I don't like to ski and I have had a strong dislike of gyms. Walking up the stairs to check it out, I heard the familiar sounds of a gym - the slamming clang of a weight dropping and the driving beat of music. At this point, I am thinking, what the heck am I doing? I got to the top of the stairs and was so pleasantly surprised. It is clean, bright, doesn't smell, and is not at all intimidating. I love the machines! Much better than what I remember from past experiences. The members are all different ages, and very nice, considerate people. And then there is Marion. I have never had a personal trainer - always found it too expensive. She is reasonably priced and it has made an entire difference in my experience. I am getting so much more out of the gym than I would if I hadn't had a trainer. She teaches me how to properly use each machine. I haven't used her to push me - not yet. Marion is very knowledgeable, is a natural teacher and knows how to encourage me. Before I conclude, I need to mention Louise, the owner. She truly loves what she does and has built a business that she should be proud of. I am grateful for having such an awesome gym. Don't delay. Join this place!

So I came here using my 1 week free pass to check it out before I commit to a year (or 2) membership. There are two levels with the changing rooms and spin room on the lower level with the main check in desk. The upper level has the fitness room, cardio equipment and weights. This is a fairly small local place but is in clean decent shape. They do have up to date equipment and offer some good classes. The spin classes in the morning at 6 are full with a wait list. Although it is hard to get in the fact that it is full speaks for itself. I myself haven't taken a class and am thinking about it but augh 6 am to be on a bike. These folks really mean it! I've taken the step class and the Zumba and they were awesome. I def got my cardio work out. I am still need to test run a few others but this place may work. It is close to the commuter rail so getting off the train and right over for a work out is doable (not sure if this is a word). They do have a pool although I am not a swimmer. The weight room is a bit small but they have the basics and there are a mix of people at different times. Not sure I am finding the right workout group yet. I am looking for an energetic group of folks to help get me motivated and kick me into gear to get off my butt. I am not sure this is it. They will give you a lock for the lockers when you give them your keys and you can use the supplies such as hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower soap too since all are fully stocked and right in the showers. It is clean and private. There is plenty of parking and the area seems safe and fairly well lit. I am still looking...

I was looking for someone who would work with my 14 year-old brother on the 5x5 program that his school had assigned for the upcoming soccer session. Filipe was fantastic. He modified the program to better fit my brother's soccer needs and was incredibly patient and down-to-earth. My brother worked with him for about 8 weeks (roughly 3x a week)and felt huge difference during tryouts. The facility is brand new and well equipped plus Filipe's pricing is incredibly reasonable. You pay as you go and there is no need to sign up for an annoying gym membership. Here is what my brother has to say about his time with Filipe: Filipe not only helped me to become a stronger person but a more determined one, as his deep knowledge of fitness combined with his welcoming personality and unending patience created an environment of hard work and perseverance. His emphasis on proper form taught me the importance of not only the weight of what I was lifting but the technique I was using to lift that weight. Additionally, Filipe did not judge me but rather encouraged me to keep going when I made mistakes, giving me pointers to do so, all leading me to not only obtaining the strength I needed but the knowledge and work ethic to continue to develop. So in closing, Filipe's knowledge and understanding of fitness not only create a friendly environment to work out in but a mindset centered on hard work and dedication. P.S. - I recommend arriving 5 minutes early for sessions to accommodate yourself before Filipe starts working with you. Also, do not be afraid to speak up if you are not certain about something, at any point during your work out. Finally, push yourself -- no matter how exhausting it may be, Filipe will be right be your side to encourage you the whole way. It never feels cramped, even at peak times, which is a major advantage. The amenities truly set it apart. The indoor tennis courts are impressive, the basketball courts are full-sized and well maintained, and the swimming facilities--both indoor and outdoor--are extensive and inviting. Add in outdoor pickleball courts, well-kept locker rooms, and relaxing sauna areas, and you start to see how comprehensive the experience is. A standout is Joel at the front desk, who brings a welcoming, professional presence that sets the tone from the moment you walk in. That level of service makes a difference and elevates the overall experience. Overall, Kingsbury Club delivers a well-rounded, high-quality environment that goes well beyond a typical gym--offering something for just about everyone, whether you're there to train, compete, or simply enjoy the space.

I spoke with Chris over the phone in order to register my child, and he told me that the confirmation emails and the email to start the online training portion would be sent directly to my son. I took notes from the phone call: he gave me a date by which I had to cancel, and told me about the pre-participation swim test that had to be passed before participating in the lifeguarding course. Now, the swim test was not just " can you swim a lap in the pool?" No, it was swim 150 yards without touching the sides of the pool with your hands, tread water for 2 minutes without your arms, dive down 7 feet and pick up a brick, return it to the surface, then swim with it 50 yards. So this was not your average swim test, and this info was not communicated in advance. Unfortunately, my son did not pass the test and was unable to participate in the lifeguard course. While he was working trying his best to complete the tasks, he felt like the ADULT IN CHARGE WAS MAKING FUN OF HIM. I don't know if this was Chris or not, but there is no reason that a 15-year-old should be made to feel bad for trying something and not making it. The following day after the swim test, I called the facility and asked for a full refund for the course since my son would not be participating in it, and it was explained to me then that the refund is 50%, because "they can't resell his spot." Now that was unsatisfactory to me because that was not explained in advance, and they claim that that information was sent in an email to my child. This is unacceptable because a 15-year-old cannot be expected to make decisions and judgements regarding a financial commitment that is communicated in an email. I spoke to Chris who was fairly respectful and communicated the policy. He was not able to solve the problem, and I asked to speak with his supervisor. He connected me to Brad. I told Brad the situation, and he proceeded to scoff at me, make fun of my son, question his intelligence, and question my intelligence. It was an extremely negative interaction with no sense of customer service. This whole experience has left a very bad feeling with me. I feel like they stole $200 from me, that they only send the email to the teenager so that they can do this very manipulative practice. Terrible facility.

The General Manager is really nice and helpful any time I have spoken with her. Cons: It's dirty, they only clean twice a week. I have only seen the cleaners (who are very nice and outsourced) while I am working out. Let's just call it a surface clean... A lot of early morning members do not clean anything after they use it which is somewhat disgusting. There is a member who constantly hacks on the machine next to you without covering their mouth with the free provided (nasty) face cloth size towels. He literally hacks out onto the machine (and you). Other members saw my disgust and told me he's been doing this for a long time and if you confront him he will get nasty. This morning the place was a disaster. No clean towels, dirty towels all over the floor and equipment, and wmpty water bottles scattered. I actually wish it were nicer because it is so convenient and I like the staff I've met and people as well. 3 stars was for convenience, the rest is pretty deplorable

I can tell you that THAT WAS A BAD DECISION!! (Don' get me wrong - Grafton AF isn't bad) Now, i don't know what happened back in 2012/13, but those postings are NOT for today's Medway AF! It's possibly one of the cleanest gyms that i've been to, with a great variety of equipment to use... ranging from cardio (treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters & a jacob's ladder, if i'm not mistaken), to machines, to a wide variety of free weight options! Now, it's not a HUGE gym, but for it's size (and it's not tiny), it offers a lot of options for you. And to my surprise, it has an "outdoor gym" - but i've been hitting this gym at 5am, that is only open when there's staff so... makes sense. I'm driving in from CT for my job, so if\when I move to Mass, Medway AF will be my new "home gym"!
