Came here to get new tires and an alignment, ordered the tires the day before online and made the appointment online, asked them to let me know if transmission fluid needed to be flushed. As I waited several other customers were told services couldn't be done on their vehicles because this part was missing or that part wasn't functioning properly (didn't think much of it). When I checked out, I was informed that I had no dipstick to check my transmission fluid (my father-in-law checked later that day, and I did in fact have one). Then as I began looking at my tires, I noticed THEY DIDN'T INSTALL THE PROPER TIRES! THEY DIDN'T EVEN INSTALL THE SAME BRAND! No one notified me that other tires were used or discussed the other tires with me. This place is a joke. I had lost a couple of tire plugs and went into Firestone at the Sterling, VA Town Center Plaza for the first time. I was waited on immediately by a wonderful young man by the name of "Sam". I am senior citizen and he could see my fingers were a bit twisted. He went out to my car and said "let me take care of these for you". He put them on immediately and would not take any money for his trouble. This is an HONEST, decent, well run operation and they care about customers. I could not have been treated with more respect or kindness. Everybody in there was treated the same way. Sam is an EXCEPTIONAL employee but great attitudes like this come from the Top! They seem great at first. I was having a few things looked at. However, a day after something was not right with my car. It kept making a sound from one of that parts they had taken a look at. I called, the girl that answered told me that this had nothing to do with what they had checked. I asked to speak with a technician, I was told there was none available. I was also told there were no appointments available for me. However I just wanted for them to take a look at what may have occurred to my car during the visit. Again, I was told this was not something that could have happened there. That I may need to take my car to the dealership. I requested to have one call me back when available. Person said yes that she could definitely have that done for me. I never received a phone call. I called the next day and was told the same thing. That there was not an experienced technician, that I would have to make an appointment or that I would need to take my car to the dealership. I would definitely not recommend this place. Horrible mechanics at this shop and horrible customer service! I made the mistake of taking my car there to have my tires replaced and get an oil change. Little did I know i would not get my car back till a whole week later. They somehow managed to break my drain plug and had to order a new one. But in typical Firestone fashion they messed that up too and ordered the wrong drain plug. Days later my car is finally ready and i had to fight to get some type of compensation for their mistakes...only had my oil change covered. Weeks later I open my hood up and notice there is no oil dip stick. I go back to Firestone and tell them that they are the last ones to do my oil change so they are the only ones who couldve lost it. The guy working at the front gives me a whole idiotic speech about its not possible to drive without a dip stick and i try to explain to him that apparently I have been for weeks. He pretends to go on the computer to look up the part and tells me he'll call me the next day but I'll most likely have to pay for the replacement. Its been 3 days and I still havent heard from them. read more

I should have read more reviews, it's clear there is a huge issue with consistency and process at this location. Some people get the A or B team, and others, the C team. I would have used zero stars if that was a choice, since calling the service people who worked on my care the C team would be an undeserved promotion. Wasted 6 hours here waiting for brakes to be done one day, which should have been no more than a 1-2 hour task. No status, no updates though all of this. Perhaps they were having problems figuring out where the brakes are? (Hint: usually on bottom of car, behind tires). Not particularly busy as there was only another person waiting at the same time. Did finish reading a book cover-to-cover in the dismal waiting area in between the awful daytime television shows. read more

They helped me out of a jam and replaced my VW Passat belt tensioner $100 less than another local Foreign Repair shop. They also did the work after 3:30 PM and were finished by 5:30 PM. The other shop could not fix my VW the same afternoon and they had 3 mechanics on staff! The other shop was lazy in my opinion. I like the can-do-it-now attitude that is Firestone but you must collect diagnostics and estimates before you go there. That way, you can get exactly the work to be done. They WILL try to up-sell you on services, like any business. With estimates and diagnostics in hand, YOU are more the wiser. Kudos Firestone. read more

The worst ever. Terrible service. D'ont go there. Wish there was something less than one star. I had 3 major issues with this place and my bad that I didn't learn from the first time thinking it's an individual mistake. 1- First they were supposed to replace my tires on my personal car and since I got the car, there is a constant noise coming from the tires. Went back and they claimed that there is a loose nut lock that needs to be replaced and it just happened after I took the car out and have nothing to do with their job however, the problem started immediately after I took the car out of the shop. 2- I purchased the lifetime alignment and asked them to replace the tires. They replaced the tires without the alignment. A while afterwards I noticed that the car shakes at 50 mph. I went back to them and they said that the tires may need to be replaced again as the misalignment have worn the inside of the tire!!!! 3- The reverse light was out and just a bulb needed to be replaced. I went there 3 times for oil change and every time I ask them to replace it and they do not. 4- Took my car for an oil change and tire rotation. Usually doesn't take more than one hour. 2 hours and half later they called me and they said they cannot get the car out and must keep it overnight as there is a broken nut lock and they don't have the part. 5 - V bad cuatomer service. The crew is rude, irresponsible and liar. I am not taking any business out there anymore. D'ont get to the same situation by giving them the benefit of the doubt till you loose patience. read more

Beware. Took my 2006 Acura MDX to Firestone to replace the timing belt and front axle (leaking grease boot). After we took the car, a day later, the serpentine belt fell off (poor installation of the belt) and later we found out that the drive axle was replaced with the wrong axle nut (according to the dealer $136 later). These guys are not competent and do sloppy work. I'll never use them again. read more

I realize this again every time I try a new shop thinking I will save a few dollars. In the end, I leave other shops aggravated with the long wait time or poor customer service. Sterling Firestone gives value for the money and they see you not as a quick buck, but as a long-term customer. They may be part of a national chain, but they operate like your hometown mechanic. read more

June 20, 2015 We stopped by to order 4 tires for my Chrysler 200. Mary was the one who took the order. She told us that it will be ready that following morning that she will call me as soon as the shop open to give me the update. She never call me. I called them no answer about 12:00 I walked to go to the shop I saw my vehicle on the top of the left. I spoke to her she said will be done by 2:00. The vehicle was done at 3:15. The following day I hit the curved at the Capitol Hill one tire on the back need to be replace. I went back to the shop to order another tire. Mary Placed the order and told me it will arrive the next morning and she will call me she said I asked her if she can contact the other location if they have the size that I need she told me that they don't have it either. She never call. I called the shop around 2:00 no one knows that someone place a tire order again I was told they will call me but I need the tire that day. Until now they never call me about the tire. In the same day I stopped by at Just tire in Vienna. They do not have the size that I need but, they made some phone call to the Firestone location in Mclean they have the size that I need so, I went to Mclean and purchased the tire and took it back to just tire so, they can installed it for me while I was waiting. Mary charged me for tire valancing but they never balance. In 3 occasions the car ran uncontrollably on the road after all the tires was replaced. I took it to my dealer because of it they told me that the tires are not balance. I have been a firestone client since in 2000. They were good then and now I will never do business with them again. Walked in today with no appointment because I needed one new tire on my front passenger side. Tom helped check us in and get us set up and was very helpful. He said he will squeeze us in as soon as possible since he did have some appointments coming in. We waited around and everything was done within 45 minutes. Definitely recommend this place and the pricing is very reasonable. Definitely will be back with my cars for any other service I need in the future. read more

I got two brand new Affinity tires from Firestone just two weeks ago for its sale. As soon as I drive out of there, the low tire pressure light turns on and I peg it as a computer glitch. I drive about 18 miles back home and leave the vehicle alone for two weeks. I came back from vacation and the tire is completely flat!! I realized then that the computer was right and I received a faulty tire from Firestone. Today, I came into my local store and am told that I have to buy a brand new tire to replace the flat one. I did not purchase road damage insurance and the employee told me the hole in the tire came from me driving. There is absolutely no way I had ran over a nail because the light had turned on once I started driving out of the store. Because I have to go to Richmond before the snow storm hits, I am forced to buy ANOTHER tire from this store. Unless you want to be hoodwinked into buying multiple tires instead of just the one you need, I recommend not coming here. Spend your valuable money in a place that respects you. ------EDIT------ Before I left the store, the employee at the register was able to get me a replacement tire free of charge. I appreciate her help and understanding of the situation. I'm grateful she was able to get me a new tire, however, it wasn't the same kind of tire I originally bought. I am very impressed with this business. I visited to have a screw hole in my tire plugged. I did not need to make an appointment, and my car was worked on right away. The technician patched the screw hole, inspected all of the tires and found another screw in another tire without my asking. He checked and inflated all 4 tires, and when I went to check out, to my surprise the normally $25.00 service was FREE because I have Bridgestone tires! Watch out!! The only price this place knows is $1200. After brakes, rotors, and tires I had to return for warped rotors. After 12k the rotors were out of warranty (imagine that) so I paid $90 to have them turned on the machine. They gave me an estimate for struts $1300. I went to the dealer, and with 81k on my car they said the struts were fine. stay away! read more

If I could give them zero stars it would be appropriate. The mechanics they have on staff are the most incompent I have ever met. I had a therostat problem which is a farily basic repair. They diid not know how to do it and I had to take it back three times. They finally conceeded they had not idea what they were doing. I then went to drive my car from the store and it was out of gas (although I dropped it off with a quarter of a tank). I took it to another job and they stated Firestone busted my radiador cap. Only 1 star when it should be zero. This is the second time I have brought my vehicle in. IF they notice anything wrong they do not tell you which causes you a delay (if you catch it on site) or repeat repear visits. The first trip replaced two tires and they were also suppose to replace lights. Did tires, did not do safety lights. Had to leave my car another day. Got home and one of the two original tires that were not replaced then went completely flat. Brought it in to replace those and no mention my sensor was dry rotted. After I paid, the tire visibly looked low. The guy said it was 32 psi (should be 35). After putting air in it then said all tires were what they were suppose to be. Well they already said it was low right after replacijning it. As I tried to address the issue with the onsite counter guy I was told to just wait. If you want know if anything is going on with your car you can not trust them. They will not inform you rather just send you on the way. By the way, my car was here for two days and I had to catch the issue. DO NOT COME HERE. You can not trust they will look over your car or notify you if something is discovered. read more

Purchased 4 new tires and requested that an alignment be done using my lifetime alignment warranty. I was informed that my frontend needed to be repaired and that the alignment could not be done. I insisted on having the alignment.....they went through the motion of performing the alignment. In the end it was not done because they claimed that upon checking the specs it did not need an alignment.Took the car, still under new car warranty, to the Ford/Lincoln dealer to investigate and repair the frontend. Upon inspection, no issues were found and was told the car needed an alignment. I firmly believe that the mechanic at Firestone just did not want to do the alignment. read more

Shopped around a lot for my recent rear break & rotor repair. The person who answered the phone was friendly and knowledgable and able to give me a price estimate immediately, unlike some of the other places I called (namely the service center at the dealership where I purchased the car). Their price was also about $200 less than most other places were charging, so even though there were some negative reviews, I decided to take a chance on them. The appointment started out with a courtesy inspection, where they ended up finding another problem with the breaks (calipers) that two other places had failed to notice. This bumped the price up significantly (about $250 more), and not knowing much about cars, this made me hesitant to agree to more repairs. But the helpful sales woman took the time to explain the problem, as well as show me on the vehicle how it was possible that other places missed this issue, and what the consequences would be if I chose not to repair it. In the end, I agreed to the repair work, and it only took about 3 hours total. When ringing me up, she gave me a little extra discount for being a new customer, which I really appreciated. They also checked my tire air in the courtesy inspection and filled those for me since they were on the low side. Unfortunately, the next day my car was involved in an accident where it was totaled (not related to the repair work at all), so I can't comment on the longevity of the work/parts. I would definitely return here for future auto repairs. read more

So I got a lifetime alignment in 2015 for my car, 3 weeks ago I go on a weekend to realign my car, the manager says, sorry, but come on a weekday, when we are not that busy. That's fine, no problem. Today I go to this same location, they were not that busy, so I say to the guy at the front desk, I came for an alignment. He tells me they don't work on Mercedes. I say, oh really, how come they worked on it when I first got an alignment. The guy says to me, because the person who worked on it, is no longer with us. So I say to him, what is that got to do with the initial mechanic who worked on it? He says to me "because he had the tools for it". So I say to him, if I find out you are lying to me, I am really going to get mad. I call another firestone, and I ask, do you do alignments on Mercedes? He says what year is it? 2010, he says: Yes we do, no problem at all. I ask, do you need special tools for it? No we don't. So now, I am going to go to this other firestone, and if they find excuses no to do it, that's right, I'll be back and leave another review. I want a firestone representative, to get back with me, and let me know what to believe. Can they stand on their promises of a lifetime tire alignment, or is it all a show. This is the first time I have ever placed a bad review, I am usually very reluctant to do so, but I am tired to be lied to, maybe I am mistaken, but this has to be resolved. I will hold Firestone to their word. And I want to see, if they are honorable or not. read more

This location is wonderful. I have called multiple times and stopped by with multiple questions. They are always happy to help. I had my tires replaced by them, asked their honest opinion on if they all needed replaced or if I could space it out, and they said I would be okay with waiting till 2 of the tires were a little more worn. There was one day I had an appointment in the afternoon. They were honest and told me they were behind a technician and that i may have to wait quite a while. So after reading the reviews on here and Google as well, I decided that I would go some place else to get my tire patched/replaced. However, driving on a spare I had to take back roads instead of the highway home and just so happened that the route I took brought me here. So I said why not? Apparently I got the A team because Tuan and Mary were awesome. They quoted me the right price for a patch: $30, which resolved a previous bad review. They showed me directly the damage of the tire, that it couldn't be patched, and offered me quotes on a new set of tires that were affordable. I never felt pressured to buy and they were extremely helpful and friendly and worked with my budget. Also my wait time wasn't long at all. They did a great job! Mary is applying for the store manager position and I think she'd be a great fit! Also, the only reason I checked this place out was from a really good review from one of my guests at work who has never had any issues with this place. read more

The operation and system at firestone is awful. I received a quote to replace a tire and created an appointment 3 days ahead of time. I showed 15 minutes before my appointment to find out my specified tire would have to be ordered. On top of that I would have to wait till closing- 5 hrs later. No point to schedule an appointment in my opinion if they can't get the tires in nor have a shorter wait time. The tires were specified 3 days earlier and they confirmed the appointment. read more

I came here for a simple oil change. It took 45 minutes for my car to even be taken back to the bays. I saw employees just standing around. No one moved with any purpose, just moseyed around like they had nothing to do. If I had been told it would be awhile, that's one thing. But I was told they were getting right on it. I brought my vehicle here to change 3 tires and perform an oil change. I was late for my scheduled appointment, but they took my car anyway. They still performed the work ahead of schedule and called me as soon as it was ready. There rates were far better than all local competing shops, and the staff was extremely friendly and pleasant to deal with. They didn't try to upsell me anything, and were very courteous. Made an appointment for an oil change and tire alignment, told the services would take an hour and a half to two hours so I waited in the plaza. I received a call an hour and a half later saying my car was ready so I went and paid for the oil change and cleaned the grease off of my steering wheel. I drive home and read over my service paperwork stating all the fluids are fine and notice a note that Juan (mechanic) had left saying they couldnt open the hood. I called Firestone and spoke to Mary who told me they couldnt open my hood and if they pushed anymore it would damage it. Now I would think someone who works on vehicles would know how to open a hood but I guess they didnt realize there was a latch inside the car to pop the hood before you "start pushing on it." Mary then told me I could come back and open the hood myself and they would change the oil, I declined as I live 45 minutes away. I asked her why Juan would fraudulently claim that he checked all of my fluids and sign off that they were okay without actually checking and she said "well that I don't know." I asked for a refund (almost a week later still no refund.) At no point did they call me while I was waiting to ask how to open the hood, call to tell me they couldnt perform the oil change but yet I still paid (unknowingly) for a service that was NEVER performed which is considered theft! Its so frustrating to think that if I never checked my paperwork that I would have continued to drive without a proper oil change or if my fluids and belts were bad the damage it would have caused to my vehicle because Firestone failed to properly do their job. As a manager Mary should have had the decency to call and tell my they couldnt perform the service or at least tell me when I went to pick up my car. But no, she let me pay for a service without receiving it and walk out of her store. After going somewhere else to have my oil change, I was informed that my tires were staggered (larger ones in front and smaller in the back). Now as a mechanic and someone who works with tires, wouldnt you know that the larger ones go in back and the smaller ones in front? I had to pay to get my tires fixed because Firestone neglected to perform the alignment correctly. A complete waste of time and additional cost due to their neglect and incompetence. Two weeks later, I have yet to receive a return call from corporate or their regional manager. read more
