Yoooooooo First Watch kills it! You know it's gonna be good when there is always a wait to get in. Luckily they do the online check in via yelp so you can get in line before you get out of bed. Whatever you do - get one of their fresh juices. It's fresh squeezed/blended each day and never serve it the day after. Had combo of omelette and pancakes - so tasty. I added sausage to a mostly veggie omelette, and even though they were a little stingy with how much sausage they threw in there it was still really tasty! Staff is always crazy nice and the food is good. Plus when you order coffee or tea they give you a giant carafe that sits on your tables so you are never waiting for refills! read more

About as average as it gets. I'm surprised by the number of 4 and 5 star reviews. I'm not sure, but it appears the owner of this place must have lost his franchise agreement with The Egg & I. I say this because First Watch's menu is almost identical to The Egg & I's that used to be located here. I've only been once, but that's probably enough. Several reviews mention how good the coffee is and that they don't charge for refills. I'm sorry, but did I miss something? I haven't been charged for coffee refills at a restaurant.....ever. Side note - you better not charge for refills if the price for a cup is $2.79 like it is at this place. I had the "classic" eggs benedict. Their "classic" version is served on a halved ciabatta roll and includes tomato. It also uses lunchmeat ham instead of Canadian bacon. Not sure who told them this is a "classic" eggs benedict recipe, but I digress. The service was good, but somewhat overwhelming. I don't need someone stopping by to check on me every 2-3 minutes. The restaurant was at best half-filled on my visit, so I guess they were bored. First Watch isn't bad, but it isn't very good either. This is one of the places that has made our selective online ordering weekend brunch list. They have 2 qualities I really value - fast and good. IMO, breakfast is a meal that goes downhill very quickly if it sits too long. I've never had a to wait more than 15 minutes for my order to be ready. The good part is that they have some items that are diet friendly for me (such as the healthy turkey omelet with egg whites and the Triathlete) and just plain good from the regular side (morning market veg omelet is a favorite for my spouse). Took a friend to breakfast this morning, and had a drastically different experience than what I'm used to. When we arrived, the restaurant was pretty slow; about a third of the tables were filled. I figured we would be able to get in and out pretty quickly. No. After being promptly seated we were greeted by a pleasant but inattentive waitress. Despite ordering coffee, we had to ask for water twice. Once to the food runner who delivered our luke-warm food, and disappeared into the ether. I ordered the Bacado omelet which came out luke-warm (and I'm being generous) with a scant teaspoon of sour-cream and a brown slice of avocado. If the greens that came with it were "lightly dressed" you could have fooled me. All I could taste was plain lettuce. Once the food was delivered, our waitress checked on us once and also disappeared in the ether. We had to get our check from the cashier/hostess. I used to take guests here because I could rely on the quality of the food and service. I left the restaurant feeling embarrassed for being the one to choose it. Considering that the restaurant was mostly empty, and that our food passed through multiple hands before reaching us - this is experience is unacceptable. read more

The service and attention provided be Kelly Ann (General Manager) was impeccable. She was attentive to our needs, aware of the workflow and hand on in every aspect. Which normally would have irritated me but the menu at First Watch is so huge that we actually needed all that time to decide what to eat. Soooo I am slightly confused on why the reviews for this place are so great...I begged my husband to take me here for brunch and I ended up apologizing and wishing we had skipped the wait and gone to Cinnabon right next door. The wait was meh, we joined the waitlist and that helped I think...It was still too long of a wait for what we got. Not sure how long this place has been open, but they are clearly not prepared or stocked with the supplies needed to run this restaurant properly. As someone who has been in the service industry for a long time, you can easily tell when a place has not prepped properly. They were running out of glasses, water carafes, and rolled silverware had food on it. The service was ok, but you could tell some of the staff couldn't keep up with the high volume. The food though I thought would save it, but it literally made the whole experience worse. I got the BLT Benedict and it was horrible, and I wish I would have gotten the avocado toast. The eggs were way over done, the hollandaise was super lemony and had more of a custard taste to it. (They have a ricotta pancake with creamy lemon curd, and I couldn't help but wonder if that was what my eggs benny was topped with) The side salad had zero dressing, and we had waited so long I didn't want to send it back. My husband had the soup and salad combo, and you could tell he was disappointed and didn't want to say anything in case I liked the place. When I said I was sorry for dragging us here, we will not be coming back he then went on to say, "Its hard to mess up a soup and salad, but it was not anything that great." This place was okay. Food was good the issue was mainly service. The waitress kept disappearing. Also she charged me for an orange juice when I had asked for apple juice for my daughter which should have been included. I told the waiter that she didn't like orange juice and asked if she could get apple juice and he kept trying to get me to take the first plastic cup. I explained I didn't ant to waste anymore plastic and asked if he could just put it in the same cup or put one in a glass cup and I'd change it out which he didn't understand at first. Also my waitress didn't get why I didn't ant to be charged for an orange juice I didn't order when it says on the kids menu drinks are included with her meal. The women next to me seemed to know everyone so they kept going to her table maybe if I had been her I would have gotten more service. First Watch satisfies my breakfast crave! We did a take out and the foods may look not that much but portions were actually just right for us. Compared to other breakfast places like Snooze or Kerbey Lane, I would say most of the food choices at First Watch are of a lighter fare (less cheesy and creamy) but no less flavorful, which I personally prefer. This is my second review for First Watch. My first review was for the location in Round Rock, which was not such a great experience. Management was very responsive. So, we revisited but headed to Austin/Anderson Lane for another try. On this occasion we went on a Monday morning at 9am, there was no wait, we were a group of four. The staff was exceptionally nice and friendly and we were quickly seated and offered coffee. I had the Acai bowl, other guests had french toast, million dollar bacon and pancakes. The two guests who had french toast said their food was ok, not bad, but not special. The guest who had pancakes and million dollar bacon enjoyed their meal and I really enjoyed my Açaí bowl with toast and almond butter. The only downside to the service was everybody received their food and I didn't. I waited about 10 minutes and asked a person cleaning a nearby table for our waitress, because I didn't receive my food. Quickly the server delivered my food My husband, asked me to add this to my review...in the men's room, handicap stall there were several dead large tree roaches with feet pointing upward. He said this is an indication that the restrooms are not being timely cleaned (yikes). Overall, we would return to this First Watch (during the weekdays). There were several guests that seemed to be regulars, the servers and greeter were laughing and having conversations with them. Very consistent breakfast.... excellent. You must try the millionaires bacon. What a treat... spicy but sweet. Be sure to ask them not to overcook.. sometimes it comes out black if they are busy. The french toast is awesome. The pancakes are fabulous. Made fresh, and done right. Try the REAL maple syrup option, it cost more but is worth it. The also do great scrambled eggs - interestingly, I have had trouble in Austin as of late getting good scrambled eggs. Great breakfast place, can be crowded. read more

Upon being seating I asked for a hot chocolate and said I wasn't ready to order food yet the waiter rudely cut me off and proceeded to walk away. After I get his attention again 15 minutes later I order my hot chocolate and food. The waiter then only brung half the order I ordered and I had to wait and additional 30 minutes. My friends and I came here for brunch on Sunday at 11am. We didn't know this place actually takes reservations so the wait was 30-45 minutes. No big deal, it's our fault for not making a reservation. What is not our fault is the horrible service. After we were finally seated about 50 minutes later, our waiter took our drink order, forgot our water or a water cup cause there's 3 of us but only 2 cups and we didn't see her again for 15 minutes. Dude, we're pretty hungry at this point, it's not gonna take 15 minutes for us to decide on what to eat. What's even more amazing, since I couldn't find our waiter, I tried to make eye contact with which ever waiter/server is nearby and they literally make eye contact with me and look away like I'm some homeless person at a stop light. My friend would like me to add in my review that she asked for butter which should have came with her meal and was told to wait a minute. My other friend who's been more forgiving of their service up until this point was appalled by how the server handled our friend's request for butter. Anyways our food took about 25 minutes to come out and not even all of it came out at once. I was told my sausage that same with my Trifeca plate was going to be another 5 minutes which turned into 10 minutes and they forgot my friend's potatoes she ordered with her eggs benedicts. We all agreed that the food is not worth the wait nor the price and shitty service. We thought maybe it's just us but then we heard the table next to us reply to the waiter when she ask if everything's ok, "No, everything is not ok." Yeah the service was non-existent today.
