Nobody ever wants to be stranded with a flat tire, but my misfortune turned out for the best. As I was driving through the heavy rain this morning, my dash lit up signifying I had a flat. I pulled over to the closest Firestone. Greeted by Christian, the Service Advisor, he immediately got me in and determined that my tire was irreparable after showing me the metal rod that punctured my tire. I was in and out within 90 minutes. Although I was saddened to have to get a new tire, I couldn't have been more pleased with Firestone's efficient and professional service, which without, I would've been stranded. Called to make an appointment and was told to arrive by 5:15 and my car would be looked at to see what the issue was. Had to cancel patients to make the 5:15 appointment. When I arrived on time the same employee who booked my appointment told me they could not look at my car today. I don't understand the point of making an appointment only to be turned away. I sent my wife here because they do free flat repair. They made me make an appointment and then they had my wife's car for three hours to then tell me they did nothing because the nail was in the sidewall. The nail was dead center of the tire, not in the sidewall and the tire store down the street did it for free in 10 minutes! Not to mention, they tried to upsell her by selling her two tires for almost $600 and all they needed was the nail pulled out of them because the tires were almost brand new. The service representative was honest. The tire I requested service for was losing air. The Firestone Complete Auto Care in Las Vegas, NV, recommended that I needed two tires. The Van Nuys team took a picture to illustrate the issue. There were two nails in the tire. They determined they could patch the tire vs. replace the tire. Their service of patching the tire saved me money. The two tires that needed replacing were very worn. I did get two new tires. I highly recommend their service in Van Nuys. I had no appointment, but their service was completed promptly. They offered bottled water or coffee while I waited. Since I left there, I have not had any car issues. read more

Came for a brake inspection as I was hearing/feeling a metal grinding noise (not your typical brake squeal/grind) I was told it would be ready by 2:00ish, but after I skated to the shop from Sherman oaks, they said it would not be ready at closing. As I knew, my brakes were fine but was thinking it was a rotor, caliber, or something else. They said the noise was a result of bad wheel bearings. I was skeptical but went through with it. Only to be told that there is only warranty on the part, not labor -- and the receptionist couldn't even tell me how many miles the parts were covered for. There is no way this is true The noise still comes intermittently as before but would not produce again (of course) when I brought it back unsatisfied from paying ($1.1k with no fix) They offered a brake cleaning/adjustment. Down 1.1k with the same problem still and doesn't feel any better after the wheel bearings "fix". Why didn't they offer a brake cleaning/adjustment to begin with ($40) vs something I'm almost certain didn't need replacing ($1.1k). Learn from my mistake and get a 2nd opinion as they seem to guess what the diagnosis is and pray and hope it's the right one. read more

I needed my AC unit inspected (which I already knew it was going to take longer than a normal car inspection) so I decided to call this Firestone location at 11:30 am to see if there were any availability for this type of request. The lady who initially assist (Marisela) was able to book me a same day appointment at 1:30 pm. So I requested to take work off early so I can make it to my appointment on time. However, when I get to Marisela and told her that I was there for my 1:30 pm appointment, she stated that she didn't think I would be able to be seen today because she didn't anticipate for three cars to arrive between the time I called and my appointment time and that she only had one mechanic working today because they were short-staffed. When I then asked what the point of making an appointment was, she deflected to answer my question directly, instead by saying she understood that I was here for my appointment, but again [insert the two aforementioned excuses here]. When I replied back asking why she didn't just tell me there was only one mechanic working today because that would've influenced my decision to make the appointment in the first place, she again took zero accountability/zero apologies and instead (with a more defensive tone) regurgitated the same two excuses she gave me initially. An appointment, by definition, is an arrangement to meet at a specific place and time. Marisela clearly didn't know what the meaning of an appointment was. Otherwise, she would've given those two excuses to the third customer that pulled his/her car in for service and allow me to keep my appointment at 1:30 pm instead of giving me that speech. I can only speculate why they operate the way they do (e.g., maybe the mechanic didn't want to take on a harder job today), but they shouldn't be giving customers a false sense of hope for their convenience. In the end, the only option Marisela gave me was to have me reschedule with them, but what would be the point if they can't keep their word, anyway? I work six days a week, 9-10 hour days so it's a Godsend when I can actually find time to take care of errands during a weekday; it isn't so convenient for me to just pick another day like the way Marisela seemed to think. Thankfully, the Firestone in Encino was more than willing to accommodate and tackle on a difficult job. Consider your options next time before going to the Firestone in this location - it'll be worth the extra drive! read more

I arrived to firestone about 5 minutes before closing and Jesus took me and did my service even though they were about to close. He changed my flat tire and took care of the nail inside. I have had great customer service from a woman who works here and when I've come in concerned about my tires, I always get great service (possibly because they are hoping to sell me new tires). But general maintenance and oil changes are a different story, including the latter taking three hours even when I made an appointment, workers breaking parts in my car and then replacing them with generic parts and hoping I won't notice, and keeping my car on a lift for half an hour after they have told me it's ready to be taken home. The one star is specifically for customer service. No advance notice that they were running severely behind schedule. When I made my appointment, the associate on the phone said my car would be taken at 1:30 and done at 3:30. When I arrived, I was told that they were behind schedule and would be done by 4 the latest, and would call me to let me know when my car was done. 4:15 rolled around and no phone call. Firestone "complete" auto care is nothing more than an elaborate scam. This company, especially this location DOES NOT care if they repair your car or not. I have an electrical issue with my car, and my windshield wipers aren't working when I turn them on. Called the North Hollywood location and they said they don't handle electrical, but the Van Nuys or Studio City location could accommodate me. I called the Van Nuys location and explained exactly what was happening. The woman on the phone set me up for an appointment and assured me I'd be able to get my car diagnosed and repaired. I made an appointment for Saturday, considering I work during the week. When I get to the counter the same woman I spoke to over the phone asks again what's wrong with the car. I tell her again and show her a video I captured of the issues. She then takes my phone to the repairman to see if he can conduct the repair. Then she comes back five minutes later and tells me he can't do the repair. TREMENDOUS WASTE OF TIME!!!! Now I have a car that still needs to be repaired, I have windshield wipers that don't work, and now I get to look forward to wasting my weekend to find a repair shop that can actually do the repair. Not to mention, if it rains and I'm on the way to work, I'm screwed. Firestone was completely dismissive of the issue, and instead of helping me find a viable option, they were okay with sending me on my way to figure out the issue on my own. Nice to know my safety was never their concern. This isn't the first time this has happened either! In the past I needed engine work done and Firestone again couldn't conduct the repair! Firestone "Complete" Auto Care is a huge lie! There's nothing "complete" about a car repair shop that doesn't do engine or electrical work. Two of the most important components of any vehicle and they'll turn you away and waste your time. Car washes are more "complete" than this company. This franchise is extremely corrupt! I purchased a one year tire alignment service from another location. When I called this location to get my alignment done, they told me I have to go where I purchased the alignment deal and they would not do my tire alignment. Upon calling the original location and speaking to both them and corporate; I was informed that this location should have done my service and it's not true that only the place of purchase can be used. I called back this store and even their manager said they should have taken my car. Filed a complaint against the store manager well over 48 hours ago. Firestone policy is to follow up within 48 hours. After 7 days I finally spoke to an area or regional or whatever they call them manager. I had to follow up with corporate 3x over 7 days to reach him. They lost my business moving forward at any Firestone location as a result. read more

I came in for an alignment, because my truck was pulling to the right. They tried to convince me relentlessly that it's was my tires. Here's my story.... I left San Diego yesterday early morning and made PIT stop in Corona. My truck had been pulling right for a couple of days despite having the truck serviced for an alignment recently, but then is started shaking aggressively minutes before arriving in Corona. I am wondering did something come loose again??? I tried getting a Firestone shop to service my truck that same day at about 3:00pm. Reached a Firestone in CHINO HILLS that was very friendly and suggested I just bring it over. To my surprise the friendly not so friendly Firestone turned me away at 4:30pm. I find this Firestone in Van Nuys, near my final destination. I scheduled an appointment for the very next day early morning. I arrive, and the female clerk was trying to convince me that the issue was my tires and in addition wanted to sell me a full inspection at $29.99 to find the issue. I stuck to my guns and said "let's start with the alignment" and upon completion of the alignment .... what do you know? The camber bolts had become loose and 1 broken, presumably the reason for the shaking (not the tires) an alignment was done but was not perfect due to the missing camber adjustment bolts. After personally inspecting the front suspension I did not find any missing or broken bolt . The male clerk insisted I needed new tires, and he said he had some tires in stock in the same size, but were not mud terrain. I need mud terrain, I have rural property that requires mud terrain tires and 4X4. "The tires could be causing the bouncing" Take a look at my tires in the photos, they're a little dirty because we've had continuous rain all this year but they are far from inadequate. read more

Took my Jeep for an oil change and to get 2 screws loosened on the A pillar. I don't have the correct torx wrench. Alo promised it would be ready in 90 minutes or sooner and that he would call me. Never heard from Alo. Two hours later I called Alo and he said it was ready. He also informed me that he wasn't going to loosen the screws. It would taken them 20 seconds. Haven't been to a mechanic around this area, since the start of covid, and needed services done asap. Car was having brake issues, so called and talked to Avo. He gave me the run down after talking on the phone, took my car in for inspection, updated me daily on his findings, gave quotes before starting work, and had my car completed with what I wanted by the next day. I received the best service from this location compared to all of the other Firestone locations I have visited. It was my first visit to this service center. I had a wheel alignment appt and my car was serviced quickly. I didn't have to wait the normal 1 to 1.5 hours that I have experienced at other Firestone locations, especially when I had an appt. The tire manager, Avo, went out of his way to make sure my car was brought into the bay quickly. This experience was surprising since I was not going to spend additional money at this location since I purchased the lifetime wheel alignment in the past at another store. I only come here for oil changes with a car check and they perform those well but they never fail to do the urgent-over-$1000- recommendation list. Auto shops are a tough place for women and this place contributes to that. This time around, they kept my car for that oil change for 3 hours and it was dropped off with a morning appointment. I had to call them to find out when it was ready rather than the other way around and the service girl that answered was unjustifiably rude. It's fine if you know what to expect with them but take their list to a trusted auto repair/family mechanic so you know what your car actually needs. read more
