I've had good service at this Firestone a few times in the past. I think. I took my truck, a unique former military pickup (CUCV) in for wheel balancing and thought I'd get the alignment checked as well. I asked twice if they would be able to align the truck, and was assured they could. When I picked it up, they said they had a lot of trouble with it, because it wasn't in their system, but they got it sorted out. Trying to drive off in the truck, I found it couldn't make left turns. They agreed to fix it. When I picked it up they said they couldn't align it and refunded my money. It was now drivable, but the steering wheel was 180 degrees out of orientation and the truck didn't track right. I have an appointment somewhere else to get the damage repaired. Through all of this the staff was courteous and polite (with the exception of the tech who told me to take it to Fort Dix to get the work done!) The manager is a great guy. The problem is, if you can't do the work, you shouldn't be afraid to say so. When they saw their equipment couldn't service my truck, it should have come off the rack before they made it worse. I came here for an alignment after seeing an online ad for an alignment for $80 that comes with a 1-year warranty and printouts of the alignment readings before and after the service. When I came to drop off the car, they tried to charge me $85, as opposed to the online advertised price. Then when I picked up the car, they did not acknowledge any warranty - they said there is no warranty on alignments because the roads in philly are so bad. When driving off the lot, I still felt the car pulling to the side, and realized that they had not given either of the printouts indicating that 1.) the car needed an alignment, and 2.) that the alignment had been provided. I called them about this issue the next day, and they offered a refund. I took my car to another place a week later, and they said the alignment was way off and needed a lot of work to get it back to normal. I don't think they made my alignment worse, but they were about to collect $90+ from me for not doing anything!!! I will never go back here, and never recommend it to anyone!! read more

3 hour oil change! Made an appointment and thought I'd be in and out. Wrong! After 2 hours I asked how much longer and was told they had to get a filter, they ran out of them. What?!! Still waiting for it to be done, going on my 3rd hour which is ridiculous. read more

The workers are sloppy are incompetent. I took an older car for a noise I was hearing from the undercarriage and they told me it was the rear shocks. $700 later, the noise persisted. I had to bring the car back and have them raise it in my presence. I looked at the exhaust pipes myself with the mechanic, and it was immediately evident that there was a rust hole in one of the pipes, which was also disconnected from the pipe hanger, and that's where the noise was coming from. Obviously this should have been diagnosed the first time around. They couldn't fix the pipes and sent me to Midas. It made me think that they knew they couldn't weld pipes, so they went looking for other work they could do on my car, even though all I wanted was to get the noise to go away. Later that same month I bought a new premium car from an out of state dealer, so I went back to them to get the PA inspection stickers. The car happens to have light leather seats. Somebody with dirty clothes and hands sat in and left a large stain on the upholstery, and the grime from their clothes transferred onto the leather. I had to go back and the front desk attendant came out with some kind of spray to try and clean the mess up, but he couldn't make it 100% like new. This was 4 days after I picked up this brand new vehicle from the dealer! In summary, it was quite clear to me those people didn't give a damn about the customer's car, their work was sloppy, and needless to say, I will never return to that place. read more

Came here to get an inspection done because it was super cheap. Passed the inspection and was told my car was in good condition, and an hour after leaving the shop, my battery died. Firestone claimed they had nothing to do with it, but if you read some of the other reviews, you will noticed that others have experienced similar problems. All of the employees seem very nice and helpful and the prices are cheap, but beware. read more

Just had my Toyota inspected there. They couldn't find anything wrong, so they failed the car for headlights being too dim. They tried to sell me new headlight assemblies. I said I will buy the plastic lens cleaner. They said "Sure, you can do that if you know how". Give me a break. They told me the pass/fail criteria is subjective. I looked up the PA law, there are exact minimum candlepower requirements for low and high beams. I only went there because my regular guy was on vacation. read more

Originally made an online appointment at the Bala Cynwyd store on City Ave but after arriving at the appointment time, they said it would be at least 3 1/2 hours before they could work on my car's tire problem. Drove to the Wynnewood Firestone (less than 10 minutes away) and with no appointment they said they could have the tire problem resolved in 1 1/4 hours. In less than thirty minutes, they had looked at and repaired the problem that caused a flat tire, checked the air in the other tires and replaced the donut tire that had been on the car in its hiding spot in the hatch. All with polite staff and clean welcoming facilities. Wynnewood will be my new go to Firestone in the future. read more

I have gone here before a few times for maintenance on my car, however the last time I went and I was not pleased. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change and while I was on my way to the appointment they called me and told me they had to reschedule. I was frustrated with that to begin with, but I did reschedule. I took my car for the oil change and everything seemed fine and they said that they cleaned up the acid around my battery to make it last longer. Less than a week later, I am in a parking lot and my car doesn't start. I had to call triple A to come check out the problem. The issue was that the cables to my battery were not tightened, and he was able to pull them right off, which caused the issue of my car not starting. He was able to tighten them and my car started right away. He even claimed it looked like a set up that my battery was in that condition. I am not happy about this and I think i deserve a refund for my service that day. read more

I've been going here for several years now for various things - new tires, oil changes, cracked carburetor-- and the have always been very professional, quick, and reasonably priced. They are much better than going to the Honda dealer of Philadelphia --- do NOT go there. They are a huge rip-off. Every time I brought my car there, they would make up about $1000 of work that needed to be done. I believed them the first few times, then decided to take my car elsewhere and realized what a scam they were running over there. read more

I hit a massive Philly pothole and ended up with a bent rim. I was on the way to a salvage yard to get a used one, when my spare went flat! Luckily, I was right by the Firestone, so I pulled in. They fixed my rim, remounted my tire and got everything balanced in less than an hour, AND THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME A DIME!! I will definitely be back. read more

This place is convenient but sloppy. They dragged a hose across the roof of my Mercedes and the second time around the mechanic all but destroyed the upholstery on the drivers door post with his filthy black greasy hands, to install an inspection sticker. He also sprayed a solution onto the inside of the windshield which turned white and clogged up the holes on the car speaker. I managed to get it almost clean. This was a pristine new Mercedes before it went in. Obviously the owner has never looked at Yelp, nor do they care! read more

I had issues with one tire in my car and they made me replace all 4. I know that all service center recommends to change all or 2 but these guys didn't want to just fix one at all. I gave in as my car was flat and needed to get it repaired and had to shelve 400+ dollars for a Ford Focus. Next couple of times resulted in heavy labor charges for inspection and battery replacement that I have never seen anywhere before. I would not go here again unless you are getting specific thing fixed with the assumption of new parts replacement. read more

I took my car here for an oil change and a brake light switch to be replaced (the oil change you always need a coupon for or u will be grossly over priced for this service) needless to say when the technician called me he "told me" not "recommended to me" that I needed brakes, rotors, and the brake light switch replaced and to have all of the necessary repairs done it would cost me a little over 1000.00. I told the technician to only do the oil change and I took my car to the dealer for further inspection and they told me I didn't need anything except the brake light switch (which was 12.99 but firestone wanted well over 130.00 to replace and install this item). I was highly upset about this and contacted firestone's corporate office and all they could say is ..."sorry and that is not our motto"....I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy!! please find another shop to take your vehicle to that's more truthful and trustworthy! read more

I had an inspection completed on my 2005 Ford Explorer in August of 2015 at the Firestone in Wynnewood. I was informed that I needed to have the right upper control arm replaced on my vehicle to pass inspection. I had Firestone complete the upper control arm work so I could pass inspection. I recently had a mechanic complete suspension work and he informed me that when he lifted the vehicle that the front right tire was "loose". Upon further inspection I was informed that the nuts on the upper control arm we both extremely loose. I informed him that I had that work completed at the Firestone in Wynnewood so I could pass inspection last August. My mechanic informed of the seriousness of consequences that could happen if the nuts came off, tire falling inward towards the car. Easy to say, I was quite upset at this situation. I find it disgraceful that the mechanics, if you want to call them that, can't even tighten nuts. Incompetent and sloppy work on an expensive repair. I will never again patronize a Firestone anywhere and should have listened to the reviews online prior to having my vehicle serviced there. Buyer Beware! read more
