Firewater catered our daughter's wedding. The food was delicious. I can't say enough great things about Karen who worked so hard, was so pleasant and extremely organized. The brisket was delicious and so was the pulled pork. The macaroni and cheese was everything you could want, the salad was great and the potato salad with bacon was a terrific side. I have been there a number of times over the years. I have thoroughly enjoyed the food. I am particularly found of their baked beans and their mac n cheese which has a little bit of kick to it. I will say their customer service is not always the best, some staff are pleasant and others are just down right rude and/or nonchalant. The only other issues is that their ordering doesn't work out so well when ordering from Door Dash. They are disorganized and it takes forever to get your food. We love Firewater. Been eating there probably about 1x month for the past year or so. Always tasty. Prices are really good for high quality BBQ. Sauces are all good. My husband loves the mac & cheese which is more like a cheese sauce on noodles as opposed to baked casserole kind. Brisket is spectacular. We often go with friends and the burgers and pork cheese fries are def favs. Me personally always get their jumbo wings. As for their side selection, their fried sides (pickles!! fries, onion rings, etc.) are awesome. Other sides (cole slaw, salads, etc.) are good but not "knock your socks" off good like the fried sides. Good beer selection too. We've always had good service. Love this place. read more

Usually order the ribs when I go, the ribs are good not too smokey with a hint of cinnamon either in the rub or their sauce, either way its a pretty tasty rib. As for there sides there not to bad but nothing to write home about. For local BBQ places this is about the best I have had around the area. read more

I have gone to this place in the past. The Crest Hill location. It is not the same anymore. The quality of the food has declined. I hate when a place opens and its good and then after they get established they change the quality of their food. WHY? Greed? The ribs tasted greasy and the supposedly 3 cheese Mac & Cheese tasted like cheese out of a can. I think the owner needs to get the passion back and concentrate on making his food good again. So, I had heard about Firewater from a few people I work with. It's a bit out of the way for me, seeing as how I live in Shorewood. However, I was kind of getting a bit bored with driving to either Sharko's or, Baby Back(neither of those two places are bad, just...the closest). So, I hopped in the truck and drove out to Firewater. It wasn't that bad. I got the rib tips and brisket with the mac and cheese as a side. The rib tips were good, not too fatty. The brisket could have been a little thicker. And, the mac was ok. There was some sort of spice kick in the mac that I couldn't place, but it was good. Horrible. The service is horrible. The ribs are dry and full of fat. The sauce bottles on the table are more water than sauce. The cobbler is only brown sugars chunks, no fruit. The manager is extremely rude. This was a first and last experience for my boyfriend and I. He ordered a full slab combo and 8 wings. I ordered 4 wings and 4 rib tips. The baby back ribs were burned. The rib tips were full of fat. When I told the manager of our bad food, he looked at me like I was bothering him. Every food item that was disgusting that I told him of, he argued that he made it himself. When we were ordering he was moving boxes in the back. They have a good selection of sauces you can try out that are on the tables. The employees are friendly and they get the food out to you pretty quick.
