The wife got a flat with a large bolt in the top of the tire. Called Lewis general tires to make sure they have the correct tire in stock in the case the tire needed to be replaced. Guy on the phone said they were booking out 2 weeks. Told him tire/rim was off the car and I could drop it off. Told me he couldn't guarantee it would be done today. I've had this happen a bunch of times and every shop always says yes we'll take care of it no problem. Recently spent a good amount of money there and thought it was a decent family owned business. With three kids and having to work evening shift, calling a family tire shop I didn't think they'd have a problem with a simple tire repair or mounting a new tire. I couldn't be any more wrong. Just wanted other family men to know if your wife blindly often runs over stuff in the road and you need a quick fix to keep your family van going, don't go to this place. Update!!! Lewis Tire did me right and called me back and replaced all lug nuts at no charge. I thought Lewis Tire was a decent shop for tire mounting and balance, but I was wrong. Every lug nut on the vehicle were deformed and I couldn't get the proper socket on any of them. Glad I didn't have to change a tire on the road side. Went there in person and the supervisor said this happens...but on all of them...seems like a strange coincidence doesn't it? This ain't NASCAR hammering away on those things. So, he said he wouldn't replace them and it's on me to replace them at my expense. I've worked on cars since I was 15 yo and still do all my work because of this incompetence. Drove by this place for years, never went. One day, saw great reviews on tire buyer, so I sent my tires here. First class experience, from making an appointment, to checking in, and getting service. In general, you have to be really really careful not to get ripped off by tire, muffler and brakes places around town. This place has been around for 100 years, one of the first General Tire dealers. The reviews are not wrong. I will probably come back for shocks soon, a great complement to dealer serice. They work on trucks, so theyre pros and dont need to nickel and dime you. I'm a woman. A typical woman who doesn't give much thought to her car, except that when I turn the key...it better start! My parents had gone to Lewis General for years and had spoken highly of Louie, the manager and front desk manager, so I figured I could trust them. I purchased a four year-old Honda Accord from John Holtz. It was a leased vehicle prior to my ownership. That poor car must been ill treated because I was taking it to Lewis' regularly and frequently spending over $1000 each visit. Louie was kind, the waiting room was clean, it felt like a trustworthy place. I took CarCar (that was her name) to Lewis' for more than five years. There were several times when the car was returned to us in less-than-desirable shape: one time it literally would not start and we had to have it towed back to Lewis (on our dime). They acknowledged installing a defective part and replaced it free of charge, but no compensation was made for the inconvenience of the second day that we were without a vehicle. Another time the car was making a funny sound, which I explained, they diagnosed partially correct so the repair required a second visit, and more money. My Mother had an issue with her car, which she purchased in Ohio. She took it to Lewis and was informed that an entire section needed to be replaced, a repair that would cost nearly $1700. (Sorry, my womanhood is kicking in and I cannot recall what section or purpose it served.) She was going to Ohio to visit friends the following day and decided to take the chance and have the dealer there look at it. The dealer told her there was no need to place the entire system. It was repaired for a fraction of the price at the dealership. THE DEALERSHIP! Do I feel Lewis had been ripping off my family all those years? I would hope not. Perhaps they have an extraordinary high overheads and need to compensate with higher rates. The lobby has a notebook full of complimentary letters from satisfied customers, the most recent letters dated back five or six years. Perhaps they were a solid, trustworthy company at one time and inflation and labor-training costs and other factors caused them to change. Perhaps they are more familiar with larger, American cars and trucks. I am not sure. As much as I would like to give this place a positive review, based on my own personal experience, I simply cannot. read more

In the time that I have had my car(over 7 years) I have been to several different tire service centers including Dunn tire, Mavis and Goodyear before I finally decided to try Lewis General tire. I learned the expensive way I should have gone to them first. Mavis used to be my go-to tire center but after saving about $60 switching to Lewis General tire for the exact same four tires was quite a nice surprise. Now when it comes service they were super quick (I was in and out in under 30 minutes)and the staff was really polite. If you haven't been there I would highly recommend you give them a visit next time your car needs service. read more

What can I say, this place deserves recognition over and beyond my expectations. I had my 2003 Cadillac Escalade at Valley Cadillac several times for an intermittent electrical issue, and THEY couldn't figure it out. I was told to talk to Louie at Lewis General Tires, and he got me in the same day, and his team of technicians figured out the problem, WHILE I SAT IN THE WAITING ROOM!!!!! I was in and out within 3 hours, and that included diagnosing AND repairing the problem!! I can't tell you how many HUNDREDS of dollars I had spent on having the dealer ATTEMPT to fix my problem. My bill with Lewis General Tires? $280!!!!!!! Problem fixed!!! I have found a new shop to be able to feel comfy with, literally! Honesty and Integrity!! Lewis was recommended to our family from a friend and we have nothing but great treatment, fantastic service and fair pricing.I recently had work done on my vehicle that clearly was desperately needed as it it is driving so much better now, but the real story here is the honestly and integrity that I know I am getting from them. I had my vehicle fixed 6 days ago, paid the bill and have been nothing but pleased with the repairs. I am not someone that knows anything about cars, nor do I pretend to know anything about parts or part names etc. so when I look at the itemized statement, it literally meant nothing to me; a thing-a-ma-jig, or a hub assembly...i don't have a clue. I got a call this morning from Louie stating that they had accidentally charge me for a quantity of 2 of something that they only should have charged me for 1 of and that I was due a credit! I don't have a lot of faith in society these days because everyone is out for themselves and the almighty dollar, but Lewis Tire has restored some of my faith!
