Yesterday, as I was on a 45 minute drive for specialized physical therapy for my husband at the Parkinson's center at St. Joseph's Hospital when I noticed the pressure quickly going down in one tire. Very nerve wracking given the fact that my husband is completely wheelchair bound. I dropped him off at his appointment and drove over to Firestone hoping that they could at the very least fill the tire with air. Although they had a full schedule, they really helped me out. They found the problem and took care of it in a reasonable amount of time. They were kind and courteous, and the price was extremely fair. I would highly recommend this Firestone shop. read more

After 2 full days of my car left there they still hadn't completed the job and I had to wait for an additional hour so they could finish the job. BEWARE. I went to change two tires with a base pay of 95.99, but got charged 110.99 in which the clerks were insistent that the 110.99 price includes the $16 protection fee. Itemized bill reflects a charge 313.06 instead of 283.06 for the tires I requested. My bill TOTAL was $445.06 because of the EXTRA services I down right refused for. Instead of going in for simple tire purchases, I got ripped of on the tires and extra services I did not want and refused. The other services were wiper blades, changing the blinker bulb...made of up "recommended services". Also, the tech drained my battery so I couldn't even get in my car to leave. I had to re charge the battery and test the alternator elsewhere. My invoice wasn't canceled when I hit the "cancel" transaction, because of course they let me know my full balance after the transaction went through. I had done some itemized billing, so these numbers are updated to the ones I had jot down. I offered to leave my car to resolve these charges. I was sworn it would be fixed with their new 2 week manager who wasn't there and that not disclosing the additional fees just to change tires was a normal practice of theirs. This was done on May 14, it is now May 30 and their manager clearly didn't follow through. I do my tire purchases with Discount Tire, I will stay there. Can't even do simple work like oil changes since there is a risk of getting charged for refused "recommended services." read more

Out running errands when my low tire pressure light came on just as I was getting home. Noticed that there was an air leak and a piece of metal in the tire. Since I purchased the tires (and warranty) at Firestone I immediately drove there. I explained the situation to the older guy at the counter and he simply says "can't help you, don't have enough people, you have to go somewhere else". I explain the the pressure in the tire is very low and about to be stranded. "Sorry, can't help you". After purchasing multiple sets of tires at this location over the past 10 years, the staffs lack of concern for a repeat customer only means. I will never return to this location. read more

I come to Firestone because I have a credit card with them. In Tucson, the Firestone stores are few and far between unlike here in Phoenix where there is literally 3 at every four miles or so. I stop by today for an oil change and a few of the recommended services at 90,000 miles. I did not feel like being so the girls and I stayed for two hours and 20 minutes. We were quoted two hours and they weren't that far off. The only thing that sucked was that there was only one bathroom for customers and employees and 5 chairs to sit in a corner staring at TV. It was also not the cleanest location I have been to. Maybe it was just the day but I doubt it considering the amount of dust accumulating on the windowsills. The manager and assistant manager appeared to be very knowledgeable, honest, and realistic about the issues that are going on with my car. :-( read more

They are incredibly busy right now, probably due to people coming out of hibernation from the pandemic, cars sitting idle for a few months, etc. Despite all of this and having to work in the heat, the Firestone team knows how to treat its customers. $20 to fix a small hole in the tire once they realized I wasn't going to buy a new one. My little mom and pop tire place would have just fixed the flat, no up sell and charge me $15. I guess they used some new plug system instead of patching it "old school." My instinct tells me this is a convenience to them vs a better service to me. I'll have to look into that. (After looking into it a little I think they did a "plug patch" which is a premium way to go. So hats off for that part of the deal.) I also don't like being asked for a bunch of personal info when I am just getting a flat fixed. I'm not applying for a job or a loan! Just my first name and my money should be adequate. The one hour wait was also pretty lame. I hate corporate and love little places. The only reason they even get 3 stars is because they were close to where my flat trailer tire occured- unlike the mom and pop. After having problems with another Firestone, I brought my car to this location. Let me list off the problems I had at this location that lead me to avoid Firestone forever after: Wait times were terrible despite making appointments (as was the case with my prior Firestone) Got an alignment here, car was out of alignment again 4 months later. Took my car in for a rotation and they forgot to put the hub centering ring back in. Then they claimed that someone else must have done that. I wouldn't recommend this location or any Firestone. The real question now is if Yelp will leave this post up...my last post was taken down because I posted on multiple Firestone's that provided terrible service. read more

My car's engine light came on and the idle became extremely rough. My girlfriend had her car repaired at this Firestone location back in March. They had replaced the car's computer for her as well as a full engine tune-up. It wasn't cheap, but her car was running when it left Firestone. So, why not? I dropped my vehicle off on a Saturday. I told them the issue with it. They informed me it would cost $100 to plug the computer in and get the diagnostic codes for the check engine light. I also asked if they could take a look at the front end as the right tire was making a grinding sound when turning. After not hearing anything the next day, I called up and spoke with some Sour Puss. He sounded like he would rather be somewhere else. His first words to me were, "I don't know how much you want to put into this car, but it needs a lot of work." "Really? How much?" Sour Puss sighs and acts like he can't be bothered. "The parts store is closed today. I can't get you a quote until probably Monday." Fine. Monday arrives, I call back and he tells me it's going to cost $3000 for everything that needs to be fixed. I tell him that I can't get everything done, but what if he just circled the parts that would get the car running and fax it over to me? Hours later, I get a fax. It's laughable. For the engine, they're claiming that it's a leaking valve cover gasket and my plugs and wires are soaked with oil. They stated that the engine codes came back and IMPLICITLY indicated that this was the problem. For this specific repair, parts and labor would be about $700. They also claimed that the CV axle was broken and this is what was causing the grinding sound. That would be an additional $350 or so to fix. I picked up my car and paid $120 for what amounted to a bum diagnostic. They claimed that they did a computer diagnostic on it, but I never received the print out nor any paperwork of any kind showing the codes. I asked around and a co-worker told me of another place to take my car that did reliable work (check my other reviews.) I took my car to this other shop that my co-worker recommended. Believing that Firestone was correct in their diagnostic, I asked to have the plugs, wires and valve cover gasket replaced. They quoted me a little over half of what Firestone quoted me (about $400). Much to my amazement, they called me back a little later and asked me why I wanted to replace the valve cover gasket. "It's not leaking. There's a little beep of seepage, but this is not the problem." They ran a new diagnostic and found that the throttle body was missing a part. They were able to locate a replacement part from salvage. They were also able to accurately diagnose the wheel grinding. It turns out that the wheel hub was actually bent (I had bought the car used and a previous owner had apparently smacked a curb with it). Furthermore, when my car was fixed and returned (for several hundred less than what Firestone quoted), I was given an invoice that showed all of the diagnostic codes. Firestone never mentioned replacing the throttle body. They did mention that the wheel was bent, but didn't say anything about replacing it. Oh, but they did recommend that I get new set of front tires to replace the ones that were barely over a year old with less than 20K miles on them. I'm sure they would have recommended a change of "blinker fluid" had they thought they could get away with it. TL;DR: Firestone charged me $120 to misdiagnose my vehicle. They were rude, dismissive and had I actually paid for the repairs they recommended, my car would still not be running and I would have had to pay more to replace the part that was actually bad. I wouldn't trust these guys to change my wiper fluid. They will not be getting any future business from me. read more

Ok I'm docking a star on my previous reviews because every time I get a tire replaced there I have to go back because the PSI indicator is broken or malfunctioning. These guys were my saviours today. I needed to get a nail out of my tire and felt super anxious about driving with said nail in my tire. I couldn't find much help as it is Sunday, but thanks to Thomas S.'s review, I found this place and it happened to be open! Yay for lowering my anxiety! Sal was friendly and helpful. I did end up having to replace the tire (apparently driving with a nail in your tire for several days will kill your tire) but he was helpful in selecting an appropriate one and I didn't feel pressured or taken advantage of at all. I prefer car places that are able to lower my anxiety and aren't in the business of taking advantage of people who don't have a clue about cars. Open on Sundays if you are in a bind and great, efficient service! Hooray! read more

I drove into the building and Alejandro was very quick to help me. He was very knowledgeable in his work. Unfortunately I didn't have time to go through the whole process of purchasing a tire. Literally no stars. The absolute worst place to go if you need your car worked on. I went in there with a good number of problems on me car, ultimately there were three things that needed to be done to get it running and new brakes was one of them. When I got the car back later in the day Saturday I noticed it sounded like something was hitting my tire when I drove it, I tried to call but they were closed so I couldn't get it looked at again until Monday. I only drove it once more that night but by that time whatever was hitting my tire had stopped but the brakes no longer worked. I CAN NOT MAKE THIS UP. My car just rolled until it stopped it was the scariest thing I ever experienced. Monday comes and call I spoke with Michael who had been the ONLY person working in my car (says the other employees on Michael's day off) and told him about everything that was going on. HE told me to come in so he can look at it and when I got there he denied me service. Literally told me I'm not dealing with this if you don't like it you can call corporate. And of corse I did. He also filed a FALSE police report saying that he told me totally different things about my car then he actually did and other things as well and had me and my boy friend trespassed. Micheal also threaten my boyfriend with a wrench and called him the N word and some other offensive things. There were 3 other employees there one of which ran to his car and left and the other two stood inside and did absolutely nothing at all. I have never in my life had such a terrible experience. I have been getting my car serviced through Firestone for the last 10 years and I must say I'm extremely disappointed. Micheal should not be aligned to work here or services peoples cars at all. Very disappointed by unfriendly service, very slow and acting like "this is my hourly paying job, I don't care if I do it fast or not, if I am friendly or not, I still get paid the same rate". I was waiting for one hour just to check the blown tire on my sister's car to see if it needed a new one and there was only one car waiting ahead of me. What if I don't want to change it? Then I wasted my whole hour. I recommend go to discount tire store, which I usually go. They will check your tires within 15 mins of waiting then you can decide if you want to do it or not. I went in for an oil change expecting to pay about 40$.... the man who worked there applied a coupon for me (that I didn't bring in or know about).... 23$!!! How can I complain about that? They took about an hour to change the oil, but I wasn't waiting in the waiting room, so I'm not sure if it would have been faster if they knew I was waiting. Came in for a replacement tire. Another man wLks in with concerns on suspension. The questions he was being asked seem lije things that a quick test drive should have answered. As for me. I am having to buy a V rated tire, because that is what they have. Not normally what I would put in a Ford Edge. The cost out the door...$211.56. Very courteous and said I will be out in an hour. The lot was already backed up. He has a full appointment schedule and being a cold Saturday, it will likely get busier before the morning is over. read more

My mistake. I brought my car here knowing better. They would take an insane amount of time to just change a freakin tire. I have seen companies do this in less than 5- mins time. Who knew popping a headlight in and changing a tire would take as long as heart surgery. The guy I left it with was okay. While the guy I attempted to pick it up from was so awful that I swear he skins cats in his personal time. Stay away if it's Tim Murray that helps you. You'd be better getting help from a freakin convict. By the way after 5 and a half hours later they ONLY DID THE TIRE!!! They supposedly didn't have the headlight in stock so I asked why they were working under the hood of the car!? They said they took out the light and had to put it back in since they didn't have it. The Firestone store at 241 W. Osborn has the absolute worst managerial customer service I have ever experienced. Yesterday a car in front of me hit a heavy pipe in the road and sent it flying under my car. I heard a loud bang and pulled into the first parking lot I could to assess the damage. I couldn't immediately see much but when I started my car again the low tire sensor came on. Since my car has Firestone Tires on it, I went to the first Firestone store I could think of which was the above refrenced location. When I pulled in at approximately 2:30 there was a young man in the parking lot putting air in someone's tires. He asked if I needed air. I said I wasn't sure if that was the only problem and explained what happened. He directed me inside to speak with Tim, the manager.The vibe in the store was weird- there was Tim and Kim sitting behind the counter. Neither looked up or gave the standard "welcome to....can we help you?" I proceeded to tell them why I was there and was immediately told we can't get you in until next week. Based on some of the other reviews it seems the standard line is we are short handed, which is what I was told also. So, Tim then handed me a sheet of paper with other Firestone locations and told me "you can either go to one of them or there is a Discount Tire about 3 minutes away." What? You are going to send me to your competitor - really? While looking at the list of locations Tim handed me I notice several of the stores on the list were no longer open. I asked if he had a more current list. "No, I don't." was his reply, "but I know 36th St and Thomas is open." With a dead battery on my phone I asked if one of them could call and see if they had a slot open. Tim called and was told they had an opening at 6. By now its a little after 3 pm and I went to get in my car to head over to 36th st. The young man who i had learned was named Pedro had filled my tire with air and checked the others. As I am pulling out of the parking lot Pedro comes to my driver side window saying "ma'am you can't drive on this tire, I can hear the air coming out of it, can I put your spare on for you?" This coming from a regular hourly employee after the store manager turned me away rather than spend 15 minutes to assess the problem. That is the amount of time it took Pedro to put my spare on. As it turns out the tire was fine but the inside of the wheel had a big dent in it where the tire seals to the wheel. When Pedro saw that he said "this could have been very dangerous if you had driven on it." I am extremely grateful for that simple and very logical extra step Pedro took and thankful that he took my safety into consideration. What an outstanding employee this store is lucky enough to have in spite of very sub-standard management. Thank you Pedro. I feel certain that your actions possibly kept me from being involved in a very serious accident had the tire come off the wheel while I was driving. read more

I came in for an estimate for four tires. Two days later, I came back to discuss a reduction for the balancing. It happened to be a sale going on and the price went down. Great. Sale. But still $70.00 to balance 4 tires is a bit much and both sets of tires went up in price? larger in the rear...He seemed pissed i questioned his math. Reduced a bit and put the tires on. Get there... I noticed some anti freeze under the car but thought it was there already in front of the shop. By the time i got home i had zero anti freeze and it turns out there is a cut in my hose going from my reservoir to the radiator. It was gushing out. A damn cut. WTH. read more

I took my car into Firestone at 241 W. Osborn for an oil change and regular maintenance. They installed a new battery and they couldn't get the car alarm to turn off. I told them I lost the remote but the alarm was never an issue when I had batteries replaced there before. The store manager, Daryl Sander, said the car was ready to go. The alarm was blaring. I said I'm supposed to drive my car like that? With the alarm blaring? Daryl Sander shrugged at me and said yes. After insistence from my husband and me that having the alarm blaring all the time was unacceptable, we were told to leave the car overnight and a tech would fix the alarm the next morning. So the next morning they tell me the car is ready. What did they do? They cut the alarm wire to the speaker. So the alarm is still going all the time but it can't be heard. Daryl Sander is the worst person I have ever dealt with there. How in the world is he a manager?? We are pursuing a new alarm system being installed at Firestone's expense since they ruined the current alarm. DO NOT GO TO THIS FIRESTONE UNLESS YOU ARE OKAY WITH THEM WRECKING YOUR VEHICLE. Don't let Daryl Sander anywhere near your vehicle. He is terrible. read more

I scheduled an appointment to have my battery tested/replaced at this location. When I took my car in at the scheduled time, I was told they didn't know when they would be able to look at the car as it had to queue behind all other cars there. What is the point of making an appointment if this is their policy? For items like tires and batteries, I would expect an appointment time to be honored. Bottom line, Firestone had my car for ~7 hours and they never even looked at the battery. I ended up going to Pep Boys where they honored my appointment time and had me in and out in 20 minutes. read more

I was not expecting to give them an A, but nothing went wrong! They had a special for an oil change and tire rotation (it ended up being a bit less than $20 including tax and shop fees). I asked them to rotate the tires according to my owner's manual & I gave them the diagram. I had marked the tires before going, and I verified that they actually did rotate them the way I had asked. I assume they used the correct oil for my car, as the type of oil was noted on the receipt. When I got home, I looked under the car to make sure they changed the oil filter, and they did. The oil level was also where it should be. Usually when a shop advertises an oil change & rotation with such a low price, it's to get you in the door to sell you other repairs you might need. They didn't even mention anything else... I just paid & left. Not surprising, since my car only has 23,000 miles on it. He said the car would be ready in 2 hours. I walked across the street to Staples & then to Safeway, and when I got back (in about an hour) the car was ready, and parked in the shaded parking spots! I don't give out an "A" rating often, but can't find any faults with this place (darn it!). read more

However, unlike the other shops I tried, this store treated be as if I was buying hundreds of dollars in merchandise. I've been to this Firestone 4 times now, twice for our own vehicles and twice for visiting relatives with a tire problem. Each time I found them to be honest (which is rare with repair shops, including dealerships), fixing or replacing the tires or other problem in a timely manner, and a pleasant display of good customer service. Requests were met and questions were answered. Also, their hours are long and daily, which is convenient if you have a problem at a bad time. I've had suspicions of dishonesty and unneeded work at dealerships for our vehicles, so my trust level isn't high. This place was fair 4 out of 4 times. If you want a quick and easy oil change, this may not be the place for you. The staff is really nice, pretty helpful. I had made an appointment for an oil change and an AC performance check, because they said they were too busy to take my car as a "walk in". A little annoying but I get that they get busy. When I went in for my appointment, they took me right away. I then walked to a near by Starbucks to wait for my car. After about an hour they called me telling the parts I needed for my AC and asked if I wanted it fixed. They said it would take about another hour to finish. After an hour, I hadn't received a call from them. So I walked back to check on my car (at this point they had had my car for about 3 hours). When I got there, they said that my part for my car had just came in and it would be another couple of hours wait. The only problem is that I had a different appointment that I had to leave for. (I thought 4 hours would be sufficient time). They, in the end, didn't charge me for the AC but asked me to come back on a different day to finish it. So, not the worst service, my car is running better. But not the quickest service either. I underestimated how much work needed to be done. I will go back, because they did a good job, I just wish their communication was a LITTLE bit better. Overall pretty good! read more

Being in a bind they were able to work with me to be sure that I was able to get to work safely and did an amazing job with my vehicle. I have been a customer of this Firestone location for the last 5 years. My car is on the older side and they have gotten a fair amount of business out of it over those years with some not-so-insignificant repairs in the mix. They've always done a fine job. So, it was only natural to call last week on Thursday morning when I found coolant leaking underneath my car. Worst. Decision. Ever. From the very first phone call, it felt like nothing but an inconvenience to bring them my business. After enduring some attitude from the person on the phone, they eventually they decided it was ok for me to drop my car off on Saturday morning. When I did, I was asked if I wanted them to just figure out what was wrong with it, or if I would want them to fix it too. Well, yes, please fix my broken car - this is why I'm bringing it to you. Then I was told if it needed a repair, it would likely take until Sunday afternoon. Fine. I didn't hear from them the rest of the day. Or the next morning. I finally called THEM on Sunday afternoon for a status update and low and behold they did have a quote in the system for the repair, just no one had called to discuss it with me. Can't start the work without an "ok" on the quote first. Furthermore, they now had no one working that could do the repair that day, but stated that someone would be in tomorrow that could repair my radiator. So they kept my car another night. Monday afternoon rolls around and I get a call stating that, in fact, they couldn't get to my car again and would need to keep it until Tuesday to perform the repair. Now we are at 6 days that I haven't been able to drive my car, 4 of which were spent literally just parked at this Firestone. I was finally able to pick up my car at the END OF DAY on TUESDAY, for a radiator repair. When I voiced my frustration, I didn't even receive so much as an apology for the delay. As convenient as this location is, I will never bring my business back. So long Firestone. read more
