Something came loose from underneath my car. I went here because it was the closest repair shop to my home. They refused to service me claiming they had too many repairs ahead of me. I asked for some duct tape to secure the loose piece (I even offered to pay for it) they refused. There was a hardware store a few doors down. I walked there to get some tape. When I got back they had blocked my car in. No one would help me leave the lot. So they refused to service my car but they were preventing me from leaving. I eventually was able to leave when someone else moved their car. However, while I waited I watched them take other off the street clients (no appointment) and say their service could be completed. This is the second time I've come here and this is the second time I've been refused service. I wrote the first time off as bad luck. But twice? My isn't that bad, their service is. read more

These guys are great! I got a nasty blowout late Saturday night on the 405. The tow truck came and put on the temporary replacement tire. I went online and found the only place that was open on Sunday at 8:00 am. Greg, the manager, was wonderful. He had to order the tire, but I was out of there in no time! I came here in August to get an alignment (I have the lifetime alignment package) and I'm almost certain that they did absolutely nothing. I mentioned that my tires were also low on pressure and they said that they already readjusted the pressure when they did the alignment. They also told me that my car was very low on oil and I needed to do this and that, blah blah blah. I thought that was odd because because I had just taken my car in for an oil change at the dealership less than two months before. I just thought whatever, I'll take it back to the dealership tomorrow to check. I got into the car, checked the tire pressures and the numbers were EXACTLY the same as before I dropped the car off. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and thought that maybe there was something wrong with the tire sensors. So the next day I went back to the dealership, told them what happened and asked if they can check if there were any issues with the tires and oil. The mechanics checked everything and said there was nothing wrong. The oil was full to the top. They put more air into the tires and it was back to normal. Seriously, Firestone? Wtf? Telling lies upon lies to try to get more money? I feel like they try to scare people and inexperienced people like myself would get scared and do/buy whatever they recommend. What a shitty way to do business. I've been to other Firestone locations and never had any issues. I definitely will never trust or go back to this location. Terrible! I also got an email after the service, asking to fill out a survey. I filled out the survey and explained what happened. I have a Fiat and needed a special tire to replace one that was flat, so I originally came to this Firestone that is near my house in Studio City. Upon purchasing my tire, I discovered about a week later that there was a valve that was faulty with a slow leak. They immediately repaired it. They have always gone above and beyond with service, finding the solution that is the best option and least expensive. They always try to complete the jobs in the quickest manner possible. Things like pounding out my wheel rim when I hit a pothole, so I wouldn't need to buy a new rim to patching my tire that was a month old when I ran over a nail- all at no cost! This is what keeps me referring everyone to this Firestone, as well as coming back for any purchases I need to make. Growing up in a small town, this is what it was like with the local auto repair- and it is an unexpected welcome surprise here. Additionally Greg Ataryan has been the store manager here for 15 years. I had a nail in a fairly new tire. Unfortunately I had to call AAA to help me change it when the lugnuts wouldn't loosen, and the AAA man told me that the tire looked great except for the nail, and that I should just try to get it plugged. I took it to Firestone to see if I could get it plugged. The person who I checked in with said it looked likely to be able to be fixed, but never said that it definitely would be able to be fixed. As he took it into the mechanics, without even looking at it the mechanic shook his head "no" and then Firestone rep then called me over and went into a long explanation of why the tire couldn't be fixed that didn't make sense to me, even though the exchange between him and the mechanic had been about two words....almost as if they were putting on a show. To be fair, obviously some things may have become short hand to these people and that could be why it seemed like an elaborate explanation was coming from such a short exchange. They told me that there was something to do with the pressure or something that had nothing to do with the tread or cracks or aging and thus I was suspicious, especially when AAA had already told me it was in great shape. So I went to Costco to get new tires, which is where I had purchased by tires only a while ago, I had gotten 4 new tires all at the same time and had kept up with the rotation. The Costco people said all my tires looked great, almost brand new, and they didn't see why they couldn't have just plugged the tire. So based on this, I will assume that the Firestone people were trying to scam me into buying new tires. I had a good experience here years ago, and I'm disappointed that the staff or the ethics of this location have changed. read more

Terrible experience. Spoke with the staff over the phone after service had begun and they suggested that they leave my keys in the car and I pick up my vehicle using my spare key since I wasn't able to pick up my vehicle until after they closed for the evening. Spoke with another woman the day of who let me know the exact location she would leave the keys when I picked up my car that evening. I arrive and find that the keys were not left in the car. Called Firestone the next morning and they let me know that one of their technicians accidentally put the keys back in the office and that I would have to pick them up in person another time- requiring yet another trip to the shop. On top of that, when I took my car to work the next morning I notice that it has started producing a loud screeching sound that it did not make prior to the service. I have called them several times and each time am told that the manager is busy and will call me later. I now have to return to the service center to fix the problem that THEY caused and to retrieve my original set of keys. Extremely disappointed. read more

In the past they have always tried to upsell a bit, but I thought no harm to have them install 4 tires that were already balanced and do an oil change and they open at 7 a/m which is good because I have work. Arrived at 6:45 on the 28th so I can be first taken in the morning, one other customer there waiting as well. Well 7:20 rolls around and the chains are still up and nobody opened the store. Started to think by the time they take down the chains, warm up the register and open all there bins it would probably be closer to 8 before I get taken care of, so I bolted to work and had it done elsewhere. Used to be a solid shop, but now it's the same ol' same ol'. Took 3 hrs to do an oil change and a rotation after telling me they needed 90 min. And they botched the rotation. Manager later called and apologized, said they'd do better next time. This is what happened: Asked for transmission fluid exchange (on a '09 Mazda), but was told that is a job for the dealer. Jiffy Lube can do the job, so can the mechanic down the street, so can a guy in his driveway, but "Complete Auto Care" cannot. And yet they'll do my motor mounts and a bunch of other things I DIDN'T ask for. Also tried to take advantage of the $99/axle brake job offer, but because they didn't have the right rear pads in stock it'd be $80 extra. It's just nonsense. They ain't the worst, but there's no point going there. read more

This place was a complete 180 from another establishment that I went to. I had gotten my oil changed in February and the light had already gone off! WTH!! Not to mention I got the stereotypical up sale and the good ol bait and switch on prices. My entire experience there was terrible and I will never go back to them. Not to mention, the place looked run down. I put my plight on Facebook and my friend Sahar Z., stated that she's had nothing but positive experiences with Firestone's. She's spanned the US from North Carolina, Florida, California... Her go to place now is the one in Studio City. She contacted the Studio City location for me to get a price quote for my 2013 Fiat 500C (Phoebe). The price being right and her rave reviews, I made my appointment. When I went in Friday morning, right off the bat I noticed the place was clean, the employees were personable and friendly. They had me on the schedule and they didn't change their prices on me. I inquired as the the time frame Phoebe would be done at, they estimated an hour. I decided to go grab a bite while she was being worked on. About 50 minutes later, I got a call saying she was done! WOW! They called and it was within the time quoted! I was pleasantly surprised yet again. (Years back, I had a Scion and had given Toyota my number, AND I wound up staying in the waiting area...about TWO AND A HALF HOURS later, they never came looking in the waiting area and claimed they didn't have my number, yeah my car was done a good hour ago.) Upon paying, the price stayed the same, there wasn't any hidden fees or up charges. Although, there are closer Firestone's to me, I had such a POSITIVE experience at the Studio City location I will be going back. This is THE place to take you vehicle to! read more

I came in to have my new rims installed on my car. They didn't try to upsell anything to me and they actually have a comfortable waiting room with DirecTV. I was always a fan of the Firestone in Tarzana, and the Studio City location maintains the same level of service and quality. I've taken two different vehicles here and have never had an issue; with work ranging from the replacement of a power steering pump to just a simple oil change. The staff here is always pleasant and courteous, and never tries to up-sell you. The service writers seem to be very honest about what your vehicle needs and, in an industry where you're always worried about being taken advantage of, it's much appreciated. The only issue I have is occasionally being quoted a price over the phone for a special the store is having, that other employees don't seem to be aware of. Never an issue, however, as the staff is always willing to honor what you're told on the phone. read more

I had all tires replaced on my BMW Z4, minus a couple of hick ups and certainly nothing wrong with the quality of tires, I was ready to sell my car. Cassie (whom is always adorable and professional in an non stiff friendly manner) suggested I should hang onto it as it is a beautiful car. I never drive it, it has low miles and the original tires and always well maintained but it does have that rough sports car ride, UNTIL I had the tires changed. I left everything up to Cassie, she picked the tires out and she couldn't have been more correct. I actually had this done on April 23, or so but then just parked it until today-and what an awesome ride that made me change my mind about reselling. Who knew the comfort of run flat high performance tires would ride so smoothly. I drove about 15 total miles and was completely elated. The guys are awesome too, it's more of a family atmosphere, and they remember your name although it's been awhile since I checked it. That's all I have to say for now. Thanks folks! You are spectacularly awesome. And I apologize for the delay in this post however, did not get to enjoy the ride out until today-and I'm so happy I did-thank you-and thank you Greg and the rest of the fellas. Now as far as the hick ups-the tire machine had made slight scratches to my rims which were more like indentations from when the tire machine popped the bead of the tires-when I had originally pointed it out they did deny doing any damage and that it was impossible-however, these were the original tires and my school days I had actually been a tire buster so knew exactly what happened. After explaining the scenario of how the damage only could have occurred, the guys were quickly prepared to accept responsibility, as well as correct the scratches and damage with their wheel guy-as I said I haven't driven it so the only miles that were on the car is when I parked it. When I took it out today to actual test drive and check out the work it was quite wonderful as I said before-Cassie did a great job in selecting the best tires which were firestone- perfect ride-the other hick up was that there was a small scratch on the passenger grill I literally flipped about because I know every acceptable blemish on my vehicles and as I just self washed and polished my vehicles before I brought it to the shop I knew that mark/scratch was not present prior-the marking went down to the paint and scraped it off-I spoke with someone there about my concerns and as you can clearly see whatever scratched it had an edge to it, so I'm going to guess it was most likely one of the ramps-easy on my nerves-I was told that Greg will be advised and give me a call to obtain the okay to correct the issue and I certainly hope that they do as I'd hate to think differently about this place. And yes, having my toys are more of a "want" and not a need I cherish my vehicle, truck and motorcycle thus this is why I know every chip of paint and or scratch and why I do not use the car wash or self wash bin and do the hand wash myself-there are certain things in life I will always be finicky about and that will remain my vehicles. read more

This place is great for oil changes. For synthetic oil, Firestone in general, offers a great price. I usually get my car back within an hour if I am waiting for it. Customer service is adequate, however, if you come at opening, the energy level is usually down. Besides for their oil changes, all their other services seem pretty highly priced so I take my car else where. But for regular maintenance they really are convenient. On a random note, your tires are rotated only if you verbally request it. Must be some strange company policy. So if you want them rotated, say something. read more

Took my 2005 Ford Escape in to get looked at after having a pretty scary experience of it shutting itself off on the freeway - as you can expect, I was pretty freaked and also nervous about how much the fix was going to cost me. I really didn't want to take it into another Firestone as I had a pretty terrible couple interactions with another location, just down the road from this one, but it was a Sunday and my go-to mechanic was closed, so I sucked it up and took it into the Studio City location. Greg and the gang had my car for about 4 days, they went through absolutely everything to figure out what the problem was, keeping me updated throughout the whole process. About a day into the diagnostic, Greg called me and informed me that it was going to take them a lot longer to work on the car and he didn't want me to be stranded the whole time since he wasn't sure exactly when it'd be ready. So he offered to rent me a car while my car was in the shop with them. I was actually really surprised when he offered that - mostly because I was really stressed about having missed work the one day and was so relieved to get the unexpected offer. Turns out my PCM was the culprit, it was sending too much power to the engine which is why my car shut itself off on the freeway, along with frying a spark plug and coil. To top it off, even though Ford had issued a recall on the PCM for exactly the problem I was having with it, I fell outside of the recall window by several years and a significant amount of miles. When Greg called to inform me of all this, he very calmly explained that I shouldn't stress out because they were going to help me out and make sure I was back in my car ASAP. Aside from fixing the car, and paying for the rental, Greg said they weren't going to charge me for the spark plugs or coils they had to replace, just the PCM - which was amazing, as the charges were started to stack up on the car in my mind. I was actually really surprised at how excellent their customer service was compared to previous experience at another Firestone location. I was actually a little paranoid from how great a job the whole team over there was doing for me. Lol. On top of the amazing service I got on this one visit, the next time I had to take my car into the shop, about a month later to get the O2 sensors replaced, Greg informed me that they weren't going to charge me for the labor this time, just the parts, since he knew how much I had to put into the car previously. Once again, I was super surprised and grateful for that kind of service. It genuinely restored my faith in the Firestone brand, and helped erase the really terrible impression I had of Firestone I had because of the other location. I'll be sure to take it back to these guys if I need anything else done in the future! p.s. Dear Firestone Corporate Person Who Sometimes Replies to these Reviews, You should really make a note of this particular location's awesome work. They're seriously doing such a good job! And maybe figure out why the other location is doing the complete opposite... ... also it was the North Hollywood/Lankershim location. read more

My wife loves taking our cars into these guys because they are honest and only do the work that is needed. Recently we had my Lexus in for a major 90k service when they discovered some of the big service had already been done (which I should have known but it was over a year ago at a different service shop), they called me and didn't charge for the prep work. I came in today with a simple need - put a little air in my tires. The right one set off the monitor in the car saying it was low. The nice man who initially helped me took my car out right away. Tested it. Put a little air in the suspect tire. When I told him it was a new car he made sure to check the other 3 tires saying sometimes it's one of the others that sets off a new car. He then said that he suspected I'd driven over a mile to get there, and filled all of them just a little bit over what BMW said be/ca he knew the car would cool down. All of this might not be making sense now. But I got it at the time and was very glad I had someone who was so smart and insightful about the car.
