Couple months ago took my car for a alignment job and they did a terrible job, my car still pull to the right, also recently I did a brake job on my car and when I was trying to remove the lug nuts it was so freaking tight to a point probably would've cause the studs to break, that's how tight it was, they don't torque it, they tighten with a impact gun.. This review is for the 2 experiences I've had with this location, one was due to other places not having the tire size I needed to replace my flat, but they had it in stock and replaced it as quickly as they could, even when they were being slammed with customers at the time. The second visit was a few months later, this time it was for an oil change, again they were quick, even with dealing with a line of customers! Even if it was just for an oil change, they did other check ups too, just to see if my truck needed any other attention that could be a problem later on down the road (no pun intended). Went into Firestone Waipahu today to take advantage of their Standard Brake Service for $99.99 per axle (coupon). Justin helped me make a 2:00pm appt the day before (recommended). He explained they'd do a brake inspection first and then give an estimate. I already knew my brake pads needed replacing after getting an oil change and tire rotation two weeks prior at Midas Waipahu, who informed me the brake pads in the front were low and would need to be changed within a month. Justin checked me in on time and told me it would be 45 mins -1 hour for the brake inspection. I went to Savers across the street to kill time. Justin called within 15 minutes of me leaving to let me know that only the brake pads needed to be replaced and my bill would be $108.00 to replace with the coupon special. WHOOHOO! I was wary of this Firestone due to some of the comments, but believe me, they are honest, courteous, do fast work (It took only 1.5 hours to replace the brake pads) and my brakes felt better when I left, so if you don't see another entry later, the work they do is also good! read more

I've always had good experiences here at the Waipahu Firestone. Always courteous and professional. Easy parking (unlike Dillingham) & convenient for us on the west side of Oahu. I purchased lifetime alignment, tire rotation, and balance through Firestone at Hickam. I called the one at Fairington and they say that I'll still need to pay $5 per tire to rotate. I feel that this is misleading so I called the one at Hickam and they say it's free with my policy. I don't recommend Firestone in Fairington for this reason alone. If I already paid lifetime support, why would I still need to pay every time I go in? read more

Bought 4 tires from this place. Was charged $68 dollars for balancing. Nobody tells you $68 is only initial balancing and lifetime balancing is only $75. About $8 more. Trying to get you to pay twice. Then when they rotated and "balanced" my tires I drove home and I had a broken valve stem stuck into my tire where the tread meets the sidewalk. The manager basically told me screw me and nothing was wrong with my tire. I asked for the district managers number and he mumbled something and walked back inside totally ignoring me. I got home and sprayed water on the puncture and can see bubbles. DO NOT Go to firestone. Garbage. The manager sucks and your tires will mysteriously have broken valve stems stuck into them after they touch your car. read more

Made an appointment online on Sunday evening for 11am on Monday with Firestone Indy 500 tires. I received a call Monday morning from this location confirming the appointment. She tried to say I was all set for firestone all terrains. Which were not the tires I wanted. I explained that those were the wrong tires and she said if I wanted the Indy 500's I would have to wait a day and come in at noon. I agreed and showed up the following day at 1140. I was told the tires were not there yet so I called a ride and went to run errands. After not receiving a call from the shop for over two and a half hours...I went in. My car was still on the lift. I explained to the clerk I wanted my passenger rear tire back since it was less then a year old and had good tread still. They got the tire but gave me the wrong one. I initialed the tire before taking it in. I figured they'd try this. I'm about to call and ask for my tire back but I know they will say it's already gone. Also, I tried to use the military discount but was told they only do that at the locations on military installations. Wish they would have told me before or at least had a sign posted. All in all, will never return there. Long wait, smelled like weed, almost received the wrong tires, no military discount, gave back wrong tire.....I'll go to discount tire from now on. Do not go here for safety checks, especially if Sean is doing it. I've been coming to this Firestone for years for safety checks and wheel alignments, but never again. The place opens at 7:00 AM, so I got there at 7:00 AM for a safety check since it's first come first serve. I then find out that the guy doing the checks doesn't even come in until 8:00 AM. So I start out my day waiting for over an hour there just to wait for the guy. About 2 1/2 years ago, I was driving on the freeway and a tiny pebble hit my windshield, causing a crack literally the size of a nickel. I immediately had it filled in by Safelite, who assured me it will pass all inspections. That was over 2 years ago and I have gone to this expect Firestone both years after I got the crack and passed the safety inspections no problem! Now this new guy Sean takes a look at my car and fails me because of this crack that is the size of a nickel that I got filled in! I tried explaining it to the receptionist, which she then explained to Sean, but nope. Him or Ron (the guy who runs this Firestone) wouldn't budge. Frankly I never had any issues with Ron. He is a decent guy who knows his stuff. That is the only reason why this review is 2 stars instead of 1. The receptionist comes back into the store and I ended up having to pay for the safety check even though I failed, which I figured is some kind of state law or something so I didn't really care about that, I was just pissed that I failed in the first place. To top it off, they charged me another $5 for tint inspection which I was never charged in the past because my windows are stock tint! The receptionist said I have 50 days or something like that to fix the issue and come back and they won't charge me again. I told her how can I fix the issue when I already got it sealed with Safelite? Replace the windshield? She just shrugged it off, not knowing how to answer. You want to hear the kicker to this story? As soon as I left, I called up Midas which is 1 mile down the road from Firestone and they took me in right away, even though they had about 10 people in the waiting room for safety checks. I was in and out in 10 minutes with no issues with anything! Like how it should have been in the first place. To change my flat tire, she told me an upwards wait of 3 hours. I asked if we could wait inside since it was kinda hot outside, she Proceeds to tell me and my 2 year old son to wait outside. I understand covid but there is no one else here and it's not like you are at max capacity inside your store. To be clear, we weren't even allowed to stand and wait in there. She also Took my keys and said I couldn't wait in my car while they take "an upwards of 3 hours" to change my flat. Bad customer service. I'll never buy tires from here if this is what I have to go through just to change a flat. It was only after I asked if a different firestone had a shorter wait time, that my car was immediately worked on. We were there for an hour max. The mechanics are fast and super nice. read more

Showed up to location at 0800 (the time they open). Granted my appointment wasn't until 0900 but I was hoping that maybe I could drop off my car early. Problem was no one was there. At least 4 other customers had been sitting out side waiting for at least 30-40 minutes. You could hear the phone constantly ringing inside but not a single employee was there. How can a business confirm an appointment for a certain time and then not have any staff there to open the store. Needless to say I will not ever be coming back here. If you need an inspection, go elsewhere. Employees are friendly... as they fill you with BS. It doesn't cost them time and money. It's across the street from the DMV, convenient right? Until you come back 2 hours later for your sticker and are told to make yet another appointment, waste another day off and your gas when the counter guy makes it sound like the inspector will just come back out and slap the sticker on when you come back from the DMV after already wasting an hour for the initial inspection. It was my first time being a customer at Firestone, and I had a great experience. I originally came in to replace my passenger side tire due to some damage, and I was in and out of the place in an hour. Prior to my appointment I called Firestone to see if they even had my tire in stock and how much would it be, with the tire and installation included. I spoke to Donna, and she was able to order my tire, and even called me the next day when the shop received it from the warehouse. She set up my appointment and I was good to go. At the time of appointment, which was at 11, Donna was working in the front and got me settled in quickly. Also, she was so friendly that when a manapua truck pulled into the lot, she offered to buy me fried noodles because I didn't have cash on hand. LOL. Anyway, my mechanic was Wayne, and he's such a nice guy. He was as quick and efficient as can be (okay, being fair here, I only had to replace one tire), but still it was a job well done. LOL. I went here out of desperation. I needed new tires, costco and goodyear was out of my size. I get all four. About 3 weeks later (today) Im having my brother change the brakes and he can't get any of the lugs off he even stood on the lug wrench none on the front driver tire would budge he was even hopping on it. I take my truck to firestone and they tell me that 2 people sign off to ensure over tightening doesn't happen.. either they are both have inhuman strength and can take them off by themselves or they lack proper procedure at this firestone!!! Firestone Complete Auto Care Just wanted to share a little story about how "helpful" your Waipahu, HI location was to my wife yesterday. I get a call around 450 pm from my wife who says she just hit a pothole and her tire blew (mind you, she just picked up our 1 yr old daughter from daycare), so I tell her to drive to Firestone if she can. Fortunately, there is a location literally a minute away (Waipahu). She calls me back at approximately 5pm and says they just closed as she pulls up. I then drive to Firestone thinking maybe someone sees her and will at least make sure they're okay. But to my surprise, when I arrive, there are employees inside just closing up shop and I know they saw her outside. I then start to change the tire and put on the spare IN PLAIN VIEW of the front door as they WATCH me and not one employee even acknowledged us the whole time. This is the Firestone we regularly get oil changes and any work done at. I understand they had just closed, but to act like you dont see a woman and infant in need of help is kind of wrong. The first time I dealt with this Firestone location it was for a flat tire to be replaced. My wife left her car there and asked that they call us to let us know when it was done. We never received a call before they closed. I ended up calling the next day and they told us that it hadn't been done yet because they needed a question answered before completing the job ... After that, it still took a few hours to get the job done. I figured that last time was just an isolated incident so a few months later I went back to get my other car's tires changed. I sat in the waiting room for 2 and a half hours. The guy at the front desk had told me that it would be about an hour. From the looks of the place, it wasn't excessively busy that day. Good thing I wasn't in a bad mood and I had a game to keep me occupied. The thing is, the least they could have done was let me know it was going to take longer. I mean, I was sitting right in front of them. Maybe I should have learned from the first time (and a co-worker who said that the place wasn't very good) but I'm prone to giving people a second chance regardless of what happened in the past ... I value time; I would hope a business would, too. I planned ahead of time to schedule my appointment to change 4 tires I had purchased and just needed changing. I made an online appointment on 10/16/21 using their automated system; and received an email indicating the appointment is "processing". Shortly after, I received an email confirmation with a reservation #. Ok, cool. I should be all set. Then I get a phone call on the same day in the afternoon from Firestone wanting more details so they know how to better help me. Since it was a voicemail, I returned the call within 15-minutes, and I laid out exactly what I needed--change 4 tires that I would be bringing in to them to replace. The rep acknowledged all of this, and said, "See you next Saturday, 10/23/21 at 8:00am." I replied, "Thank you!" Note, on 10/21/21, I received an email reminder about my appointment--pretty standard for a business to inform you 48 hours out. Cool, thanks, it's on my calendar. Day of appointment is here. I show up to Firestone 5-minutes prior to my appointment to check-in; and boom... my name is not in the system. The guy asked for my phone number. Nothing. I said I have a reservation number. He said that he couldn't track the appointment with the #; then proceeds to show me his computer screen that my name is not on the schedule; and told me that I must be at the wrong place. *scratching head* ... I must've talked to a ghost perhaps last week Saturday; and I guess some phantom emails just made its way into my inbox to let me know that I have to show up at Firestone at 8:00am. Okay, so I look back at my "confirmation emails". I verbally confirmed the phone number they called me from and the number I called them at, as well as the address I was at. He replied, "Yes, that's all correct." Anyway, Firestone could not take my vehicle to change my tires this morning even with a voicemail to me, a return call to them, and 3 emails to show the appointment was set, so I left, but before doing so, was offered the only option to leave my car but not guaranteed to be serviced today because they were already booked and busy. That was it. Why give me an option without laying out any more details like estimated timeframe if it was left today... are we talking Sunday, Monday, next month? I'm a very reasonable person; and I get tech glitches happen in systems, but c'mon, I talked to you all on the phone, and I'm pretty sure the voice wasn't automated like the non-functioning online appointment system in-place. Management should take this feedback and figure out what happened, so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Return business is contingent upon how you will respond to future occurrences like this; and how frontline staff treat the situations--ability to problem solve and communicate are important traits in any customer service job--when you don't go the extra mile to provide a better solution or timeline of a fix aside from what I was given today, will be the difference between someone coming back to your business or not. read more

My reply is I don't have an appointment and possible that my tire has a nail. Response from the service advisor is their next appointment is next week. OMG! I can't believe the audacity of this company! My husband dropped the car off before heading in to work and was quoted $300 + for ONE TIRE, mounting and balancing, some road warranty, a tire pressure sensor, and an oil change. Husband called to tell me about charges and it didn't sound right to me so I called and told the manager Ron to cancel the order because we didn't have the money to pay that at the time. Ron continues to tell me in mumbled tones that we needed it but couldn't or wouldn't tell me why. Again I tell him to cancel the order and my husband would pick up the car during his lunch. I called in a second time to reschedule a time the following Monday for them to do the oil change since it was needed. My husband goes to pick it up and they had done all the work except change the tire! Then they had the nerve to tell my husband that they wouldn't give him our keys back since they had already done the work unless he paid the bill!!! These bastards scammed us out of our hard earned money and I will NEVER go to another firestone or recommend anyone go there EVER! DO NOT GO TO THE FIRESTONE IN WAIPAHU!!!! UPDATE: I called corporate and was told the area manager would contact me but after reading reviews I knew I may have to call more then once to get a call back and after two calls I was finally contacted by the area manager, Toby. I explained the issue and although it sounded like he didn't believe me he did clear up things Ron couldn't, like why we needed the sensor ..He did make things right and although I still wouldn't recommend their Waipahu location I do think firestone in general is a good company. Just be careful and don't leave your car unattended with any firestone. Smh if you feel jipped call corporate and don't give up after the first try. You have to watch these guys work on your car. I took my truck in for squeeky brakes, they told me they took it for a test ride (which they didn't) and told me everything with my brakes were alright. I told them I refuse to leave until they fix the brakes since they worked on it 4 months ago! I waited 1.5 hrs for them to tell me my brakes seem OK (no squeeky noises)...had to call up my hubby to come down and talk to these lazy bums...they wanted me to wait another 1.5 for them to change the brake pads!!! True story: I took my daughter's Tracker into Waipahu Firestone because it started overheating the day before. They charged me additional for testing and stated it was the upper and lower hoses and charged $400+ to fix it. I picked it up the following day. The very NEXT day, I decided to drive it to work before turning it back over to my daughter, I was driving up Kunia road from Ewa going to Schofield and the car overheated again...this time the very hose they claim to have replaced was spewing coolant all over the engine. I brought it to Schofield Firestone and informed them I just got it from Waipahu Firestone yesterday...why is this happening? They took 2 days to look at the car and then called me to tell me the radiator was cracked. When I went there, they pressure tested in front of me and coolant spewed from the radiator on to the technician. I immediately called BULLSHIT because when I opened the hood when it first overheated, it was clearly coming from the hose otherwise it would have scalded me immediately. I am, afterall, somewhat of a home garage mechanic too and knows how to assess damage. I stated the radiator damage was secondary damage due to the ineptitude of the technicians at Waipahu Firestone and it was now Firestone's responsibility to correct the problem or I will be filing a small claims law suit in court. I decided to first file an official complaint with Firestone on-line and they called me immediately and gave me a case file number and stated i would get a call from the Regional Mgr...it never came but I did get a call from the Waipahu Mgr. He tried to cover for his technician but that was futile. After 5 more days, Schofield Firestone finally replaced the radiator at no charge to me and then finally admitted after re-testing again that there was a defective hose and replaced the hose as well. Kudos to Schofield Mgt! My issue here is the same as everyone elses from reading these reviews, Waipahu Firestone needs to immediately stop covering up and start holding their technicians to quality standards and stop blaming the customers. This seems to be the consistency with the complaints. Also, if you are going to charge for coolant checks and supposedly fix the problem, then quality customer service tells me you should pressure check again before releasing the car back to the customer...clearly this didnt happen when I drove less than 20 miles before the new hose blew. Once upon a time, Firestone would waive the diagnosis fee if the repairs identified was done and completed by Firestone at the same time. I recently came in for brake service and oil change. I was shopping around to see who would give me the best deal to change my brake pads. It was obvious that if I changed my brake pads they would need to change the rotors as well, I knew it was better to change the rotors but I just didn't have enough money to do that, working as a receptionist, so I needed to a place that would just resurface them. All the quotes I got were from $700-900 and every place told me that I needed to change front AND back! My husband's co-worker told me he got his done at Firestone at Kaneohe for $200 but I really didn't want to drive all the way to the other side of the island. So I just took my chances and booked an appointment at the one in Waipahu. They told me that I only needed to change my front and that they can resurface the rotors since they were still in pretty good shape. In the end, it came out to $255 for the brakes with 24 months warranty and synthetic oil change (only oil my car takes). I also printed out the $25 off brake service coupon online and submitted the receipt for $25 rebate. The only thing that I didn't like is that I got there when it opened at 9am and I didn't leave until about 1pm! I did tell them that I was gonna leave and go across the street to eat and to call to see if my brakes needed to be changed and how much. I figured that they noticed that I had came back, but obviously not cause the service manager called me while I was sitting in the waiting area. The customer service rep, Chris, who is totally awesome, told him after the phoen call that I was sitting there. After about 3 hours I went outside to see if anyone was working on my car, they told me for the oil change it would be about 1.5 hrs and I didn't ask how long for the brakes but I figured about another hour and I went to the service manager and asked him how much longer. He asked if I was inside the whole time, YES! I saw Chris tell him that after he called me. He told me it would be another hour. I wouldn't have mind waiting since it was going to save me quite a bit of money but he completely forgot I was sitting in the lobby. I will come back to get my back brakes done though since it's the cheapest I've found on the island and all the labor they do come with a warranty. read more

Came in last night to get an oil change but unfortunately only one mechanic was working, so they couldn't take my car. Jon apologized to me for the inconvenience and set me up with an appointment for the next day. When I arrived, he held the door open for me and apologized again for the inconvenience. And to my surprise, he said he wouldn't charge me for the oil change! This place really takes care of their customers! They always have coupons for discount oil changes which is why I keep coming back, but this wonderful treatment is the icing on the cake :) thanks again! read more

Called in advance to make sure they had the tire in stock that I wanted. I was told they are in stock and quoted a price of 55 per tire. Firestone's site let's you request a quote which came in at 53.99 per tire. OK, not a big deal. But when I go in, the service rep tells me the tire is discontinued and hasn't been in stock for a long time, and I'll have to get the next one up, for 63 per tire. I don't know if they don't know their product line or just poor customer service, but it seems a little shady to have someone tell you it's in stock, the website let's you quote it, and then you're told it's discontinued? Not too pleased with that service, and the added cost. Should have gone to Costco, I guess. read more

* 9/22/2016 I ordered tires in 01/2015 and have run flats ok. I had 2 go down after a pothole and call the location I got them at Dillingham. They call right back and say none on island but can get them from a Big Island store for $60 shipping plus pro rated on wear. No problem I ask can they have shipped to Waipahu as its closer to me and the Waipahu Manager calls and says all good. Called every day since and no ETA, no Fed Ex (express mind you) tracking number. Now told will call me back tomorrow and only tire I can get from them nothing else in the system. Tracking numbers are basic and so is communication between stores how do you account for your inventory if you're just shipping it out? As it is i'm losing days of work due to the delay. Brought my father's car to remove a nail/screw on his tire since GoodYear said they couldn't patch it. So We decided to go to Firestone to see if they can patch it. Unfortunately they couldn't. Since my dad and son was there I just told them to replace 2 of the tires since it almost due for a tire change anyway. It was a little higher in cost than GoodYear for changing two tires but again we decided to give them business . What a mistake! When my dad was going home from my house the TPMS sensor came on, it wasn't on before the 2 tire service., I adviced my dad maybe the air is just low, so double check the tire pressure. He later called me and said it's all within spec. So today 06/28/2020, we brought it back to Firestone since they did the tire service and they wanted to charge my dad $37 for a diagnostic fee to check the TPMS light. My son who was at the shop talking to Ashley which is also said we will charge you a $37 fee to my son and I was on the phone talking to Ron. My experience with Ron was terrible, I ask him why are you charging them $37 to check the TPMS light if you guys was the last person to touch the tires when they replaced it. He replied cause it maybe a dead battery on the TPMS sensor. I told him that their was no warning lights whatsoever on the vehicle when we brought the car in. So I called GoodYear and they was kind enough to check it out. Overall my advice to customers through experience never go to Firestone instead go to GoodYear! The service at GoodYear is way better and even though I didn't get the tires there, which I should have, they was still willing to check it out for me without charge . Now that's what you call service! But when my dad them was driving to GoodYear the TPMS sensor light turned off on its own. Maybe ECU was adjusting to the new tires, that's my opinion that's why it turned off by itself. So I called GoodYear that it turned off so my dad will not be going there and I said thank you offering to check it out and they replied, you're welcome & anytime.....Never again I'll go to Firestone for my automotive needs. They just want to charge you a fee for service even though they was the last person to touch the vehicle. The TPMS light is associated with the tires that is why I questioned the $37 fee and again their was no warning lights whatsoever when we first brought the car in. read more

my registration on my trunk expired so i had to tow it somewhere my batter went dead they towed it to firestone i got a new batter had my truck thorough looked at when they were done they gave me a miltary discount even though my husband died two months ago from agent orange i told them i had to figure out what i was going to do with it with all the other stuff going on in my life do to his passing my registration had expired so i could not drive it they said i could keep it there for awhile it was going on two weeks before i could pick it up they never charged me for keeping it there these people are soo nice and understanding a heart of gold . godbless you all read more

We took our Mustang in for the lifetime aliment. I had a busy week & I had to reschedule twice. They were very friendly making my arrangements. I was told it would take about a hour and a half...but really it only took 45 mins. We used to go to the one on Schofield base - but we've had a few issues there. Mainly the tech didn't know what he was doing...my husband being the super smart "car guy" that he is tried explaining/teaching the guy - but the guy just wouldn't listen. So we didnt get what we needed completed. Huge waste of time & effort. now we're going to continue coming to the Waipahu location. read more

I rated them a five for their honesty. My car had an oil leak and I brought it to Firestone as they were the closest auto care from my place. They were not able to fix the leak because my car had a huge problem, so they did not charge me a single dime. They also looked at the other things that's wrong with my car. Very helpful for a first-time car owner like me. Customer service is very good, accommodating, and honest. read more

Came to this Firestone for safety inspection and was told three times that they do checks on Saturday 8-12. I even called and asked the hours on Friday. Come in Saturday and now they say they stopped doing them. I got my initial check here so I have to do my recheck here. The lack of communication between workers is incredibly annoying since I work Monday through Friday and now have to schedule a day off because they no longer service safety checks on Saturday which is the whole point of me choosing here. read more
