Food is usually pretty good! I don't like the deserts much. But if you are looking for a decent buffet with options it's a good pick!

The customer service is always bad. The lady (waitress) is very very rude, and bossy to us and others.

Boy I've been going to buffets a lot lately, but this was a 7 year old great niece's choice for her birthday. Lots more choices on the sushi buffet than just California roll and "krab". Just left this restaurant completely disappointed with the service and taste of the food. We asked to speak to the manager to inform him of an employee( server) who used the ladies washroom and left the washroom WITHOUT washing her hands ( nasty)... instead of apologizing and saying he would look into it ... he said well I asked them and none of them used the washroom so.... after going around in circles with the worst customer service ever, I proceeded to tell this manager that he wasn't a good manager at all and his response was "so?". Don't go here please. They have had issues in the past with the Health inspectors, their food isn't great and the manager sucks and does not care about how he treats his paying clients ! read more

My son and I had to go across the bridge for an appointment at 11am this morning (blood tests, fasting!). We had a few minutes to kill before going in, and decided to check Yelp to find a restaurant for lunch afterwards. I found First Choice Buffet was very close by. My son turned around, and said, "Mom, it's right behind us!" We had to suffer with our hunger pains for the next 20" to get our tests, and then headed next door to chow down! This was the best Chinese buffet I've had in quite a while. I'm not going into details, because I honestly couldn't even tell you the names of half the stuff I ate, but it was all fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean, and the staff kept our drinks filled. I highly recommend that if you have to go to Quest Diagnostics for a fasting blood test, time it for lunchtime. This is a great way to break the fast! One suggestion for the business owners: Consider updating the outside of the restaurant. I honestly thought it was no longer in business until someone opened the door. read more

The food was undercooked doesn't taste like Chinese food taste old like they use cheap products they put a lot of flour into their fried foods more flower than protein the meats for example red meat has no flavor the service is bad I asked for a knife and they told me that it is at the front instead of bringing it to the customer. For a buffet the choices were limited. It is a small restaurant but if you are looking for a small cozy place it will be great. For me the food did not taste that great. I have had way better tasting Chinese food. read more

We go at least once a month and we are never disappointed! The sushi is amazing and I always get the Tuna nigiri and the Salmon nigiri! The price is good because you can get whatever you want until your full! Usually sushi is expensive but here you can get it all if you want! Their ice cream is good, and the sweet tea is as well! The service is fast, employees are very nice, and the place has a good feel to it! Overall it was just decent; staff wore masks but didn't enforce any customers to besides using hand sanitizer or wear gloves (provided) to pick up the food. Restaurant itself was clean but the biggest con has to be how small the food selection is. Lo mein and fried rice were not good but the sushi was basic and okay. They just had very basic chinese buffet food so nothing new or original. Staff was attentive though and went around collecting plates often. read more

Hum... I'm a bit mixed on this review. Food quality is on par with other local buffets and even a bit better, they lack a bit in overall selection being that it's a smaller place. The quality of food was actually quite nice especially considering that we ate late on a Thursday night and the place wasn't busy at all. They refilled food that was running low so we didn't have to ask or eat something that looked like it was out for a while. They refilled drinks and took plates in a timely manner. I would definitely go back but I can't give it 5 stars being that the food wasn't as nice as an entree order Chinese place but it wasn't bad either. read more

By far the worst Chinese buffet I've ever been to. The food is luke warm, soggy, slimy and tasteless. The seaweed salad is noodles dyed green and a few pieces of seaweed. We ate here about 6:30-7:00 in the evening on a Saturday, hoping to hit the freshest assortment at peak dining hours. The staff and general arrangement of the place is nice. Unfortunately I found almost nothing I tried to be very fresh or enjoyable. My husband liked it because they served all-you-can-eat prime rib. Personally I don't think I would return. This is my first review ever in Yelp, and because of the amazing service I received near closing time, I rate this a 5star! My family and I were in Destin, FL on a mini vacation, and because we waited a little late for dinner, most of the buffets were closed or nearly closing. We wanted to go somewhere where we could get full and where pricing wasn't crazy. We got here, the place looked sanitized well, and service was great! Because it was nearly closing time, the food was low. However, a guy that worked there (and I believe he was the owner) offered to cook our food fresh if we didn't see it available. I asked for some white noodles, and he delivered! I also asked for some more sushi because they wasn't any left, guess what? They made it! Will definitely come back when I'm in town! The only down size to this is their selection. For those of you wanting a bigger size selection, you may want to look somewhere else. Other than that, everything was great! read more

This place is so amazing the music is soothing the people very nice, polite, attentive, and well dressed. There is a large variety of food from the usual buffet style to the many different kinds of sushi and sushi-mi made fresh the entire time your there. Decent food for the price. Sushi is good for a buffet. My family and I go there often and usually do not have any complaints. Service is usually quick and plates are typically cleared before we return to the table. On a negative note. They have a table right next to were you walk in. When you are with a decent size group they sit you there. if you sit on the wall side people are constantly bumping you as they walk by to be seated. This does not make for a relaxed stay. read more

This place is great! Best Chinese buffet we have ever been to. All the food is delicious and the family that runs this place are some seriously hard working folks. My husband work in a position where he gets to see the kitchens of every okaloosa and walton county restaurant often. Guess what yelpers? Some of your favorites handle their food in disgusting fashion. Just because you didnt get sick doesnt mean you didnt eat things off the floor or someone elses bodily fluids. Yuck. Five stars for the food, one star for the service. Everything I tried from the buffet was excellent and hot. I loved the sesame chicken, coconut chicken, veggies, cream cheese wontons, and the sushi was really good considering I'm not usually a huge fan of sushi. The dessert was also tasty. Best Chinese buffet around here by far. As far as the service goes, I do understand that there's a language barrier. But I don't see how a language barrier keeps us from getting a damn drink refill. We were sitting for around half an hour before she finally came to check on us and get us more drinks. She cleaned off the tables near us a few times, saw our empty glasses and walked off without saying a word. We'll go back for the good food, but we won't tip until the service gets better. My husband and I went there today and we have been many times before but today WOW. We get there and the waitress can't speak English did somehow get our drink order. I ask her if I could get some fresh seafood salad she looked at me and walked off. Next someone she knew came in and they had the most incredible loud conversation for about 30 minutes of course not in english that would have been ok had they lower their voices . Then I ask the cook if I could have some sugar doughnuts and he looks at me and then walks off. Then to top it off I am not sure who it was I think the cashier comes to the table and says I will be back in 5 minutes. Let's be fair with our ratings, please. Don't compare a Chinese buffet to a freaking white-glove steakhouse. This type of restaurant has a specific share of the market, and it should be rated among like restaurants...not rated against places where a 10-ounce steak costs $48 (a la carte'). That being said, this is absolute best Chinese buffett in Okaloosa County. Sushi is very good considering it's a buffet. This is the cleanest of all Chinese buffets I've seen in the Florida panhandle. Most of the shrimp dishes are pretty good. The crab rangoon is fantastic. The green beans are very good. The spicy beef and chicken dishes are excellent, as is the coconut chicken. Soups are excellent. They usually have fresh oysters, and we often try them...and have never had a problem. Unless you have a strong jaw, very sharp teeth, and a pocket full of dental floss I'd suggest you skip the "round of beef." This restaurant is good at Chinese, and pretty fair with Sushi...but they are clueless about how to buy and cook a large beef roast. It's a "fair" quality roast, cooked poorly. The restrooms are very nice, and virtually spotless. The wait staff is a bit "icy," but I attribute much of the "chill" to a language barrier. No need to make extensive comments here. It's very good, very clean, and the service is as good as you'll get in a buffet of this type anywhere in the Florida Panhandle...and yes, I believe I've seen them all. No chinese restaurant from Pensacola to Panama City can match it. End of story. FYI...recently there was a false report posted on Facebook that this restaurant had closed. That report was removed. But if you have heard anything about the restaurant closing, please know that the story was false. First Choice is still open and doing fine. read more

Pros: Sushi Bar - Probably the best quality, cleanest, and greatest selection of sushi I have ever seen (in a buffet). Maki, Nigiri, and Temaki of all kinds were readily available. The sushi chef's were making it right in front of you. I never eat sushi from a Chinese buffet, but this place is definitely the exception to my rule. Cons: The actual buffet is quite small in variety compared to most Chinese buffets. They had quite a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, but that did not make up for the lack of other "main dishes". read more

I think this place has the cleanest, nicest atmosphere out of all the Chinese buffets I've been to. Feels more like a good restaurant than a Chinese buffet. Dark paneling, LCD TVs, booths, a sushi chef station, and a framed ceiling over the buffet tables realistically painted to look like a clear sky with a few clouds here and there all add to the comfortable ambiance. Even so, it's CHEAP. Like $7-cheap for all you can eat really good sushi and Chinese food, which is the only "merely acceptable" aspect about First Choice. What a great place to enjoy some fresh sushi. Not only great sushi, but overall great food for a buffet restaurant. There are three different sections offering the typical fried rice, fried shrimp, and spicy beef and green peppers. The downside to this restaurant is that it seems a little cramped. The seating could be a little better because the tables seem too close to each other. If you can get a booth seat that would be better. A few TVs can be found throughout which gives you something to watch as you dip sushi into your soy sauce. The Spurs were on the night I was there so that was an added bonus! I don't like eating at buffets too often but I could eat here at least once a week to satisfy my Chinese fix. read more

We ate there and when I asked about the bill being so high I was talked to rudely. Manager made a scene while I was trying to be discrete. He leaned over the bar and was in my personal space. After reading the negative reviews of Panda Express we chose to come here. I'm was better than any of the takeout places I have been. The sesame chicken and peanut chicken were awesome (I'm usually a general tso's fan, but it wasn't on the buffet). There was something for everyone, even our super picky child ate 2 plates worth...and not just rice. This buffet was a go! I would totally recommend checking it out if you're feeling like some yummy Chinese. read more

Actually a very good Chinese buffet...just missing a Mongolian grill, but they more than make up for it with the quality of what's available. Gave this place another try today and was not pleased. The slice meat was terribly overcooked , totally gray, tough and hard without flavor. The fried shrimp was tough and the breading soggy like it was cooked long ago and kept in a warming oven. In short, not worth the $27.31 for two. My advise is go somewhere else. Standard to above average Chinese buffet. Not the largest selection. But what is there - is well done. Plenty of shrimp. Plenty of baked seafood.
