Customer Service goes a long way in our book and we feel we have experienced Superior Customer Service with First Choice Marine! We found the prices to be excellent, when researching a few items needed to get the boat ready for Spring splash. I'm obnoxiously thrifty and after loading up my online cart at 4 different retailers, item for item, First Choice was best price. Now, the customer service part: we did have to contact them several days after placing our order, as our order wasn't marked as shipped. Very quick, pleasant reply stating that 1 item was out of stock and order would ship when it was available. We asked that they ship the rest of order, which they obliged. Order was received 2 days later...In full! One item was black bottom paint and, unfortunately, the can lid had opened in the box, so we were greeted with a box full of paint, which, of course, ended up on our counters, floors, cabinets, hands, clothes, the cat and dog, etc... when we opened the box. Sigh. Emailed company to let them know and again, very prompt and pleasant reply, stating they would let us know when they could get a replacement out. Next day, they called (a nice touch over an email) to let us know a replacement would be sent out, with apologies and promises of better packing. So... Minus 1 star for forcing the customer to track down their order, rather than updating customer about shipping delay. No loss of stars for the spilled paint...crap happens and the flung black paint made our orange cat look like a tiger, which was cool for a second. But, full 4 stars for prices and superior customer service. If we hadn't received this level of service from Dan, this review would have gone in a different direction! Wow. I'm guessing the only positive reviews are fake and from the owners. I ordered a part for a boat and five days later they still have not shipped it. I even paid for 2day shipping. I've only just now sent emails and called. If they don't respond by mid day tomorrow I'm cancelling and putting stop payments out. This is absurd allowing companies to operate like this. If you can't fulfill the order in a day or 2 consistently then you shouldn't be allowed online. And obviously they don't do anything consistently except market their stuff on 2 or 3 different apps. Do not trust them!!! I purchased an exhaust manifold that was defective. It had a hole in one of the exhaust tube. I had to send the boat to the mechanic, which took over 2 months. I ordered four small parts for sailing - packing slip shows I ordered four, they shipped three but charged me for all four. No notes regarding back ordered parts, no response to phone calls, no nothing. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I ordered parts on May 23, 2017. My credit card was billed on May 24, 2017. It is now July 16, 2017 and I have not received the parts. They have given me a different story each time I have called and even told me the website notified you at the time of ordering that the parts were on backorder. WARNING: I did get what I ordered, even if shipping amount was wrong, mailer mislabeled and shipped by the wrong carrier resulting in 8 day service instead of 2-3 days. However, if you have any problem which requires a refund or any other customer service related issue you are going to be out of luck. No matter which button you push when you call, you get the same unhelpful and rude person who will tell you that she can not approve a refund. This place has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I placed an order for a gas shock which had a lead time of 5-7 weeks since they don't regularly stock it. No problem since I didn't really need it immediately and the price was right. 8 weeks pass and I never receive any updates so I send them an email asking when they might be arriving in stock. I get some generic response about them being a 5-7 week lead time. Ugh, hello?!? I already knew that and it's been 8 weeks by this point. I tried calling their office and nobody answers. Literally called for a few days straight at different times throughout the day, not once did anybody answer on any of the phone line extensions! They purposely are avoiding people's calls. ordered a latch for a hatch on 4-23-15. Finally installed part THM-NRL-2-DP on or about the 1st week of May and first time I pulled it open the handle broke off the latch. on 5-8 I filled out the RMA form and received my first response 6 days later after emailing them to see why no response. I can't go lower than 1 star or I would have. Absolutely brutal. Placed an order in early June for a couple of routine parts. I was told they were backordered and would ship in 2 weeks which I agreed was okay. Late July I was told the parts were ready to ship but my credit card purchase authorization had expired and I called to re-authorize. Credit card was billed in full. Mid- August I was told they were on back order again. Early September I asked that the parts either be shipped immediately or the order cancelled. They again promised to ship. Mid November I was told the order had been cancelled but they didn't know by who and no credit had been issued. Now Christmas and still no credit has been issued and they are unresponsive. Bottom Line: Should be called "Last Choice Marine". I paid for parts using PayPal. Did not get parts or hear anything for 2 weeks. Emailed, called, got lots of decent lip service, but that's about all. Filed a "Dispute" with PayPal and finally got some parts. The whole process took over 3 weeks to get anything. Recieved 2 out of 3 parts. Started the escalation from "Dispute" to "Claim". Oh, Boy, Got some action. Recieved very a nice email stating, "We can't refund your money to Pay Pal when a dispute is active." So I belived them. Changed status to "Resolved". Have not heard a word, so I'm done with them. If you use PayPal, File a Dispute. Then if not satisfied with the service, escalate to "Claim". Don't let them sweet talk you into removing it. Watch out for this outfit. Not rated by the BBB. Still in the middle of my experience with First Choice Marine. I submitted an order from their site and used the trusty Google wallet to checkout on 2/20. Today is 3/7, and I haven't seen the carpet so I called First Choice Marine's customer service line. The agent, very professionally, informed me that I would need to pay another $150 for shipping due to the size and weight of the item, regardless of the fact that they had processed the payment with $0 shipping charge listed on the itemized receipt and had already paid in full for all charges associated with the purchase. He wasn't empowered to do the right thing ans ship my order, so we're 2 weeks later and I don't have my ordered items, nor did I get any contact from them until I reached out to them. He told me a manager would call me back. 10 minutes later they cancelled my order. Be very careful, the way they've done business with me on this transaction is that it's my fault their website has a flaw, they won't proactively communicate that it's my fault, and they tried to keep my money.
