She told us that she had to scrub her bathroom that was left filthy after workers used it WITHOUT HER PERMISSION. We came home to a flood in our main bathroom. The toilet float had stuck and flooded the bathroom and closet. I called First Choice Restoration and they understood the urgency. They had a crew out in an hour and they were quickly drying everything up. The crew communicated very well with us on the process. Not recommended. We had a leak late October of 2021 and started the reconstruction in November. We chose First Choice out of the 3 that were recommended by insurance adjuster, we chose them due to the other 2 would not be able to start the repairs until Feb 2022 and Kelly our project manager assured us that they could start right away. First there was zero cleanup after drywall, there was drywall smashed into my grout and all over my yard and they never came back to pick up the excess or garbage we had to clean and throw it away. Kelly was our project manager and when the shower installers realized that the walls were not straight and they would have to reschedule after it was fixed Kelly's said he was going to have the shower walls shortened, this was not what we wanted but the communication shut down and we requested to Aaron to assign another project manager so we could complete our project, which we did not get. I could go on but the shorter version is Kelly quit working with us and 5 months later, on a small job, I finally got the final bill and there were several things that said "did not do" I didn't ask them not to do anything they just didn't do them and still our bill was higher than our original estimate. This was an extremely stressful event and working with them made it even worse. read more

We had workmen at our house rebuilding the cabinet under our sink. They pulled out our dishwasher for us, because we are getting a new one. The dishwasher had leaked and they thought there was mold on the back wall and side wall. I called First Choice Restoration and spoke with John Roe. He came to our house this morning (June 24,2021). John cleaned and scraped the area and sprayed it. He also painted it to give additional protection. He said it was a minor problem. We highly recommend First Choice Restoration and appreciate John Roe. They are not a company that takes advantage of people. This company guarantees a lot and delivers nothing. They will damage additional items in your home and a 30 day guarantee completion will turn into 5 months. You are EXPECTED to accept their horrible workmanship. Their rebuild did not reflect what it looked like before. If they damage new product during installation they will not replace it. Supervisor does not follow up on contractors as they stated they would. YOU are responsible for staying on top of EVERYTHING! Do not let these people in your home. They do not take responsibility when things come up missing in your home. They will tell you it was not their people. I guess who they contract do not count when something occurs in your home. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Unfortunately, we were referred to them through our insurance company to replace the shingles on our roof. Their communication is very bad and inconsistent. I could never get a scheduled date to repair the roof, it was always "I'll talk to my guys and call you back" no callback or "next week" then their truck driver "called out sick." I understand that they are busy, I realize that other people had roof damage as well but all I asked for was communication and a scheduled date so we would know what to expect. We've had the damaged since August, we JUST recently got the roof repaired. Now that the roof is FINALLY complete, we have a leak. I reached out to First Choice, I sent them pictures, they said they would send someone out and they blew me off. After feeling helpless, I reached out to my insurance company who informed me that they talked to First Choice and they are blaming it on my AC leaking. They never came out to look, how do they know it is my AC leaking? In addition, the leak happened while it was raining. I've been very flexible and patient with them up until this point, but now we just want a resolution. read more

If we are talking about First Choice Restoration and Disaster Team in 1998 Mears Parkway, Margate; you are making the biggest mistake. I will post pictures of how my kitchen is since 6/8 to today. They took $2000 dollar deductible that I paid. I asked for a signed, and licensed contract by the owner and as of today, nothing. I will also tell you who the owner is per my information. I received an itemized bill from my insurance company stating how many equipments and services they claimed to provide but isn't true. I have documented everything with pictures. Company is a joke. They dont ever have any work even though they are a "preferred vendor." When they do have work they arent even permitted to be there, under numerous cases was there threats of misdemeanor tickets by the city, david and aaron literally have no idea how to run a restoration company, plus the guys they have working there are very under qualified and theres just alot of slack to be picking up. Our home suffered water damage from one of the summer of 2021 storms. After finally get insurance to move (Allstate), First Choice Restoration came on board and the work repairs began. The First Choice Restoration construction workers were very courteous, and mindful that they were working on the house that we live in. We just plain like them! The construction work was impeccable and even the daily mess that was necessary was cleaned up each day. If we had any questions, if the construction workers couldn't answer, they referred us to the Project Manager, Juan Alvarado, who promptly returned the call and took all the time necessary to explain so that we understood. It was necessary for First Choice to hire a subcontractor at one point and, unfortunately, there was some personal property damaged by that subcontractor. First Choice Restoration held that subcontractor's feet to the fire and the personal property was replaced to our satisfaction. We strongly recommend First Choice Restoration. read more

We were looking for a water restoration service to clean up my mother-in-law's flooded home in Globe. I contacted several firms through Yelp's "Request a Quote" feature. . First Choice called me within 30 minutes, learned about the problem and then said they would call back to tell me if they had a crew available. They did do that. However, unbeknownst to me, my sister in law contacted another company and set them on the way to Globe. When the First Choice scheduler called back a few minutes later I had to tell her that no longer needed the service. The owner called back a few minutes to confirm and then he followed up with an email to make sure the other company did the job correctly. NO. Jeff Mattingly visited my home and spent about an hour with me talking over the details of the job I wanted done. He told me he would email a quote within the next day or two. The next day he called me and said that he wanted to get some more specifics. After 2 hours of conversation, he decided that he wanted to come back the next day. I agreed and planned on that. As the evening aged to around 4-5 pm, I called him and the call was rejected. The next morning I called the office and they said they would call me back. Of all the contractors, 1st Choice Restoration was the only one who did what he said he was going to so when he said he was going to do it and at top quality! Unfortunetly, FCR is now having to fix the shotty work of other contractors! He and his workers are professional and went out of their way not to disturb our family and we didnt even notice when they were around. When looking for a contractor, licensing is important but just because someone is licensed does not mean they are honest and will do quality work! In addition to being licensed, Aaron is very easy to talk to and gave good design suggestions. This company gets 0 stars. This is a dishonest company that will deceive the homeowner in order to get business. I called this company because they work with the plumbing company that I was doing business with (and them only because my home warranty chose them). The two companies obviously have a business plan in mind before they get to you. Because there was mold present in the wall near the leak the plumber was hired to repair, the plumber told me that he could not do the repair until I had "certification from a licensed professional" that the mold was removed. He referred me to 1st choice and said that they could come out and do a free estimate. The first thing the technician wanted to see was my home owner's policy so we went over it. At no time was I told that if I agreed to "hire" them that the appointment was now an "emergency appointment" and never told how much that charge was, it was astronomical I found out later. Then the tech wasted no time at all bringing their industrial machine into my home. Although I was very hesitant through this whole meeting, the tech was eager to get my business and there was no disclosures of how much anything cost or if my insurance would even cover it. Although I used bad judgement in signing the work authorization and not asking more questions beforehand. The company is not honest enough to disclose things up front or to wait until you have spoken to your insurance company. They are eager to get business at any cost and they charge outrageous fees. I guess the insurance companies are willing to pay the exorbitant rates so that makes it ok for them to charge homeowners outrageous fees too. Run from this company or ask every question possible and you must get approval from your insurance before agreeing to let this company into your house. Also, if you have a cap on your insurance, be careful of this company easily exceeding your cap. read more
