I bought 4 tires and did not have any in the shop. They had to deliver the tires from Seattle. I paid an extra 35 bucks for the delivery. It was a Monday, I told them I'll schedule an appointment on Thursday. I came by on time, and wtf they said yeah the tires are still in Seattle. Communication between shops and staff is terrible. I expected more from them...Disappointed. I came by 4 hours later and they started working on my car. They did a great job but they should be more squared away. read more

I brought my service van in for brake service. The service attendant went to my van and gathered the information she needed and told me my van would have to be left overnight. I left it and next morning she called and said she could not work on my van because their lift could not handle the weight. I'm very disappointed that they did not even know what the capabilities of their equipment was and they wasted my time by not even calling me until the next morning. Not only Will I not recommend this business I will also be posting a review with enterprise fleet service. They should not be one of their recommended service providers. read more

We took our Toyota Highlander in because of severe road noise coming from the rear. The technician said struts and bearings looked good and we should probably start by changing the tires to see if that fixed the noise. The tires had a little uneven wear, but otherwise were in good shape. However, the noise was so severe and annoying we went a head and took their advice and changed the tires. $750 dollars latter the noise was still there and actually worse. We decided to take the car to the Toyota dealership and have them check it. Within minutes they had pinpointed the problem as a bad rear bearing. The Toyota technician said it was very noticeable and in our case easy to diagnose. They changed the bad bearing and all is well now. So we are left with three possibilities: 1. Firestone Tech was incompetent and missed a very obvious problem 2. They didn't actually check the bearings like they said 3. Or they knew the problem but decided to milk us by suggesting we replace unaffected equipment. Regardless of the reason we will never use them again and I highly suggest you be very cautious if you do use them. read more

I've been taking all my cars to this location for years and I don't know if they recently had staff changes but my last visit was a near disaster. I was told by the woman at the counter with the colored hair that one of the techs that used to be a KIA master mechanic said they found metal in my oil (so a red flag to me) and that my motor was shot and they could replace it for me there for $5,000 . It's a 2008 spectra with 120000 miles so it is not even worth that much. I was so disappointed to be targeted as a "woman" with a car. I promptly took it to my longtime trusted mechanic who after a thorough exam told me not only was the engine fine but they had over filled my oil which could have caused severe damage.Thanks to him it is fine. They have always tried to up sale saying I need a new air filter or a serpintine belt etc but to actually over fill my oil so it would cause damage. I will never go back to firestone at any location if this is how they let their staff scam people. read more

I have had good customer service at this location. I usually get oil changes and simple auto work done here and I must say that it is very convenient. You can make appointments via phone or online which makes the task of scheduling easier. The staff are nice and knowledgable. Their prices are about on par with most other places in town. read more

As a young female I'm always terrified to do car things bc I know nothing about cars. They got me in 30 minutes before close for a tire repair. BUT my tire ended up being irreparable and I needed a new tire. Probs would've cried if Bryan wasn't the ride or die tire guy (which also rhymes so obvious was meant to be) and set me up with an account so I could pay my tire off. He's my night in shining mechanics outfit. Him and his homie replaced my shit after the shop was already closed, and sat and chatted with me while it was being done. Unfortunately a poor experience at this shop. I came in with a simple tire fix--- and they basically tried to bully me into purchasing new tires. I had a screw stuck in the middle of my tread, not even near the sidewall. They said "we can't fix it because the hole is too big." I'm like--- I've been to mexico and they can fix a hole the size of a coke bottle." They kept pushing me to get tires, of which they had none in stock. I was amazed at how poorly their retail business is set up. Probably the system, not the people, however I will never set foot inside their store again. It was a easy 10 min fix at Jeff's Used Tires is where I ended up. Their service and knowledge exceed my expectations. Can't say the same for this firestone. Been here a few times- for oil changes and brake pad replacement. Overall decent service and they were very thorough checking my lights with their multi-point inspection. When I have called to make an appointment they have been pretty good about meeting my schedule request. I will continue to return. read more

Would not recommend.First off they broke the lock to the center console of my car. Second I asked them to perform a chassis lube which was never done even on the second chance visit. The final straw was when they told me it would be about an hour getting the tires replaced when it actually took 2 1/2 hours! I recently stopped by Firestone to get my Highlander aligned after installing a set of coilovers and replacing my inner and outer tie rods. I was at first concerned when I left and heard a suspension noise I had not heard before the alignment. My alignment tech, Ken, took it on a test drive and checked tightness on all the alignment bolts/nuts despite being certain that he had tightened everything. Sure enough everything was tight and it made the noise again as he pulled it out of the bay. Later I found out that the source of the noise was the top-center nut on the coilovers which had come loose since I did not properly tighten it with an impact when installing the coilovers. After tightening it down the noise disappeared. Shout out to Ken the best alignment tech in town. He has aligned the highlander several times and has done an amazing job everytime. After dealing with multiple crumby alignment shops, I will never get an alignment anywhere but the Firestone on 6th ave. read more

Incredibly disappointed with the service here. I made an appointment at 3:30 to have my tires replaced with new ones that we ordered in advance. I come down here expecting a quick half hour maybe 45min appointment. Please note that when I came in there was maybe one car inside of their garage. That's it. I even left and went to the store for a little bit came back and imagine my surprise when I realize my car is still in the parking lot. Hasn't been touched. I ask how much longer and the guy says well we only have two technicians. Doesn't change the fact that I had an appointment at 3:30 and now there's suddenly five other cars in the garage being worked on while mine rots in the parking lot. They didn't even start working on my car until 4:30. One hour AFTER my car was supposed to be started on. At 5:30 they finally come out and tell me that one of my tires needs to be realigned. At 5:30. Two hours later. And then tries to convince me to spend $80 on this when I bought tires for $800 only to receive awful customer service. I didn't leave the building until 6. Two and half hours later...to replace tires. What was the point of even making an appointment if you were just gonna take every other customer in front of me. Also would like to point out that when asked about the name of the store manager over the phone, the front desk guy said he couldn't give out last names despite the fact that there are business cards inside of the office with the last name on it. read more

My car was barely starting and it looked like it could be a major electrical problem. I called Firestone and they got me in within a couple hours. When I arrived I was very well treated by the manager, and we discussed what could be wrong. She was very informative and after they ran the diagnostic on my car she said the battery was so low, they couldnt get a good read on the altenator, and it would need to be tested after the battery was put in. She also told me one of my tires was on wrong. When I got called back up I got the good news that the altenator was fine, but the manager had gotten busy with another customer and didn't get the opportunity to discuss the tire problem with the service guy. Because of this, she had him fix the tire at no charge to me. I was very impressed with the service and will definitely be back again. read more

Need a bolt pulled out of my tire and flat fixed. They said it could not be done because it was to close to the side wall. The bolt was in the middle of the tred not sure how that can be close to the side wall. They said that no one in the state of WA could fix it per stare law. They wanted to sell me a new tire. Didn't trust what he was saying. Went down the road to their competitors, no problems at the other shop and they fixed it for free. read more

Was offered a Summer Inspection at $10 to look over a car I was potentially buying. I was amazed by the # of things they checked over 30 min for $10. I opted to do an oil change, which I was told would be about $19. Thought I'd be walking out of there for about $35. Final bill was $60+. When I went over it with them, they told me the oil change was a High Mileage oil change, and therefore $46 instead of $19. They did not ask me for approval. In the end, they took $10 off the oil change and I walked out for $52. Still not cool. I was very happy with Ethan the mechanic's assessment. He was very detailed. Not sure where the communication ball was dropped. Next time, please ask for approval before "Upgrading" me/us. read more

And we appreciate the one's that are honest, look out for your best interest and don't try to cheat you out on a service you dont need. If youre looking for an honest service, AVOID THIS PLACE. Three separate visits for a squeaking wheel. "Mechanics" replaced front brakes and rotors, and then discovered issue was coming from the back. Following the third visit, I was told that they finally found the where the loud squeaking was coming from, from my carseat inside the car. I thought they were joking, I couldnt believe they would even call me with such a ridiculous explanation. I asked them to park my car outside, and not to touch another thing! Upon pick up, driver's door handle on black vehicle was chipped in three separate areas due to the door being hit against lift while vehicle was suspended in the air for diagnosing. During these visits, I was advised I could turn my radio up louder to not hear the squeaking noise while driving, and that prices were high due to their dilegence to ensure that all issues are addressed, although their actions proved the complete opposite. Wont ever be returning, and went to a real mechanic shop for issue to be resolved for 1/2 of what was paid to this jack-in-the-box auto center. These guys should be embarrassed for their final assessment...the carseat squeaking. (For a loud squeak outside the car!?) Can't be trusted to diagnose an issue, or open your car door with consideration for your vehicle. Would recommend the owners invest in annual occupational hearing tests for their "mechanics", because they apparently cant hear or distinguish sounds, which should be pertinent to their duties. read more

Zero stars!! Worst customer service EVER. Dishonest and very RUDE! I have been going to Firestone for over 4 years because of their commitment to customer service and quality work. I have been to Firestones in Portland, OR, Kent, WA, Olympia, WA, and Tacoma, WA. The 6th Ave shop in Tacoma has the worst customer service I have ever received from any car shop. The man I spoke with at this shop tried to force unnecessary repairs and became angry when I refused most of the extra services he was pushing. I checked in with my regular mechanic from the Olympia Firestone who confirmed that most of the repairs could wait another 10 - 15,000 miles before signing off on the routine maintenance I had originally scheduled. The man claimed he was not trying to hard sell me, but "Firestone might not cover these extra repairs if they are not done today." When I maintained my refusal of the extra services, he pushed my car to the end of the list of cars for the day and I ended up waiting twice as long as I should have. While waiting, the same man rudely dismissed an elderly gentleman who needed a flat tire repaired. The gentleman took his business two blocks down the street to the Les Schwab. I should have done the same. I will NEVER return to this shop and DO NOT recommend them to anyone! read more

I will first say, the team is very nice however, they were completely unable to fix a simple brake issue that I had. I had a lot of give in my brakes after a sudden stop which is what brought me in. They said I needed a new master cylinder - that did not fix the issue. They said after bleeding the brakes and replacing the MC they found that the issue is a possible ABS issue that I need to take to the dealer to fix as they are unable to. They did not charge me for my services at Firestone which I was very thankful for. My reason for 1 star is that after getting a loaner car, scheduling my dealership drop off and transportation I get a call from Ford that all they had to do was bleed the brakes because there was a little air in them. $130.00 and a load of trouble for something Firestone said they completed. I have walked away with very little trust of their "complete auto care." read more

Overall the people were nice. That being said I just can't recommend them and here is why: I went in with a flat, bought two tires, waited over 3 hours for my car back. They were just closing when I got my car. Immediately after I started driving I noticed something was wrong. I called and was made to feel like I was a picky customers (maybe because it was a long day?) so much so I actually said "I know I'm not crazy, there is something wrong." I had to go back in the next day and wait 2 more hours (missing a meeting for work) and come to find out the technician had taken my bad tire off the drivers back side and accidentally put it back on the passenger back side. I just feel that there should have been more of an apology (not just an "oops sorry about that") or in the very least discounted service for this big of a screw up! This is why I can't recommend them even though overall they were fairly nice. read more

I went to this location because I had a flat tire and nobody else was open on Sunday. I brought my car in at 1pm. Brian S. told me they were a little backlogged, so my wait time would be two hours. He took my number and said he'd call when they got to my car. Three hours later, I hadn't heard from him, so I called to check the status of their work. Brian S. said they had my car on the hook and were about to pull it into the garage and get started. I asked if he was going to call me back when it was done. He said, "Of course, I wouldn't leave you hanging." Two hours later, Brian hadn't called me back yet. I went to the shop (since they were about to close for the night), only to see that my car was exactly where I left it, with the spare still on. They'd had my car for five hours and hadn't even touched it or bothered to let me know they didn't plan on working on it that day. Concerned that Brian would try to to charge me for services not provided, I asked him to give me the form I signed consenting to allow them to perform work on my car. He refused. He didn't apologize for my wait or for repeatedly lying to me. Instead, he lied to me again and claimed he told me they'd get to my car "as soon as possible." Brian S's blatant disregard for my time and satisfaction, as a customer of his establishment, is unforgivable. read more
