We were super lucky and were able to get seated early! I definitely recommend getting on the waitlist as soon as possible to help cut the wait time down. It was pretty busy on a Sunday morning but we were able to get our food at a reasonable time. Our server was super nice and did a great job checking up on us through out the meal. This is a great place to meet up for brunch with friends and family! The food was pretty tasty; however the French toast wasn't as fluffy as we've had in the past and the the pancakes was a little burnt underneath. I wouldn't say it was better than our first impression. We ordered the A.M. Superfoods Bowl, I ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich and an Apple Juice to go with it. It was 1st experience at a First Watch today and it was decent. The food came quickly during the lunch hour. The service was good. Plenty of parking. My food was just okay. My scrambled eggs were bland, my cinnamon chip pancake was overcooked with a blackened bottom but drowning it in syrup saved it and my bacon was dried out crispy. So not brittle crispy but tough to pull apart and chew crispy. I will say my officemates who got lunch items off the menu enjoyed their meals so I'd be open to going back and eventually trying some of the lunch items. I've had the breakfast food and the lunch sandwiches. Mostly it's been great. In the last trip I tried the million dollar bacon which was sweet with a little heat in the syrup or honey that was drizzled over it. I really like their breakfast foods. Those have been excellent. The sandwiches are just par for the course. It's nowhere near an attempt to be creative as the breakfast is. They are pretty much what you would expect from a grocery deli but not a sandwich shop. They also seem to struggle with keeping employees (which most restaurants do at this time). You can definitely tell which are new ones as they struggle through the shift. They did a good job explaining just the options on the menu. I was excited to know there was a First Watch in Charlotte, NC because my experience with First Watch has been amazing from our previous state (FL). Not sure what they got going on at this location but they need some improvements. First impression, looked like they had a busboy or dishwasher as a hostess. Seated at our table without menus but was given coloring paper kids menu but no crayons. I didn't ask for the menu, I simple grabbed them from the hostess stand. I did ask for crayons so the babies could entertain themselves while we waited to order; they had NO crayons. Food came out relatively quick. Order: half waffle with bacon, trifecta, grits, and biscuit gravy. Grits were cold, so the butter that was on top did not melt into the grits for a buttery flavor. Biscuit gravy wasn't good. This place is at a great location. I've come to other First Watch locations before and love their food. This location has a beautiful interior and set up. It's spacious and can seat a lot of people at once. The food here is always amazing and I enjoy whatever I order every time. I've come to this location about 5 or 6 times so far and I've waited to review it. For one reason. The service I received today was excellent, attentive, and what I would expect for the upscale Southpark area and price of food. Previous times I have come, the service was not as attentive and helpful as I would expect for the price but I kept going back for the food and great location. For a place like this in a location like this, high quality service is expected. I'm glad today the service was amazing and I think the server today was new to this location and was everything I would want at this price point. She was helpful, attentive, and friendly. She also seemed very experienced as a server and I think that made a difference too in her ability to be so great. In comparison to others I have had here she was definitely by far the best server. And hopefully they will continue to hire great servers like her to accurately give this place the experience it has to offer. My dining partner took the hint from my last visit and ordered the BLT Benedict and loved it. I ordered the Modern Croque Madame, and enjoyed it as well. Exceptionally terrible experience all around. Walked in and no one knew what to do. The poor guy at the front desk literally walked away because he wasn't sure what to do. We eventually were seated. We order quickly which was nice however the waitress had the "I don't want to be here attitude". We took it in stride and ordered. My wife and I's food came quickly however our sons pancakes didn't come till 5 minutes later..strange since we had items that actually need to be cooked a while and he had hotcakes. Upon looking at my wife's dish I saw two completely uncooked eggs and potatoes that appeared to also be uncooked. Sure enough the potatoes were rock solid and the eggs were not consumable. I looked at my plate and knew I was in for hard as rock sweet potatoes as well. Sure enough it was like biting into a raw potato. I'm not exaggerating this one but either. The potatoes were RAW. The waitress came over and we pointed to the eggs, assuming she would see the issue, she did not get it. We continued to tell her the issue she couldn't see on her own. We politely asked she send all this back to get re cooked. Less than 5 minutes later she comes back out with the same plates only mixed up and cheese out on top. You can see the picture for yourself. We, once again politely, say this is not cooked and the potatoes aren't edible. She didn't know what to do or say. It was like talking to a wall. No discount or any thing of the sort of recommended to take off the bill. My wife tried to eat around the eggs. 4 bites in and she had to stop. She came home and has had upset stomach since. In closing, we were regular patrons at the location in Matthews and loved it. It was beyond a disappointing experience in the South Park location. Management should be ashamed. The wait staff is not trained, cooks clearly not trained, greater and seater not trained, and obviously conflict resolution has not been addressed. Oh one last item. The waitress drops a small open container of jam from my sons plate upon clearing the table and smears it on the floor. You can literally see 50% of it still which is right beside me and where I would need to get up and walk out. I waited for it to be cleaned..take a wild guess if that ever happened. Coming from out of state with a fabulous First Watch location this one in Charlotte was a HUGE let down. Ordered the tomato soup and ham gruye sandwich combo. Soup was cold and had beans in it. When I mentioned to the waitress it had beans in it and was cold she said they must of combined it with their other soup and it was the last serving. Both of our sandwiches were to be "melted" and they came out BARELY toasted. Like eating at a cheap sub shop. Don't waste your money if you are familiar with how First Watch should be. It was fine but I prefer my omelet toppings to be mixed with the egg and these were just tucked inside. I like First Watch. I usually go to the one on Glenwood in Raleigh but just happened to be in the area with friends and we visited this location. It looks and feels new, and has lots of seating space inside. We went here on Saturday close to 11am which happened to be right before it got crowded. Our server was very friendly, the food was good but I will say that -- and I don't know if it's overall trend in first watch or it's just this location specific -- it seems like portions are now smaller. The bowl definitely used to have more quinoa and kale in it as this is not my first time getting it. The pancake in the menu is described as "humongous", but that's such a stretch, it's extremely thin and overall is not that big at all, and that teeny tiny little half of the sausage honestly looks hilarious, it's sooo small. The toast with "the works" also seems to be smaller now. That said I quite enjoyed my pesto chicken bowl. The new tangerine dream drink is not my favorite, I didn't taste much pineapple nor tangerine at all, more like lemonade topped with vanilla coconut milk. It's okay. Coconut milk also is not supposed to curdle or separate with acid, but it does unless you shake the drink really really well, which obviously you can't do that in this drink by design since it's just topped with milk. So like I said, it's okay, probably wouldn't order it again. My favorite one is kale tonic, if you like cucumbers this is the one to try! read more

Too bad we can only do scrambled. You want to eat at the same time as your wife? Too bad your meals will come out 5-10 mins apart. You like that bread included in the description of your meal? It will come after your done with the main part of your order. I want to like this place so badly, but you never know what you're going to get when you order and I order the same thing every time I come. Farmhouse Hash Skillet. Sometimes you get potatoes, sometimes you don't, sometimes it's loaded with too much bacon, sometimes you get 3 bacon bits.... It's wild. Improve on consistency - maybe job aids for meals would help?
