Run, Run, Run!!!!!!!! Very Sad seeing what I saw yesterday. Came in with a screw in my tire, it was still holding air. Waited for almost 2 hours to bee seen . Upon arrival I was told that I possibly need a new tire that it may not be repairable. While I was waiting I saw and listened to other customers. People were coming in for oil changes being told there brakes were bad. One lady came in for front tires they told her your rear tires are worse you need all four. Every person left with an additional estimate or problem. Eventually my name was called and just what I thought would happen did happen. Sir I have bad new for you your tire could not be fixed you need to replace it. My tires only have 10,000 miles on them and the screw was in top tread of tire. I said why can't it be fixed the salesman said the screw was in the sidewall. I've been around a long time and never knew that they now consider the top of the tire a sidewall. I told them to take my car off the lift. Had my tire patched today at a reputable tire shop on the other side of Hylan by McDonald's. Disgusted from what I saw , people do your homework first!!!!!!! Being honest, I usually do not write reviews, unless it is a complete slap in a face. I came for a NYS inspection yesterday 3/7, which is due by the nd of the month at around noon time and was told will be taken care of. 20 min later I wastold that my car failed safety inspection with a printout reason windshield and other glass. I said I have only rear windows tinted and got answer it was still illegal, asked why would not he (Justin) told me before taking my car that he would not be able to pass it for obvious reason and got answer that it was not his responsibility to tell me about the "law" that was allegedly dated 01/01/17. What a customer service! So I had illegally past inspection on this car for 3 years and now all of a sudden someone is enforcing the alleged law on me during a NYS inspection without telling me about it first. Granted when I came back and said that I will dispute the $37 (it is not about that, but why should I pay for such great customer setvice) with my cc company, store manager David S. refunded my money, but even then Justin would not stay aside, he told David that he only had to give me back $10 since my car passed emissions inspection. I was going to this place for more than 5 years with battery need, oil changes, etc. I never had any issues.They lost a customer in me and all people I will have a chance to tell this story. I am failing to understand why. Even when I tried to reason with Justin he would tell me that I clearly wanted him to break th "law" and I told him all I wanted is for my car to pass inspection, and if he could not do it, for the reason seen outright in a clear daylight, I would expected him to tell me that before failing it and reporting it to state computer system. Today i went to the FIRESTONE HYLAN BLVD Staten Island location. I asked if they would price match an oil change from Midas for full synthetic for 49.99 they said no because they only use Pennzoil platinum oil. So I said okay. Then i watched them put in carquest brand oil into my car. So I comforted them about it he said they ran out of the other oil and used this one. I said when I asked you you said u don't price match because u only use Pennzoil platinum oil. I said it's fine if u ran out of it but u should of told me before u did it. So he said your right we are gonna order the Pennzoil platinum oil right now and I'll have the guy replace the oil and the filter again. So if firestone is an exclusive Pennzoil platinum oil change place. Why is another oil even being bought? Also I had an alignment done on 12/18/2017 i had the angle steering sensor light on which i was told would go off after i drove 20 miles after the aligmenet. I went back today because after over 100 miles light was still on. I was told that they couldn't do the alignment because the rear tower bushing was bad. Now I was never given the paper so I know how off the alignment was that day. Since today I was lied too I wanna know if the proper alignment last time.was done or they just took my money. Today I was actually refunded my money on the alignment Also after the whole oil change eposide the manager gave me the price match from Midas as a courtesy. I am not happy, Joe Seth and Giancarlo were the managers on duty and weren't professional at all. And something needs to be done to correct this problem. I have also taking pictures of many cases of the car quest oil that is in the shop which proves you are not an exclusive Pennzoil platinum stores. I don't care about what oil was used the main point is that I was lied to. When I asked for cooperate phone number the store manager told me he didn't have it's, but made sure he told me he just went to a training class. My whole point I am a customer for many years and have the firestone credit card I was a customer for life but now with lying I have lost faith in this store. I always saw memes of people going to mechanics and getting screwed over- I could never relate until today. Heard hissing from my tire and saw the nail. Being that it's Sunday and no other place was open- I panicked and went right away to the only tire place that was open. They first told me it was a 2 hour wait so I was already annoyed. I wait the two hours to get a phone call that my tire cannot be plugged it's too close to the wall and I have to pay 190$ for a brand new tire on my lease that goes back next month. So I took my car and left for a second opinion. My nail was in the center of my tire- they said yeah if it was punctured maybe an inch more to the right I would have been out of luck. Clearly this location seen a young girl in desperate need with a slight attitude walk in and wanted to scam me. Nice try! Never again. My date of service was 11/27/21 , technician 11 Michael and service advisor 6 Brian informed me that my front breaks needed replacement as per the diagnostics they gave me in July 2021. I asked for a full diagnostics panel to be run to be sure that it was the only front breaks that required service at that time as I was willing to pay for any necessary charges and wanted the most accurate answer. Both the technician and service advisor reiterated that it was only my front breaks that required service and ensured me that a full diagnostic panel was run and that was all that was needed during my visit. Invoice totaled $460.48 for complete vehicle inspection, tire rotation, battery check, air pressure check, front break service and break fluid exchange. Last night 01/01/22 at approximately 7pm ( 35 days post firestone appointment ) as I was driving home both my break pedal and gas pedal started making grinding noises ( which was to my surprise considering firestone " replaced my break pads , rotors and axls ) . I had to bring my car to be serviced on 01/02/22 where the mechanic revealed completely worn away back break pads , rotors and calipers ( with pictures to provide ). I have not yet contacted firestone but will be doing so soon to pursue action as I would like a full refund for the misdiagnosis as well as my safety being put in jeopardy for lack of attentiveness by the employees. I feel completely unsafe using this firestone for my future services. read more

Please, I implore you, DO NOT GO to this place. It's run by a bunch of scam artists/ex-con mechanics. I went here to get an oil change, and they asked if I would like to align my tires. I, of course, said no. I didn't need to because my car was fairly new (about 7 months old). Well, guess what? They ruined my car. After I was done with the service, I drove my car and noticed that my car was making an odd noise. I didn't really make much of it at that point, but this problem persisted, and worsened (it started shaking!) for at least two weeks, before I went to the car dealership, and they said that one of the axles was damaged. That simply isn't possible for a 7 month old car that gets used locally! Thankfully, my warranty covered this, otherwise I doubt i would have been able to prove Firestone did this to me. Came in with my father to ask about taking some pictures for an insurance claim, as well as get an oil change, and the man working the desk couldn't even be bothered to have human decency. He had an attitude from the moment we walked in, and he answered our questions in an extremely clipped tone. He then immediately turned away and walked onto the work floor. When he finally see's us still standing there, the first words out of his mouth were literally "What do you want?" like a bratty man child. How do you expect to keep business when you can't even answer a few questions without an attitude? He acted like I had offended his mother or something because I didn't immediately walk out of his establishment. Never Ever go to this FIRESTONE ON HYLAN BLVD. Giancarlo was the manager.All I needed was 2 front tires replaced which I supplied. After waiting 3 hours the car was ready. WELL, I started driving and my front brake pads were RUBBING BADLY. Note; I only went there to replace two front tires that I supplied. I Told Geon Carlo, the man outright refused to put my car back back on the lift. He out right refused. I drove home and within 5 miles my brakes seized. I recently had my own mechanic replace the front pants DURALAST TOP QUALITY BRAKE PADS from AUTOZONE. The mechanic after examining my car ran out of the repair bay like his hair was on fire ( For DESCRIPTION PURPOSES ONLY HE WAS WEST INDIAN OR JAMAICAN- I don't blame him- IM SURE IT WAS THE MANAGER WHO TOLD HIM TO " take care of me " ) and told me that my calipers were seized. I asked to see the brake pads and they showed me brake pads that came from advance auto parts. Long story short they deliberately put defective pads on my calipers with the intention of damaging my rotors calipers and pads. I had no option but to get the car repaired there because my own mechanic was 50 miles away. Another manager, JOSH, tried to do me a favor by taking $150 off the repair bill which was now $1600 as opposed to $30 to replace the tires. It is a good thing that I am a law-abiding citizen because this service station is a rip off and they just don't deserve to be in business, They deserve to be in jail for fraud. read more

This Firestone (on Hylan Boulevard, next to the Car Wash and Chevy/Ford dealership) has been my go to place for ~2 years now. The people in the front desk as well as the mechanics are all wonderful. I have - so far - not felt deceived or cheated, or robbed off - as I haven't had any big or worse repair on my car. The biggest one was me getting all my tires replaced with Bridgestone. Expensive? Yes; Robbed? No. The only issue - and I assume this is common with many other auto repair shops is - the timeline. They mostly try to honor your appointment time, but if it gets delayed, 90% of the time, that is conveyed to me. The times I was not told what was happening (or not happening) to my car were low. I always stay with my car until work is done, so having been there anywhere from ~30 minutes to ~6 hours, I have seen / heard almost every customer's attitude (and Firestone guys' attitude as well). Anthony / Jian Carlo / Devon (Paul - I was told moved to Brooklyn) are the main guys there. All are great to deal with, and they have great temperament with (almost) all customers. Definitely a place to take your car with trust and expect that stuff will be done right. Are there times when they probably did not service properly? Maybe. Honest and fast. I brought my car here because I thought my oil pan was leaking oil. Tech looked at the car within 15 minutes. Tech told me he could not find a leak anywhere and that there was nothing wrong with the car. No fake repairs, no charge for the courtesy check. Just an honest tech/mechanic. I went here for service many times and I had a couple of bad experiences recently. Once they did not do a full oil change and I caught them not changing my filter. The mechanic knew he was caught when I told him and he was back pedaling. The manager checked the camera and looked for the filter carton box in the garbage, where the mechanic said he put it and could not find it. He front desk guy said that they are supposed to hand in the carton to show they changed the filter. He knew the mechanic was lying and he gave me a coupon. I used the coupon the very next time and they overfilled my oil by a lot. The guy at the front desk was dismissive until I showed him that everything was overfilled by a couple of quarts. There are some good mechanics here but a couple who are real bad. I think they dented my hood when I complained. Be careful here! read more

The manager (or owner) seemed really nice but don't be deceived. I told him my car's symptoms, he took a quick look, and he gave me a rough estimate. I left my car, and he said he'd call me to tell me what I would need. Later he calls me and says he has good news. The good news was I only needed part of the work he originally thought I needed, but, the price would he HIGHER than estimated. I said, "Wait a minute. I need less work and the price is higher?" He gave me some double talk. I used to work at a repair shop myself and I know cars fairly well, this was double talk. I ended up paying the outrageous price just to get my car back. Then I called Firestone regional headquarters and explained what happened over the phone and mailed them a receipt. They gave me a refund and admitted that the local Hylan Firestone manager (or owner) had overcharged me. DON'T GO THERE. read more

I am kinda surprised by all the negative reviews on here. I go here exclusively for my tires and have never had an issue. They are always honest and do not try to oversell which many places do...especially when they see a woman who they think knows nothing about cars or tires. I always make an appointment when I go (which I think helps) and I never end up waiting a crazy amount of time. The one time I did end up waiting about 2 1/2 hours though, I just got some coffee at Starbucks across the street and went into the local shops. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because my tires always have to be special ordered (as they are not a common size they keep in stock). I don't mind this, as it never takes more than a few days...but when you have a flat or slow leak it can be annoying to wait around for your tire to be delivered. I would recommend, I just wish they kept even a few of my size tires in stock. read more

I wish I read reviews on this joke of a place before I went there. OMG I can't believe this place is still in business. Nothing but a bunch of scam artists and douchebags. I brought my car in for an oil change. Mind you the car is brand new and I installed a cold air intake on it which has a reusable air filter (K&N). I just cleaned out the airfilter at home but I can't do an oil change in my parking lot...damn I miss having a garage... Anyway I go for the oil change. I'm waiting around when a "mechanic" who works there approaches me with a filthy air filter. He says he has to replace my air filter and shows me this filthy air filter and says I really should change it more often. I couldn't help myself from laughing in this clowns face. I double check that he got that air filter from my car that was on the lift and he said yes. I demand he get my car off the lift this second before i blow a gasket. i storm into the office and call the manager out on this scam. He tells the guy to get my car and still asks for the money for the oil change and that there "must've been a mistake". I almost caved this guy's face in. Long story short, the cops were called, I didn't pay for shit and this guy is still breathing. Please, for the love of baby jesus, DO NOT GO TO THIS SHITHOLE. Firestone is a place best avoided. The only good thing I did there is they had a special on lifetime alignment and balancing for your car for $109. That's a good deal and I periodically have my vehicles alignment and wheel balancing checked here and will for the life of my automobiles. Other than that they suck. Since they only sell their brand of tires they can be limited if you need a certain tire. If you have a repair done here they will nickel and dime you to death. Aside from the cost of the part and the labor which is to be expected they charge you for: Brake cleaner fluid (in my case) Shop rags Gloves the technician wears So now I go elsewhere if my car needs to be repaired. The one time I had my car inspected there was a nightmare. All of a sudden there was this wrong and that wrong and when I called their bluff there was nothing wrong. They're just looking to pad the bill. Then that idiot that runs the place, Frank, what a buffoon! He bumbles around looking like he knows what he's doing when in reality he's just fucking off and smoking. He tells me the inspection is done and I pay the $37.00 fee. I get to my car and there's no sticker on it. I go back and question this he tells me they ran out can I come back tomorrow? I lose it. I start yelling and screaming at these guys and lo and behold they found a sticker! What a miracle! I guess they thought they were being slick when I refused their bullshit repair services and they were going to jerk me around on a inspection sticker. But I'm slicker! I went to this Firestone within a half hour of close with a big nail in my tire. The entire crew there made me feel so comfortable, and fixed my tire within minutes. They charged me an extremely fair rate and got me out within 15-20 minutes total. Considering this happened all on Father's Day, they could have easily told me they were "booked for the day" but instead they got me in and it allowed me to finish my 6 hour trip that left from NY and even showed me all the work they did to make me prepared in the future if anything were to happen along these lines again. What a bunch of jerks . Had a tire losing air on a Saturday around 515 pm. Saw that they were open till 6. With air running out of my tire I headed there for a quick plug. When I got there I was told they were too busy and that I should come back tomorrow . Really can't spare 5 minutes to plug a hole . Come back tomorrow . i am using firestone 12 years... so i should know when things have changed... and unfortunately it is not the same place as it was... in all these years with many cars never had a problem...but now i had two in a row.... so i will hope i can keep others from having a horrid experience like i have.... i will avoid this firestone from now on......but i have found the other one on the island is the same as i remembered this one to be....i tried to reach a solution with the store manager and got nowhere even with written proof... i contacted the corporate office to be told that each place is run and owed on its own...corporate seems to have no power over any problems... this is important to know folks... i can not recommend this place to anyone for any reason... and i can list many reasons.... i lost a good deal of money but if i can help the next person that it was worth it.... drive further away and get treated like a valued customer at the new firestone....PLEASE NOTE... the prices vary wildly at each location of firestone.... this is not supposed to happen...but does.. read more

I agree with the reviews, I did not have a good experience here. They performed an alignment that in all truthfulness am not totally sure was done. They also said they would throw in a tire rotation. I marked my tires to check if it was done and it was not. I didn't make a big deal of it but will never return. Recommend you try Olympia Auto...much better service and honest. read more
