I had a very disappointing experience here. I kept telling the lady to cut my toenails shorter and she barely cut them at all just went over them with the tool instead of actually trimming them. I asked again if she could make them shorter and she ignored me. The polish was messy, got all over my skin, and even though she tried to clean it up, it still looked blotchy. When I told them I wasn't happy with the pedicure, they didn't seem to care at all. The customer service was terrible, and I left feeling very unhappy. I hadn't gotten my toes done in a long time and was really looking forward to this, but instead I left with a pedicure I didn't like at all. read more

Haven't been to First Lady Nails in quite awhile! This used to be my go to spot and I learned it was under new management. The environment is not as personal with the change but I wanted to give it a try. I called and asked if I could get two pedicures and they said yes so we headed in. They looked pretty busy and we sat down and waited a few minutes until we were sat in chairs next to each other to pick out colors. We decided on two gel spa pedicures which were $40 a piece. They started on mine first by removing the gel and asking how I would like my nails to be filed. It wasn't until my pedicure was almost done that they started on my friends. If they would have let me know when I called it would have been no problem, I probably would have booked elsewhere. My friends pedicure seemed rushed because of this. I thought my polish was well done, the pedicure was also well done - I didn't think so for my friend. We went to pay and both pedicures were $81.25. When I inquired they said it's the fee for using the credit card machine. They did not disclose this when asking how I would like to pay and I found it really off putting. I pulled cash out, tipped and thanked them. It's a decent place to go and I may be back but it's no longer on my top list of pedicures in Fresno. read more

I do not recommend this place. I live in the neighborhood and my usual spot was opening later than I needed so I decided to try to this place. It looked clean enough however the staff seemed annoyed- I thought okay it's just the morning they might be tired no biggie. I had to wait a bit because I also wanted my eyebrows waxed. Once the wax lady got there she RUSHED me to back like I hadn't been the one waiting on her. Then, the eyebrows. My eyebrows are not naturally sparse but she somehow managed to make the tails sparse and she took off sooo much hair off the front. you can kind of see it growing back in. And I KNOW she knows she messed up because she didn't even hand me a mirror. She said we were all done and turned her back to me. They had a mirror at the foot of the bed and it appeared bad but she kept telling me to pay at the front so I couldn't even take a close look because I kept feeling like she wanted me out of there. To be honest I always kind of expect to get a bad wax and prepare myself but this one takes the cake for worst service and worst wax. Nails aren't much better either. read more

I came here for a gel pedi. My technician wasn't great with cutting/trimming nails. I get slight ingrown toenails and tend to get a pedi every couple months to keep things managed. Unfortunately, this tech didn't know how to cut toenails aside from a basic trim. He used his tools so roughly... and then kept slipping with that pointed cuticle cutter and cutting my actual toes. By the end of the pedicure, I had a cut on my big toe and one on my pinky. He never put any antiseptic on it like most places do either. I grew concerned about cleanliness of the tools too given the tools weren't wrapped and appeared to just be used and tossed back into the plastic bin on repeat. Once I got home, I sprayed my toe with hydrogen peroxide but it was insanely sore. By the next morning, my big toe was totally infected and now I'm living in flip flops during winter lol I regret coming here. read more

I came in a little over a week ago. I got gel nails done on my hands. The lady doing my nails kept playing with her cell phone and wasn't paying attention to the cycles under the UV light. She kept telling me to leave them in an have another cycle, So I did what she said and a little less than a week after that my cuticles became very red, LITERALLY PEELING, BLEEDING AND PAINFUL!. The pictures below are after I clipped off the strands of skin just hanging from my cuticles because of the sunburn on them from the excessive UV light cycles. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT! I also came in with my service dog an one of the other nail techs immediately starts talking to and distracting my SD. That nail tech had a little girl who though cute and adorable, kept trying to engage my service dog. The younger aunt of the baby kept letting her get right up to my SD and I finally had to tell her to remove the child or I would file a complaint. read more

I get a stiletto nail and it's definitely not the easiest nails to shape but Helen has spent so much time perfecting all nails shapes. This shop is such a positive and inviting environment, not to mention that they go above and beyond to take all COVID procedures into consideration while still giving the best service! Walked in one day after noon for a gel mani ($27) and I was in and out in about 50 minutes. I'm not sure what the nail tech.'s name is but she was a younger girl with bangs and short hair. She did a fantastic job; she helped me pick a color, meticulously cleared my cuticle, and was able to shape my nails perfectly considering I had some chipped nails. The place was clean, the service was friendly and fast, and she topped my gel mani with an aromatic massage and a hot, lemon-grass towel. She is very meticulous and always does an amazing job with my nails. I am pretty indecisive when it comes to choosing a color, but Christy is very patient and tests all the different colors on a nail with me before I commit to one. I'm so sad that I now have to find someone new in the bay, but if I'm ever in Fresno again I will definitely make a stop! The other nail artists here are all very friendly and easy to talk to as well. Prices are very reasonable... not too high, but not cheap. Should of read all reviews before going to this place. It's close to my home, so I took a risk. Like others stated they do NOT DO QUALITY WORK! I got my nails done Friday Evening and by Sunday the gel was chipping. Paying 30 with tip included I expected more. I went back today to have them fix the chips and they literally just applied the gel nail polish on top of the existing nail polish and put a coat that turned yellowish and dirty!
