Our experience with First Chicago Plumbing was excellent, and we'll be using them for future projects. We were remodeling out bathroom and needed a new tub installed. Eugene quickly responded to my request for a quote and was able to provide his quote using photos and product specs which made the process easier during a pandemic. During demo, we were surprised to find some unexpected pipes in a wall that needed to be moved to fit our new tub. Eugene was responsive and discussed the issue with us over the phone on the weekend which we incredibly appreciated. He and his team came prepared the next day for both the installation and the adjustment of the pipe issue. They got our new tub up to the third floor safely, installed it perfectly, gave us helpful advice and moved the pipes as expected to make our new tub fit. Avoid these guys. Came in to fix my toilets which were running. They replaced 2 flappers and gaskets for $450. This would have been fine if everything worked. But hours later the toilet was still running. He came back and eventually fixed it. But then after 1-2 days a terrible sewer smell came from the toilet. We've never had anything like this. When I asked them to come back for the sewer smell, we made an appointment and then they cancelled on me last minute. So out $450, new problem, and not reliable about appointments. Not a good plumber. Look elsewhere. read more

Have used these guys for a few projects with a couple of my properties. They are quick to follow up and communicate everything clearly via email and invoices, I misinterpreted something that one of workers and I discussed, but it was in fact written clear as day in the invoice, so it was my fault. they are very fair, and wont do unnecessary work if it is not needed. They will also make recommendations, but will not pressure you into getting those things performed. They are on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for! I received a response within 15 mins asking for a picture of the valve that needed to be replaced before i could have the dishwasher installed and 5 minutes later I had a quote that was lower than the other quotes. I had to replace my garbage disposal under the kitchen sink. I called four different companies to get a quote. One company told me they couldn't give quotes over the phone; they would have to come out, but I would have to pay them for coming over even if I decided the quote was too high. The other two companies gave me ridiculously high quotes. When I called First Chicago Plumbing and explained what I needed to get done, they gave me a very reasonable quote and scheduled an appointment three days later. On the day of the appointment, they called an hour before to let me know they were on their way. They got everything done in 20 min. They were very nice and professional. Charges were exactly as quoted, the work was done correctly, and the plumber was able to speak with our home warranty company so the repair could be partially reimbursed. I hired AP Construction to install a brand new full bathroom in my basement. We received several bids from others, but AP Construction was the lowest price and could work around our schedules. The father/son team of Atanas and Eugene were great to work with. They were punctual every morning, coming from the city and arriving in Plainfield by 7:30 am each morning. It only took them 1.5 weeks to complete the full bathroom installation, which included all new piping (underground and above ground), an ejector pit, framing, drywall, and shower installation. I can only say wonderful things about Eugene and George! Our hot water heater started leaking (with nothing to drain it) on Friday night. I messaged Eugene through Yelp around 10pm and he responded an hour later that he could likely help me on Saturday. This was the first time i've used these guys- I found them by Yelp review so I had no way of knowing their work from a personal referral. I was having a hard time getting a plumber to change a bad stem in the bathtub- it's a small job, I know, but I couldn't do it myself. Eugene and his partner came and I realized it was a good thing I called them- I knew my bathtub plumbing was old and hard to find parts for but they managed in a Mc Gyver way to replace the stem, and it works. Plus these guys were very friendly- they met me at the door with a handshake and a smile. They were polite, and very, very informative.
