I made an appointment online the night before for a tire repair (My apartments won't allow me to do any car maintenance on property) when I showed up at 11:40 for my appointment at 12 PM and the girl says "we did not receive it on our end and I only have 2 mechanics working and I cannot take any walk ins, sorry." I even show them my confirmation number she stills yeah sorry. So I looked around and found Pep Boys on McHenry they took my car in no problem, when I told them what happened they told me I was the 3rd person in today from Firestone and that they weren't happy and they would be only going back to Pep Boys. I told the guy at the desk, Ritchie I made an appointment online and how they told me they did not receive it. He said that's happened with us too but we still accommodate. I must say I will no longer go to Wheel Works/Firestone, I been a customer of theirs for 10 years!! Even have a Wheel Works credit card. I will get a Pep Boys credit card now. read more

I have been going to this Firestone for about ten years. They used to have good service, but now it's terrible. In the last five or so times I took my vehicle in for service, they've lost an appointment, took my car in all day without providing any services, and twice failed to perform a service that I requested (and paid for). read more

Bought the lifetime alignment because I've got a 4x4 and plan to drive if for the rest of my life. Alignments can go out easily when driving off road so over the course of time this should be a good investment. Problem is this alignment is like the coffee at 7-11. It's fresh or its free. Like I want free stale coffee. I bought brand new tires at another shop because Firestone doesn't sell a tire with a good aggressive tread for off road. Took my truck in with my brand new tires for an alignment...fine.....5k miles later my ($1000) tires are wearing funny. So I take it back and ask for the tire expert to help me understand what the problem is. The lady up front assured me that she and the tech were tire "experts". If an expert knows what he/she is doing they should be able to look at the tires and tell by the tread wear or do some basic diagnostics to find the problem. They tried to say it was because it was a 4x4 with a lift kit. There are LOTS of 4x4 with lift kits that don't wear out their tires in 5k miles. If my truck has a problem help me understand what it is so I can get it fixed. I'm happy to pay. Nope....they just hook it up to the fancy machine and show me how all the numbers say everything is ok. WELL MY TIRES SHOW EVERYTHING IS NOT OK. I contacted the company that sold me the lift kit for my 4Runner. They said that fancy machines don't always work and sometimes "you just have to use your brain". I took my truck to a local mom and pop shop and the guy diagnosed my problem for free in less than ten minutes. That is using your brain! Control arm bushings. They might be experts at using their machine, but they are not tire experts....there is a huge expensive difference. read more

Made appointment for 3 o'clock. Was 20 minutes early. Truck was not brought in to be checked till 5pm. Brought truck in for a/c evaluation. After checking it out. They told me I needed a new compressor and complete system clean out. The estimate for repair was $767.00 dollars. I told them I could not have the work done today. I took the truck to another shop and got it fixed for $128.00 dollars. It only had two loose fitting that they found by doing a dye test. I saved over $600.00 dollars by getting a second opinion. This place will never get me to come back. Please get a second opinion when they quote you a big repair bill. read more

I never write reviews on anything because i don't care to put my unsolicited opinion on any bad experience i have (I'll just never go back) However i'm too bothered and quite offended at how naive and dumb I must have looked to these mechanics. I took my car in to get new brakes and possibly rotors. I told the two employees upfront that depending on the cost i might put it on an account my mom has open with them. After leaving I get a call an hour later saying it's going to be $900+ (apparently my calipers NEEDED to be changed too) the amount for new brakes was so unbelievably offensive i had no words. After hanging up it took me less than 20 minutes to get enough professional opinions that the likely hood of my calipers needing to be changed on my 2016 toyota, which I have had sole ownership of, was slim to none. Of course no one could give me a definite answer without actually seeing my car. So i took it to a mechanic shop in stockton (my sister and brother in-law have taken their cars to this same guy for years and have never had a problem) it took him less than and hour to tell me that only my rotors and brakes needed to be changed and that my calipers were just fine. 280 dollars later my car was ready to be picked up. I've never dealt with such dishonestly and callousness from a business, it's sort of disgusting. read more

So I originally went with this company after I bought my used car in 2016 because I need two tires. I made a lot of phone calls to find firestone tires for the best rate. I called they said they had them in stock so I went there and waited 2 hours only to find out their inventory was wrong and they didn't have them so I decided to go with Bridgestone. Oh they gave me a 20% off to make things right:). I got two more tires same place waited 4 hours this time I got a screw in my new tire so I went back thinking I could get the same tire with a good discount before I went I called and again after waiting 3 hours their inventory was off I had let my daughter risk her life driving the car 45 miles with the screw in tire and not to mention gas and time so here's the good part on Sunday which was one of the guys days off he found a tire in Stockton brought to modesto and they mounted and gave me the tire for free. I appreciate them making things right. read more

I'm a professional driving so I am away from the house a lot so I sent my woman down to get her headlights looked at. They originally told her that if they could fix the problem they would do it for $130. They told her it would be done by 6-6:30 pm and she dropped it off at 7am. She works at 6:30 pm so she asked if she could pick the car up in the morning after work. They said ok, she gets there in the morning and they tell her that they changed the headlights (which we had already done and it wasn't the issue) and it didn't fix the problem so they told her that it would be $150 to pick up the car! They didn't even fix the problem, she was out of a car and still is (cause she drives at night) and they were in such a hurry to get rid of her. They could of given her suggestions on where to go or if they had found out anything about the issue. I don't like being taking advantage of let alone someone I really care about. I reccomend not to come to firestone. This is the second time being ripped off by this company. We will never go here again. read more

I'm giving this four stars out of five only for one strict reason. Which I will get to you. I live two hours away from the store and work eight hours away from it. I called the day prior and spoke to a guy who said that he would have my tires there in the morning and to be there by 8:30 AM. He also told me that I needed to put down a deposit because there were so many people that were ordering tires are not coming to get them. While I understand that I've been a long time client of firestone and I've never had that happen before. Needless to say that definitely didn't happen. When I explain to him that I always run the same tires and that I only was able to purchase to a couple weeks prior and that I needed the other two he stated that wasn't his problem. Not really thrilled with that guy especially when I find out as I got down there at 8:30 in the morning after waking up at six to bring my whole family down to make a day of going to the mall while they took care of my truck, the tires weren't even going to be at the store until 11am-1pm. Why the actual F$&K would you tell me to be there at 830 if the tires won't even be there until maybe 1pm?!... As I spoke to the lady working the front office (Rebecca was her name) she was more than just understanding of the situation after I explained to her what I was trying to accomplish that day. She definitely went above and beyond to make sure that not only did I feel like I wasn't being taken advantage of or wasting my time but made sure that she got me in an out the second those tires arrived. She was very courteous and absolutely gets a five star rating from me for not only customer service but as a human being as well. Life happens, sure. But the guy I spoke with gets a zero star rating. Extremely disrespectful incorrect information and he actually tried up charge the tires without telling me to put the insurance on them that I did not need. Rebecca on the other hand? Amazing. She deserves a raise or a promotion for sure. Thanks for being exactly what an employee should be in that business. Me and my family are grateful! read more

I scheduled an appointment at noon for an oil change and tire rotation. Upon arrival, there were no seats in the waiting area. I asked how long it would be, and was told two hours. I let the person know that I had scheduled an appointment, and asked why it would take so long. He replied "Lucky you have an appointment or we could not help you." He was not only rude but condescending as well. After waiting two and half hours for an oil change and tire rotation, I will not be back. Well let me start out with. I scheduled an appointment with them ahead of time and when I get there an hour earlier. They say that they were running behind about two to three hours on a Wednesday. I was scheduled for two tire replacement just mount on rims no installation on the vehicle and they are saying two to three hours wait. You got to be kidding me. This place is a tire company and they are not at all quick and efficient. They need to hire a new crew because two to three hours on simple jobs like a tire mount on rims makes me sick. I worked for Goodyear for three years and this guys are embarrassing. Tire installation on rims take about ten to fifteen minutes per tire. These people are amateurs. I will recommend you to American tires between tully rd and standiford rd. They are quick, efficient and very professional. As busy as they are they definitely can do the job within half hr to forty-five minute. That is what is typically an average time. I will suggest going to American Tires for any of your tire needs and deal. read more

If you decide to bring your hard earned money to this establishment ensure you stay with your vehicle or do NOT choose this store at all. I once purchased a lifetime alignment service from FIRESTONE which this location stated would be fully honored. This should've included tire balancing (not done), air pressure check (not done) and a road test (not done) to ensure my vehicle's steering is not pulling to the right anymore or starts shaking above 55mph. I was first told it would be close to 90min before my vehicle was ready for pick up but only 40min after drop off I received a phone call from this dubious establishment notifying me my car is ready. I immediately had the suspicion that since they couldn't make any money off me due to my lifetime warranty for alignments a substandard job had been performed. Sadly that was the truth. Once I noticed still persisting deficiencies during a short freeway ride to EXIT 227, I called and returned to this rip-off cave at once in order to get the job properly executed but only to be fed excuses by the staff and an attempt to sell me new tires. FYI, your rear left tire does not cause your vehicle to pull to the right. Especially after your digital alignment system already confirmed that the right front is causing the misalignment. Be cautioned all you hard working people that have to depend on shops like this due to your crazy working hours that prevent you to take care of grease monkey business yourself... I STRONGLY do NOT recommend. If I had the ability to give these people zero stars I would but YELP does not give this option. So I gladly got in touch with FIRESTONE Corp. and filed an official comlpaint. read more

I guess these people don't learn from the other reviews I've read. I am so disappointed in this business. One of my tires on my 2013 Chevy cruze had a puncture in it. I took it in because my husband has credit at Firestone and told me to just go there. I took the day off work and took it in at about 1030am. It was just a basic patch. One guy told my husband it would be $27 over the phone. Then when I got there the guy told me it was $38 because he thought my car had low profile larger tires... I told the tech they are regular 16 inch tires. He said it would be a few hours. Ok.. So after an hour he calls me and says he can't fix the tire because of where the puncture was.. He said it was on the side wall.. Then he said it would be a $136 without taxes to replace it and that I actually needed four new tires and quoted me a $500 plus figure.. Omg!! I felt it was all bs .. I told him I would call him back.. I called my husband and told him all the crap and what I suspected.. My husband called him and told him we would just pick up our car and to forget it.. When my husband went in.. The tech repeated that we really needed tires and they could do it... We are the customers and if and when I get tires in about 2more months when I CAN AFFORD IT.. I will not be going to them.. So about 330pm I took my car to Budget Tire they patched it no problem for $10 bucks.. The pucture was NOT on the side wall.. They do tire rotation for $10 bucks also.. .omg!! They did an excellent job in 30minutes..I wasted so much time with disgusting Firestone and Budget Tire had great reviews and they saved me money I don't have right this month. So happy I didn't fall for Firestones BS.. Watch out everyone!! read more

The woman who works the front desk is very nice. But I am not reviewing her. i'm reviewing the shop. I dropped my van off at about 830 am and told them i needed a tire rotation and a brake inspection. The tire rotation was free and i told them i wanted to be called with an estimate before any work was to be done. I also told them i needed my car back by 130 to pick up my kids from school. At 1245 after calling the shop over and over again with no answer i finally just walked back to the shop to see what the hell was going on. I was told that the woman who runs the front was on lunch and had to run some other errands for the shop and hadn't been there for a couple hours. So apparently she is the only one who knows how to make and receive phone calls. She was apologetic and went over the estimate with me. She told me that firestone only sells brake work in packages. They cant just fix a problem here and there, they HAVE to perform some unnecessary work also because its part of the package and the cheapest package was $650. She even looked embarrassed that she had to try and upsell to me. She knew it sounded ridiculous to try and sell this package but she had to do it. As I said before, she was very nice and knew her stuff. If I had a business I would want to hire her. But as for Firestone as a company, no thanks. I don't want your up sell and your bogus package. Also, teach the techs some customer service skills, don't leave it up to that poor girl to run the whole place and be the courier as well. read more

I stopped by and they said they were too busy on a Wednesday but bring it back on Saturday for my Chevrolet diesel truck. They looked at the truck and knew it was a diesel. I took it in on Saturday and in the heat of the day rode bike back home and they said truck would be done by 5 but would call. At 5 I called because they hadn't called after having the truck all day. They told me they couldn't work on diesel trucks and I should take it to the dealer or someone that does. So why did they make the appointment and then take the truck all day costing me a half week of time and 2 rides on my bike in 105 degree weather only to be told I should take it to someone that works on diesel trucks. They said ththey truck codes were not something they could work on. They should have just to,me on Wednesday they don't work on diesel trucks and I should go to someone that does. It was a very frustrating and time wasting experience.f read more

I had a slow leak with a nail in the center of my tire. I authorized a repair and then received a call that my tire was replaced without my permission. (I have a spare). To make a long story short the store attempted to take advantage of me with a bait and switch technique in tire sales. A $36repair soon turned into a proposed $850 purchase. The manager alleged that my 2012 vehicle left the factory with the "wrong" tires when I purchased it at that time. I called the corporate office to complain and they assured me that a regional would call me to resolve my issue but the store manager explained that the Regional director was "too busy". The Niello family where I originally purchased my car took care of me after this chain took advantage of me. Buyer beware! read more

I bought tires at this Firestone back in July 2016, I had to take it to Firestone in San Jose a week later to have the wheels re balanced because the Modesto shop did a poor job and my truck was shaking all over the place. Most recently, 3/12/2017, I took the truck there to have my brake rotors turned and pads replaced because the dealer ship said they needed done when I had some recall work completed. They, Firestone, tried to sell me an air filter which I just had replaced during the last service a few months before and they also tried to sell me a brake flush, I declined both and paid them $310.00 to turn the rotors and replace the pads. I picked the truck up when they were done and I took the truck home and parked it. When I went out the next day and started it up I was sitting there warming it up and my brake pedal faded all the way to the floor, which it was not doing before they worked on it. When I took it back I was told they were really busy because they had a tire sale going on. I dropped the truck at 8:30 am and was told they would be done by 5:30. They called me around 10am and said they were done, when I got there to pick it up the same thing was happening. Paul, the Manager, took a test drive with me and tried to say this was normal, BS, I dont know what they did to my truck but I will be taking it to the dealership to have them look it over and confirm that this is not normal like Paul claims. I will have the dealer fix it and fight the Firestone corporation for the money. I have been taking my vehicles to this Firestone since before Butch retired, at least 15 years and have NEVER had this kind of problem, They have lost my business and the Firestone corporation will be hearing from me. read more

I called and ordered a set of tires over the phone and made an appointment that was a week out from my order. When I showed up for my appointment, the service writer told me that they had not come in yet. I informed him that I have an insane schedule and it's hard for me to have time to schedule a ride. Not only that I work full time and go to school full time. The service writer instead of being helpful and maybe finding out an eta. on where my tires are, responded to me with "shipping is not an exact science." WTF. I decided to wait a couple more days before I gave up on them. Well two business days have gone by and no tires and still no eta. So, I decided to call the other Firestone dealer in Turlock. At the beginning of our conversation I was informed that the tires I had ordered are no longer made. Again WTF Modesto Firestone. I would strongly suggest not doing business with Modesto Firestone. read more

One thing you don't do is over promise a customer and fail to deliver, it's unacceptable.. it's more respectable when you quote a longer time out so if you DO happen to finish earlier the customer would be happy rather than pissed..I understand businesses get busy being that I work at a place that offers services , and that is why you should consider that when quote somebody a time.. not only that I do not care to be ignored and watch two workers flirt and touch each other in the work place.. Lacie was the girl who helped me but it took abt 4 minutes for her to come and help me. Her and the guy she was flirting with and standing outside with saw me walk into the store and if you know you're doing something or busy , the least you could tell a customer is "I will be with you in just a moment" or something .. one thing I do know is that customers hate to feel ignored.. so now I have been waiting for me car for 5 hours when Lacie said it'd only take 2 and at most 2 and a half .. I got a call when my car was supposed to be done saying that it'd be about two more hours.. I expressed to Paul that Lacie said my car would be DONE at that time not DONE WITH THE INSPECTION .. that shows a lack of communication in this business amongst staff which is also unacceptable.. I am highly disappointed because I've been coming to this firestone a while and have seen the quality of workers diminish with the exception of a few .. because of my experience today I would have rated this a one star but because most of my times here have been an ease I'm not going to .. also I jst waited all this time for my BRAKES TO STILL BE MAKING THE SAME EXACT NOISE AFTER THEY APPARENTLY PUT NEW BRAKES ON !!!!! If I could give 0 stars I absolutely would. I recently came in at 10:00am because a hose of mine had popped and there was no other repair shop or mechanic opened being that it was a Sunday. So reluctantly I had to come here. I let the guy who helped me know what hose had been popped. I gave them a clear description of where it was. I figured they'd go straight to it and go ahead and replace it being how there were hardly any cars there because it was somewhat early. The guy comes back to tell me they're going to have to charge me $30 to do a cooling system pressure test to see where the hose was leaking. In my head I'm already angry because I had just given them a diagnosis of what was wrong. I tell them that's fine. An hour and a half passes and he comes back and says that he found the hose I was talking about and he was going to send in an order and get it replaced. I tell him that's fine and then he leaves. I'm not joking around when I say I was there till they were closing. A couple dozen other customers all came and went while I was patiently sitting there waiting on my car. I'm not a rude customer nor do I like making a scene. So I'm just sitting here. Haven't had the chance to go eat or anything because I assumed it wouldn't take that long and there was nothing appetizing nearby. 1:00pm hits and he tell me that my head gasket might be blown, and if I wanted him to do a test to see if it was bad or not. I'm not an idiot, I know for a fact it wasn't blown because as soon as that hose popped, I pulled over and shut my car off. I told him that it wouldn't be necessary. He just gave me a look as if I should've told him to check it out. Like I said I didn't want to come in here in the first place because they charge you insane amounts for petty things. Time passes by and it is about time for them to close. I get up and the same guy tells me my car is finally finished. All my anger is boiling inside of me, but I fake a smile and tell him thank you. He lets me know that the total cost was going to be $161.42 for the service performed. In my head I wanted to tell him something because replacing a hose should not even cost that much. And the fact that it took them about 7 hours to work on my car was plain out ridiculous. He see the frustration on my face and offers to give me $25 dollars off for the inconvenience of waiting so long. There was nothing to say after that because my car needed that hose replaced as my engine was over heating. I couldn't say I wasn't going to pay them. So I did and I left exhausted and a little lightheaded from not having eaten the whole time I was there. I look at my receipt and the guy only took off $18 from my bill. That set me over the top but I was done being there. I had no energy to even try to argue. I went to my actual mechanic the next day and had him test my car for any head gasket problems. He said there was none at all. I was so furious that firestone would even try to have me look at a "possible head gasket problem" just to charge me. So I just came on here to write a review because I feel that wasn't right of them. I had the worst service ever by a bunch of people who just stood around. Assuming as if I had no idea about cars. I'm glad I didn't follow through with that testing because I'm sure my bill from them would've been over a good $250 for a job that should've cost no more than $75 at the most. Ridiculous place. I'd rather tow my car to my own house or stay stranded on the road before taking it here ever again. read more
