This was cleaned day AFTER their $850 cleaning

This is not a reputable company. It's a total scam. I found them due to great reviews but it looks like most reviews are several years old and this company changed . I called them when my basement toilet had water on the floor. Unfortunately these guys were available sooner and I went with them. Turns out they send some subcontractors/ some guys to your home having no idea who they are. They sent to me a 20 y old guy having no proper equipment or expertise. He had no idea what he was doing . He charged $850 for rooting the main drain only(usually $200-$350). And the total bill was well over 1000. He didn't even have camera. When I called them they said they were sending "a crew with camera" but this guy didn't have it. And he was alone and inexperienced . I had to hire another company next day because this dude made the problem worse and toilet began to backing out all sewage from the house after he left! He tried to clear a clog going through a toilet and making 4 turns while another company said he should have accessed it from another drain pipe that was accessible right there . The other company (Mudden Sewer) changed $350 for rooting main drain again WITH CAMERA and diagnosed all my drainage WITH CAMERAS. They also properly cleaned a lot more debris and managed to stop my downstairs toilet from backing up right away. Mudden specialist said : "never heard of this company" and "He didn't know what he was doing, maybe that's their "first year" in Chicago?" Update: the company tried to contact me on YELP to disclose my identity to them so they can continue to harass me. I already told them the day after their service that I wasted over $1000 paying them and that all the work was redone by a reputable company. They offered no refunds. Now these Alina contacts me asking questions to be able to find out "invoice number" to locate where I live .. No thanks. You didn't offer a refund and I don't want your services again.

Just finished my appointment with First Chicago Plumbing, and after the disasters I have been dealing with from other contractors I've used, I felt compelled to leave this review on a business that does things right. Eugene was quick to respond and very professional over email. Scheduling an appointment was easy and they were able to make it out the same week. Jorge and Sergio (I believe that was his name) were the ones on site. They were nice and explained everything to me. There was some work that was up in the air on whether it needed to be done, and ultimately they were able to get the job done without the additional work. The biggest part of my work was correcting a disposal hook up my contractor horribly botched during my kitchen renovation. They were able to correct everything and hook it up correctly. It looks SO much better (see before and after pictures attached). Everything was cleaned up and then tested in front of me to make sure it worked. I thought the price was fair and very close to the quote I received. It's the city, so if you want good work you can't cheap out (as I've learned the hard way). Ultimately I was just happy to have actual licensed professionals who knew what they were doing. I'll definitely use these guys again and keep them on my speed-dial for any future plumbing needs!

Our building is very old (over 125 yrs) and my aunt was having issues with a leaky faucet in her bathroom. I found First Chicago Plumbing's reviews convincing to give them a call to help with this situation. I spoke with Eugene and he asked for a photo to see the style faucet so he could make sure he had the proper parts when he came to see the job. The next day he was there with the correct parts in hand and had the job done in no time. He was very kind and courteous and the prices cannot be beat. If you have any plumbing related problems these guys are a definite YES when it comes to reliability and professionalism. I highly recommend them! read more

My ceiling started to sport a fancy little drip of water which turned in to a steady stream which turned in to my ceiling partially caving in. I had a pinpoint leak in a pipe from my upstairs neighbors air conditioner which just went bonkers. From a recommendation, I contacted First Chicago Plumbing and was amazed from start to finish. They came out and assessed the situation, educated me on what it was and within a day were out fixing and replacing the pipe. They were educational, prompt and very reasonable with prices. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for any plumbing needs! read more

In late May First Chicago Plumbing replaced the faucets in two bathrooms and the kitchen and also replaced the diverter in the bathtub. Eugene and the gentleman with him (I don't recall his name) were very professional and very nice. Eugene took the time to explain everything to me and answered any questions I had, even after the job was completed. Eugene even checked on our hot water heater and gave us an estimate to replace it when the time comes (which will likely be in the next few months!) He will definitely be the person I call!! Highly recommended! These guys are a lifesaver and offer a great experience. Our original "contractor" made a mess of our shower waste drain to the point that water wouldn't drain after taking a shower. I reached out to First Chicago Plumbing for help and they responded quickly, gave me a very fair bid and performed the work quickly and pleasantly. I now have an awesome shower that drains! Saved the day! I know it's Chicago and naturally there's more in the industry but still. For a fast on demand fix that's done professionally and without judgment, A+ 100% 6 STARS! Customer service recurrently first to respond and communicate with me via easiest method email phone text etc. Billing was a snap! Fast secure and safe via check or Chase Quick Pay with Visa or Mastercard (wouldn't accept Amex no complaints here as most in the industry charge the consumer a 3 pct swipe fee or offer cash discount, no haggling here. Sure I could have attempted to fix this broken toilet myself but when you are entertaining there's no time for discrepancies. Eugene and Atanas are the two most courteous I've met. Believe me even I would have pause over this small job due to odd birthday costumes etc. Lol. I suggest they offer a area for later follow up review with gratuity. Granted this job wasn't huge but I do firmly believe in gratuity if a jobs done above and beyond expectations and earlier than promised! I literally pulled up when they arrived on time they were done an hour earlier! That's critical to me having dealt with runaround etc. Again, if you want diy or cheap then go do it. If you want a firm solid number that doesn't have surprises, this is IT! THEY SAVED THE DAY! read more

I was very impressed with the fast response time and honest opinion of First Chicago Plumbing. I am currently selling a property and the buyer asked to have the rusted gas pipe to the grill outside replaced per the inspection. I contacted First Chicago Plumbing for an estimate and they got back to me within an hour to schedule an appointment that afternoon! Unlike some other companies I contacted, they did not charge to come out and look at the issue to provide an estimate which I appreciated. Upon looking at the pipe, our plumber, Eugene, stated that the rust was purely cosmetic and was not impacting the functionality (no gas leaks or weak spots); it was just normal for a pipe being outside. He recommended leaving it alone because the new pipe would rust in a year again anyway and there was nothing wrong with it. I asked for a write up of his recommendation that I could provide to the buyer and he promptly got it to me the same day. While I did not have any work done, I will definitely contact them in the future for any plumbing needs as I appreciated their honesty and was more than happy with the estimate they provided if, in fact, the pipe were to be replaced. read more

They called to let me know when they would arrive, they were neat and professional, provide helpful recommendations for avoiding future service issues, they unclogged the drain thoroughly at the price quoted the previous day and then installed a new utility sink for me for a very reasonable price - this was outside of the original service request, but they went the extra mile to help me. I have no hesitation in recommending and/or calling them for service again. read more

AP Construction is a great small business to support. They not only were incredibly flexible and willing to work around the crazy schedule of all the other contractors I had in my condo for my rehab overhaul, but they were communicative throughout the entire process and checked in with me several days after they had made repair work to my kitchen sink. We hired AP Construction for a faucet repair and they were right on time and they completed the work much quicker than I expected. They even let us know of a few other minor fixes they made, and confirmed that there was no leaking or water damage where our replacement faucet was installed. The service team was able to fit me in same day by putting me on standby. Nick was able to diagnose, stop the leak, inspect that the leak had done no further damage, and ultimately get the water heater working within 5 minutes of his arrival. Better yet, he said it was a simple fix and did not charge me, but just asked that I keep them at the top of my list for my next job! Very friendly and presentable all the way. He also assessed my heater and said I probably had about another two years to go before needing to replace, and gave me a written quote for a new water heater and to replace the saddle valve with an angle stop. The angle stop cost was a bit high, but the water heater replacement was very reasonable (just being fair). I am definitely going to reach out to them for my next plumbing job.

They…read morefound multiple issues and said the equipment was too old and they needed to replace both of them. They quoted us $5k and some additional cost to check the HVAC while they were there. The HVAC check seemed like everything was fine, but they used it as a sales op to try and sell me new furnace and humidifier, which was working fine at the time (and continues to function 4 years later). Thankfully their 1-year VIP service was the most valuable part of it, because one of the joins for the new water heaters started leaking again almost 12 months later. However, when they came out, they couldn't get the water main to close in our unit, so they quoted me to replace it as an additional cost instead. We said no, and gradually loosened the water main valve to the point where we could get it to close. We believe it was debris from the water main for the building being shut off multiple times for other work recently. Once we resolved that issue, we were able to get them to actually repair their failing original work at no cost. Not sure I would recommend.

If needing something like that and you aren't planning on using it again after that then this is where to go. The store can be hard to find things but the staff is friendly and helpful. For a locally owned hardware store it has pretty good finds. It's located at the intersection in the name of course so that helps a lot. Original review: I messaged Drain-EEZ Plumbing about my broken disposal on a Sunday morning, hoping they could provide a quote for the fix. He gave me a quote on the disposal replacement and a separate quote on another part of the sink that needed replacement to which I agreed. The quotes were reasonable, maybe even cheap. He didn't need to see the project in person to give the quote, which is really convenient. Noel came on time, kept me apprised on what he was doing, did his work, cleaned up, left some helpful tips and finished earlier than estimated. I would highly recommend Noel and would request his services again.

These guys run an awesome, no-nonsense business. They call or text you back quickly after you call them, they tell you when they can be there, and they fix it. Every time. I found Eugene a few years ago and have never bothered calling anyone else. When temperatures dropped to -40 in early February 2019, we had major water leaks from pipe bursts. I called Eugene, texted him a video of the leak, and he was there within 20 minutes and stopped the leak, identified the problem, and fixed it. Then, this spring, after Chicagoland got an unprecedented amount of rain, we had standing water coming in from outside due to a blocked outside drain. He diagnosed it, gave me an honest timeframe and quote, and he fixed it. No more burst pipes, and no more overflowing drainage pipes. Oh, not to mention all the little things like sink/faucet/toilet installs and repairs that they knock out with ease. Do yourself a favor and call these guys. You're gonna be so glad you did and you'll never have to hunt around for a plumber again. read more

We had been planning and collecting proposals on major plumbing work in our two-flat for months, and hiring Eugene and his team was the best decision we could have made. They replaced all the steel horizontal pipes, some verticals, and all plumbing in one bathroom with copper; replaced and rerouted a bathtub drain pipe; piped two kitchens for dishwashers; added outdoor spigots, and more. Eugene spent a long time exploring the job and explaining everything to us beforehand, really showing his expertise. Their bid came in lower than most (and MUCH lower than some), and the quality of their work is top-notch. On the project days, they were super prompt, efficient, and respectful of our space. After some horrible experiences with contractors in the past, this was such a breath of fresh air. We will definitely use them for plumbing for as we live in Chicago! read more

tanas and his son Evgeni do excellent work. The job was to do complete rough-in of a 3 floor house, 19 water fixtures, full-interior drain, and 7 gas connections, as a reasonable price. All new lines in a 130-year old house. They worked 2 weeks straight, worked very cleanly, always put in more than full-days of work. They brought the material using my card, returned material not use, and were 100% honest. The plumbing inspector loved their work. The easiest and the most pleasant contract I have had so far. This outfit is amazing! I used them twice in the last week for some plumbing repairs and the removal of a stacked washer/gas dryer. Very responsive and super easy to schedule.
