I want everyone to know what great service I had when I needed a car battery on a Sunday late afternoon less than 2 hours before they closed. I called and wanted an Interstate battery and was lucky enough to speak with Brian who I found out was the manager on duty. They were already busy but he checked to see if they had the battery for my car and told me to come right in. He quoted me a reasonable price which was the price that I paid when I left no hidden surprises. I needed a battery so bad that I was afraid to shut my car off in fear I couldn't get it started again. He warned me of other appointments but said he would be able to squeeze me in as long as I was patient knowing that he was fitting me in. I am very thankful for that and the entire experience with lady that helped me from the moment I walked in. Her attitude was outstanding and also made this a great experience. When arriving at the place the story completely changed. They were now not able to keep their word and instead I was told they would need to have the car for at least 2.5 hours. read more

The manager refused to balance my tires even though they were above the legal tread depth for California. I paid for "lifetime" balancing, which is apparently up to the discretion of a newbie manager who knows nothing about tires. The manager tried to push some junk tires on me for replacement. I went there because they are near my house and have a Road Force Balancer, which I now doubt they used (or know how to use). read more

I went here a couple months ago after my care overheated--- even though I am a girl I knew others things were wrong with my Jeep. I took my car to Moonlight Motors in Encinitas and was quoted $3,300 dollars- knowing that was very overpriced I decided to look elsewhere and came upon Firestone. Great customer service even on a SUNDAY. I called and spoke to Gil immediately that morning and he told me to bring it right in...as soon as I got there I was immediately greeted by the very friendly manager Gil....he looked at my car right away... Made an appt here to have my oil changed because my cousin referred me and they had a coupon on their website for a 5qt synthetic oil/filter change for 19.99. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Oil change took about an hour, which I didn't mind. The reason for the 3 stars is because they offered me a complimentary vehicle inspection, which I accepted. During the inspection, they found a nail in my tire which they deemed "unrepairable". Having bought my tires at Discount Tires and having a warranty with them, I decided to wait and have them look at it. Well, I took my car back to Discount today and upon inspection, they said the nail didn't even go through! No repair needed (maybe that's what Firestone meant by 'unrepairable'?). Not sure if Firestone was just incompetent or if that was their way of trying to sell me an unnecessary tire, but either way, they were wrong. I went in for an alignment and there were no surprises, the waiting room was clean and Brian and Tommy were both friendly and professional. They kept me apprised as to the wait time and when my car would be headed back. It has been quite a while since I have been at a Firestone auto center (maybe 20 years) but they have come a long way since then and I will be seeing them again. Feel they did not diagnose a problem correctly and caused me to spend more $ than necessary. Will not go back.

Had 4 new tires put on my Chev 2500hd, I requested that I they save 2 of my old tires as they still had lots of tread and put them in the back of my truck. That didn't happen even though the instructions were on the paper work. I also requested that ALL the balancing weights be put on the inside of the wheels. Again didn't happen. Then during the tire installation they call me up and tell me that my radiator hoses feel "soft". HAH! they were 2 day old premium name hoses!! Talk about trying to upsell. Why would they be under the hood of your car during a tire installation. The biggest issue was that during their unwanted and unasked for "courtesy inspection" they did a battery test that jacked my stereo settings and really messed up a custom tune I have in the trucks computer. When I returned the kid working the front desk did get my tires returned to me but refused to rebalance the tires. He threw my papers back at me and told me to talk to someone named Brian. read more

I went in for brakes and the gentleman at the counter noticed that my tires were worn also. He was very profesional. I really appreciated the care he took in making sure my truck was in good working condition. My brakes were fixed and tires replaced quickly. The waiting area was comfortable and clean, and overall, for an auto shop visit, it was one of the easiest visits I have had. read more

These men were SO helpful to me last week before Thanksgiving. We had to have a tire replaced before leaving to drive to Las Vegas for the holiday, and originally had an appointment at the location at the Carlsbad Mall, who had said they had our tire in stock. I decided to check out the Vista Firestone because it was not as busy and could get it done quicker before the road trip. The Vista location did not have the exact tire in stock, and my car is 4WD and must have all tires the same. As the man was looking, he checked the Carlsbad location (as I had told him I had an appointment later in the day) and he confirmed that Carlsbad did NOT have the tire either. I was very upset that the Carlsbad location had misinformed me. As I was on the phone with the manager of the Carlsbad location, who was so unprofessional, he had told me they had a tire in Riverside and I could "drive with my spare and stop there on my way to Vegas." That was so rude and not a way to help a customer who was already upset for have been given inaccurate information. The manager of the Vista Location was so kind, and offered to exchange ALL of the tires on my car (I had purchased the insurance from Firestone when I originally bought the tires) and could see how upset I was with the Carlsbad manager. I will definitely be coming back here and avoiding Carlsbad Firestone at all costs! read more

I've been going to Firestone at different locations for my oil changes for a long time. I don't know anything about cars and quite frankly don't stress over costs to maintain or fix my car because I know it's just something I have to take care of and don't have time to bargain hunt. I couldn't tell you if the prices at Firestone are reasonable but what matters most to me is customer service and Nic and Tim at this location were the best. I had to get 2 new tires and Nic went to a different location to pick them up for me like it was no big deal. They never once tried to pressure me into an upsell and every time I spoke to them over the phone to check on my car they were friendly and joked with me like I had been their customer for years. Just for the service I received today I will definitely be returning to this particular location and probably specifically when either one of these guys are working. Thanks Nic and Tim! read more

I have been taking my car to this location for years, and I am always extremely satisfied, this time was no exception! Brian was great! He kept me informed of the status of my repairs, he gave me honest and accurate timing as to when my car would be ready, and he was very professional and courteous. It's really difficult to find a place you can trust, but these guys are great!!! I should also mention this is not the closest Firestone location to my house, but I have no problem driving a little further for excellent service! read more

I was helped by both Brian and Thomas during my time at the business. I had come for an Oil Change, but my car had been having issues, so I asked how much it would cost for them to see if there was anything wrong with it. They did a free inspection, and gave me a fair quote on the damage, and noted everything wrong with it. They even advised against repairing or changing some things, and instead waiting a bit. Which inspired confidence in me that they weren't just trying to rip me off. They were friendly and did their best to ensure that I, and all the other customers were pleased with their service. Store Manager Brian Mendoza was simply amazing. I've been going to this location for some time now and these guys have always been spot on. BUT today Mr. Mendoza went above and beyond expectations not only with me but from what I witnessed. He was short handed and the only one at the front, he mentioned to me that they will try their hardest to get to my car, told me the situation and constantly keep me in the loop with what they were doing and how long it will take. He also was amazing to watch how he was able to keep his cool when things started to get overwhelming, still tending to everyone in a timely manner as well as updating others that were already waiting for there vehicle. Don't know how he did it but I know I wouldn't have and I know many that wouldn't have either but he did and made it look easy.. Buy far the best experiences I had. Made an appointment a couple days in advance, I show up 10min in advance to make sure not to loose my spot. I am told they can't even bring the car in the shop to look at it for another 2 1/2 hours!.... What's the point of appointment ?! I have been a loyal customer with Firestone for more then 7 years. Mostly for oil change, change of tires and breaks. It was decent service at reasonable prices. Or so I thought... The past few experiences led me to believe that Firestone differs significantly from place to place. Less then a year ago, I purchased tires with life time warranty and I also bought life time alignment. I got a good deal on tires paying $590 for 4 tires with warranty. I took my car recently for oil change and tire rotation and the mechanic recommended that I change the tires because they were pretty worn. I requested tire rotation every time i changed oil which was every 3000 miles at most. Now, I was told that the warranty is not going to cover the new tires because I didn't do any rotations as I was supposed to. After arguing with them for more then 10 mins and trying to explain that I have requested that they do the rotations regularly they employee simply pointed at a blank screen trying to prove me he was right. I gave up and left! I am going to change my tires but I won't come to this place again. read more

Brian was the service advisor who answered by phone call and handled the paperwork in-store. This was my first time at Firestone. I went in to have one tire replaced, due to a puncture. He was helpful and handled my service well, giving me a same-day appointment and keeping their word about the service being done in less than an hour. He also called and left a message to tell me it was done. What I did not like is the add-ons that are pushed at customers and the fact that you can't find pricing for basic services online or in the store displayed anywhere. Brian explained that it depended on the car and type of service, but I just wanted a price for an oil change and basic service such as tire rotation and balancing. That is one thing that the website can improve on. Also more accurate tire pricing, with the ability to find the price for an exact tire model. I am glad to have my daughter's tire fixed. i "wow it is unbelievable what has happened to customer service these day. discovery of so many companies such as yours put profit before customer relations. i would like to point out that your return customers bring more to the company then a first time customer. if i was treated as i was as a first time customer the way you treat long time customers. your business will eventually suffer. first sign is coupons then what. i should not have to make a appointment for oil change and tire rotation and to see if they had time to do alignment. never issue before it was done. this guy says he has appointment at 8 am. had not arrived as i was there. first appointment of the day not on time. as well his next appointment was 9 am which i did not know the status. for him unable to perform a oil change a tire rotation. which were purchased from you as well as lifetime alignment. you sell something you can not do or capable to do. it is not my concern that you are short staff or call in. you make it happen. he just didn't want to do the job as his appointment take precedent over a walk-in and that appointment was not at the shop being worked on. he ask what do you want me to do. simple your job. the company should have informed of the policy change that they take appointments only. you are loosing money at the store if that is the customer service you are providing. what a great loss of potential revenue by ignoring the main part of your business which would be your loyal customers. over 7 years plus. even you email to respond to the issue 24-72 hours so i should have received a call from management as that is know over your response time. ignoring your customers is a very poor idea to build relationships that are strain. you have just reinforced the store policy of appointment only as well as excuse of being short handed. so is that the reason you failed to respond as you so indicated seems that way there is no excuse for the response from the store as well as corporate level. as well you may come up with a reason why. excuses and reasons are the same no difference. so is your company full of excuses and reasons on how the business works. just a simple solution is poor management from top to bottom. this will be and has been the downfall of many business. if you every watch the tv show kitchen nightmares. the ownership has all but excuses and reason runs 144 hours to date and then another 24 to 96 hours before any attempt by management to speak to me. so how do you expect me to prove as 3 cars prior 2-f-150 super crew and nissan sentra which i no longer own and no reason to keep the records for them. i have only two vehicles hyundai sonata that are serviced at that location the 3 are no longer in my possession. so the person says i have to prove i am a loyal customer. all of those have been charged on the bridgestone, firestone card. as far as i am concern it corporate bull you are trying to pass off to your customer base. seeing your response this is how you work. ignore ignore ignore. you first email said you have submitted my request for refund of lifetime warranty for alignment. now i upset even more what about the tire rotation. your store incapable of performing that function as well so now want refund for all the future tire rotation for the lifetime of the tires expectation which is about 15-20dollars maybe more so i purchased 100,000 mile tires so say i have 30,000 on them i have another 14 tire rotations i have to pay for. why because i bought a service you were unable to fill or do. so two lifetime warranties at 160 a pop $320 plus tire rotations read more

i needed a tire rotation and balance since i bought the tires there it would be free thats why i went there. i had called a day earlier and asked if i needed an appointment and was told no problem so i went there when the opened 8am expecting to get service rather quick... no so. after about 10 minutes with no one at the front desk to help i noticed a sales man in the garage through the glass on the phone he saw me but did not acknowledge me at all not a "we'll be there soon" or "i'm sorry for the wait" nothing. whatever though i only bought $700 worth of tires and other work plus the tire ins. that i thought would ensure me at least something. then when the salesman finally walked up to the counter he knew he wasn't gonna get any commission he said that i needed an appointment and they would't even be able to get to it till noon!!!!! 4 hours. complete auto care or a complete waste of time read more
