So, I came from out of town for a wedding. After working 6 days of 12h shifts in the days immediately before my trip, I didn't have time to get a manicure needed for the bridal party. I wanted a basic mani with french tips and a color change on my toes. I just needed quick and basic. Calling in, I got pricing from a nice gentleman but when I arrived, my nail tech had a hard time understanding what I was looking for. We sorted it out in the end but she did a mediocre job. It was just ok. Again, I wanted basic but I expected basic done well. Also, the tech spent a lot of the time trying to upsell me with gel polish. I kept declining and then she basically said that if I leave and mess up the color they can't fix it because I didn't get gel. I was annoyed by this and wanted to leave but in my need to get this one thing taken care of and off my plate, I stayed. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I would still recommend this place because in observing the work they did with other customers getting more complex services, they really do a good job. If I were to get a full manicure and pedicure or gel, I wouldn't hesitate to visit here. The decor is nice and the space is very clean and organized. I will never patronize this business again. I asked for the Deluxe Manicure ($27 on menu, includes paraffin, massage, etc.) and Deluxe Pedicure ($50 on the menu, includes massage, paraffin, and hot stones). First off, they started doing my nails while I'm in the pedicure chair. I can't relax and drink my mini bottle of wine. But no big deal. Instead I peruse the salon, noticing the disgusting Saran Wrap on the massage controls. Ewww... My nails were short because I had an issue with the gel last time, so the lady asks if I want to add tips to make them longer. I said yes (knowing it would be an upcharge). Pedicure is complete and I am so eager to get out of the awful chair that felt like I was sitting on a metal bar that I forget I didn't get hot stones. I move to finish the manicure. The woman originally doing my pedicure begins the next step on my nails but abruptly leaves after I point out one of my nails is filed lopsided. Another younger girl comes over and she is nice, so fine. The white gel nails are turning yellow in the UV light, so she does them over and was super nice about it. They still turn but it's not as bad. I was going to get waxing done but couldn't decide on exact services until I determined how my brow wax went, so I went ahead and paid for my manicure and pedicure when asked...$116 rather than $77. Fine, I expected that I would pay more for gel and the tips. Then I'm told my mani is over...no lotion, no massage, no paraffin...nothing. I reminded them that I asked for a Deluxe Manicure. Another woman interjected and said that I didn't pay for it. I explained that I had paid $50 for my manicure, which was more than the deluxe. She said no, I got a full set and gel and that's it. I said I requested both Deluxe Mani/Pedi and that I understood there were up charges, which was fine, but I wanted the deluxe services...and mentioned I didn't get the hot stones either. At this point, the manager starts yelling across the salon at me. That was it for me. SNS Lasted ONE DAY!!! This place gets one star out. I like that they provide your own nail file for $1 (for those of you who don't know, it is required.) They also use liners for the pedicure bowl. However, their work chips drastically and VERY QUICKLY. First off, it took forever to do my nails. Their SNS powder is very cheap and chunky looking. I wasn't even in a rush but after a while it was exhausting. btw I only wanted SNS nails in one color, nothing special. The next day after being very careful. Two nails chipped. By day three my nails looked terrible! Waste of an experience. They refused to fix them. I wish I could get my money and my too generous $10 tip back. THEY'RE AWEFUL! read more

This last weekend I went in and their staff has been split in two. I had my nails left in acetone over thirty minutes!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone with fingernails knows that is way too long in acetone. I'm tired of their chatting in their foreign language behind my back. Yes, I don't speak your language and you (frankly!) barely speak mine, but i know when I'm being talked about. And I'm over it. Nasty & Rude & Money Hungry Everytime the polish looks lumpy and the nail tech to messy work on my feet I've been going to first nails for almost 11 yrs I've stopped a couple of times before because either they've used polish that was old and lumped on my nails gel polish that is and when I came back after calling they wanted to charge me again because they're so money hungry my daughter stopped going because a new girl did her nails and she called and was told they couldn't get her in after a week she went in showed them how the tech had messed up and they wanted her to pay you over today I go in an hour early because It takes a while to soak my polish off so I asked for a fan st the counter to be turned in just to be told after Ivy walked right pass me she tells me she has other customers ano its not time for my appointment I then explained to her that I came early to soak my bails plus I live across town and had errands in that side of town and didn't want to drive back home but for her to be so nasty like she has before today I was fed up I spend too much money with them and tip pretty damn good but she's moody and rude and would never snap on any of their white clients so seeing how there are 100 nail shops here in Greensboro I'll be going to anyone of them but will not step foot back in this establishment... read more

I've been going to First Nails for like a year now for pedicures, but today I got the best pedicure ever thanks to Tina. Even though I got the basic $25 pedicure, Tina gave me the best foot massage ever. Even though it's a Saturday and it's starting to pick up, Tina took her time. I'm going to go to Tina from now on when I get pedicures because I honestly don't remember the other ladies doing half the services she provided. Now when it comes to manicures I go somewhere else. I got a fill in once and it cost damn near $60. I understand chrome cost extra, but I didn't know it was gonna be that extra. At the time someone else was paying for my nails so I didn't care. But that's too high. Also I wasn't impressed with the manicure. I think what keeps me coming back to First Nails is the fact that they use liners in their pedicure bowls and that you have your own file (You are supposed to bring it back with you each time and if you don't they will charge you for another). read more

I was brought to Greensboro by my job for training and my hands and feet looked scary. The salon was right next to my hotel and they happen to be open later than any other place in the area. Typically I am extremely picky on where I have my nails done but given the circumstances I wanted to work with the hand I was dealt lol. The place looked clean and this lovely lady greeted me once I came in. The tech who did my pedicure was average. For a deluxe pedicure that cost $45 I expected a little more. She didn't clean into my nails like I perfected and when I asked her to do so she kinda brushed it off. My massage was below average, it felt like she didn't really cared about if it was good or not. But she did a good job making my heals smooth and took care of my hectic cuticles. Now what saved my experience to be above 3 stars is the nail tech who gave me the best manicure I ever had. I'm sad I didn't get her name. She took the time to speak to me and made me enjoy her service. She took the time to care for my tattered nails cause by fake nails. There's little I love more when I am a new person in a new establishment, and I am told what the process is. They tell me what my options are, they tell me what things cost, they tell me what's involved, and they keep me apprised of the status of things. I LOVE THIS. I was the only person in First Nails (it's brand new), and not a single soul spoke English except the owner, who clearly loved his new business and wanted to make his customers happy and comfortable. He greeted me, made me feel welcome, told me where to go, hung my jacket up for me, told me what pedicure options were available, offered to get me some hot tea, coffee or water, and just made sure I was super-happy. He showed me how to use the massage-y chair, and checked in with both me and my nail tech during the pedicure. Amazing thing is: None of this was pushy, annoying, overbearing or "too much." It was just right. Next time I'm in Greensboro for business, I will most definitely go back. My feet and legs felt and looked great; and as I was leaving, the place filled up with customers. Careful. They quote you a price over the phone and even in person and when it comes time to pay.... The price is a whole different story. They are decent with nails. I've had some places better. They did not clean my cuticles that well as I had to clean a loose hang nail at home. Never had that experience after getting my nails done. Regardless I'm giving a 1 star because it was very blatant how they scammed us for money. I basically got the mani/pedi with gel French tips. I was quoted about $60 over the phone and it came out to $80 +tip. They ran numbers in front of me while explaining discounts, then breaking into Vietnamese so I couldn't understand. And it came out to $80. After awhile I was so frustrated because there was a partial language barrier which I do think they use intentionally. In austin or la. I've paid max about 65 not including tip. My friend only got her pedicure with her mani just cuticles cleaned. She did get some $5 upgrade on her pedi but she paid $62 for just a pedi with cuticles on her hands cleaned! Lol fkn rip off. They knew we were from out of town and knew they could be shady. I will never go there again and frankly, buyer beware. Make sure you understand 100% what your price is before you get services rendered. Don't be fooled by them giving you flattering compliments and being nice. It's all a ploy to get more tips and overcharge. And don't just pretend you understand through their thick accents. I went to this location on Sunday, Jan. 30th. I needed my eyebrows waxed. I'd never been there before, and I was a walk in. After I signed in I didn't have to wait long before I was taken back. The lady that waxed my eyebrows was BEYOND chatty, and the worst part was the language barrier that totally enabled me from talking back to her. She did a mediocre job on my eyebrows. They weren't bad, but it certainly wasn't anything to write home about. On my way out the door, the man at the counter told me, "Happy Lunar New Year," and gave me a little red envelope that had a dollar bill in it. How quaint! I have lived in California for 20 yrs up and down and now las Vegas Nevada for 5 yrs and there is NO OTHER PLACR LIKE THIS the customer service is out standing..the services are phenomenal..prices are perfect. I give it 4stars. I walked in a got seated immediately. The setting is very comfortable. The people are friendly. I got the SNS and it turned out beautiful. I also got the deluxe pedicure. I most certainly enjoyed it. However I wish I had just got the 26$ pedicure. The people who were in the regular pedi chairs when I was getting my SNS when those people were seated and lucky them they were still in there seat getting worked on when I was drying my toes. (They May have been getting a fancy procedure that takes longer. I just want to add because I do not know what they got done.) The facility is clean and seemed well maintained. The staff take their time to go the extra mile to ensure that everything is done exactly the way their clients like, and they stay up-to-date on the newest products and trends. I have been going to First Nails for some time now and I have never had to experience long waiting periods when I do walk-ins. When I tell them that I am in a hurry, they assign two or more staff members to do my mani/pedi more quickly.
