We arrived about 12:15. We only had a short wait til we were brought to our seat. The waitress greeted us promptly and gave us extra time to go over the extensive menu. I ordered the salmon omelet with a side of cheese grits and my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes and a piece of multigrain toast. He really enjoyed his meal. Said the flavor was on point. Mine on the other hand was underwhelming. The omelet was small and dry and the grits were super dry like a thick paste. I added a lot of hot sauce, salt and pepper to it to eat it. We have eaten here before and I wanted to try something new. Maybe next time I stick to the basics. We were seated immediately and welcomed by Wendy, a ray of sunshine. She had us smiling before the menus even hit the table. We started with drinks--some coffee, water, sweet tea, and a glorious Coke Zero. You read that right. It is officially a Coke Zero establishment, and my heart is happy. I went with the Tri-Fecta: scrambled eggs, bacon, and the carrot cake pecan pancake. That pancake deserves its own fan club. My coworkers ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich with salad greens and lemon vinaigrette and the Bacado omelet with potatoes and a side of salad greens. We were clearly trying to balance the indulgence with some greens, and it worked out perfectly. The food came out quickly; everything was hot and fresh, and honestly, it looked ready for a photo shoot. Taste-wise? Even better. Every bite was delicious, and Wendy kept the good vibes going with drink refills, to-go cups, and menu recommendations like a true pro. Quaint brunch spot! I always enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and cozy brunch foods. I love that everything on the menu has a unique twist on classic cafe meals. Nothing is basic! My power breakfast quinoa bowl was filling and hearty. I ordered a side of gluten free toast and was a little disappointed to only get one slice of un-buttered toast. Very impressed with this restaurant. They allowed freshness of the food to shine with quality ingredients and balanced seasoning. I tried a skillet market hash plate with a side of grits. The skillet plate shined through. The grits were a little clumpy though but honestly didn't mind cuz my main dish was very good. I also would rate the water at a 8.93726/10. Usually when that happens, there is always potential for long waits for food, someone waiting longer than everyone else to get their order, waiting forever for checks, etc. We had a reservation and zero issues. Can't say a thing bad about this place. It's always full, but you're able to get seated relatively quickly as long as your party is under 6 people. The food is fantastic and their rotating seasonal menus provide a diverse sample of flavors and fusions. The coffee is great and the servers seem to really enjoy their job. For a late lunch, seating was no problem. We were offered coffee right away, my husband took them up on that and enjoyed his small pot on the table. I had a cob salad with bacon, avocado, romaine lettuce etc. the warm honey mustard dressing was not too sweet. My husband had a roast beef with havarti and home fries. Went here today for lunch and the food was amazing! Our server was great as well, very attentive and suggestive about foods/drinks. I was very disappointed to learn that they are now a corporate store rather then a franchise and corporate does not offer a military discount. On our last weekend in the great state of 'Braska we discovered a couple new fantastic places to nom and this was one of them. Our house was a compilation of boxes so we decided to search out breakfast. Now it could be that we decided to try this place because of the promise of gf bread..or it could also be that the name reminded me of Game of Thrones..but either way we ended up pretty happy we stumbled upon it before heading out to Westeros. The adorable rustic farmhouse design and decorations creates a cozy atmosphere out of a large open space dining concept. There's lots of large booths and plenty of table space for big groups. Our server Marla was great and contrary to 90% of my experiences in 'Braska, she was fully aware of gluten free and Celiac allergy. The kitchen even made extra attempts to not contaminate the bread in the toaster and to prep my food separately. Ooo yaaa. Like a hipster I had to go with the avocado toast and eggs which were pretty good though in proper hipster form, I felt like the avocado needed a little more complexity like a little spicy hint or feta cheese folded in. The husband cleaned his plate of the omelette and fried potatoes, Marla probably had to double take wondering if she'd brought him only a freshly washed plate for breakfast. Price of food was very reasonable especially for their large portion sizes. Friendly service, cute atmosphere and my first watch experience ended with some delish gluten free toast, but unfortunately no Jon Snow sightings. read more

"PURPLE HAZE Lemon, cane sugar, butterfly pea flower tea and hint of lavender." I could drink that all day. Our busy waitress gave us the time to think over what we wanted. She was extra peppy and checked back with us often. We put in an order of "MILLION DOLLAR BACON Four slices of our signature hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and a maple syrup drizzle." - a little over $5.00. Not worth it. I can easily do 5 strips of bacon on a plate. I ordered "HUEVOS RANCHEROS TOSTADAS Two crispy corn tostadas topped with fresh smashed avocado, two sunny-side-up cage­free eggs, chorizo, salsa verde, house­pickledredonions, chive crema, Cotija and fresh cilantro. Served with black beans and pico de gallo." Here is the deal. It was fantastic. However it came out room temp. I almost sent it back but it had taken a long time to come. As I ate it the food more towards the middle was warmer and it was still so full of flavor and I ate it all. It was good! Hubby ordered "CHICKICHANGA Whipped eggs with spicy, all-natural chicken breast, chorizo, green chilies, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla. 7opped with 9era &ruz sauce and all-natural sour cream. Served with fresh fruit and fresh, seasoned potatoes." He liked his as well. However again his was almost cold. I understand we could have said something, but it was so busy we understand and not sure why it wasn't under the heat lamp but it was still so good. First watch always has good food, it's not always the cheapest food in town, but it is some of the best I've had for breakfast. I've been in first watch several times, but I've never had any issues getting waited on, getting refills; plus, the food comes out pretty fast, and always hot. The restaurant always seems to be clean and tidy. It's a place you could take your wife and kids and feel confident that the restrooms will not be gross, you can go knowing that you can change your baby in there if you need to. I love First Watch. It is my main breakfast craving, and I'm so glad I no longer have to trek ouyto West Omaha for a fix. The food is fresh and delicious, with plenty of vegetarian fare and healthy options...or if you'd rather blow 1200 calories on french toast, they got you covered as well. For the carnivores, they have millionaire bacon, which I have heard nothing but good things about. Their breakfast potatoes are my favorite, and the bread is so good, especially with the home-made strawberry preserves. As an added bonus, the menu on their website has the most customizable nutrition calculator around, which makes First Watch a perfect breakfast or lunch stop for a picky person on a strict calorie budget. This location seems larger than the Egg & I that it replaced. I believe they knocked out a wall to make more room. I haven't been here during a weekend breakfast rush yet, but I've never had a problem getting a table during lunch. Definitely check out First Watch if you haven't yet! read more

Amazing breakfast spot. My husband and I had the biscuits and gravy and the Tri Fecta. Super great! Gravy was perfect and the home fries were done very well. Waffle on the Tri was perfect as well - not too sweet, and with the warm syrup made it even better. We also had the million dollar bacon as an appetizer...awesome. Glad we decided to order this because we both finished it. Decor and setting is so relaxing. It's almost impossible not to feel content given the food and ambiance of this spot. Nice open floor plan with tables spaces very nicely. Our waitress was really funny and we kept the banter up all meal. I first got the Eggs Benedict and my fiancé got the chilé chorizo omelet. I didn't like the Eggs Benedict, it tasted too lemony with the other flavors. The waitress was awesome and took it back and made me the works omelet. I loved that! I also got the Honey Crunch iced coffee. I got more ice than coffee and it was way too sweet. I started taking out the ice and putting it in another cup and by the time I was done, the coffee filled the cup less than half full. I think I'll try a flavored tea or a punch next time. I will say that the food really does look like the menu pictures. So go give them a try, if you enjoy breakfast or brunch food, you're sure to find something you'll love! read more

We came on a Thursday at about 11am. Got seated right away. Service was great. Food was decent. Overall wasn't to blown away. I got the cantina breakfast burrito off of the seasonal menu. It had a lot going on; from the onions, different sauces, potatoes, meat, etc. I thought it would have a little bit more fun flavors to it. It ended up just being ok. When arriving at the restaurant, expect bright scenery. People here are smiling on their Tuesday lunch break. The menu is full of items that I assume would be great, especially if I were looking for a lighter, or cruelty free option. The prices for simple breakfast food made me lose my appetite straight out the gate though. $11 for biscuits and gravy? $5 for a side order of bacon? That's egregious even for a small business. I expected the quality and/or quantity of their food to be over the top if the owners wanted to gouge people's pockets like that. I was of course proven wrong on both of those accounts. I always remember what I learned in culinary school, "don't bother making something from scratch if you cant make it better than the box." The gravy was burnt; roux was dark and nutty and not incorporated into the sauce. I had a single whole biscuit served to me, which was delicious but definitely not worth emptying my pockets. Potatoes were just okay. Eggs however were cooked wonderfully, couldn't have asked for anything better. Service was also just okay. The restaurant wasn't busy, our server was absent until needed, and polite. But the water carafe went empty without the offer for a refill until after the check came out. Boo.
