We ordered food from the restaurant and used Door Dash for delivery. After an hour of waiting, the Door Dash delivery person called and said our order had not been started. We told him to cancel it and he added that he's had problems with Firewater Saloon's deliveries in the past. We called the restaurant and the employee said their paper jammed in the order printer so they never got it. This is the second time we've had a problem with a delivery from here. Stopped in after work for a late lunch. Nice comfortable place, the pulled pork egg rolls were great especially the slaw. The servers are friendly and the food came out quickly and was good. Plenty of refreshment on tap and there are happy hour prices. Go in and see these folks. I like this place and will be back. read more

I come here often because my boyfriend plays in a band that plays here a few times a year. Their drinks are always 10/10 delicious. I don't really care for BBQ or southern food but they have a decent variety of tasty items. Portions are huge and the service is usually pretty good as well. I went there on a Monday morning for breakfast with a friend. She goes there all the time , it was my first time. It was a beautiful morning, the widows were all open and it was not busy . They serve breakfast all day I think ? Any way I ordered a make your own omelette with eggs whites. Our server did tell us it had to go back between they forgot the egg whites . I appreciate that. The coffee was very good , any place for breakfast has to have good coffee. My friend tried the tomato eggs Benedict, and said it was delicious. Like most things, I decided to come here because of the Yelp reviews. I came here on a Thursday evening, weather was nice, and they have an outdoor seating area in the front. Our waitress was very attentive and came back several times throughout the night. Inside, the place seemed really hopping, with a live band and many people. I wish I was in there, because the outdoor seating experience sucked. There were people constantly going outside to smoke, which I guess you can argue, that once you're outside, all bets are off. But some places have the courtesy to say not to smoke within a certain amount of feet away from the entrance. This place, not so much. So be prepared to know that the outdoor seating is a good spot if you want secondhand smoke. Also, I live where I live because I'm not a fan of obnoxious city people. Clearly, this side of Chicago is the home of the obnoxious. Besides the smokers, there were numerous bikers who start up their bikes, rev em, and just sit there, smoking some more. Great ambiance. In terms of food, I went with the Yardbird -- a grilled BBQ chicken sandwich with green peppers and mozzarella. I asked the waitress whether it meant the chicken was slathered with BBQ sauce, and she informed me it was just marinated with it. Well, when I got it, it was drenched in it, with diced-up green peppers. I figure, if you need to drown your meat with sauce, you're not doing it right. I would estimate about a 4-oz chicken with a huge bun... not the greatest. The green peppers on the sandwich was "eh". Value of the sandwich was ok -- for $12, you got the sandwich and two sides, which for me, I picked curly fries and veggies. The veggies were cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli. I also got the fruit medley, which the waitress said had pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew, and strawberries. Nope, there were no strawberries. Overall, I can't knock too much on the place, specifically the outside experience. They don't necessarily have control over d-bags who rev up their Harleys and just sit there, nor the random annoying people sitting on the nearby bench complaining and cussing a storm about their life, but they could be better and post a sign for smokers to not basically stand next to people eating... I mean, that would be nice. And the food itself didn't redeem things either. The waitress was very accommodating and really attentive, but her description of the food was not accurate. Food value was good, and I think they have food specials, so yeah, I might go back... but only because I'm a cheap bastard who is willing to be a masochist to save a buck. Charging for a side of Chipotle mayo to go with my dry chicken sandwich? Not good business. Food was tasty, but two pet peeves: no prices on drinks menu. Is that margaritas going to be 10 or 15? Its not unreasonable to want to know. Bun on chickadee sandwich was dry and coleslaw on it was also dry, no vinegar or mayo. Instead of complaining about the coleslaw I asked for mayo. I was charged 50c. I wish young waitresses would realize they are not going to get fired for not charging for sauces, because it could impact their tips when they nickel and dime the customer. Anyway the waitress took it off, because I was annoyed by it. Fried chicken was good, though they forgot the coleslaw. Fries were very good. Tons of fries. Brussel sprouts were good but small serving. Wings also very good. Looks like a great brunch menu and we will probably come back to try that. read more

I was a long time customer of Firewater but no more. Today I went to pick up a family meal dinner for a small party. Pick-up was scheduled at 6:30pm. I walked in at 6:30pm and while there were three employees there I was ignored for 10 minutes before I left without being acknowledged. On top of that, I counted two employees not wearing a mask. I should have left as soon as I saw that. For Mother's Day they were over an hour late for our pick-up order, I was willing to give them a chance even after I heard of similar horror stories about Easter pick-up. Not going back. read more

This is one of the wackiest, hardest to rate places I have been to in a while. Its not that its a 3 star place; its a 2 or 4 star place; you just never know what you're going to get! Food: Sometimes the sandwiches are solid, other times the chicken is rubber on toast. Sides are either good or undercooked. Wings are either spot on or petrified mess. Service: Just like the food, you're either getting served or ignored. Some of the waitstaff appears frazzled waiting just a few tables. Its not Chez Paul (:, shouldn't be that hard to ask/refill drinks and check on meal 1x/2x during a visit. Getting a check should also not involve experience as a grounds crew member at O'Hare. Overall: This place is around the corner from work, so even with a few new places around Edison Park, you end up making a few return visits. As a bar, this might be an OK place to come, but if you're looking for a place to eat, avoid avoid avoid. Everything is extremely greasy even there Walden hamburgers have grease oozing out of them. The servers do the best they can but there's not much you can do about the quality of the food. They need to look at ways to improve and use higher quality meats and products. Use more pressure fruits and vegetables. Everything seems packaged. It's not even typical bar food. I know they make money on liquor, but it doesn't mean you can't have better food. I LOVE the country music. Even when there isn't live music, they play county radio stations. The food is pretty good. Unfortunately the service is not the greatest. Every time I come here, there seems to be an issue with the servers. They do sometimes have a lot of tables to cover, but the service is always very slow. It's great for when my friends and I are hanging out on a Saturday and in no hurry to go anywhere, but it's quiet frustrating when we are in a hurry and waiting so long for something like the check. We live in the neighborhood and have always enjoyed stopping in to meet friends, have a cocktail, and enjoy the menu options. They have an eclectic menu with something for everyone. The atmosphere in Firewater is upbeat and lively while keeping a neighborhood vibe. There is a huge bar to saddle up to and plenty of seating available. We enjoy the live music with country and rock themes. We truly like the Firewater Saloon and intend on continuing to darken their doors. We were just there on a Saturday afternoon with the place just about half full. There was plenty of wait staff on hand, but the service was unusually slow. We saw a couple staff members running around working, with a handful of others, just sitting around. This is the first time that we have had this experience and hope that it improves. read more

We had scheduled and prepaid for the mother's day family brunch to be delivered at 10:30. By 11:30 our food had yet to arrive. I drove to the restaurant and was informed by the server that our food was just sitting there waiting to be delivered. Needless to say the food was ice cold and needed to be reheated. Upon reheating the food was very mushy and dry. The same thing happened to us on Easter (food never delivered). Firewater does great work for the community and I know these are very trying times for everyone. Given this they deserved another chance, plus I was assured this would not happen again as they had learned from their mistakes. This however was obviously not the case. I visited this place earlier this afternoon for the first time. Free parking lot for customers which was great. We ordered a variety of cocktails and they were all great ! One of the drinks we ordered was called Rabbit Punch and it included a cute little Korbel Champagne bottle. Prices on food and drinks are fairly reasonably. We ordered Chicken N' Biscuits and it was delicious !!! I did not get our waitresses name but she was lovely.
