I have been coming to this dental clinic for years now, and the staff has always been amazing (some have left and new ones come aboard) from the front desk staff to the back dental professionals that cleans my teeth. Heather & Marisol (front desk staff) , always makes feel welcome, and explains to me in pleasant way for any billing questions I may have. My dental hygienist Midia is new here but she has very gentle hands. Dr Rae (woman) is very nice, smile i her voice, she saw me today for my dental exam and explained to me why I need crowns on 2 of my teeth. They are also honest people that lets me know if I have a credit on my account, like the insurance overpaid them For these reason, I definitely give them 10Stars! read more

Dr. Schrader can do very nice work but beware. It might take you three months (and counting) (and try SEVEN TRIPS to still not get permanent crown...wt???) All just to go from old crown to new permanent crown...yet they advertise how fast their new CIRC crowns are..all in a day??? NOTTT!!! No unusual circumstances, it's just one plain old crown...and one after the other call to cancel, reschedule etc etc etc etc..., "made the wrong color" (X 4-5) , made crown for the "wrong tooth" (yes), temporary has fallen out THREE or more times (try going DAYS missing a front tooth (the one time masks are a plus)..temporary fell out the next day this last time and office "can't get me in"..closing at two pm for STAFF MEETING??!! REALLLLY???? UGHH". Office staff mostly rude. Oh and you better belieeeeve im getting a bill REGULARLY. Do you pay for a car four months in advance? Don't think so. read more

My worst dentist experience ever! Sooo PAINFUL! I had a crown job done its been 3 weeks I still can't stand without taking 3 ibuprofen every 8 hours. I went back there and they said they need to do root canal on the tooth that they recently put a new crown! They will drill thru it and do a root canal than patch it back! Why didn't you do the root canal first? and their specialist comes to their office once or twice a month. So they told me to take 3 ibuprofen every 8 hours! until April 20 which is almost 4 weeks of severe pain! NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE! Unexperienced dentists. PAIN PAIN PAIN PAIN!!! I had one of the worst experience I had in my life ever this is not a dental clinic providing services to patient. This is a super market, trying to sell as maximum as possible even if it hurts the customer. I went there with a teeth decay that needs cleaning and filling before the decay touch's the nerve, they wanted to sell me a crown which is not needed simply because my original teeth would always be much better than a crown. when I asked them just to clean and fill it they refused to provide service and said that they don't have time to do that. I definitely do not recommend anybody to lose time going there, they will try to get from you as maximum money as possible even if it's against your health. read more

Do not walk away..... Run. I was just there and found out it would be $3000 to replace a bridge that THEY made and put on just two years ago. It was not even outsourced, it was a cerec and made in office. I was told when I got it that it came with a six year warranty but they now deny that a warranty ever existed. I've been to this office exactly one time since it changed owners. The staff do not appear to know what they are doing. A young kid fresh out of dental school "cleaned" my teeth but he didn't provide any of the services normally associated with a cleaning. He poked around a bit and then announced he was finished. He didn't scrape the tartar, shine or floss them. I tried to explain that the cleaning was not done to my satisfaction but the front staff just stared blankly at me. Awful, Awful, Awful Experience! I visited Firewheel for a routine cleaning and orthodontic care. The doctors and hygienist are cool. The building felt very small and cramped. The X-ray process was the most painful process ever. I highly suggest that they update their X-ray equipment. The technician could not even get proper scans of my teeth because the tool was so heavy and kept sliding down. The cleaning did not include brushing of teeth which was odd; my teeth do feel clean! I would advise against going to this practice for orthodontic care. This practice only has one ortho doctor who is there once a week. They cram too many patients. The office manager, Daniel is extremely unprofessional! I would recommend going elsewhere. read more

This practice is quick to take your money but good luck getting an appointment. My daughter has went for FIVE (5) months without an appointment. It's not for lack of trying. She is supposedly on the VIP waiting list. Meanwhile, you can't get a human on the phone. If you do, they are so unprofessional, they hang up on you. Root canal is DONE! I have never been so happy or excited to go to the dentist as I was this morning, the pain has been constant and relentless for over a week now and I was ready to get it handled! It was my first procedure done at Firewheel Modern Dentistry in Garland and it was the best experience. Yesterday, I saw a dentist to ensure it was a root canal I needed and take x-rays since I hadn't ever been to this office. From the front desk, to the assistant, to the dentist, everyone was amazing. I felt at ease and asked all the questions I needed and wanted to ask. Today, the endodontist (new word I learned and am loving using) was absolutely incredible...kind and knowledgeable. Her assistant was amazing too. So many wonderful employees. I called the office on Tuesday after I was seen in Sulphur Springs at my normal dentist and Lauren was wonderful (obvi she is, she's a Lauren ). She talked me through payment options and gave me a quote which is exactly what my total came to today! This is the best dental experience I've ever had (at 38 years old) and I couldn't be happier with the entire process! Grateful to have found Firewheel Modern Dentistry, a place with amazing staff and exceptional service. read more

Bait and switch - Complete rip off! Wasted my time. Wasted my visit and I took the day off to receive services - so made me lose income on top of their unethical practice. I have dental insurance and had already received a quote from one dental office but decided against doing my dental work there because they did not offer nitrous. Went here with full expectancy of completing the work on this day only for my quote to be 4 times the amount quoted from the prior dentist. I called my insurance company and they confirmed what I was supposed to pay - however Firewheel will add unrequested upgrades to the treatment plans without providing options. Complete and total bait and switch. I refused the treatment plan and let them know the cost was way more than what was guaranteed through my insurance - there was a lot of fluff talk - I told them I didn't want the upgrades and they pulled more excess fees out of their imagination and still wanting to charge me 100% more than my plan allotted. Don't waste your time - find a reputable dentist that's not gonna rip you off and waste your time and insurance benefit. read more

Firewheel Modern Dentistry is the best experience I've ever had at a dentist's office! After moving to Dallas and having a bad experience elsewhere, I am so glad I found this office and will only go here. I have been a patient here for almost 3 years. I have cleanings with Liz and Michelle who are both fabulous hygienists. During my last cleaning, a tiny cavity was noticed on top of one of my molars. Liz took a picture of it and I was able to see it on the TV screen. Dr. Schraeder took X-rays and suggested a small composite filling. On a different tooth, I have a filling from my childhood dentist that had started to break down. Dr. Schraeder had told me about it a year or two ago. At the time, he said that eventually it would need to be replaced and gave me the option to do it then or wait and fix it when needed. I decided to wait and watch it. It was nice to not feel pressured into doing anything that wasn't immediately necessary. Since I was about to be numbed for this small filling I decided that now was a good time to replace the other old filling. The assistant numbed my gum and I didn't feel the needle when receiving the anesthesia. The small cavity was filled in about 3 minutes. For the replacement filling, I had the option to use the same material I had or go with an upgraded custom porcelain filling that is more durable and would last longer. Dr. Schraeder explained the different options and I decided to go with the upgrade, seeing as the cheaper option was why I was having issues to begin with. After it was placed in the tooth, Dr. Schraeder made a few small adjustments until I told him my bite was comfortable. The next day I had no pain or sensitivity! Also, the last time I was there he fixed some staining on my front teeth that had always bothered me. I was always told my whole life that nothing could be done and he made them disappear! Both Dr. Steiger and Dr. Victoria are amazing. The office staff is kind and helpful. I felt like everyone genuinely cared about me. The root canal procedure (Dr. Victoria) went off without any issues and my tooth was feeling better by the next morning. I also had build up and prep for two teeth with temp crowns (Dr. Steiger) that fit perfectly on the first try thanks to Dani. Also - one week and my new crown will be ready for me! I have a lot of panic around dental visits and this is the first office in many years where I am looking forward to going back. Highly recommend them! read more

Surgeon did not listen and did not take care expected. Have to go to different doctor after having whole Saturday morning wasted. I came in for a teeth cleaning in Dec 2021 and paid for services before I left the office. I have my receipt. I have since received 3 bills from them and now in collections. I have tried to reach out for the 4th time now. They leave you on hold, pass you around and finally tell you they are a temp employee and to call back tomorrow. This is fraud! At my appointment, I felt very welcomed & the check in process was easy. Dr. Schraeder explained everything really well & I didn't feel pressured into any of the recommendations given. This review is for Liz, one of the dental hygienists. Having relocated from California, I was lucky enough to find Liz at Firewheel Modern Dentistry. Finding personal services in a new city can be a challenge! Liz is the best! I've seen her 3 times for cleanings - she's personable, very thorough with the cleaning and explains everything she's about to do. She even offers me a blanket to keep warm in the cool room. I also just recently had my teeth whitened for my wedding. Liz checked on me after it was done; she was excited to see the results! She noticed I had some sensitivity and recommended using Sensodyne. The next day I was so surprised to receive a call from Liz! She called to check up on me, concerned about how I was doing with the sensitivity after the whitening session, and wish me the best on my wedding! Liz really went above and beyond!! Dr. Tran (pediatric dentist) and the staff are absolutely amazing. She saw both of my daughters (4yr old and almost 2 yr old). My 4 yr old did great, the dental hygienist did a great job explaining everything to her which made my daughter feel at ease. My 2 year old wasn't as cooperative but I loved that Dr. Tran did not push her too much, she did the exam while making sure my daughter did not have a "traumatic experience". Dr. Train is very knowledgable, upbeat and thorough. And a big plus, I was in and out of the office in less than an hour. My daughter loved it, they received a balloon as well as a free gift from the treasure box. We have definitely found our place!! read more

Pros: The facility is nice and clean. They had a little play area for younger kids. I recently moved over to this area and saw this place in passing. I called in to place an appointment and this place had availability for the next day. This was an appointment for my son who just turned two. Cons: I gave them all of my information over the phone and they advised I would receive an email with additional forms to complete prior to my visit. Email didn't come. I found out that they misspelled my name/email address after I repeated it back so that is why I never received my email. On the check-in iPad, I also noticed my son's name first name was spelled incorrectly. I arrived 15-20 minutes before the start of my son's appointment and wasn't seen until 30 minutes after my appointment was suppose to start. 50 minutes in a lobby with a toddler = no bueno. After we were called back, the technician spent about one minute looking at his teeth and giving it a quick brush. The doctor came in, I couldn't tell you her name as she didn't introduce herself, spent two minutes brushing teeth, asked a few questions and was gone. I felt like we were just a number and not a customer at this place. Didn't take the time to make sure our needs were addressed. Can get much better service elsewhere. read more

I was scheduled for a routine dental cleaning at 7:30 a.m. I arrived to my appointment around 7:20 a.m and no one was there. I called the number on the door and got a customer service representative who attempted to contact the office manager with no response. I informed him that I was having car trouble and had to take a Lyft to and from and inquired about reimbursement since it was almost 8 (someone opened the door at 7:47) and no one was still at the office. He offered/suggested if I could wait until 8 and I instructed that my appointment was scheduled at 7:30 so that I could be at work at time. I was informed to speak with the office manager Rachel. When I spoke with Rachel I was informed that I would not be reimbursed even though the scheduling issue was their mishap. I was instructed that they tried to call me on Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday in which I informed that I never received a call. Rachel informed me of the number that they called again another mishap on their end as it was the incorrect number! My contact info was incorrect and when I inquired why didn't someone email me about the scheduling mishap since my appt was sent and confirmed by email I was informed about a previous email sent about the office hour change. No accountability was taken in this situation! When I asked for Rachel's boss I was informed "well it didn't seem like you wanted to talk to me" or I "am the operations manager" as responses. I am highly unsatisfied with the service I received and how I was treated today! read more

I called their main number to schedule a first appt. and no one picked up. They had an option to have someone call back. The call back number showed on my caller ID as a California number, so I let it go to voicemail. They left a VM with ANOTHER number to call to schedule. Whoever picked up was very rude. I asked if they took my insurance and she says "did you sign yourself over?" Huh? I have no idea what that meant.She vaguely explained it then put me on hold for over 10 minutes. Another person picked up finally. I asked for a manager Suzanne, but she said she was with another patient and I would have to wait a long time. I just said forget it. If it is this hard to make an initial appt I can only imagine any really involved situations would be like. Yikes! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I'm reporting this business to the BBB. They told me I have periodontal disease and must have a deep cleaning. They accepted my insurance on the first visit and just left me waiting for 2 hours plus, after x-rays. Ending up doing nothing else just trying to book me for a "required" deep cleaning and trying to charge me $877 for it. Knowing I've always taken care of my teeth I got a second opinion from Dr. Denise Mcgrade in Plano. She said my teeth looked great and they just gave me a simple cleaning at no cost to me. Do not go to Modern Dentistry, they aren't Modern at all they'll just try to scam you for every dollar you're worth, I don't understand how people like this sleep at night. We moved and went to a different dentist in our new town and found out I DID NOT need a deep cleaning . My husband is in constant pain and we are now trying to figure out why he hurts all the time. I recently visited Dr. Shraeder and staff at Firewheel Modern Dentistry with the intention being to investigate having some major restoration work done. I had significant work done at a dental office in Dallas in 2009 and 2010, involving fitting of two removable bridges but additional deterioration of several teeth required that I seek additional remediation. I had planned on this recent visit to have an examination and obtain a plan of action to be implemented later but Dr. Shraeder was most accommodating and, after the necessary diagnostic tests, discussion and recommendations were completed, a restoration plan was agreed on and Dr. Schraeder arranged to begin the process immediately. I have another appointment scheduled with another to follow and I will be smiling once again. I have no doubt that I made the proper choice to call Firewheel Modern Dentistry. I'm certain that Dr. Schraeder's entire staff went above and beyond what was customary and necessary to ensure that my visit was comfortable and successful. read more
