Today was my first visit to the office. I scheduled a dental cleaning, and wanted to get an estimate for an orthodontic treatment. I left more than pleased with the level of service from Dr. Tran and his staff. Ashlee, the dental hygienist, did a GREAT job! She's very funny and a joy to talk to. Most places rush through a routine cleaning and leave your teeth gritty from the paste they use, but not Ashlee! She made sure to get all the gunk out and rinsed thoroughly. What really stood out to me and will keep me coming back is that Dr. Tran and his staff talk to you like a real person, not someone in a lower status to them. We had real conversations, and they genuinely care about my concerns and end product. Dr. Tran talks to you while assessing your teeth, letting you know his concern areas as they arise. I never felt like a project or third wheel, which is what I feel like at most other places. Definitely would recommend to anyone! Also, they have days where their office hours are friendly to those who usually work from 9-5! I hate it when I am unable to contact the office or go in for an appointment due to my work schedule. read more

They're good enough and nice enough. 5/5 stars! Everything else is subjective: I really appreciated the experience going here from a personal standpoint. The way I was asked conversational questions felt insincere as if it were simply routine to keep appearances that they actually wanted to listen. They also interrupted me while I tried speaking and their tone of voice felt condescending when I tried asking questions. This has unfortunately been a common trend since moving out to Dallas from the Midwest. Maybe some people do well here with these types of interactions, however this experience was the wake up call I needed to realize that I do not belong here and that moving to Dallas was a mistake. When they asked me if I wanted to schedule my next appointment in 6 months, I finally knew in my heart that I cannot withstand another half a year of interactions such as this and I hope to move away by that point in time. Having that mental clarity from my experience here was invaluable and hence why I felt compelled to leave a review. I do hope this practice does well in the future as I have nothing personal against them and I would indeed reschedule if it was located somewhere more compatible for myself, since they are good enough for what I needed. Maybe this review will be helpful for someone looking to move to Dallas who might be basing their decision on Yelp reviews of a Dentistry. I've been going here for several years, from cleanings to having to have a full crown being put in, because I lost my front tooth during a seizure. I am anxious about the dentist, and Dr. Tran and his staff at Firewheel Smiles helps to ease that tremendously. He always explains what he will be doing and is very calm and nice while he is working on my teeth, which makes me calm. Had a bad experience with this place and I wanted to make sure that people were aware. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. This is the second time that I've made an appointment with this facility for myself and my daughter so that we could be seen at the same time. This is the second time that they failed to see us both at the same time as I had requested . This time however I really needed to be somewhere else. They saw me at 9 and saw my daughter at 9:30. I made an appointment for us both to be seen at 9 a.m. so that we can be on the road shortly after. When I expressed that I had an appointment for both of us at 9 a.m. and I expected for us to both be seen at 9 a.m. or shortly thereafter they proceeded to argue with me about how I would have been there for an hour anyway. I don't believe that was good customer service and I left feeling annoyed on the account of them starting on my daughter late and for the bad customer service experience. The lady kept trying to talk to me about it even though I told her it was fine. Today was a terrible experience. They really need to work on getting their scheduling in order. read more

This is a fantastic dentist office - Dr. Tran is wonderful. My teenage sons go there, so when one of my back fillings cracked I went to him today (they got me in immediately). They don't try to upcharge or insist on immediate procedures; he gave me two options after filing off a sharp edge on the back tooth, and I was on my way. Their staff is very helpful, and the office is clean and very convenient for Garland/Richardson/Plano residents...it's not in a crowded strip mall environment. I would highly recommend Dr. Tran, and plan to continue visiting Firewheel Smiles for all my future dental needs. read more

I have always liked the staff and Dr. Tran! I have been going to them for a few years. However, my last encounter with them on 5/16/2016 was HORRIBLE! I feel as though I shouldn't have even paid because they did nothing of importance. Upon arrival I was greeted as though I wasn't welcome by the front desk staff. I signed in and then was brought back shortly after. Fatima was the assistant who was supposed to clean my teeth but did a careless job. The water tip was NEVER used for my yearly cleaning. The air tip was left in my mouth far too long and she acted as though she forgot that it was left there. I feel as though my teeth weren't cleaned properly as they should be, as they have been in the past. Also, I'm assuming she forgot there was a tv screen in front of me that I could see that showed me what they were looking at on their computer screen. Saw an X-ray of my teeth twice for not even 5 seconds and more of their schedule and of her going back and forth from day to day repeatedly. After about 5 minutes of schedule checking she flips back to my X-ray and says, "Ok, looks like everything is fine!" When I know it isn't because I told her of back teeth pain. I thought I could inform Dr. Tran of the cheap job she did and he would take care of it and make me feel like my tooth pain problems would be solved. I was wrong. He walked in, made small talk as usual, leaned my chair back, stuck his mirror in my mouth and knowing about my tooth pain said, "Ok, everything looks great!" Before he rushed off I had to stop him and say something about another problem I had. Then he had Fatima write it in my notes and said we would address the problem another time. That was the end of my visit. I'm not done...then, I was at the front desk trying to pay and Ms. Fatima was busy texting and fiddling around on her phone. It took me about 5 mins to give them $7. Horrible experience. I'm very upset that Dr. Tran has changed this way. I felt like I was not welcome and was not taken good care of whatsoever. Despite my long review, my visit was extremely quick. I will be looking elsewhere. read more
