I was given an appointment for the afternoon, because they had a lot of cars before me and I did not want to wait. I arrived at my appointed time. I was taken right in. Unfortunately, I have to change my review of this place. After coming here for the past decade or so, Brake Masters has done quite a lot wrong. I have a 2012 Mazda 6 which my son primarily uses to get to work and school. It's had to have quite a but of work done lately, as it's an older car. One issue we had to take care of last year was the alternator. We got it replaced here, only to have to get a new one just a few months later. Luckily, it was still under warranty right? Well, less than a year later we had to get it replaced, yet again. We went to a different shop and were told that the alternator looked rather worn for it only being less than a year old. It looked more like it was 5 years old. We also had them check the brakes as they were getting rather noisy. So, yea the brakes needed to be replaced because one of the rotors was the wrong size! Did I mention we got that rotor from Brake Masters too? Well we did, around the same time we got the alternator replaced. So, a few big screw ups there & they have lost my business. There are plenty of other auto shops in the area so do your due diligence. read more

I would say you should be getting a second opinion before you get your car serviced here. The second place I went to said they were trying to scam me since I didn't need those services. It's also the little things that stand out. I was charged more than what the dealer charged to replace a battery in my key fob. When I came in to pick up my car the Bill was $112 I was told my car took more oil I came home and looked up my cars oil and NO my car does not take 7 quarts I called and he said "Oh I made a mistake". I've been here quite a few times. Oil changes, brakes, etc. Prices seem average for the most part but always check www.brakemasters.com for coupons first. The manager (Larry) is a nice enough guy, friendly, and has always been professional and courteous with me. Never had a problem with the quality of work done. Although, I did catch them once a year or two ago. I came in for an oil change and also asked them to rotate my tires. They didn't rotate them (I have small paint marks on my tires so I can tell), yet they tried to charge me for the tire rotation. I called them on it! This is the kind of shenanigans you have to closely watch out for because all auto service business's will try to take advantage of you one way or another. I've had my brakes done at other auto shops, and than immediately taken my car into Brake Masters for an oil change, and...... they still inform you that you need new brakes! Auto service shops are notorious at this. They will quote you a price and miraculously always find something else wrong with your car so they can attempt to extract even more $ from your wallet. You go in for one thing, they inspect your car, and than informed that you also need several other things done too. Yeah right. If you ever see the words "free inspection" just know that there is NO such thing as a "free inspection" of your car. They will always find a way to charge you somehow for that "free inspection". Auto service shops will attempt to squeeze every penny from you possible. Don't trust any of them. The auto service business is a corrupt and dishonest racket full of crooks. It's been that way since the invention of the automobile. Brake Masters included. Unfortunately, I can't change the industry. My brakes were grinding severely. Took my vehicle to this location on June 10, 2019. Diagnosed as rear pads/rotors needing replacement. Paid $388 for the repair.Car never rolled right after the repair and started hearing grinding and smelling burnt metal 3 weeks later. Returned July 11, 2019 and was diagnosed as calipers( which is one of the main components of the braking system) being the main reason for brakes and rotors being damaged. Instead of crediting me $388 for parts and labor, since the rotors/pads they installed 30 days earlier were completely destroyed(company policy of 90 WARRANTY PARTS AND LABOR...), they charged me AGAIN for WARRANTIED PARTS AND LABOR , directly related to their mistakes, PLUS the cost of new calipers/labor, totaling $800!!!!!!!!So, $800 +$388 = $1,188 FOR REAR BRAKES ONLY???!!!!.IM TAKING THESE GUYS TO COURT TO RECOVER MY LOSSES....PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THESE SCAM ARTISTS. Went to get an oil change for my vehicle when I got home I realized that the mechanic who worked on my vehicle did not change the oil filter. I immediately called them and the manager said to bring it back . When I arrived the manager told the one who worked on my truck that he did not change the oil filter and he responded , they also have blue colored oil filters like the one that was in my truck , that was a lie, Pennzoil has yellow colored filters , I asked to see the old filter that was supposedly replaced but the manager told his worker just go ahead and change the filter ..lazy mechanic just didn't want to do the proper thing .
