We hired this company for a lighting design and low-voltage specification package for a high-end…read morecustom home project and paid approximately $5,000 upfront, expecting a complete, buildable lighting plan our electrician could follow during construction. The primary reason we hired them was for guidance on LED strip lighting systems, transformer sizing and placement, wiring diagrams, wine cellar backlighting, stair lighting, under-cabinet lighting, ceiling details, niches, and other architectural lighting features throughout the home. Despite multiple follow-ups, onsite discussions, renderings, and repeated emails, we never received complete specifications for many of the most critical items needed to move construction forward. We repeatedly had to ask basic but essential questions such as: * which LED strips to use * which transformers were compatible * where transformers should be located * what the electrician should wire for * load calculations and system divisions These were not additional requests -- this was the core service we hired them for. The most frustrating part was the lack of urgency and accountability despite construction actively progressing onsite. Instead of simplifying the project, we were left researching products ourselves, coordinating missing technical information manually, and trying to avoid delays caused by incomplete documentation. Considering the amount paid and the level of follow-up required from our side, the engagement ultimately delivered very little practical value to the project. It genuinely felt like the $5,000 fee was largely wasted. For a company operating in the luxury residential space, this level of communication, coordination, and incomplete delivery is extremely disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company for projects where responsiveness, technical detail, and timely execution actually matter.

Since they seem to handle a lot of corporate-scale installations, I initially wondered if my project might be too small--but that concern disappeared pretty quickly. The team was already very familiar with Ubiquiti systems and was incredibly patient working with me despite my fairly basic understanding. They walked me through the tradeoffs and ultimately recommended stepping up from mid-range equipment to more professional-grade options. The reasoning was clear, the cost/benefit made sense, and at no point did I feel pressured--just well-advised. The actual Ethernet installation work was top-notch--smurf tubing, recessed (not sticking out!) enclosures, and everything. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is honestly beyond what I would normally expect (or even feel comfortable demanding from contractors). They went above and beyond without being asked, and the cable organization is immaculate. Huge thanks to Justin and John for their precision and quality of work, and to Jim and Rodrigo for their thoughtful recommendations on equipment and access point placement. If you're looking for a team that combines technical expertise with professionalism and genuine care, I'd absolutely recommend them.

The quote we received for 3x cable runs was 400% more than the team we hired, and that team said their pricing was "average pricing." We also were quoted the highest end hardware, which would have been excessive for our needs. If you can afford to shop around and the timing of your project allows, we highly suggest shopping around!

When we got the new power cord and it didn't work either, we quickly realized we needed help getting the files off the hard drive of the dead laptop. We hadn't had a chance to backup the files before it died. We put out a project request on Yelp and started looking for companies that could help us We found Fastball Computers and Scott Nelson. Scott responded to our phone call and project request and was able to see us the next day at his shop. We took our laptop and got to watch Scott take out the hard drive and connect it to his computer and then transfer our files to our external hard drive. Scott knows his stuff and explains things so you understand what he is doing. His price was incredibly reasonable for the work he did. We have new laptop for my wife and all her files and pictures and are able to move forward. If you need data recovery services or other computer services, don't hesitate to call Scott.
