business (driving), another employee came and rectified their first issues, so I thought we were done. As I waited for my ride the first employee (which didn't see I was still in the store) proceeded to mock me. Terrible terrible place do not give these people your money if you can help it. read more

Contrary to the negative reviews below, I thought the Firestone employees were very professional. They didn't act condescendingly even though I am a female with very limited car knowledge. I made an appointment for a full vehicle check up, dropped off my car and was able to pick it up 1.5 hours later. They gave a me a pretty detailed list of everything that I needed to have done (routine maintenance and also things they discovered during the checkup), but I was not pressured at all to pay for any of the services. I am planning on comparing their prices to a few other places before a decide on one place for all the fixes. The checkup cost me a total of $10+change, including tire maintenance at no additional charge, which is really convenient. It helps that the Firestone is in a shopping plaza - you can kill time by shopping/eating while you are waiting for your car. (: read more

I went to have my oil changed and tire rotation. Made an appointment for 2 and still takes 1 and half hours. Came back paid for both. What they did not know is that I marked my tires to see if in fact they did rotate the tires. The markings were not moved. They made me pay and told me they rotated them and they did not. They lied to me about the front suspension, charged me over $800 to replace them, which actually does not need to be replaced at all. What's worse is after the work my wheels start to be off alignment. They refused to fix it and claimed my brakes are stuck into the wheels, and wanted another $700 to fix. My wife and I questioned about this. 1. How could they miss brakes issue when they do the front suspension work? And only bring it up now? 2. Why my wheels are not off alignment before the the suspension work? They have really bad attitude when they could not answer these. I went to West town Monona tire and let them take a look, they fix the alignment easily without ever mentioning my brake stuck in issue. I would urge everyone not to go to Firestone and try to avoid any national tire shop chains as well. A local shop is a much better choice at least in basic tire work. read more

Came to the shop to get tire repaired which they did, and they told me that there was only one puncture that was caused by a hunk of metal. The morning after, the tire was down 5 PSI so I took it to another shop to get repaired and they told me that there were multiple punctures besides the one patched at firestone (also leaking) as well as a NAIL in the sidewall which should have never been repaired, to begin with as it directly goes against their repair policy. I called them to ask for a refund, which they agreed to IF I went and brought them a receipt from Costco which I did. All of this, just to have the manager tell me that they are not willing to refund and that apparently the other debris/punctures were caused within the last 24 hours since I was there (possible, but really man?). Overall, started off as a good experience. Ended a terrible one. Needs better customer service from the management. Seriously. read more

The first time I came in here, they gave me a good tire at a fair price and didn't take too long despite the fact that they were busy and I walked in at the last minute. Pleased with my first experience, I decided I'd come here the next time I needed a tire replaced. Fast-forward one month. I come in expecting the same thing as last time, only this time I have an appointment. They start off by telling me that the last tire I got was "a promotion that ended last month," and that they intend to charge me $15 more for a cheaper tire. I should have walked out the moment they suggested this, because what followed was your classic auto-shop screwing. They tell me it'll be about an hour to get the new tire on, despite my appointment. If you gave me 20 minutes with the equipment they have, I could have put 4 new tires on in that time. An hour later they call me back saying they need to rotate the tires, and that'll take ANOTHER hour. They persist on calling me back several to remind me how my car isn't finished, but that they would love to sell me more services that my car doesn't need. I finally return two and half hours later to find my car sitting in their driveway looking like it wasn't fixed at all. The "new" tire has bloated spots that are eager to blow out at any minute, my special valve caps which check the tire pressure for me have been stolen, and the whole car looks unbalanced. That last point is crucial, since THEIR POOR WORKMANSHIP COULD HAVE KILLED ME. I checked the tightness on the bolts a few days later and found that they were about one pothole away from sending the front driver-side tire from flying right off my car and flipping it in what would have been a spectacularly bloody end to my life. I didn't even need a tire jack to confirm that every single bolt was loose, along with several more on all the other tires. Their tire is barely a month old and it already looks like it's nearing its death. And they must have known this, because they refused to give me a warranty on the tire despite doing so on the last one. Fortunately, they offer me "free checkups"! Don't worry about the checkups. I wouldn't go here again, although the staff was seemingly "nice" I don't know if they know what they are doing in the back. Went in to get my headlight bulbs replaced, they forgot to replace two screws that hold the entire headlight assembly in place ( luckily I noticed right after it was done), and now my headlights are all askew, so they either forgot to adjust them or didn't know how. I'd do it myself if I could, but then again, I don't work at a car service center. read more

I got a diagnosis, paid $900 bucks to have my car healed, and nothing changed. I called Firestone and asked for another appointment, but they were booked for the week. When I finally got in, they ran another diagnostic test. I asked the logical question, "Why is my car having the exact same problems that it was having before you fixed it?" I've been here a few times in the past and it was not the best experiences of my life. Apparently they have had some management and employee changes and the service has gotten much better. Manager tells you one thing then does another. When I confronted him on not living up to his word he tried to argue like an immature child with me. After shutting that down I expressed my frustration with his customer service and integrity, again he came back with sometime totally irrelevant. I finally said, I don't like people that are dishonest with me to which I finally got no response. It was a fleet vehicle and I feel he took advantage of knowing he could bill whatever he wanted. As a female, the male service clerk was condescending and tried to rip me off, I've continuously have had problems here. They put tires on my car and the next day it broke down. I took it to a trusted mechanic and they said new tires never should have been put on this car because the frame is so rusted it's about to crack in half. I had my brakes serviced at a firestone in IL yesterday. They did a horrible job on top of horrible service. Halfway through WI there was a burning smell coming from the new brakes. The store in IL told me it would be fine. Not wanting to risk the lives of my family, I called this Firestone. They were able to fit me in right away. They found what the other location messed up and fixed it. They also found a nail in the tire and patched me up. If this Firestone was near me I would use them for everything possible. From my Husband: "I am a patient man. I like to give people second chances. My engineering professors used to say that you can only get a good trend with three data points, but I'm calling it quits after two horrible experiences. If you value and respect your time, do not bring your car here. My first awful experience involved getting charged the wrong person's bill (it was an amount similar to my $500 bill but not similar to my car or the work I was having done. The employee had verified my name and car information...) and had to wait an ungodly amount of time. "15 minutes" translated to me sitting there for an hour and a half. Most recently, aka today, my wife and I dropped off her car for a changeover to winter tires. Even after my last experience, I figured "that surely can't happen again." Boy, was I wrong. We dropped off the car around 7:15 AM for an 11 AM appointment. The manager (I recognized him from my previous...experience...) took the key, and I said we'd be back around 3 PM. Hey, I figured, that should give then enough time. We got there at 3:15 PM and didn't see the car out yet. My stomach dropped. We got inside, and yep, they were still working on it. Dumbfounded, I asked "Why isn't it done? It was an 11 AM appointment." They said they'd been busy. My wife asked "What would have happened if we had dropped it off and stayed. Would I still be sitting here?" He didn't seem to have an answer, besides "This is the soonest they could get to it. The manager is even working out back." I picked it up at 3:40 PM, more than 8 hours after we dropped it off, more than 4 hours after the appointment, and almost half an hour after we got there to pick it up. To reiterate, if you value your time, I am begging you to find somewhere else. It is worth whatever extra it costs you. " read more

Got my cars battery replaced here. Made appointment about a day ahead. Found a coupon online. Reasonable price plus $15 install. Staff were patient and professional. Took a little longer than stated--maybe 40 minutes instead of 30. They even let me know battery was still just barely in the acceptable charge range before replacing. Facility and restroom were clean. Waiting area is in tire showroom so I got a bit of a headache from the smell of tires. Not much for refreshments but my stay was brief. No hard up sell at all, just a note that tires are near their replacement as well. All in all exceeded my expectations. read more

When I mentioned how long it had been they didnt acknowledge it was an inconvenience. The waiting room was not busy so I dont know why they dint communicate wih me. read more

I was extremely pleased with the attention, knowledge and the way I was treated at this location. I felt the management went above and beyond what was expected with keeping me informed and updated during the entire repair process. I had a very long list of things done yesterday and I didn't have an appointment but was able to get my car looked at immediately and the repairs right after. I felt that the entire staff made sure I knew about each step (in a way that someone like me could understand). The only reason I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I'm not 100% that everything was fixed (I haven't had a chance to really tell yet if all the repairs have been completed). I do feel that there may be an issue still but it may have nothing to do with the things that they did yesterday. If I could have, then I would have given this place a 4.5 out of 5.0. If it was rated solely on expertise, kindness, and how informative, then I would have given 5 FULL read more

However, the gentleman I spoke to not only got my car tires repaired quickly and efficiently, he let me know exactly what I was paying for and gained my permission for the service(s) without being pushy. The experience at the mineral point Firestone was in total contrast to the overall good service I have received from Firestone in other cities. The person at the front desk had very little knowledge of cars; he did not go through the post service recommendations. The mechanics were also not adept in figuring out why there was vibration in the car on shifting gears. Overall a very bad experience. Felt like I paid money for nothing. read more

The 2 times I've been here for a brake job, then an oil change & sway bar replacement, the staff has been stellar, responsive, honest, and their online coupons are fantastic, not to mention the 0% interest for $300 and over jobs for 6 months with a Firestone Card. I did bring my car back after the sway bar because I still heard a bit of knocking, but they tightened everything up and said it was a "mystery" and everything looks good - it doesn't knock anymore though... . Convenient to be able to eat and shop at the mall area and they call you when it's ready. Remember, it is a big corporate chain and they have their policies and specials set, and ultimately they are in the mechanic profession where they know way more than you so just do your research and be a part of the decisions.(If we did this ourselves or had a nice uncle or friend of a friend do it, it'd be way cheaper, of course!) You do have to make sure, if you want to save $, agree on what products etc. they will be using - ex. It was assumed I wanted the premium oil change and I looked(they show you the screen - very transparent) and I said, no, just the basic. read more
