While inspecting my car, they did find a few other things that will need attention, and they printed out a detailed list with prices so I know what needs to be done in the future. They also recommended taking care of one item during this visit along with my original appointment. Jemil the Service manager was very nice and kept me updated while I waited in the waiting room. I scheduled an oil change and A/C check but when I showed up they had not logged the A/C check as part of the inspection. They told me their A/C guy was backed up and couldn't do it. I was upset cause that was the most important thing. BUT! They were gracious enough to accommodate me and do the test. The guy at the counter seemed young and the follow up service and requests took forever to get a response. In fact, several people I spoke to said, they didn't even get a response/call back yet in any info or estimates they requested and it's already been more than a few days. Hopefully they just didn't forget about me or brush me aside. That is unacceptable. Ever since the Japanese guy who I used to see at the counter there left, service seems kinda shady now. I have always gone to Firestone for my tires and today it was so disappointing to have had the worst customer service experience. What tire shop can't order tires? And they didn't even offer to look at the tire to see if it's repairable (I had to then call around other companies and they all offered to look at the tire to see if they can repair it). I also had tire warranty which I felt like is also another reason they just didn't care.. like why offer it to customers when you can't deliver and the warranty was not expired whatsoever. WHAT AN AWFUL AWFUL PLACE. I have never had to put out reviews but just such an awful place. I recently bought all 4 tires from another Firestone location, and just my luck not even a week later my car alerts me that my back left tire was low. Even after I filled it back up with air, the next day it alerted me again that it's even lower. I couldn't see anything in the tire, but I called this location (because it was closer to me), and asked if they could see me. The gentleman (sorry I forgot his name), told they are all booked but if I come now they will squeeze me in I'll just have to wait a while if that's ok. As much as I didn't want to wait, I had to get this fixed. Once I got there, both guys at the desk were very welcoming and knew exactly why I was there already from the phone call. They did explain to me it could take up to 3 hours due to them being booked up but they would try to get it done before then if they could. I didn't have a ride so o had to stay and wait. Well, these guys are amazing because they got me in and out in and hour and a half! Made me so happy, and I'm sure I can speak for most or all women that we dread coming to get anything fixed when it comes to our car, because we always seemed to get hustled into shit we don't really need fixed. But not these guys. I actually felt comfortable, and was thankful they found the nail in the middle of my tire that you couldn't see. Mahalo Firestone Waipahu! The guys at reception: Jacob and Jamil were helpful, knowledgeable, informed me about options and offered excellent customer service. I did not stay in the waiting area while my toaster was getting worked on, they'd call every now and then to give me service updates and when it was time to pick it up. We found a staple in my tire today after pulling over to put air in when the low tire pressure light came on. Drove to Firestone and was able to be helped same day. We were hoping it only needed to be repaired but the staple was too close to the sidewall so it needed to be replaced. Thank goodness they had the tire we needed. I was shopping for tires and found some on a tire website. I was able to order them, have them shipped to Firestone and Firestone was going to install them. The shipping was quick and once I was notified that the tires were delivered, I was able to call and easily make an appointment. When I brought my car in for the 8am appointment, check in was quick and was quoted a 2 hour wait. I received a call about 1hr 45min later that my car was ready. After over 20 years of business with Firestone and at this location, I will no longer provide them my business or referrals. The Road Hazard service is a scam. We purchased 4 tires, 4/2020 with 65,000 mile warranty and Road Hazard Service. Well we had a very slow leak in a back tire, so coordinated to get it repaired under warranty. Note: Tires purchased and mileage on vehicle was only 50,954. At time of bringing car in for tire repair today 2/23/2023 was 75,214 miles. So only 24,260 was the mileage put on the new tires. Clearly less than what is considered very low mileage, when less then 10,000 miles a year. Well we were told the tire we brought the car in for needed to be replaced and we needed to pay difference of value. Then were told that the two front tires needed to be replaced, due to wear being around a 2 level, measurement they use for tire wearing. Also, that one of the front tires had a patch. Well why would we have a patch since we had the Hazard Road service warranty...think about it. Basically, we had to replace 3 tires at a cost of $405, when we paid for 4 tires in 2020 for $497. Think about this, is something very wrong here....yes! They have lost my business and referrals...stay away from them, the business practice is very sketchy and questionable. You have been warned and this is the first review of this nature I have done, so appreciate my frustration and dissatisfaction with Firestone. read more

ZERO STARS. I used the online scheduler to get my 40,000 mile Maintenance done on my vehicle and they sent me an email confirmation. They later called and asked me what I needed. So I tell them I need the 40,000 mile maintenance. The person on the phone tells me so you just need an oil change. Told him no I need whatever is on the 40,000 mile maintenance. He tells me he doesn't know what's on that. Wow! What a dummy. Doesn't he have cool yet system telling him what that service entails? Or is he just lazy to look it up. Long story short I told him I'll go somewhere. I don't trust companies who don't know what they are doing. And too lazy to punch in the make and model in their system to see. They were basically the only ones open during Labor Day. I hope they got good holiday pay. I had a bit of a tire emergency. They were able to look up my previous history with Firestone and get it squared away really quickly. The gentleman at the front was nice enough to give me some tips about tire and car care, and he even brought a chair outside for me to sit in while I waited. When I first got to O'ahu, I would take my car for service at the dealership. I honestly don't know why, it was brand new and I guess I thought that taking it to the dealership would guarantee great service, but it ended up just being too overpriced. I've always seen Firestone right across the street and once I was quoted for more maintenance on my vehicle, I thought it was time to seek other places to maintenance my Mazda. I have used Firestone on the mainland, but I'll be honest, the customer service was always hit or miss which made me hesitant but none the less, I scheduled my first appointment here and I honestly haven't gone anywhere since. Since my first appointment, I've had multiple oil changes, new air filters, got new tires, did a coolant flush, and today I had an emergency screw in my tire fix with no complaints every single time I've gone. The appointment process is easy, I schedule online and select all the services I need, and once submitted, I get an email confirmation a couple days later and a phone call the day before my scheduled service. Check in is easy too, wait time is anywhere between 1 hour to 2.5 hours depending on how busy they are, how many workers, and how many appointments they have scheduled plus walk-ins. Customer service is always good and thorough and they always quote you before services start so you know how much you'll be paying at the end. I always recommend Firestone in Waipahu to anyone who talks about needing to service their car. Big props to all the workers there, even in the summer heat, they're always nice and welcoming. From calling to making an appt to checking out they were very friendly and nice. I needed one new tire & it was a reasonable price. One thing I loved was that they were able to mount my new tire onto my SUV and dispose my old one with no extra charge. & they also put my spare tire back underneath my SUV which was not easy for me to take off. This is more to do with make an appointment online. I went online and I chose the date the following day. It gave me options with regards to which hours were available. Chose one and I got a follow up email with regards that my appointment was being processed and I would get another email when the appointment would be ready. I never got the follow up email, and eventually I called and I was told that they were booked up for at least 5 days. Something is definitely wrong with the appointment service online, because it gave me at least 4 open appointments for the day that I chose. read more

You will get a call a few hours before the appointment telling you that your appointment is cancelled, the website doesn't actually work, and everyone with appointments that day scheduled them at least a week in advance. Through a mixture of company and personal vehicles I have never had any major problems here at Firestone, they have done work to our vehicles that I would have not known how to do myself but not without small screw ups which is why I am giving them a 4 star. The worst thing I can think of besides some pretty long wait times is when they replaced the clock spring for me on a 2014 Nissan Frontier, during the process they managed to chip a small piece of Nissans. . .decorative. . .cheap plastic off part of the steering wheel leaving a triangular hole. The thing is that they were totally honest and upfront about it, they pulled me to the side and apologized and explained what happened, introduced me to the tech. that unfortunately caused the damage and asked me how I would like to handle it. I told them no worries and ended up super gluing that baby back on. In comparison Another big garage whose name I won't mention, although it may sound similar to uhhh Lood. . .Lood Beer. . .decapitated our hood support stick and said absolutely nothing about it, I discovered it when doing an inspection of their work later (because I have trust issues with vehicles ok, and this didn't help let me tell you) we called Lood Beer and they told us they would run the cameras in the bay, then called us back and apparently the cameras have actually been out for like a month? Yeah. . . Sketchy right? Firestone takes responsibility for their mistakes when they make them which is how I ended up coming back even with personal vehicles, as mentioned before the wait can get pretty long sometimes when they are busy and there have been a few instances where we drop a vehicle off and they don't end up getting to it so we come back another day, however I will continue to come back for the service we have received and the honesty of the staff who brought something that I might not even have seen to my attention. If you are looking to go to a big garage for service and you are worried about the dishonest world of car repair go ahead and check out the Firestone here on Farrington because if they come forward about something so trivial as a tiny piece of missing plastic then you can trust them to bring something to your attention that can cause you harm. read more

Went to repair my grandfathers two front tires 6/27/20, The lady who helped us was somewhat rude and seemed irritated. Anyways after we replaced the two front tires , my grandpas TPMS sensor popped up. and my grandpa lives hawai'i kai side so he had to come back waipahu to get it checked out. We went back to Firestone 6/28/20, and we told the lady about the TPMS sensor, told us tire pressure was good and that they don't touch the TPMS sensor and said they could do a diagnostic check for $37. I told her that the TPMS sensor came on AFTER we got it serviced here. Terrible service, also my Dad talked to a guy Ron and continued to argue with my dad. Have I written too many reviews on these guys? Yeah, so what. I like these guys and the fact they have stayed in business since I was kid growing up in Waipahu since the 1970's. GEMS, Jolly Roger, Sunset Drive-In, the Sky Slide, Country Lanes, they're all gone, but Firestone Waipahu is still here - one of the last remaining bastions of a Waipahu I knew a generation ago. I took my Ford Mustang in for some engine problems, which they diagnosed and told me that major engine work like they anticipated was something they didn't do. They recommended a few shops, including one in Pearl City where I eventually took the car to. Now, even though they didn't do any work on the car, they were professional in referring me to places where my car could be taken care of. How about that? They took care of me - again. read more

I've been coming to this location for a very long time. Their customer service and prices have always been excellent. I usually go online for coupons and have no problems with redeeming them. And I also usually wait while they do my oil change, tire rotation and alignment. They seem to be getting faster - this time I only waited for and hour and and a half! Their waiting area is clean and consists of 6 chairs with TV. They also provide water and cups. Thanks for the awesome service! Save your money, drive to another location! I usually take my car to the Pearlridge Firestone, I never should have changed! I took my car here on two occasions - the first time, everything seemed fine so I went back. The second time, after my oil change and alignment, my car started leaking oil. When I went back to check, they said sometimes things shift, so when my car was on the jack, when they brought it down something may have shifted - causing a leak that was there before to leak more. However my car NEVER leaked oil previously - ever!! Now, a few months later, I go to get my oil change/alignment at Pearlridge (after vowing NEVER to go back to Waiphau). I get a call from Pearlridge saying that my tie rods froze because it looks like I haven't had an alignment done in over a year. I tell them, no, I've been going to Waipahu every six months. So I call Waipahu, they take absolutely no responsibility, say they have been doing the alignment and can fix the problem (for the full price of course). They said that despite Pearlridges opinion that they haven't done anything and the printout showing otherwise, that tie rods can freeze in a short amount of time and its just wear and tear. Like others said, they cover the incompetence/laziness of employees by their mechanics and shift blame to the customer. STAY AWAY. Drive an extra few miles and go to another location!!!!! read more

Stay far away, had front brakes and rotors replaced 2019. Few months later brakes skipping feeling uneven. Took it in and they said I need new rotors??? I complained that they just installed new rotors. Guy calls back and said okay we took care of it. A few months later it does the same. Take it back in and again guy says you need new rotors. Same thing except this time he says we resurfaced it. Again happened and again needs new rotors. Now the fourth time 2yrs later and 20k miles he states need new rotors not covered under warranty. Scheduled an oil change appointment a week in advance. Arrived at proper time, 2 pm. Waited until 3 pm for my vehicle to be pulled into service bay. It was finally done at 4:15 pm. A total of 2 hours and fifteen minutes for an oil change. I did not realize that the free courtesy check I requested was slyly changed to a vehicle inspection. WHen I realized the mistake the technician did a lot of talking but did not apoligize. I later called the manager and was offered a refund. This is NOT the place to go unless you have half a day.
