Not sure about the actual quality of more in-depth repairs and maintenance, but I've gotten my old changed here at least 5 or 6 times, and every time it's been smooth sailing, and I'll continue to come here unless I experience otherwise. The oil change was very fast and I like being able to come in at 7am. My only complaint is that oil leaked on my garage floor when I got home because there was probably some spillage when they added oil or removed the filter. It's alway good to do a thorough wipe down after the oil change so that doesn't happen. read more

Although the mechanics are knowledgeable about cars, they lack the skills to do a complete job and they don't have the organization skills to run a business. i called in and asked if i was able to get an alignment. i live in Merced so Modesto firestone is a 40min drive. they assured me that if i came in promptly at 5pm, the alignment machine would be available for my car. I arrived at 5 and guess what?! they had two people in line in front of me, and they were going to close the shop at 6pm.. the guy at the front said "uhh.. sorry we don't have time to do your car. who did you speak to on the phone?" !!!! how can they make a stupid mistake like that if they are trying to run a business? i came in a week later, at a specified time (i called beforehand to schedule) and i had to wait 40min while they finished 2 cars before me. the mechanics actually do know what they are talking about, and explained what was wrong with my car. however when i asked them to straighten my steering wheel, they didn't completely recenter the steering wheel by equalizing lengths of both tierod ends.. also, butch is a grumpy old man who should retire soon before he hurts himself. read more

I have been going to Firestone for the past 15- 20 years. I have to admit this is the worst location/shop I have seen yet! The customer service manager and sevice staion management are almost 2 different shops...i dropped off my car at 8 am * t1 tire change and oil change requested* these folks were trying tontell.me it might take more than a day to do...when i was fed up and went back to shop * 3pm* i witnessed their entire service team* 4 lazy yet talkative white guys circled in a huddle with smiles and laughs on their faces* once i arrived after my 3rd call for updates- manager basically told me we will text you . I asked for an update and they suddenly informed me that my dipstick was broken - suggested i buy a new 30 dollar dipstick per a previous jiffy lube employee who works with firstone now* im think they re just trying to upcharge me just cuz im deaf but i know better* then they inform me they got the dipstivk but wrong one- at this point im like i just wanted a new tire* so I am telli g my family this and they re like oh hell no lets go down* upon arrival this is where i see a group of guys just shootibg the breeze and conversing amongst one another while my car sits idly in the background... i brought my father in law and we were like what the f*** ...at this point, rebecca * shop manager was just deflecting a to z to the pont whre we got the shop manager to come up* when this lazy kid came up he was just givijg one excuse after another but hia co-qorkers who were huddled around him a second ago- were finally doing work-lo and behold they magically were able to have everything ready in 5 minutes....these folks are just bs bs ers and i would suggest stay far far away. read more

Horrible experience! Took my car in their for a test to check for a coolant leak and they had me drop it off and said they would call when it's ready. They never called so I went there to check on it and there was one guy there closing up shop. They never even told me it would have to stay overnight! The next day I get a call saying it was leaking from the radiator and it would be over $800! I ended up having someone else look at it and they told me it was just the coolant reservoir. Horrible customer service!!! I don't live in the area and I attend MJC and got a slow leak in my driver side front tire. I was referred to Firestone after the other two tire repair shops were closing and my tire needed to be patched and not pulled. After driving across Modesto in which I am completely not familiar with, I went to Firestone because was not going to be able to make it home to Manteca. As soon as I walked the young lady at the counter greeted me and I in return. I told her I needed my tire patched and the next words out of her mouth was, we won't be able to do that today. It's 5:30p.m and they close at 7:00p.m.!!! She didn't ask what was wrong with the tire or if it was completely flat or anything regarding my tire. This was the worst experience ever!!! read more

I've been going to this same firestone since Joe DeLeon was there. For the first time ever, I was treated poorly. The person named Kevin was extremely rude. Took a single tire to get replaced at 11am on a Tuesday morning, they didn't give me my tire back until Thursday 3pm. Called him a couple times to check on the status of my tire and he kept saying it'll be ready in a couple hours. Then at the end of the day said he wouldn't have it until the morning of Wednesday. Called him several times on Wednesday and kept saying it would be ready in a couple hours. He said he told me he was going to call when it was ready and was very rude to me on the phone. Then when my tire was finally done, he told me my tire tread was used 98% which I know is a lie because I got all my other tires at the same time so that would mean all my tires were bald but they aren't. He couldn't prove it cuz they took the tire away. I usually deal with Paul, he's a very nice guy. I know if Paul was to help me I know he would have been honest with me but unfortunately I had to deal with this scum bag Kevin. I know I won't be going back. So sad that someone like Kevin could ruin something for a loyal customer. read more

Dropped my car off at 9:45 am to get tire tires and a tune up. Went there at 5pm when they closed to pick it up and it was never worked on. They said they were short mechanics. But they never called to give us the option of picking up the car and bringing it back another day. Poor customer service. Took my car some place else. read more

We have brought our cars here for oil changes, then in the beginning of the year I had taken my 2016 Chevy Cruze in for a water leak problem so when I took it in they "supposedly fixed it" couple months passed and I had the same problem AGAIN! But this time my car over heated and left me stranded in the freeway had to get it towed home, so I the next day I had it towed to CHEVY! And within a couple of days of them looking into my Cruze they found that water was actually leaking into my oil and that pumps had never been changed and my motor was messed up so all in all it would be close to $5000 to fixed i obviously couldn't pull that money out of my ass so I had to have it repoed! So I blame firestone for not doing the job right and NEVER AGAIN WILL I TAKE ANOTHER VEHICLE TO BE MAINTENANCED BY THEM AGAIN! It took me a while to post this because of the disappointment! Not surprised this place has ony 2 stars... I called (4) times throughout the day today and was put on hold each time by the same gentleman (7/9/19 @ 4:08pm was my last time calling) without even asking what was needed. Not to mention the 1st time on was on hold for over 10 minutes. If this service writer (or whoever is answering the phones) cannot delegate more people to their customer service then upper management needs to address this. I have been in the automotive industry for over 15 years and this type of service is unacceptable. Whether or not they are short-handed, having customers waiting (several times) on hold for long periods of time is a perfect way to deliver bad reviews and reputation. I'm always skeptical about taking my car in because auto mechanics can be shady. But this place has definitely earned my trust. About a week ago, I needed my ignition checked. And we all know that the going rate for a diagnostic will cost you $90. Ugh...expensive right?! But it needed to be done, so I was later notified that it was just a loose bolt and tightened. Yay! No major work needed to be done; however, the windshield wipers needed to be replaced, a fuel system cleaning, brake fluid exchange, air filter, and a new alternator belt was highly suggested. And since my car was already there, I agreed to get everything that was recommended done. Later, I picked my car up that same day and stalled a few times before leaving the shopping complex. I turned around and drove back to the shop. I explained what was happening and the store manger took it for test drive. He reassured me that I wasn't imagining things. It was looked once more by an auto tech, and it drove fine afterwards. BUT my car stalled again later that night. I was very upset, but the trick is to keep your cool and remember that to being rude gets you no one anywhere. Thus, I took it back to the shop first thing the next morning @ 7am without an appointment. The store manger took in my car and assured me that I would receive a call when they determined what the problem was. Honestly, I expected the worse. I anticipated that they would have my car back to me by the next 1 or 2 business day(s). But no...it was ready for me later that afternoon (2:30pm). So I picked up my car, and it ran perfectly. The belt was replaced again with no charges under the warranty. Upon departure, the store manger took the time to let me know that my car was test-driven a couple times throughout the day and also let it sit for a couple of hours just to be sure. He also told me that it was tested on the freeway. Nonetheless, no problems since the warranty replacement. And the store manager had my car looked at regardless of their BUSY appointment schedule. Later, he also apologized for the inconvenience. Overall, this shop has earned my trust full respect for honoring their warranty without ANY hesitations. Of course, I totally freaked out and called Rebecca the Firestone manager. Even though all the bays were full, she asked one of her techs Daniel to check out the car. Came in Monday to change 1 tire, they didn't have it in stock so they ordered one and told me to come back Tuesday at a certain time. Tuesday morning I come in and it was a little busy. Little did I know it'd take 3 hours to change 1 tire. Be cautious when taking your car here. At least for the communication aspect, the management system needs to train their workers better. The customer service here is a joke. I called saying that I have a flat tire. It's been flat for a couple of weeks, but with work I have always missed the hours of the tire shop. I believe Kristen was the person that picked up the phone. She told me to just come on through and they will be able to take care of me. So I drove my car with a flat tire to Firestone very cautiously scared that I might run into a flat. What she didn't tell me that she had the entire day full of appointments and it wouldn't be until the next day or even two days before my car would even be looked at. I asked if there was any way that they could look at it now and they turned me away. In short, I hope the management takes a look at their customer service and reviews how they talk to customers and don't lead them into thinking there is availability for me to have my car serviced. This place is a complete joke. Bought tire had a ton of problems. Took car to shop two females where in front where lazy. Had to pry them to triage problem tire was found with low pressure. She wanted to add air and just move on. I said no let's find out why. Tire had nail in it. They did not want to fix. Asked for manager other female informed me she was manager. Asked for district managers number that was voice mail full and refused to respond to text. Take your car elsewhere and never by Firestone/Bridgestone product, because they will not honor any warranty they have with you. I purchased road hazard. Guess we will go to court! Brought my work truck here because it was listed as an approved repair shop with the maintenance program my work has. Made an appointment to have my tire replaced the day before, showed up right when they opened the next morning and I missed an entire day of work waiting for them to replace one tire. Nobody knows what they're doing here, don't bother bringing your vehicles here unless you wanna wait all day. Next time I'll pay outta pocket at a shop I prefer rather than use my works maintenance program and bring it back to this dump. read more

I came in for an oil change and was told it would take 1.5 hours. I waited and waited and waited. After 3 hours the oil change was finally complete. I still waited another half an hour after the vehicle was parked outside (clearly) they were done. No one bothered to tell me that and I continued to waste more time. This is a great place to take your vehicle. They are a car service place so bring a book or computer to have something to do while you wait. I have always had a good experience. Had a flat tire and since my set of tires were bought from a Firestone in LA and were under warranty we looked up the closest Firestone. When we arrived they told us it would be at 1 to 1 1/2 hour wait. We figured since we just came in on a Sunday afternoon that this was expected. During our wait I was told that the tire was fixable and wouldn't cost me a thing, but that my 2 front tire treads were extremely low and should be changed out immediately. I told them I would get it done at home and to just fix the flat. After the complete 1 1/2 wait I was told that the tire was in fact not fixable and they would have to put on a new tire. Now that I would have to buy a new tire, plus 2 more that were bad, I said just change out all four. (The 4th tire was more than half gone on the tread). They said it would take another 1 to 1 1/2hrs. My husband and I ended up falling asleep in their waiting area. When I awoke 1 1/2 hrs had gone by so I got up and asked if my car was ready (even though I could see it was still up in the shop with no tires on. The guy says "Let me check" and comes back to say it will be another 30 min. WHAT?? I say relatively loudly (since there was 5 other people waiting) that I'd been there for 3 hours and it shouldn't take this long to change a tire! (Granted, they were now changing 4, but still). Finally after that 30 min, my car was ready and they apologized saying there was a miscommunication with the mechanic and gave me a card for a free oil change....as if I would come back. I wish I had drove home to the Bay on the spare at 50mph and gotten them changed elsewhere. read more

This place would get five stars if they didn't stand around talking. 2-3 hours for an oil change?! "We're backed up" they said but they have 3 guys slowly walking and all talking to each other. They do amazing service and never had to return for anything done wrong, but the price is not worth the wait. Even with an appointment it's still 1-2 hours for an oil change. There places nearby that can do it in 30, 20, and even 10 minutes! What's going on guys?! Seriously pissed off how o have to block out a whole vacation day just to wait for you fuckers to change oil in 2-3 hours. Don't go here if you want speedy service offered by it's mechanics. I've missed class, appointments, meetings, and have to use vacation time because I never know whether I'll be here till closing or out by noon if I bring my car in at opening. Absolutely am a totally fan of this place. Their service department is great and I've always felt super comfortable taking my cars here. As a woman, it's important to not feel like your being taken for all you have. It's been awhile since I've been in, but come to think of it, I'm just about due for an oil change. And because of that "catch and rectification," I am very happy with the value I ultimately received. [prev.rew.: They get a 2, because they're polite. When I got to the shop around 9am, there were 1 person in front of me. The gentleman at the counter said it would be a couple hours for them to install 4 tires. Other shops usually get it done in 45 minutes, but oh well. 2 1/2 hrs later, they let me know that the key is too loose for them to take the lock off. But as it turns out, they CAN remove the locks for an additional $50 plus tax! So, the end result: 3 1/2 hours and $119 to install tires! (Just install - not including the tire purchase!). I needed to replace the tires on the Jeep Grand Cherokee went to several stores in the area. My last stop was at Firestone and after talking with Raphael he was able to match the best deal I had found with a better tire and longer warranty. He even added in a few additional services. Giving one star because I can't give zero. Okay, so I've been bringing my vehicles here for over 20 years. Like someone on an older post mentioned, since the former manager Paul left their level of service here has gone down hill. I took my van there for a diagnosis, no repairs, just a simple diagnostic. They had my van all day, no call. I called 5 minutes before they closed and they told me that they would not be able to get to it today, and most likely not on Sunday either. Then why the hell did you take my vehicle in the first place!!! And you mean to tell me that in 2 days you can't find time to run a diagnostic!!! Do not go to this place, they haven't been very good in a few years, horrible customer service. Part 2: Two days later: So my other car had a screw in the left rear tire. Since I purchased the tires at Firestone I very reluctantly called them to bring my car in to have the tire repaired. Removing a screw and patching a tire should not take more than a half hour, 45 minutes at most. They told me over the phone on Monday that they could not get me in until Thursday at the earliest, but that I was welcome to leave my car with them until then. After my last interaction with them I was not in the mood to deal with them so I told them to forget about it. I called America's Tires and asked them if I needed an appointment to patch a tire. They said no, but I could schedule one if needed. They got me right in after I got off work. It took them literally 35 minutes to repair the tire, and check the other tires for correct air pressure. And to top it off they didn't even charge me. So, the moral of the story is I'm never going back to Firestone again, and America's Tires is now my tire company of choice. read more

Do not take your car here! You think you will get a good deal? You will end up with the biggest headaches and paying to fix their mess! They do not know what they are doing! We have been Firestone customers for over 16 years! They used to be great! They have fallen so far downhill it is mind boggling! They have had our truck in and out for over a month. They fixed the wrong part. They wont own up and they leave it parked outside all day. They say we only have one technician. However, this technician is NEVER working on the truck! They have had it since last week for the 4th time.. He is chit chatting or sweeping or doing NOTHING! He cant find the problem, that he originally misdiagnosed and charged us $1,000.00 to fix! It is still not working right. We keep telling them and they have not even tried to go in and correct it. It is SO ridiculous!!! They act like they are going to do something and say they will call us back! Days will go by and my husband finally calls them and they say oh let me check... Ill call you back. GUESS WHAT??? I'm so offend right now! I've been going to Firestone for years! I told my daughter to take her car in yesterday to get the brakes fixed! And we would just change it to my account. Her quote was $900+ for calipers and brakes. She declined service and took her car to another trusted mechanic in Stockton that my son in-law has used for years. $280 for brakes & rotors. If I could give this store a negative review I would. Spent two hours here to get my vehicle back with the steering wheel pointing to the right and it still pulled after an alignment. This is the third firestone I have gone to in less than a week and they never got my alignment right. Got a refund and took my vehicle to McCoy tire and they fixed my vehicles alignment first try in less than 30 minutes. This company also told me they would pay to have my alignment done right at another store or at the dealership and every time I contacted corporate they would send me to someone's voicemail and haven't heard back from anyone in over two weeks. So my jeep broke down on the freeway on the way to work. I'm not from around modesto. The driveline broke off and there was no way to drive it home. Firestone was the closest so I called to make sure they did that kind of work. They said yeah bring it in. So I asked if there was a tow company close that close. The guy says... I'm not from around here so I don't know. Finally get it there. Get a call it's ready. Go to pick it up and there is another piece hanging from under my car. So the driveline broke the tranny oil pan which they replaced. But left the old pan just hanging off the bottom of the car. So I brought it in with a driveline hanging and was leaving with something else hanging off my car. When I say they need to take it off. He says a guy is on lunch and I can wait. I can't wait. So I take my jeep and handle it myself. On top of that they didn't tighten the bolts on the tranny oil pan so it's leaking tranny oil now. WILL NOT GO BACK!!!!! read more
