After diagnosing my issues, it was advised that I needed to get new rotors, brakes and suspension work. Long story short, I had to return three times within a couple of months because a grinding sound would return. First it was that they weren't properly tightened and had to leave it overnight. The 2nd time the car sat there for a couple of days before I called to see if there was any progress. They told me it was resolved. When I went to pick it up, it was as if it was never touched. The sound was still there. I had a supervisor take a spin in the car with me and he immediately heard it too, He didn't understand why it wasn't resolved. Each time I had to rent cars so that I wouldn't be on foot and had to go to work. With the third and "final" fix, they told me that I had to get Volvo OEM parts because the aftermarket parts didn't fit well and caused the noise issues. Again, more car rentals more days without my car, but they assured me I didn't have to pay extra even though the parts were better. Within a month the sound returned. I finally took it to a family Mechanic that was about 20 miles away and he discovered that they were bad parts. With barely a couple of thousand miles on these parts I had him put all the pieces every part in my trunk. The parts were still brand new, but it was clear even to the new manager at Pep Boys when I showed it to him. He said that he would check with his company to see what they can do about reimbursing me for these parts that were barely used, but bad. He asked me to wait until after the new year because of the holidays. Took my phone number, but I never heard from him again. The Pep Boys total job cost which I even took out their credit card for was over $2000. My mechanic dated for $700 and five months on the road and I have had no issues whatsoever with my suspension brakes or rotors. I don't know what they're doing there at that store or who the technician was that worked on my car, but it was the same one all three times as they stated it needed to be the same technician every time I took it back. He shouldn't be working there. I've officially moved on from ever using Pep Boys again and I still have these parts sitting in my garage as a reminder to not even consider them to put air in my tires. Avoid at all costs.

The gentleman at the desk told me it would be ready around 5:30. HE FAILED TO TELL ME THEY WOULDN'T CALL ME WHEN IT WAS READY AND THEY CLOSE AT 6PM! I have to spend the night locked out of my home because they have my car AND my keys. Not only do I not have my car for the night, I have no idea if the work was done. I am in awe the insanity of this situation.

We came back after exactly an hour and the car still hadn't been moved. We ended up having to wait another 35 minutes before we got the car back. They told me they would do an alignment check as well which was never done. I had a similar experience with this shop when I purchased the tires 6 months ago. I was happy with the price I got the tires for, but the service was slow. Last time, they took over 90 minutes longer than the promised time. I get it. Sometimes things get busy...but I have given them two chances now and both times I was disappointed. Don't plan on getting anything done quick here. If you are dropping off, then it may be fine. But if you are needing something done and don't have the ability to drop-off, plan for a good chunk of your day to be consumed and don't trust the given timelines. Hopefully they can improve the accuracy of their time estimates or better prioritize their customers to ensure better customer service.

Made an appt and was told they would have to air chisel it out and was quoted a reasonable price (lower than Firestone). Since they did a great job I also had them install my tires and did an alignment. They did a great job and the car feels firm. They did let me know I needed new rear brakes, which I didn't let them do. Why you ask? Because I just bought the brakes and did it myself. Boom easy 40 min job. Tuffys was great overall and pricing is about what you'd expect. I will have to come back for future services.

This location at Michigan and Delaney is dependable and quick - 15 minutes in and out for an oil change just as advertised. When I pulled into the business, I was greeted by Matt. I said I just needed an oil change, and he said to pull in behind the car in the bay area, and I would have no more than a 2-3-minute wait. True to his word, I pulled in within 3 minutes, and he was ready to service my vehicle. He properly explained my options, as well as any additional services I could consider after the free maintenance check. Similar to my last visit, no hard sell, just things to consider even for future service. Although I did not need any additional services, I did make a note of his recommendation to go with synthetic oil for my next change given the amount of mileage on my vehicle. I appreciated Matt's service and consultation. Finally, the Yelp app offered a link to coupons available for Valvoline's various services, and I received a $7 discount on my oil change. (Love the Yelp app!) Accordingly, my current review of this location retains its five stars.

To begin, I came in a few days back to get 2 news tires and an alignment. They took longer than they said they would, and before checking out my car I had to pay and sign. Soon after my appointment with them I noticed a big scratch on one of the rims (that are relatively new and definitely wasn't there before) and that my car when driving it still had the same drift to the right that it had before the alignment. So today I came back in to point out the scratch and mention the alignment didn't work. I went in today to mention the scratch and alignment issue, and the same big guy got super offended and instantly started to be very rude and told me "don't come in here doing that". Then he offered to check the alignment (which he is contractually obligated to do anyway) and had me give him my keys. I was on a very tight schedule and when I noticed many other customers there I had the feeling it would be a long wait and I didn't really want them touching my car again after further consideration. So I came back out after 20 or so minutes and asked for my keys from the same miserable dude who accused me of just coming in to blame him for my rims and I didnt even care that my car couldn't move straight. Mind you I wasn't sure what they did with them and his unqualified team also couldn't do the alignment right. I then made it clear to him that I wasn't sure about what they did with the rims and that I had a very busy day (which I'm taking time out of because this place is so awful) so I wouldn't have any time to wait for them to do the alignment as they hadn't even taken my car back yet. When I asked for my keys back a second time he straight up said "I don't wanna help you anyways" and I got them back and headed out the door. They had more diagnostics techs on staff so more flexibility in scheduling an appointment-something I needed sooner than later. The team itself was very efficient, offering the friendly, casual atmosphere. Though I said they could have the day they attended to my vehicle right away and finished in a shorter time frame than other locations I've been to. Also the manager took time to come out and say hello when I was checking out which is always appreciated and adds a personal touch and confidence boost that this is indeed a location that will do what needs to be done and fairly. Pricing was fair and in line with industry, Unfortunately my issue was not able to be corrected at the location due to it being more electrical in nature (they actually waived the diagnostic for me since unable to assist) but they did provide me recommendations on where to go for next steps. This is how I'd prefer it- instead of a branch simply tackling the project on their own and charging for things that would not actually help to get money and just to patch up to move the customer on the way to find more trouble down the road (literally). I'll definitely be returning personally when my next car need arises. If you're not sure of whether this location is or isn't for you I recommend giving them a go!
