I walked into the store today to purchase a battery for my car. I was helped by Joseph and he was AMAZING!!!! He went above and beyond. He checked out the battery I have now to make sure to get me the same type and the exact right kind. They didn't have the battery in stock but he was able to get it in about 20 minutes!! Made an apt for an oil change at 9am was told that the car wouldn't be ready UNTIL 5 pm No other options were provided sorry you don't have your car for 8 hours and you're stuck here. I could maybe understand the time frame if I was having a large amount of work done on my car but just an oil change!?! I complained to the manager Sam, he was not helpful and making me Madder and madder. He told my husband and I that we aren't welcome back to this location! Fine with me I don't want to spend money here anymore. Such a shame we used this location all the time. It was our go to for oil changes and other fixes. I am beyond mad with the service I received. One word review: honesty. I'll be honest. I have zero understanding of auto engineering and have always had trust issues with mechanics. But my spidey senses kicked in when the dealers repair shop I'd been using for years claimed I needed to replace a tire for a driving over a nail. I came to firestone with no appointment. Expecting to get the runaround, I was truly surprised to be greeted with friendly employees, simple explanation of repair options, and speedy service. I will not be returning to this establishment. Of course, it is typical for Firestone to offer services that aren't needed. Sales are important. I get it. But forcing unnecessary services is a totally different issue. I went in with ONE damaged brake caliper. After $2,400 worth of recommendations and a lot of "we don't know if this or that was damaged or not" I was forced to have a second brake caliper replaced for " a safety issue." There was absolutely nothing wrong with the second brake caliper. I was told to either do both brake calipers or they would refuse service. Also when the front desk associate went to speak with the manager about the matter, i heard lots of profanity coming from his office while discussing the issue. After agreeing to have both replaced, i was told that all parts available and it would not take long. Two hours later, i told the vehicle had not been serviced yet because the parts had just arrived. Still having Car trouble...so I am taking action and called Firestone Complete Auto Care to stop being stressed and replace my battery. Better to be safe than sorry -and stuck with an engine that won't work. I was raised by a father who lived in our garage. He taught me to always "take care of your car, and it will take care of you." I looked up "Best place to get a battery". I looked over 5-6 different places and started to call around. The winner was Firestone Complete Auto Care. They were quick to pick up the phone and didn't leave me on hold forever. I spoke with Matt, and within three minutes he had found the right batteries for my car and said I could come in at any time and he would be happy to help. He was nice, he was professional, this Seemed like the right fit. Since I was on the road, I was only 10 minutes away. I've driven by this fire stone store many times, and now was about to step inside and see what the store is about. I parked my car and was happy to see the fire stone Sign the faces the street had flowers all around it and was really well-kept that was nice! Then I walk inside and I see one of the cleanest Tire stores I've ever seen. Everything was in its place the displays were all bright and clean and the sitting area even had a small table for children and a TV if you were waiting for any length of time on your car. I walked up to one of the desks-and Matt said hello. He quickly got some information asked for my keys and went out to inspect my car. I told him about the battery issues and he promised to do a full diagnostic and take care of the problem. I would say it was about 20 minutes later and my car was done my keys are in my hand and I was walking out the door. That is pretty great! I was very impressed by the store and the people in it. They couldn't have been nicer, and an added bonus is that there's a Starbucks just across the street so anyone who reads my reviews will know- I do love my Starbucks- so this is a happy coincidence!!!! I can only tell you that I had a great experience as a first time customer. I will definitely come here again if I need tires, batteries, diagnostics-or anything else. I felt safe, I felt respected and the guys who work here will be honest, truthful and tell you what you will or will not need. This is a place of integrity-and they show pride in how they maintain their shop and showroom. I am a single mom who grew up around a lot of my dads classic cars-buddies-I know how shops work-this is a reliable-hard working crew. Please keep in mind, if I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I went to Firestone initially for a problem with steering left. Nicholas did a complete inspection and decided that the steering issue could be resolved with a new steering hose. So I had them remove the old one and replace it with a new one. They said they test drive it and it drove cherry. Since I was at Firestone, I also had them do a tire rotation, an oil change, put in new front and rear brakes, a brake system exchange, spark plug replacements with fuel system cleaning, and a few miscellaneous headlamp bulb replacements. Over a grand later, I was told my vehicle was ready for pickup and ran great. Well, I happened to be slowing down at a stoplight on Thousand Oaks Blvd and Westlake Blvd (busiest intersection in the whole dang city) and my tire decided to leave my vehicle while in motion...of course the mechanic at the body shop, the sheriff, and my insurance adjuster all claim it was negligence on Firestone's repairs. Matt, the manager at Firestone, is claiming all of their work was done properly and they aren't responsible for my tire falling off. I went in to do a brake fluid change & bleeding. They said my Oil was dirty and low. I went to buy 3 quarts of oil from the dealer, then came back got my car and drove my moms. I parked the car & checked the oil level noticing the Oil stick was not pushed all the way down. The oil level was almost full minus the amount the came out from the engine cap that I noticed. The oil cap of the engine was not even on it and that the oil had splashes onto the top of the under hood where the fabric is on the inside of the hood. I pushed the oil stick back in place, tighten my oil cap, and put maybe around 1/4 of a quart of oil to top it off. I drove to San Diego checked and called the dealer and my last diesel oil change was at 201,000 and my car had around 203,000. Now I have to buy a fabric undercover for the oil that came up onto the under hood and pay for the install. I am so glad I saw there mistake before driving home to San Diego otherwise I would have to literally sue them for a new engine. My oil was not dirty, my oil level was not extremely low like they said and they did not put the oil cap back on or push the oil stick back down. I did notice them playing on there iPhones also when I went back. They tried to upgrade me on a bs sale. Horrible Horrible horrible horrible service. The frustration I have I can not describe in words. Worst service in my entire life, I have been going to Firestone for 20 years plus. Garbage Service, Horrible. They need to write up the technician who worked on my car and write up the manager since he overlooks the place! Not cool & I will be writing corporate for this BS! read more

This slimy sales man disguised as a service adviser wouldn't repair the nail in my tire because all four retires are worn to the "wear bar". They would be happy to replace all the tires but could not repair the one. When I got to the Tireman Thousand Oaks, I looked at this "wear bar" and so we all know this guy was hustling me, there's a rubber nipple on each wear bar...that nipple is "intact" so not only was it not worn to the wear bar, but the nipple isn't even touched. Went in wanting to change my back rear break pads after going to Nissan to change my tires two weeks ago (got tires aligned too). Nissan let me know about my breaks and I wanted a second opinion for pricing. Firestone claiming my car needed to be aligned ($100) my rear shocks were leaking ($434), my rear rotors are halfway gone (+$100) and my battery needed to be changed asap when I never had any trouble ($165). They don't honor there 30 day customer satisfaction policy. I was sold a tire that was not compatible with my. Chevy EUV Bolt. The original equipment was a energy efficient Michelin tire that needed to be replaced. They did not have the tire but suggested a Bridgestone. The salesman told me it would be no problem. As it turns out the the tire definitely effects the efficiency of the car. I called and requested an exchange but was told no exchange could take place because the tire was not a stock item. The exchange did not take place and I am left with a tire that is not compatible. The salesman explained they were not in the business of losing money. I've been to this Firestone location a few times, at the recommendation of the people who sold me my car. In the past, my experiences weren't anything special, nor were they bad, but after my experience yesterday, I won't be returning. For some background - Firestone sold me 4 new tires earlier this year, with a supposed warranty. I got a flat tire 2 months ago, so I took my car in expecting to get it replaced for free. It cost me $120 for a new tire - WITH the warranty coverage. With my luck, I got another flat this week. I called Firestone, set an appointment for 10am the next day, and brought my car in. To be fair, I had told them I wasn't really in a time crunch. However, 2.5 hours later, I had heard nothing, so I gave them a call. The associate told me that my rim was severely damaged. When I asked whether or not they could order a new rim for me, he seemed unsure and told me he would call me back. He didn't call back for another hour, and he was extremely unhelpful then too. I decided to just come get my car after it had been sitting in their lot for FOUR hours with nothing done. It was a complete waste of my time. I then took my car down the street to America's Tires, and they charged me $170 for a new tire AND an after market rim. It took them about an hour, despite being flooded with customers and appearing much busier than Firestone. America's Tires also mentioned that their warranty covers the tire for free, as it should. I will definitely be returning to America's Tires - not to Firestone. read more

I had an appointment today In Thousand Oaks 1100 Thousand Oaks Blvd , When I got there I dealt with a very RUDE man names Sam. Not even a hello. I explained i was in just for my tire rotation and alignment, I also mention if they can check a check engine light came on yesterday . He Says that $99.00 dollars if you want to go there with scans and all... WOW .. if he is trying to scare customers away, Just so gruff and rude. I have to leave my car all day so I made this appointment last week cause I was told Tuesday is a good day, Well I ask for a ride to work...OMG I cant I have one person, So Gruff again, I want to cry. Ugh! They're the worst. It's a long story, kind of convoluted. Went there for front brakes on a Sunday since they were one of the few places open. Picked up the car after it was done and there was a rattle under the hood and the brakes were squeaking loudly. Went back a few days later and after a $21 diagnosis fee, they couldn't figure out what was causing the rattle. They said they checked all their work. I then went back for the squeaking brakes and was advised that they would fix the brakes for a $180 labor fee because "they don't work for free." I lived with it for a few more days but then called their corporate office. The regional Mgr. got back to me and directed me to their closest store who, fixed the problem since the other shop had failed to tighten a bolt and plate. There was one employee at the original store who was perhaps the rudest person I have ever dealt with on a retail level. Go there at your peril! read more

These people are morons that don't want to actually do any work. They just wanna say the first thing that pops into their 2iq brains even if it has a negative effect on the customer. I brought my GF's Prius in a year ago and they told me I needed to replace the hybrid battery in that Prius, a $3k repair. I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion, who took the time to diagnose the issue, and it turns out to be a water pump, $300 repair.... I bring my car in today because it has an ABS code on figuring it's simple brake work, and what is their diagnosis? Replace the hybrid battery... Is that what they always say? I even explained, "hey Sam I'm almost 100% sure it's not the hybrid battery, can you look into the break actuator or skid sensor?" (Simple Google search told me it could be these issues) His response "I don't mess with hybrid batteries" ... Did he not listen? Does he not care? He then told me to come get my car because he doesn't work with hybrid batteries... Oh and by the way here's an update for you, once again took my car to an ACTUAL MECHANIC who took the time to physically look into my problem, and all he had to do was reprogram the ABS system. Literally 0 parts required for this work, IT TOOK HIM LESS THAN 2 HOURS TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX MY ISSUE, and these people tried to tell me I needed a $3,000 repair. This is the problem with idiots like Sam in management positions, not only is the information they give to their customers non factual, they do not care about the effect it has on their customers. If I was just a regular person without my very minimal knowledge of vehicles/errorcodes would have taken Sam's word as factual and paid $3,000 into a problem that didn't exist. If you look at all the positive review on this place, it's people who need a new battery, new tires, brakes, a window motor, repairs that require 0 critical thinking whatsoever, and that is extremely accurate. You seriously need to look into better training for the management at this location, or at least explain to them it's ok to say "sorry sir we cannot diagnose this issue because we don't want to take the hour out of our day to look further than an error code." That ^^^ is a much better answer than just spewing lies to customers like your current management does. read more

I've had my fair share of great and not great experiences at this location but my latest experience will most likely keep me from ever coming back. Two months ago I had a new radiator installed. Recently I noticed my temp gauge going up above where it should be. I took it in to my new, trusted, local mechanic and he said the hose that connects the coolant reservoir to the radiator was not attached. I was not completely shocked because of the lack of oversight that I have experienced in the past with this firestone (and other firestones as well). Jennifer is the queen! I called Firestone last minute due to the fact that I was going out of town and had gotten a flat tire , as well as needing an alignment. I did not realize that it was New Year's and I was waiting till the last minute. Jennifer answered my call of many words and helped me with everything. She was so sweet so accommodating. This company is so lucky to have someone like her representing them. It was so busy Jennifer handled all of the pressure so well. What a beautiful soul! Hi Brian. I was in there Sunday about 1-130. Your guys really need to do better. After passing all the tests Firestone was willing to do but not checking for a draw on the battery as I specifically requested we drove the car for an hour to charge it up as your guys told us. Turned it off and immediately it wouldn't start. That was our third trip to your location for the same problem. As I told your staff I can't be worrying about the car my daughter is driving around. I set up an appointment online for this location and when I arrived there was no record of my appointment. No problem though as the manager informed me that they could get going on my car right away. After about an hour and a half of sitting in the waiting room, I came outside and noticed that my car hadn't moved from the spot where I parked. After a short talk with an associate I realized that no paper work had been filed for my vehicle and my keys had been sitting on the counter the whole time. I received a relatively in genuine apology and no other actions were taken to rectify the situation. Very disappointed with how this was handled. Being as this review is about 6 months long over-due (Apologies as I was out of the country), I have to say that Jennifer and Sam have always been extremely helpful, honest and fair. This review is about Sam's handling of my mom's tires. (I have been coming to this Firestone for years - with my own car and Jennifer has been amazing). Based on my recommendation, I advised my mom to get her new tires at this Firestone location as I have a long history with them. Jennifer wasn't working but Sam handled this visit. He got me a good deal on a brand new set of tires (out the door with an alignment). Although the car was not finished on day 1 (there was an calibration issue with some of the sensors as this tire was new to market and they couldn't find out why the sensors where not working properly), Sam was able to get my mother a rental car, figured out that the new tires were the issue with the sensor, upgraded the set of 4 tires and honored the same price as the lower set. It was really appreciated and the tires from what I've been told are still not causing her any issues. (People working in the auto industry, repair/maintenance and towing never seem to get enough praise. I equate it to visiting a dentist. No one is ever happy to go see them, always over-protective of the work that is being done and extremely sensitive when the work is finished). Jennifer and Sam have always been forthcoming, fair and do their best to help out whenever they can. I appreciate this location and will continue to have my auto needs done here. read more

The manager tells me it going to be $150 because I need synthetic oil even though I told him I don't want it and I bought the car new. The car is in perfect condition with only 44k miles and 11 year old. The manager insists that I pay for synthetic oil or he cant help me. Motorhome people read! Just left after having problems with a tire valve. Most places seemed not to have room for a motorhome to pull in and not worry about turning around. This place has plenty of room to turn around and a drive though the back that I was able to get through with my 31 ft class C. My hubcap was also put on too tight and another place(s) didn't have the wrench size. Firestone did, and put on my needed extension at no charge plus they did it right away. Then a got a quote to put in my new "in the tire long metal value stems" and it was almost half the price of another place. While the other places I checked were all nice the guys who fixed it, I wish I got their names, were great! read more
