My sister-in-law bought tires here and had a leak in one of her tires, she went in and they put a plug in the tire. The plug was sticking out past the tread on the tire and was still leaking so she took it back in and they told her the tire needed to be replaced and made her buy a new tire. Way to take advantage of a female customer for your poor work and not standing behind your tires. Wont go to Firestone. read more

I took my car to Firestone for an oil change on 3/18/13. (I know that seems like a long time ago, but it is relevant.) Not long after I dropped it off I received a call from them stating that I had a nail in one of my tires. They could repair it for me for $30. I figured they already had it, may as well fix it then and agreed to the charge. I mentioned this to a co-worker in passing and she asked, "Did you actually see the nail?" I hadn't. "Then how do you know that there really was one in your tire?" I thought it was a good point. I silently kicked myself for not checking first. Flash forward to this past Friday 2/7/14. Again, I dropped my car off at Firestone for an oil change. 2 hours later my phone rang. I knew what was coming: "Your left rear tire has a nail in it. We can fix that for you... for $30." "No, I do not approve ANY charges other than the oil change." My office is a block away from Firestone. I was there in literally three minutes flat. "You just called me. Show me the nail." Instead I was shown a white circle on one of my tires supposedly indicating where the nail USED to be. I was told they had already removed it and it wasn't leaking after all. "No charge." I do not have proof that Firestone employees tried to charge me for non-existent nails in my tires. That being said, I do genuinely believe that is what happened. After these two personal first-hand customer experiences with Firestone I will never give them my business again, nor would I recommend them. read more

We got a flat tyre on our way back to LA, they were open on a Sunday (thank goodness) and Monique gave us excellent service, they changed our tyre valve and were fast and explained everything to us clearly. Really appreciated not getting upsold on anything and Monique was professional and friendly throughout. 10 year Firestone customer will NEVER return to this location on California St. due to Dale the manager. Beware of this shop and his arrogant tack ticks. I'll be brief. 2 months ago I visited this location to purchase 2 tires. He only has 2 in stock. Dale automatically added all the coverage's with out explaining them and justified this by saying he though I wanted them. (Check you invoice!!) insult #1 It was raining and so It was a week before I was able to wash the car then I notice the unexpected. His tech used a hammer and a screwdriver to remove the balanced weights Not only did he scratch my wheels, he heavily gouged them from the center to the face. If you had your car here form Feb 2019 to March 2019 CHECK YOUR WHEELS!! I contacted Dale and had him inspect them. His initial response " Are you sure you didn't do this?" (Insult #2) I shrugged it off and assured him my wheels where spotless until his guy worked on them. After 3 days and not one phone call, I finally got a hold of Dale and he mentioned he fired the guy who damaged my wheels because he caught him using the wrong tools on another customers car but never apologized for his arrogant accusations. He then proceeded to give me an address for a company in Camarillo who only works M-F 9-5. I explained to Dale I work in SB and 5-4 Pm and cannot make those hours. Here is his proposal: You and your wife Rush through traffic at 4:05 PM on the 101 to drop off your car then drive all the way back to Ventura to get your rental car because he will not pay for any other location. To show my willingness to work with him, I propped my 50k car on jack stands in garage, making my wife and toddler to deal with rain and cold weather for 1 week while I delivered the wheels to Dale so that he can get them repaired. I also offered to pay the difference in cost to simply replace them to put this ordeal behind us. He refused. The results: they simply repainted the black wheels but did not repair the gouges. Dales response, sorry I'm upset and we will need to do this all over again. In good humor I stated after this is all done im sure we will be good friends, His exact words " that or I'm going to shoot you" yes word for word. I filled out the Bridgestone, and have not heard back for Dale nor anyone in management. Take my advice and check your wheels, as for me I will never return to this store again. read more

The location was super-convenient... good thing- had to coast into the lot and walk home. The after-hours drop stuff was easy to find and fill out. You may want to take your own pen, I can't remember if they had any with the envelopes. The issue not likely caused by the oil change I got the day earlier. Still, annoyed that the tech notes were not mentioned before I authorized the work. Was told there was a bad thermostat, that would explain the motor running hot. Was not told the motor was misfiring or about the white smoke coming out the tailpipe. Had I known, I probably had all the work done at the same place- Firestone can't handle a head gasket (the smoke/misfire...) Could probably have paid for the diagnostic at Firestone and saved some $ having all the work done at the same place. In their defense, they repaired the thermostat... so I gave two stars, for the tech. The customer service guy dropped the ball, not the tech's fault and the work seems okay. read more

Don't go here for alignment or oil changes. Chose this location because it had more stars than the Oxnard location, and I was wrong in assuming I would get better service. Everything started out great everyone at this location is extremely friendly can't say a single bad thing about customer relations. I spent 2 hours getting my oil changed and alignment done on my 2014 SUV. I got a call to pick up my car and when I arrived I paid for the services I requested and I was given some paperwork on what they did to my vehicle. No explanation of the services was given. As I walked out of the store I realized I was not given the before and after results of the alignment service. I walked back in and was greeted by a different employee would hand me the paperwork, she stated that my alignment was good and no adjustments were required. I took the paper smiled and thanked her because I believed her. I got into my car and drove off a satisfied customer until I got home. I looked over the paperwork and realized that toe, camber, and caster were all out of specifications, I checked my dash cluster and also realized that my oil life indicator stated 9% oil life. I immediately called the shop and was told that alignment was done and the technician remembers making the adjustments and ensured me that my vehicle was within manufacture specs. I asked them why I was told earlier that no adjustment was required? And I got a confused and unbelievable response. I asked for an appointment to come back the following day to ensure my alignment was within specs and they obliged my request. I was offered a free oil change on my next visit for my inconvenience, but only after I asked. The next day I arrive on schedule and explain the situation to the manager. He said he knew nothing about my issue and apologized for the inconvenience. He issued a business card with a handwritten note stating I was entitled to a free oil change. An hour later I was given the paperwork on my alignment and most of the numbers was within specification. The manager stated that they could not adjust the camber because they didn't have the tool to do it. He said that it was possible that another store might have the tool but made no attempts to call to see if any of the other local fire stones had the tool. I left with the understanding that the tool was a manufacturer tool and that the dealer would have to adjust the camber. I made my way out the door and the technician was parking my vehicle. He went over the alignment and told me the camber was out of specs and that it required a tool that he didn't have. He then went on to say that he was retiring in a year and that he was not going to buy that tool. I was taken aback because I was getting more contradicting stories. The technician then gave me instructions on how to reset my oil life indicator, just in case they (Firestone) are in a rush and forget reset it. I hope to god they're not in such a rush that they forget to put the drain plug back, or actually replace the oil filter. It seems that if they have the tool in the box they'll do the work, and if they don't they'll just charge you for it and say one of four responses; your alignment didn't require adjustment, your alignment was adjusted and is now within specs, your alignment is within specs except for one or two areas because it requires the manufacturer to adjust it, or I'm not buying the tool to do the job you paid for! Extremely dissatisfied with my experience at the location. read more

Came in from out of state and wanted them to check my tires are perform a balance and rotation. They could have squeezed me in as a walk-in appointment later but I made an appointment for the following day. They took me a few minutes early when I arrived the next day, and quickly executed the job while I was sitting in the waiting room digging on their free Wi-Fi. Super nice dudes and friendly enough. Hit a pot hole pretty hard, knew my alignment was off. Came to this Firestone to have it done. After waiting a while, they put it on the rack... and said there was nothing they could do about the rear camber being way off. I told them I had adjustable rear lower control arms, and that I would literally show them how to do it. Their service manager went back out, spoke to the tech for a few minutes, then came back and said, "If the computer doesn't show us how to do it, then we can't do it." I was 2 hours in at this point so I was a little annoyed. It's as simple as turning a ****ing bolt. Took my keys, drove off to the Firestone in Oxnard, and had it done in an hour. No drama. Rude, argumentative, and lazy. Folks, if your vehicle requires any slight amount of technical knowhow greater than the minimum of what a part-time Jiffy-Lube monkey could handle then stay away. Otherwise be prepared to be treated offensively -- it's how these people cover for their incompetence. Also be prepared to weather a bad attitude if you dare to arrive slightly before your appointment time on a slow Monday morning. It's a pity since this was our go-to service shop in Ventura. I have waited a few weeks to write this review because I realize that everyone is entitled to a bad day, a mistake or just outright blowing it. I also like to evaluate my own state of mind before I blow my top. I've decided that this situation was in fact to egregious to let pass and I wish to ensure that any other woman dealing with Firestone is forewarned. I made an appointment with Firestone for an alignment on the recommendation of Motion Tires after replacing all 4 tires and having completed the week before a comprehensive tune up and oil change at the dealership. I arrived 15 min. ahead of time and informed them that I would walk to a friends shop on California while the work was done, giving them 2 phone numbers they could reach me at. I was told my vehicle would be ready in approximately one hour. 1 hour came and went, then 2, and 3 at this point I thought to call and see how much longer it would be. Imagine my surprise to find it not only ready , but it had been ready for hours, and they were very sorry they left a message on my home phone even though I was obviously not at home and had given them the numbers to reach me. And as if that was not enough, I was told that I needed nearly $2000.00 worth of repairs (on a vehicle that had just undergone major repairs) said with a straight face. Needless to say I took my auto and the next day returned to the dealership (whose head mechanic is family) to show them Firestones evaluation and have those items checked. My car was fine, other then my tires being put on inside out and the fact that I am highly dubious about if an alignment was ever done, because I am still feeling a distinct pull to the right when breaking. read more

I love this place. I last was here last year when I came to get a pair of new tires for my toyota prius. I was greeted by super friendly staff and they recommended to me the best tire for my needs. They informed me of a promotion of 0% interest for 6 months on their firestone credit card and so I signed up for it and was approved and picked out 2 awesome tires at a great deal. I was told to come back in an hour as they had to put the tires on. I walked to Main st. which is the downtown ventura and walked around visiting other small businesses. When I came back, the tires looked great and I as informed of the warranty and all the bonuses of these new tires. I will be back when I need my next set of tires. read more

I've had my car for 6 years. Most of those 6 years I took my car to either a small-town mechanic, or Jiffy Lube. Having moved away from home, I found myself in need of a place to take my car, other than the dealership to get basic maintenance done on it. I was hesitant to take my car here. I didn't know anyone who had taken their car here, or what their prices were like. But it was close to home... and my car was about 6,000 miles overdue for an oil change. Since my first visit here for a basic oil change, I've been back for tires and another oil change as well. They fix what needs to be taken care of in a timely manner, and they'll let you know of any other problems, with no pressure to have everything fixed right away. They will however, keep you from driving off if your tires are so worn that the metal is showing through the rubber (My girlfriend didn't believe me when I said she needed new tires. thats what she gets :-p) read more

AMAZING service!! Staff is so friendly and nice. I originally went there to purchase a new tire for my Civic. All my other tires were firestone so i wanted them to match.. They quoted me $118 for a tire like my others but with a longer tread life while big brand tires quoted me $136.. both with taxes included.. I was beyond ecstatic that firestone took me that day and finished in about an hour although there was a few people still ahead of me. I wouldn't have been able to get my tire fixed until the next day with big brand. Firestone is quick efficient and generous. They included a complimentary inspection/topped off all my fluids. Included a warranty all all four of my tires not just the new one i had purchased..
