I had a problem with noise coming from my rear brakes. I took it to a couple of mechanics to get estimates. Every mechanic I took it to had a different opinion, including the dealership. All solutions to fixing the break noise were wrong. Add insult to injury all charged me to diagnose the problem. On advice from a friend, I finally took my car to Firestone. They listened carefully to what I was experiencing and diagnosed the problem for free. Just want to say thanks Firestone and a special thank you to Raquel the associate who took care of me. We were driving back from LA to the bay area when a bed sheet that was loose on the freeway became wrapped around our axle. Firestone was the nearest place we found open and upon entering Lawrence (Larry) was very professional and sympathetic to our dilemma, our time and the fact that we were extremely stressed out. He fixed the problem as quickly as possible and sent us on our way. We can't thank him enough for saving the day and putting us all back in a happy state of mind before our long journey back. Worst place to have your car serviced had my tires balanced and rotate found out a rim was bent instead of selling me a new one they stuck in the rear of car where it would not be noticed. Well next time I went in could not rotate tires cause of the bent rim they want to leave it in the back simple solution only the tires are not wearing out evenly. That could have been fixed had they just told me go else wear buy a new rim we can put it on and continue service here no they leave me with a bent rim in the back and hope I never find out about it like I did when I changed it else where. Had I kept going that tire would have been left in the back forever or until something worse happened to it, my car, or my family! Thanks but this place really stinks! read more

Today (Sunday March 12th) I noticed that there was a nail in the tire of my car and I took it to this store late in the afternoon. When I went back they showed me the nail which was interestingly short and didn't go through the tire. They didn't charge me anything and were very friendly and respectful. Especially, the store manager Lawrence who explained the situation seemed to be very proffesional. I strongly recommend this store. read more

Appointments make no sense here. There is only 1 person at front desk to deal with all people in line and take all phone calls.. I came on Saturday and 2 hour wait.. So took appointment for Tuesday first thing in the morning, came on time, he said 2 hour wait.. So took appointment on Wednesday first thing in the morning, came much ahead of time, still I had to sit almost for 2 hours BEFORE they took my car in for repair.. It's a terrible day when you need to purchase tires unexpectedly. I shopped around a bit and debated between two Firestone Complete Auto locations in Northridge which carried the tire model I wanted. Originally, the one I went to on Plummer either lacked the knowledge and/or tried to pull some sorta unneeded maintenance scheme. I called this location (on Balboa), Raquel (the Tire Manager) answered the phone and changed my day completely. Over the phone, she explained to me all the pricing in a clear way and knew the difference between the two tire models I inquired about. Then, in person she explained everything again both to me and my girlfriend. The pricing information was absolutely clear, after speaking with her I understood all the charges and none were for unexpected or unusual/unneeded services. Everything was clear, she answered all of my questions, and turned my terrible day around in doing so. If you want someone that won't mislead you then come to this location. Raquel was extremely knowledgeable, experienced, helpful, and very clear in all her explanations. She explained how Firestone operates, which keeps me interested in utilizing them in the future speaking only positive words and useful information about their operations. While I waited, I noticed that one of the mechanics brought in a timing belt, just to show another customer. Their waiting room is large, and there was coffee which wasn't burned beyond recognition. They have good WIFI and football was on the TV. Down the street are a few places to eat (Raquel gave us directions). Another worker (maybe a different manager) seemed nice when he dealt with customers. It seems like the kind of operation that keeps people coming with the right types of business techniques which will drive a long-term customer base. I was discouraged by some of the other reviews, a phone call changed that and it could for you. It took 3 hours, they were quite busy but it wasn't an issue for me. Being open at 7 a.m., on Sunday, is a great start to the service I received from Lawrence and the Firestone crew. I went in to have a nail removed from my tire. Just expecting to have that one tire fixed, Lawrence took the initiative to performed in inspection of all the tires and provided me a report that all is fine with the rest of the tires and the one tire can be corrected. After the job was performed, in about 40 minutes from the time i arrived to the time I received my keys, I was reminded that there is no cost to me as a Firestone auto care member, to fit a flat. Always great service, value and quality. I've had oil changes, tires and minor services at this location for the last 10 years or so. The staff is A+ and will go above and beyond to assure you get the best care for your car. Recently I brought my tire in at 645PM---they close at 7. I was informed due to the lateness of the hour they could not repair my tire that night. I was fine w/ that but told them I had a trip planned for early the following morning. I got a call at 830 PM that the tire was fixed and to drop by anytime after 7AM and they would immediately put my repaired tire on. Great service yet again. And no charge at all since I had road hazard on my tire! Highly recommend! read more

I must say that I went to get my tires checked early Friday morning since it was low in pressure; thinking these guys would tell me that there is a nail on a tire and rip me off but it was totally the opposite. A technician named Ralph looked at my tires very carefully and said it was just low in pressure. The manager was great. He made sure I was taken care of. DID NOT CHARGE ME A PENNY. I've had problems in the past with this Firestone facility. I chalk that up to possible miscommunication. However, the tire pressure monitor light has been blinking. I took my car in to Firestone this morning. They should have connected it up to diagnostics to check what was going on. Instead, they put it on the hoist to look at it. I asked why they didn't simply do the diagnostic. They refused and said they would have to write up the work order first. I left because I didn't have 30 minutes to wait for them. I left and went 200 feet North to America's Tire. They promptly got out the diagnostic box, found that one sensor was not programmed properly, reset the system and I was on my way in under 5 minutes, NO CHARGE! Based on my last two experiences with Firestone I would have to say that best, this facility needs major improvement. read more

HIGH INTEGRITY!! I live in Torrance area and will pass hundreds of Firestones, PepBoys, and similar auto repair facilities just to come to this location. I find this entire staff to be honest and efficient, unlike the most other repair garages. They will go the extra mile for customer satisfaction!! They diagnose all problems, and will be honest in prioritizing immediate problems, and future problems that don't necessarily need to be fixed RIGHT NOW. I sent my wife in this morning on a quote to change all four tires. I sat by the phone and waited for a call, Nothing. She was thrilled with the service and she had requested to keep two tires as spares. They even wrapped the old tires in plastic and placed them in the trunk, not to soil the carpet. They provided her a quote for future tire rotation and when I reviewed the bill, it was a actually cheaper than the original quote. Wow, I call that service, thanks guys... Great Job! read more

I've already had 4 bad experiences with this place and I refuse to give them another chance. The first time, I was permitted to drive off with loose lugnuts. The second time, the coughing assistant passed on his nasty cold to me, and the third time, I was berated by the rude and aggressive man because I pulled into an empty bay instead of a parking space. He condescended me, not caring I had an appointment. He was like a parrot. Repeating over and over like it was a sadistic mantra "you cannot park here, you cannot park here. you cannot park here, you cannot park here". He hadn't even waited for me to respond. He just kept repeating it over and over like an autistic child. (If he is I apologize) Watch the video boss. (today 10:05 a.m.) Instead of helping me to safely back up, he immediately rushed to put the chains up on all the bays while giving me dirty looks. Clearly his priorities were not about safety matters at all but more about either expressing to me how annoyed he was or worried someone else will annoy him by driving into a bay during the next second while I'm backing out with my windowless van. Either way, his actions do not look professional and actions like that indicate a disturbed individual. Needless to say, I went inside to cancel my appointment (The man was inside and I tried to bypass him but he approached me) So I explained to him why I was cancelling my appointment (I told him I didn't like the way he told me I couldn't park in the bay) and then he aggressively followed me out! Shopping for tires and decided to try this place out since it's so close to my house and I wanted to support my local neighborhood. Waited in line to speak to this kid who was trying to sell an old lady 4 new tires when she only needed the front ones. (I saw her rear tires as I was leaving) stressed to her that the tires will pop due to the lack of thread and she would be back in the shop in a matter of days if she didn't buy the four tires. Anyhow, I let that go. Should of complained about elder abuse. So about my gripe, I needed two front tires as well, after waiting 15 minutes in line to get help this other guy comes in from the shop to assist. I tell him exactly what I want, no extras, no alignment...nothing! He quotes me 539 for two tires! I was flabbergasted since 6 months ago I had replaced the rear ones for $256 with tax...I told him this and he said that must of been a promo, so as he was typing away on the computer to see what he can do which I appreciated I went to costco tires and pulled my exact tire he quoted me and each one was 114. So total would of been roughly around the same I payed for the last set. $256 with tach...I told him and showed him on my phone and he said, "well we can price match it". I thought it over and decided to leave even though they were matching it simply because the business model they have. I took it to costco and spent roughly around $260. Decided to pay more for them and have the tires and installation done where I know the business has a good model... read more

I've use this Firestone several times. They are usually not very quick to get things done. My last two visits with two separate cars they haven't listened to what I've wanted done. On both occasions I've returned after asking for a tire change to find them doing unauthorized alignments and checking fluid levels after telling them specifically I didn't want that done. The customer service has always been decent. They are always polite and very respectful but for some reason they just have a tendency to not listen. I would like to give them a two or three star review, however after my most recent tire change from them the car was driving odd. I called them and they told me it was from not doing an alignment. I took my car somewhere else to find the alignment was fine but all four new tires had not been balanced properly. I will not ever return there again. read more

They are terrible. They charged me for $29.99 to locate a leak on my radiator and I went somewhere else and they did it for free. Plus they only have one guy at this location that does radiator/water pump repair and he wasn't working. My radiator replacement at another shop was $200 even and Firestone quoted me $438! Im surprised at all of the negative and not so shining reviews, This week we had our second encounter with this Firestone first one was a few years ago . My car ( a BMW ) recommends the Interstate battery and Firestone was the closet retailer. We got the heavy duty battery at a decent price and super convenient. Fast forward 28 months , my car would not start and had to be jumped weekly. I called and spoke to Lawrence and he looked up my purchase and said to bring it in for testing, took it in for a test and it was determined to be on the verge of " no good " He could have sent us away because the test showed that it was still acceptable, This was a 30 month free replacement battery that they no longer make He did not try to up sell me , in fact he was able to replace mine with a better one at no cost to me . Very recently, I had a tire replacement and alignment job done on my minivan at the Firestone Northridge, Californiay. The store manager Lawrence Carmel greeted me. He was sincere and courteous, explained everything to me that I need to know. The tire selection was great with competitive prices. The work quality was excellent and Very fast (both the replacemet and alignment took 2 1/2 - 3 hours in total). After I left my van with them, I walked across the street to a shopping mall. In no time, they called me to let me know my van was ready for pickup. At first I came to them by a family referral, but now, I became a patron myself.
