(If you value your personal integrity, dignity, time, and personal belongings, AVOID American Tire Depot aka big brand tire vineyard location in Oxnard. It would be a surprise to me that leadership would continue to allow the current manager named Michael to over look their operations at this store. I brought my vehicle in for a brand new rim change and they damaged my rim. Accidents happen but how a business manages errors will tell you everything you need to know. Michael took no ownership in the damage of my vehicle and instead deflected by accusing me of cursing "his staff" out so that he could feel justified to talk down to me, be incredibly rude, hostile, and refuse to give me a printed invoice of an ordered replacement and instead aggressively yanked a blank sheet of paper out his printer and insultingly scribbled "gonna order wheel" and kicked me out of the store while glaring at me and following me through the shop windows. Unbeknownst to him I actually had footage of my interaction with "his staff" immediately after they damaged my vehicle WITH audio that clearly depicts me responding with a calm demeanor and no cussing or hostility. (The staff encouraged me and gave me permission to record damage on wheel and it picked up the audio as well.) I will attach this video on this review to support my claim and the scribbled letter that Michael begrudgingly wrote and aggressively slid across the counter. To the district manager's credit, (his name was Greg) he did ensure the replacement of my wheel. This doesn't replace or excuse the experience or this manager's conduct. Michael should have skills to deescalate HIMSELF rather than exacerbate a customer interaction. I should've never been placed in a position to defend my character after a business damaged my property. I think it's important for the public to know so you can utilize due diligence when selecting where to have your tires replaced or car worked on. ) i can't imagine if they would have believed me had i not had video footage and kept that letter Michael scribbled. Below is summarized letter to district manager due to yelp review length limitations. Good morning Greg, My name is ..... and I regret to present an issue with your Vineyard store location I was given no other option but to escalate. I will be attaching videos showing my Method rim prior to service undamaged (time stamped) and my rim after service with damage (time stamped). These videos will also depict my tone which I want to make very clear because of unfounded accusations by the store manager Michael. I brought in my Toyota Tacoma on 6/24 with your invoice indicating 3:57pm. My videos of my time prior to service in your parking lot before I walked in will indicate an undamaged rim. I did a walk through with Mike. He stated, "if you never told me which rim to replace I would've never known" again confirming these rims are in undamaged condition. I indicated to Mike "please take care of the rim being replaced because there is nothing wrong with it and I plan to use it as a replacement or a mounted spare on tailgate". Unfortunately this is not what happened. When the rim being replaced was given back to me it had noticeable visible damage down to the chrome where the matte black finish was removed. Carlos, the other employee working when I picked up the car was receptive to taking accountability on the store's behalf and correcting it with a resolution that he put in writing. I dropped my car off today for a tire rotation in front and alignment and I had such a wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly positive and professional since I purchased my tires there the balancing was complementary, and I only had to pay for the alignment which was reasonably priced. I felt comfortable and confident with the new team they took the time to answer all of my questions and address my concerns. I went in with a screw on one of tires, knowing the very high possibility of having to get a set of new tires due to age and mileage. I had an appointment at 7:30am, Michael the supervisor got me checked in immediately and broke the news that they cannot safely patch it up because of the age as I expected. He was able to recommend a good set, got his guys to mount them and performed an alignment and got me back on the road by 9am. Michael was super helpful, great customer service and helped me with some savings. Definitely will be back! Let me tell you, man. Larry is the greatest worker I've ever met in a business. I've been coming to American Tire Depot since my first tire puncture in 2021. My mom recommended this place because of its hospitality and the fact that they fix nail holes for free. But for me, it's Larry who keeps me coming back. Larry is always so genuine to me. He's also incredibly respectful to other customers, and his kindness is contagious. I don't think he's doing it because it's his job; he genuinely loves helping people. My mom still remembers his hospitality and kindness even though she doesn't live in Oxnard, California anymore. I was telling her that I was going to do a walk-in brake change today, and she asked if that one nice guy with glasses still worked there. Larry is the greatest! He always looks out for his community and like me, creates a reason why I love coming here and not trying to go anywhere else. Yesterday I went to American tire depot because my girlfriend's car needed two front tires. When we took the car in, they were able to notice that the rear tire tires also needed to be replaced as well as a few other items that were very important. They took the time to show me exactly what I needed and to show the where and tear of the tires and brakes. They gave me a great price and were able to source the parts locally and do the repair ASAP. They did a great job and updated me every step of the way.
