When I did call to find the price of the tires for my car, Brandon help me over the phone about the best tires and promotion they had. He gave me a quote over the phone and I did the appointment. It took only about two hours for the whole service and I got four new tires for my car plus they have free rotation service. Service is horrible. I made an appointment for 11am, for an oil change and assumed since I made an appointment it was secured that I would be helped accordingly to the time I booked. So I left and waited for them to call me while I shopped at the mall. I came back 3 hours later assuming they might have forgotten to call me that my car was ready. I walk in and they still hadn't taken my car in. Every time I tried talking to the worker he'd walk to the back shop area. This is unacceptable/ unprofessional that there was no communication whatsoever was in the time frame. I had to pick up my kids from school assuming I would be out before 1:30. I was not out. Until 2pm. My biggest issues is the lack of communication if they were short staffed they could've communicated and I would came after work with my kids. Price point is affordable but at what cost of having to leave my kids at school later than they had to be in the office waiting. I took my vehicle into Firestone for a simple spark plug replacement on July 3rd. What should have been a routine service turned into a months-long nightmare that ended with my car leaving on a tow truck instead of being safely driven home. After the work was completed, my vehicle began misfiring badly. Firestone refused to take responsibility and insisted the issue had nothing to do with their repair. I had to take my car to another repair shop, where they immediately discovered the real cause: Firestone had left a plastic zip tie inside my cylinder, directly causing the misfire and damage. This was not a coincidence--it was a direct result of their work. Despite clear proof, Firestone still refused to take accountability. Communication was slow, unhelpful, and dismissive. I was left without proper transportation, stuck with a broken vehicle, and forced to fight for months just to be heard. Only after I escalated the issue and contacted the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) of California did Firestone finally cooperate. Four months later--in November--I finally received a refund. No apology. No accountability until a government agency got involved. WARNING TO OTHERS: If Firestone makes a mistake, do not expect them to immediately own it. Document everything. Get a second opinion. And if you're being ignored or dismissed, contact the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) right away. This could have been handled quickly and professionally. Took my car in yesterday on June 3, 2025. Needed repairs on a sensor for tire pressure. For me an important thing to have a message pop-up that lets you know your tires are going flat. Ralph and Danny both assisted me, and let me know that they would do their best to get it done quickly. I went shopping for a bit came back and my car was done. they worked with efficiency and had all the knowledge necessary to advise me on what I needed done for my car. They had given me a quote when I left, but when I got back, it was $50 lower than what they first had quoted! What a frustrating experience. I called, explained the diagnosis I had on the car, and made an appointment with their specialist. I was there for four hours before my car was even looked at. So frustrating. In the end, I had to come back another day because they didn't have the part on hand. The part I specifically said was needed. I have had 5 to 7 sets of tires mounted at this Firestone and they have always done a great job. I usually just bring in the wheels and tires separately from the car, but they have never damaged the wheels and have successfully installed a set of tubes with a pair of race slicks as well (some shops have no experience installing tubes these days). I had been going somewhere else previously until that shop damaged a set of expensive wheels during the mounting process. That is when I switched over to this Firestone and they have been great. Stopped at this location en route to Santa Barbara to see my college kid. My tire pressure lights came on and I was traveling solo. I called the store for help as my navigation system was giving me incorrect directions. Ricardo answered and took time to explain and guide me to the location. I was assisted within a few minutes after arrival. My tires were checked and I was told there was a possible puncture in a back tire. My estimated wait time was one hour. I recently went to Firestone Thousand Oaks to get a brake inspection. I decide to get a second opinion but they declined the service due my lug nuts being stripped. ( FYI about 1 month I put new tires and rims). I went back to the place where I got my tires and rims. And they told me whoever did my last work used the wrong lug nuts. All four rims where scratched and had the wrong lug nuts. This is extremely frustrating due to the fact that They stretched my brand new rims. Obviously they don't know what they are doing. I don't understand how they could of mess up my rims like this. They are extremely careless with their work. They wasted my time for horrible service. I would never recommend this place to anybody. The place where I got my tires/rims showed me the amount of pressure needed to apply the wrong lug nuts vs the correct ones. It was pretty obvious that they were the wrong ones. read more

An hour and 30 for an oil change is ridiculous. I have places to be. Let me know earlier if you can't do a simple job on time. It's my own fault, but I've been taking my cars there for a number of years and complaining for doing so. You could drive a brand-spanking new car to their shop from a new car dealer 2 miles away and they will find $500 in repairs you need. As a family, we stopped bringing our cars there. We just don't feel they are honest and they are certainly not efficient. Often experienced very long wait times just to see an "advisor". Sometimes just crazy waits. Then they'll tell you your car will be ready at 3:00 PM but it's more likely ready at 5:30 or 6:00 PM or at closing. Also, I don't believe they are on the up-and-up. I asked for a quote on an oil change for my European car and got a number of quotes within 5 minutes. It was nuts! I said never mind. They seem like the type of shop that give all auto mechanics a bad rap. Just my opinion. They are open 7 days a week which is very nice. And I agree with a previous Yelper. Josh there is a good guy. I've been here three times and each time the folks at Firestone Complete Auto Care Thousand Oaks took great care of me and my vehicle. First time was earlier this year when I came in for an Oil Change. Ricardo was super communicative from start to finish - no surprises in service, pricing, etc. I dropped off my car and got the call when it was completed. Second time was when I locked my keys in my trunk. My Corolla has some trunk issues where I can only open with my main car key. I gave Firestone a call and Zane immediately put me at ease and said he'd be down to take a look. Not only did he help me jiggle my way out of this predicament, he took the time to inspect the problem and sprayed some product to hopefully result in a smoother trunk experience. Third time was this afternoon - apparently my tire pressure warning came up after a cold night outside and Zane helped me top it off and made sure for four tires were good to go. I am so grateful for these guys at Firestone auto, they went above and beyond to help me when I was in a real pinch. My car's battery died and I was starting to panic because it was getting dark and the person I was talking to with the roadside assistance program that I paid extra for when I bought my car was giving me a hard time. I happened to look up and noticed that firestone was within walking distance so I decided to take a chance on them instead of dealing with roadside assistance. One of the employees walked to my car to give it a jump (my car broke down quite a distance away from the business) and then they changed my battery for me, no problem at all. On 12/09/2022 I had the misfortune of scheduling an oil change at this location. They informed me they were backed up and it would take until about 6pm to finish with the vehicle. I told them that was okay and I understood and would just walk around the area until they were finished. 2 and 1/2 hours later (well after they were closed) I walked up to a closed shop and them shutting the door. I quickly ran around back to check in with my vehicles progress and noticed it was still up in the racks. Not one of the employees would make eye contact with me and when I finally asked, "Hey guys, do you know how much longer it's gonna be?", a man walked me over to my vehicle and showed me where they had bent my oil pan from applying too much pressure in an attempt to remove the drain plug. The mechanics explained that they had forced it off, causing a bend in the oil pain, and rendering it incapable of functioning, causing an oil leak. I asked them about the cost of fixing their mistake and they quoted me $300-$1200. I asked them if they could do anything to lower the cost of this breakage and they seemed apprehensive. They said they would fix it and then a week later after many calls told me that they thought I was going to call a tow truck to service it to a more respectable mechanic shop. Then after over a month of calling the service location, customer service, a claims representative, and corporate, they informed me that they would not take ownership of the damages caused to my vehicle under their care. The mechanic shop that I had it towed to has sent me photos of where it is very obvious that Firestone's carelessness is to blame for the current damage to my vehicle, and even suggested that I take Firestone to court, yet no one will respond to my calls. Avoid this place at all costs. Firestone does not care to take care of you the customer, and only devices its sick and twisted ways of screwing you over. Tell your friends and family. read more

In the past two years, this Firestone replaced my tires and did rear and front brakes. I have discovered they: 1) Failed to balance one of the four new tires they put on (took it back and they did it); most people would have never noticed that it was not done and the tire would have worn prematurely. 2) Forgot to put a tire cap on one new tire (acceptable mistake--I took it back and they put it on) 3) Stripped the wheel bolt/nut on one rear wheel (took to dealer to replace bolt and nut) 4) Stripped the wheel bolt/nut on one front wheel (took to dealer to replace) 5) Put the front brake pads on upside down (dealer discovered the error) Fixes cost me $161. Lesson learned: Everyone makes mistakes, but I will never go back to this shop. I can't trust their work. read more

Had my car serviced at Firestone in the Oaks Mall on Thursday (Oil change). The guy came out and said my battery tested bad and needed to be replaced, my windshield wipers needed replacement, and my brake fluid was low, and meant that I probably needed by brakes replaced. (also said I needed maintenance on the tires I had purchased elsewhere 2 months ago. He was trying to sell me on all of these things which I declined. He said I could go out and get stuck if the battery died. Since I bought it at AAA, I came home and called them. They looked at receipt for the test and told me he used the wrote code which gave a false reading, and the AAA test shows that it is good. Then he opened the hood, and we were both shocked to see my battery. Apparently rats or mice had been under my hood, and had their food source (seed pods from my neighbors tree covering the battery. (See picture). He never even mentioned this to me when he came in and told me I needed to replace the battery. I went down the next day. (It poured rain and nothing wrong with the windsheild wipers), and showed the manager the picture of what was under my hood after 2 other shops were shocked to see that they just left that stuff on the battery without blowing it out. He kept giving excuses for his tech saying that they wouldnt be able to do that in their service area. Since you can enter their service area from the front and go right out the back, I send they could have done it outside. Then his reasoning was that they air compresser wouldnt go that far. Anyway they could have broomed it out, wiped it, etc. Instead, he chose not to even mention it to me when he tried to sell me a new battery. He probably thought I would never raise my hood. Anyway, with all of his excuses, how would he even change the battery if I had chose to do so without getting that stuff on his service area?
