On our second visit, I was more disappointed with this place. Our first visit was during their soft opening. It was at that time I discovered almost everything on the menu has some form of citrus in it. As one of the less-common allergies to be exposed to, I was careful with what I ordered during that visit, and the first time, during the soft opening, the server helped me find something that would not trigger my allergy. This morning, our second visit, we went back. I knew the place was a potential trigger for me. I mentioned to our server about my allergy and that I was having a difficult time finding something that would work for me, and she just kind of shrugged her shoulders and walked away. This non-verbal action basically said "figure it out on your own." I thought I found something on the menu that would work, and ordered it. I do not recall the menu description having any indication of a trigger for me. I thought I was safe. The chickachanga was SMOTHERED in hollandaise. Normally, I can handle hollandaise and be tolerable with my allergy. First Watch's hollandaise is made with far more lemon than reasonably needed. My husband tasted the sauce and even said "Wow! That is SUPER lemony!" I get lemon and lime are flavors to brighten some flavor profiles, but almost every dish on their menu has it. Arugula dressed in lemon, their fresh drinks are all based in lemon juice, their hollandaise has more lemon than needed, the list goes on. Fortunately, for my allergy, it's mild. I wont die from exposure, I will, however, be incredibly uncomfortable for the rest of the day. But, what if it was something more common? Would that same server shrug her shoulders and walk away when a food allergy is mentioned? No matter what kind of deal or promise is made, I cannot go back. The lack of concern from the server is what made that decision for me. There's a better sit-down breakfast/brunch place across the street that doesnt slather everything in citrus. read more

New restaurant in the area of Costco off the 10 and verrado. It's cute outside and in, very clean and well maintained. The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. We ordered the biscuits and turkey gravy, and the chipotle steak and queso hash. Normally we ordered extra gravy for the biscuits at other first watch's, but this one provided enough without requesting extra. Both meals were great. Let me start out by saying I love First Watch and go really often. I was excited to try this location when I was nearby and pleased to see plenty of open seating so we didn't have to wait to be seated. We were given menus as well as some coffee. I knew right away. I was getting the traditional breakfast as well as my son. I opted for turkey sausage he chose bacon. We also ordered $1 million bacon as an appetizer service kind of dwindled at this point we had to ask multiple different people for water. Before finally bringing some out. Our friend came out pretty quick. My eggs were a little overcooked, but besides that it was OK I don't know if they're still trying to get the kinks out, but I'm pretty sure they've been open for a while now it wasn't the worst First Watch experience I've had but a little frustrating that I had to keep asking for something little like water again the food was good coffee great service just need some help. I usually get the Bacado but decided to try the works omelet this time. The chunks of breakfast links in the omelet were a bit odd to me. I would recommend the Bacado if you're looking for an omelet. I love First Watch, but I will not go back to this location. The person I went with placed their order at the same time I did, they bought her order. My order never came. They also left the toast and jam off of her order and when she asked for it, they never bought it. The waitress never came back so when I approached the desk and let them know what had happened they told me to sit down and wait for the manager to come. I left and have never been back to that location. Instead, I go to the one in Avondale or Surprise, even though this one is closest to me. read more

Great new breakfast spot in Verrado. The ambiance is warm, modern, clean and welcoming. The service is fast, friendly and attentive. The food options are plenty and the coffee is never ending and fresh! The biscuit and gravy is really taste, the eggs cooked as requested and the breakfast potatoes were cooked amazing and tasted even better. My wife loved her avocado hash and my son's half waffle was fluffy and hit the spot. My daughter loved her yogurt with fruit and muffin. I entered as soon as the restaurant opened, and although there were plenty of staff on the floor, no one seemed to know who was supposed to take our table. We sat for about 14-20 minutes before even receiving menus. Three different staff members appeared confused about who was responsible for us. One person eventually brought the menus, but a different server ended up taking over and bringing the food. Unfortunately, she seemed irritated during the few brief interactions we had with her. The food itself was just okay. The "specialized" bacon was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. Our meals arrived lukewarm, and throughout the entire visit we only received two refills in their small glasses, aside from one pitcher of water. To make matters worse, when I went to pay, there was no one at the register, and I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for someone to show up. Even then, the register wasn't working properly and required two staff members and multiple reboots just to process the payment. There were only about eight tables occupied, so it wasn't even busy. Overall, this was a disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I will not be returning, which is unfortunate because I really wanted to enjoy this place. read more

We came this morning for the soft opening of this location, and it was amazing! Their food is fresh and so flavorful. I got the farmhouse hash and added mushrooms, and it was delicious. We tried the donuts and they were yummy. I also had the kale juice for the first time and it was so good I want to juice myself. Our server, Stacey, was so friendly. I love first watch however the opening has been rocky. I've gone twice now since it opened. First time the food took a more than normal wait which I found odd for soo early in morning. All other locations I've been too the food is super fast. The service was decent, however not really friendly. The 2nd visit the order was incorrect. Eggs way underdone, toast was literally dripping in butter, and it still took a super long time for the food. The mgr came and apologized, comped the dish which I appreciated and gave a BOGO card for next time. She was trying hard to make it right and I wasn't upset to begin with just disappointed that new store opening hasn't been great. The difference between over easy and first watch since they have opened in same location within months of each other. Over easy has a mgr on floor at all times and doing checkbacks. Whoever is on expo is checking every plate going out and making sure their ticket times are good. The food is hot and consistent. First watch-- you guys have some work to do to make this better. It's only going to get busier as you get into the busy season and you're not going to be able to keep up. You have to get a manager on the floor nonstop and someone who is checking those plates before they go out. I'll still come back, however the expectations aren't super high at this point, such a shame since you make a killer French toast and those million dollar potatoes are incredible! read more

We have been to many First Watch locations in various states and have always received excellent service and fresh, delicious food from the breakfast and lunch menus. Very popular and sometimes there is a brief wait, but it is well worth the wait. Lots of "healthy " options and seasonal offerings to keep it interesting. Truly something for everyone. We went twice opening week, and it was so good. But then this Wednesday morning we took my in-laws for brunch and it was terrible. We were there two hours. Insane. We waited 20 mins for a waitress to come take our drink order. Once we ordered drinks and appetizers, we waited about 30 mins. Then she took our brunch order finally. Once we ordered, we waited about 40 mins for our food. But then they only brought out 3/4 meals. The food was not good. The tomato was soggy and mooshy. The sandwhiches were literally wet and the lettuce on them was rotted and stinky. My husbands Monterey club, had one tiny slice of turkey. The waitress agreed it was bad and brought out more Turkey. But it was disappointing. We will be taking a break from this restaraunt sadly. The other upsetting thing was our glasses smelled like wet dog. I was hoping to really enjoy my experience at First Watch but unfortunately it was anything but enjoyable. My mother and I joined the online waitlist and checked in upon arrival. We were told it would be about 20 more minutes for a table so we went back to our car to wait. After waiting another 25 minutes we went back inside to check because we hadn't heard anything. Our name on the list was gone but luckily they were accommodating and sat us right away at the table closet to the host stand. We then waited forever for our server to come over and great us. We order drinks and our food and when our food comes out we notice my mom's food is incorrect. She ordered the classic eggs benedict and what she received looked like the blt benedict. She mentioned to the girl who dropped our food off that she order the classic eggs benedict that's supposed to come with ham and the food runner said that the ham was underneath the bacon and just walked away. The ham was not underneath the bacon so we now we are waiting for our server to come by and check on us so we can get the correct food item. We had to ask 3 different people for our server before she finally came back over. She didn't apologize for the mistake and just took the food and said she would look into it. After she did apologize and said it was her fault she put the wrong food in but the manager was on it and was going to fix it. That's totally fine mistakes happen but management never came by to check on us or speak to us. Eventually my mom gets her food and our server only came back to drop our check off not make sure everything was right.
