Metal of skid plate out. Scraping along freeway.
    Andrew O.

Had an oil change done here. Within a week the skid plate was screeching on the freeway. Mechanic didn't screw it back on properly. They did replace without a fee, but the lack of communication was a bit frustrating and the time it took out of my schedule to get the new skid plate on was challenging for scheduling. Spent around an hour and a half waiting for them to install. Took over a week till I learned the replacement skid plate was with them (I had kept following up who knows when they would have reached out). Would look elsewhere for mechanic work.

Email I recieved alerting me of issues with my truck. This did not match work actually agreed to. Technician didn't understand this printout

So, we hope all good things start at the beginning of a hopeful relationship. My 2011 Toyota needed to be serviced at 110,000 miles. I live in downtown Phoenix, and less than a mile from a name-brand shop, Firestone. Everyone knows the brand. But it ends there. The most positive part of this experience was that I called them on a Sunday, and Tim answered. I explained what I needed, and he scheduled my appointment for Monday. Great, I thought. I perused their website for coupons, and that's when I saw that you could make an appointment online as well as provide detailed information as to what you needed. I did that as well, just to be sure. I showed up at the appointed time, Monday, at 8:30 am; Tim was at the desk. He informed me that the information I entered on the website did not automatically populate; he had to input that information. We are in the 21st Century; really? Tim was courteous and professional. I explained what was needed at 110,000 miles. Tim said that the vehicle would need to be left for the entire day, and services would be done throughout the day. He went on to say that I would receive an email alerting me of the issues with my truck, and a technician would then contact me. Around 1:00 pm, I received an email with the recommended repairs for my vehicle. The email stated not to call them, they would contact me when the evaluation was complete. I waited until 2:30, no one contacted me. I called, and Daryl went through the email I received. He quoted prices for each of the items listed in the email. He went on to tell me that if there were an issue, he would call me back. I heard nothing. Knowing that they closed at 6:00, at 5:30, I called and was told that my vehicle would be ready at 5:50. I arrived to a line of individuals who were not happy. They had been in line for a while as the individual at the counter could not find the current customer's ticket. When I was finally able to speak with the technician, he had no clue regarding the email I received compared to the printout ticket he was going over with me. Bottom line, what I received via email was a bogus document that the technicians are unaware of. Firestone completed three of the nine items on the list provided to me. I was told that I could come back and have the rest done. They had my vehicle for the entire day. Bottom line, if you want something simple done, like an oil change, Firestone on Osborn may be more expensive than other places, but they are centrally located. Other than that, several shops in midtown Phoenix will be more customer-centric and attentive than Firestone on Osborn.

Came out n apparently techs don't put wear gloves at Firestone.

Oh boy, where to begin. So I have the lifetime alignment on my vehicle. Made the appointment, confirmed the appointment beforehand. I show up at 7:45 for my 8am appointment. I tell the Service Writer Ron that "I do NOT want an inspection of my vehicle" and also state that my driver window can't be rolled down all the way as I know shops like to keep that window open due to the Az heat and also just in case the doors lock. He confirmed no inspection and put the note about my window down. I ask for an approximate wait time, he states "1 hour." Totally reasonable for an alignment. WELL, a little over one hour into my appointment, I GET AN INSPECTION EMAIL, which means they haven't even started on the alignment....which then proceeds to take the technician over TWO HOURS which left me sitting in those uncomfortable seats for 3 1/2 hours. I ask for the manager, and surprise surprise, it was the only other guy at the counter which I could've spotted a mile away. I ask "why did you perform an inspection when I explicitly stated I declined it and Ron confirmed? Manager says "i have no answer for that." So to leave out some words, I voice my frustration with my 3 1/2 hour wait and services being performed that they were told NOT TO DO, and rather than the manager actually using customer service skills and trying to apologize for the inconvenience and calming me down by de-escalating the situation. Just says that I don't need to swear and does his best to verbally push me out the building. So I call a neighboring location for Regional Managers information, well apparently Firestone employees "cant give out that information" but he happily took all my information down along with reason why I want it and claims the Regional Manager will call me. I'll bet you anything though, the manager at this location will be the first one getting a call though. 3 states, and 5 or 6 cities later with this company and I'm finally done. I don't care about this Lifetime Alignment, I will happily go to another shop in the future and pay full price for alignments. FIRESTONE AS A WHOLE IS ONE OF THE WORST REPAIR SHOPS OUT THERE AND THEY GIVE THE INDUSTRY A BAD NAME

Same loose wires as before on passenger side but goes all around the car and under the wheel well. Why?!!

However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.

I understand that automotive work can sometimes take longer than expected, but after an hour and a half I had to ask for an update because no one had communicated the delay. I noticed on the front desk computer that I was entered into the system as a drop-off, even though I was waiting for my vehicle. I always wait during appointments, and if that impacts how service is prioritized, it should have been confirmed when scheduling. I also noticed there appeared to be either a misunderstanding or scheduling issue with another customer who had an appointment after mine, which raised concerns about how appointments were being managed. When I asked for an update on the timing, the response I received felt dismissive. The employee responded that "nothing is ever a half an hour, not here, not any shop." I understand that estimates can change and that inspections may take longer than expected, but my concern was not that it took longer--it was that I was given an estimate, waited significantly beyond that timeframe, and had to ask for an update myself. The employee told me he would check on the timing and get back to me, but I did not receive an update afterward. Instead, he returned to the office and continued working with vehicles. Another employee also said he would check on the status and where the first employee was at, but I did not receive an update from him either. A simple update or revised timeframe would have gone a long way. The inspection, which was quoted at approximately 30 minutes over the phone, ultimately took about two hours and cost around $100. The findings included recommended back strut replacement, brake fluid service, and a battery replacement, with an estimated total of around $1,760. They also identified a bent rim, but I did not appear to receive a quote for that item despite requesting one. I have no doubt that their technicians have the knowledge and skills to diagnose and repair vehicles, and that expertise has value. However, expertise does not replace the need for clear communication and respect for a customer's time. I was hoping for a shop that values the customer's time as much as their own. Given this experience, along with pricing that appears to be higher than other shops I have compared in the area, I am uncertain whether I will return for future service. I hope the shop improves its scheduling process and communication with customers when delays occur. ******* Edit in response to their Google review commentary: It's worthwhile to note the company response below essentially argues pricing (which was never contested as explained in my above review). The pricing was provided for other individual's knowledge of business pricing and a stated reason for hesitation in repeated business. There was no argument to the state of the car either-- it's at a shop as it needs repair. I went to one other business, not multiple as was stated in person and over the phone-- indicating a lack of clarity again with notation on client accounts more publicly-- and and was quoted half an hour of my time with no updated timeline despite two requests to one staff member as well as the owner, Jesse, who just walked away. The Argumentative and dismissive responses on the stated concerns in the severe lack of timing and communication are what have just ensured I do not return to this establishment and suggest others take a closer look at what shop they choose for the work on their vehicles.

How wrong I was. After having it several days, they tell me that they can't fix the original problem because they "Couldn't find the part - and wouldn't install an after-market part off of Ebay" (My car is a 1999 w/ low mileage) Then the real Clinker after 3 days: They call and say, "We couldn't fix your problem, but come and get your truck and pay Christian Bro's nearly $200 bucks for a "diagnostic" that I WAS NOT INFORMED UP FRONT would cost anything at all! But also, this 'Diagnostic' informs me that my truck needs OVER $4300 DOLLARS in servicings and repairs - Including NEW BRAKES that, apparently the "Diagnostic expert" wasn't aware had been replaced by them on that very truck a few months earlier! I felt totally taken advantage of and complained to the manager, John, who gave me some "yada yada" and stated that that particular employee working the front desk was fired - However, and this is the whole point of the story - This manager of this multi-million dollar, allegedly 'Christian', gold-mine on the corner of Thunderbird & 75th Ave would NOT refund all, or any part, of this deceitful charge with a humble apology for their unscrupulous employee (note: Failure to disclose a COST right up front is a LIE ) Not only that, but Upsell #1 opened the door for MEGA-UPSELL #2 of $4,319 dollars! I STILL look back at this lengthy report with shock and awe. According to this diagnostic that I didn't ask for, there's no reason, whatsoever, my truck is still able to roll down the street. According to them, practically EVERYTHING on my vehicle is on it's last couple of miles.; Lastly, and final insult to my patronage, my age, my intelligence, nor would Christian Brothers even offer a discount or a half-off on the next visit to them. You know, a way of saying, "We still want your business". I think they saw a senior-woman and saw a dumb sucker ready to be plucked out of the stream of suckers. In that lone experience, I learned Christian Brothers is all about "Show me the $ MONEY $" They are only after the money, and customer retention is completely moot. They could care LESS if you are a returning customer. I am no longer using Christian Brothers for any auto repair needs. If anyone knows of an HONEST, caring, competent auto mechanic around Peoria/Glendale please be so kind as to DM me. I'm shopping for one. **I tried to scan & copy the actual Invoice from this incident, but for some technological mystery beyond me - I couldn't get this file search in Yelp to access where I am sure I put the two files.**
