My Ford Explorer was slipping all over the road in the most minimal amount of snow, but fine on dry pavement. I bought it to Firestone for an alignment in hopes to fix the problem. This did not fix the problem. I called Firestone and was told to bring it in for a test drive when we would be able to recreate the problem. We went for a ride and it was INSISTED that I needed 4 new tires because the rubber was hard and snow/slush was getting stuck in the tread mimicking "bald" tires. My tires were 4 years old, 19000 miles and had a 7 tread depth remaining which should be covered under warranty. So, the woman at the desk picked up the phone, called Goodyear, acted like she were a family member of mine and sent me down there. Once I arrived at Goodyear, I was told there is NOTHING wrong with my tires. Trusting that the Firestone employee (who claimed to have 30 years experience) knew what he was talking about, I called Goodyear corporate and they warrantied my tires (1/2 price, almost $800). This did not fix the problem either (because I DID NOT need tires). Again, go back to Firestone $800 poorer. The new "manager" approached me with a cocky, arms folded, eye rolling attitude and proceeded to say "What would you like us to do about it? Just because you were told to get new tires, didn't mean you HAD to." My truck was unsafe and I am not a mechanic...so yes, I am going to trust that Firestone employees know what they are talking about. I ended up going to Cole Muffler DESPERATE to find a solution as my truck was extremely unsafe to drive in Rochester, NY winters. The problem??? The rear toe (part of the alignment which was the FIRST thing I attempted) was WAY off!!! If Firestone would have done their job in the first place, I would have saved a lot of time, money, aggravation and safety. I have written to the email suggested...got the run around, no call back from corporate and they closed the case without any resolution. read more

I needed new specialty tires for my vehicle and Firestone made the whole process easy--especially with their Black Friday discount. Linda was absolutely wonderful to work with. She called me several times to confirm my appointment and to let me know when the tires arrived, and she kept me updated throughout the entire process. As soon as my vehicle was ready, she reached out right away. Linda was incredibly friendly and personable, and it's clear she takes a lot of pride in her work and her store. She even walked me through financing options with a Firestone credit card, which was really helpful given the cost of specialty tires. It has been 12 days since the adjuster assessed the damage and Firestone has not taken care of me!! It has been 22 days since the incident and I have yet to recei a call from Jillian who is assigned to the claim, she just left a message. Her boss left a message too- Jillian is swamped with claims be patient.... WOW!!! Firestone's claims department is overwhelmed!!! This is a HUGE statement as to the POOR SERVICE that Firestone gives to their customers across the country!! SHAME ON FIRESTONE!!!! if I could give zero stars I would!!! read more

Number of issues. Attempting to schedule an appointment and get a clear and concise plan of action is near impossible. After every call I've made I was left with more questions than answers. The only answer I got was what time to bring the vehicle in. If you tell them that the vehicle has electric problems and it could be coming from the battery, they will only check the battery and that's it. It took FOUR hours to change ONE tire. There was no update provided during those four hours, as well as no warning prior. "It will be done when it gets done" kind of attitude. Even other customers in the waiting area expressed the same sentiment regarding lack of understanding, being made aware, and time issues mentioned above. To sum it up, entirely lackluster. read more

Took my car into FireStone at 8am for a tire rotation and an oil change. I had made an appointment last week. 4 hours later they finally decided to start working on my car. Told me it would be 15 minutes. 30 minutes later they finally finished. If I wasn't living in an apartment, I would have done this myself because it's maybe a 30-45 minute job in total. I don't do it myself because my apartment complex doesn't allow residents to do maintenance on a vehicle on their lot. I find it hysterical when they want to give me the run around when I know how long this should take. In short, I'm over FireStone. I came from Florida where they were just as bad. Once, they didn't even put oil in my car and they gave it back to me while happily taking my money. read more

As an out of state visitor, I had the bad luck of getting a flat tire. But the Firestone service I had on a previous trip to Rochester was so good, I called them again. A service rep named Dan helped me find this store from a another Rochester location, over the phone. I told Dan I needed four tires and wanted a sale. Dan called around so that I would have four of the tires I needed for my car type and on sale and closest to my location. Eddy was very professional and helpful to me at this Firestone location. Eddy knew I needed an alignment after the tires were installed and then discovered a broken ball joint. I was glad to get that repaired. In no time, my car had four new tires, a great repair job, and an alignment. I drove back to Virginia and Eddy was right - it was a very smooth ride. The mechanic greeted me well, and considering he worked past six on a Sunday over a holiday weekend, he was doing great to smile and say hello. read more

I have been a regular Firestone customer in multiple cities and a couple different states since I started MANY years ago going to an Expert Tire store and have been regularly satisfied with the service I received at nearly every facility. This location, however blew me away. Before even going in, I called to inquire about whether my needed services were offered at this location and, if so, to schedule an appointment. I was greeted by an extremely friendly and knowledgeable gentleman named Eric who was patient with my "20 questions" and promptly got me and my vehicle in on MY schedule. Upon arrival at the store, I was immediately taken aback at how clean and well maintained every part of the facility was...from the parking lot to the customer lounge all the way to the cozy restrooms. When I was greeted by Brian and checked in, again I was impressed by the level of attention and professionalism displayed. He asked what I was there for and paid close attention to all the details of my inquiries and complaints. I was in for 180,000 mile service, lifetime alignment check, and tire rotation, but had also noticed a couple of other issues I was hoping to get looked at and corrected if possible. He broke down the possible causes in easy to understand language and how much it could change the time I'd be there, as well as the possible increase to my repair costs in all cases. He then allowed me to decide how to proceed, if at all. I never once felt "duped" or like I was being roped into unnecessary services or repairs with these gentlemen. On the contrary, I felt like these were people I could trust to be honest and upfront with me. Often, especially as a lady in a mechanic shop, I get the feeling that these folks think I am less-than-knowledgeable and can pull one over on me. Not these gentlemen! I felt respected and walked out with my vehicle in tip-top shape after receiving WAY more than I had expected for what I had paid for and what I normally see from similar facilities. To Whom It May Concern: I currently live in Boston, MA. While I was visiting Rochester, NY (my hometown) this past weekend for for labor day - I was preparing to bring my 2001 grand am Pontiac back to MA. The car would shake when taking it over 50 MPH, I called my grandfather who is a former mechanic and he told me I needed my tires balanced. After dropping the car off to Sears Auto in Greece on Sunday I had a terrible experience. They charged me for work they didn't do and also didn't solve the problem. Frustrated that my car still shook and annoyed that my time had been wasted I went desperately searching for a mechanic who could give me a second opinion, fix the problem and in a timely manner. Upon entering Firestone I was greeted by Bryan, the stores GM, and after attempting to give him my speech about what was going on with my car and the terrible experience I just had he stopped me and said "Brittany, what do you need solved? What is the problem? Why did you come in today?" A simple question that was a great sales tactic and built trust immediately. Phil the mechanic who worked on my car went through rigorous tests to find the problem. It was not just a simple case of a tire balance - there were a lot of extremes and challenges with the car that required a fine attention to detail. I brought my car in because it was shaking at 50 mph and after the group at Firestone worked on it, it no longer shook. It was a smooth ride back to Boston and I cannot be more grateful to them! They also assessed the wear on my breaks and I will be taking the car to a Firestone in Boston this week to get them fixed. They have my recommendation and I will now be a returning customer / client in Boston. Thanks a lot guys! read more
