Welp this was our second attempt. First time our service was the issue and whoop there it is again. We were one of 4 tables sat at around 7:50am. It took 10 minutes and me flagging down the bar tender to get a waitress and drinks ordered. I watched server chaos and confusion while a table of 4 employees (I guess cooks) sat in the back corner clueless to the goings on. Once a server came over, she did a good job. This place has to do better. Who runs the front of house? Food was ok with one dish (skillet) under temp but the rest was hot. The pot of coffee that was left at our table kept me sane, but should a review be touting the coffee pot as the best part of a dining experience? Please invest in promoting awareness in the FOH. I'm a firm believer of the potential of this location. Will give it one more try perhaps in a few months. read more

Beyond upset, unfulfilled and disappointed. I've been to several first watches and always loved my experience and food. This time was a different story. After ordering my food at 12:05 i didn't get to eat PART of my meal till 12:50. I waited another 10 minutes for my partners meal to come out. All of it was LUKEWARM and my partners meal was disassembled. The restaurant was also so hot i heard several people also complaining about the temperature. I had dined here previously, and though the service had been slow, the food was great. Today, that was not the case. The service was horrendous, but the food was worse. My wife ordered lemon ricotta pancakes that came out so dry they were inedible. We're still trying to figure out how ricotta pancakes come out dry. I ordered one of the summer specials -- the Hacienda Hash. It came out super greasy. The poached eggs were under cooked. The potatoes were raw. It was a complete fail. After having to flag the waitress down, I requested a classic benedict for the sake of safety and ease. Not only did the waitress seem not to care about the food being inedible. She never came to check on the refire. The bread wasn't toasted. The ham was cold. The eggs were undercooked. The side salad was undressed. We took our check and paid just to be able to leave. We'll be going to any other restaurant in the neighborhood now. This was a horrible experience. read more

Strike one when he took our order which my husband gave him my order he asked was the order for him he said no he snickered. Was surprised to get a reservation for 6 with only a 10 minute wait on a Sunday for brunch. Tried ordering a Bloody Mary to learn they didn't have a liquor license. Stopped by this morning on my lunch break because I needed something to keep me going through the day. I was informed they didn't have bacon, but the girl who took my order was super kind, informative, and gave great suggestions. I ended up going with the french toast which was amazing !!! I also was craving grits so I went with the cheesy grits & they were great. I did add salt & pepper to them but I think that was just more of a personal choice lol. I had the awesome pleasure of dining at the new River Bend location in NW Charlotte on Monday for brunch and the food and service was so great that I came back for brunch and the experience was even more remarkable. This prices are very affordable and the quality of food will make you think your grandpa picked it from the garden and grandma added all her love while whipping it up in the Kitchen. The manager and wait staff even up sold me on a few items and I ended up leaving with a to go order. You have to try the Million Dollar Bacon and if you add a side of fresh sliced tomatoes. Eat them together and your mouth will say, "Welcome the the real South" and your belly will say "thank you...more please". And the freshly made nutritious fruit drinks are out of this world and pack a delicious punch that will make you go on a juice diet...So I just want to welcome First Watch to the Oakdale Community and thank them for bringing such upscale, quality dinning to North West Charlotte! Entering the restaurant it was evident that there would be a wait; because of the people waiting outside & the busy inside. The restaurant wasn't hectic though, which was nice, it felt like everything was under control. The host upfront was very helpful & visibly trying his best. (thank u!) We were sat after about 30 minutes. Our table was very clean & so was the entire restaurant (including the bathrooms which is a + in my book). Our waitress was very kind & didn't seem like she was in a rush even though she was busy which was very nice. PLEASE TRY THE PURPLE HAZE DRINK, so so good. Our food came out fairly quickly & it was delicioussss!! I got the broccoli cheddar soup & a sandwich & another time it was a gf avocado toast w scrambled eggs. The interior was beautiful & every detail seemed to be thought of. I love this location, it's definitely my favorite. The management team is very thoughtful & both waitresses i've had were amazing!!! There is nothing worse than a completely average restaurant that dresses itself up as "elevated". This place is literally just greenwashed panera bread. It was giving airport. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and somehow I couldn't find anything I wanted on the menu. It was just overly complicated and severely lacking in a la carte offerings. The quality was as expected. My food came out cold, my potatoes were undercooked, and my French toast was basically just two slices of bread. I will choose any diner every time over a place like this. I implore you to find a mom and pop diner instead and skip this cookie cutter mess. read more

Service- We used the check in or wait list option when arriving to the restaurant. The app told us a 10-20 minute wait time. People were walking in getting seated . We remained in the car, finally I decided to go in-- they treated me as a walk in and begin to seat me immediately. I advised I was on the wait list and we were waiting for 40 minutes-- no apology- just said oh we can only seat when the program tells us to-- what ?!? Food - Waited about 10 minutes to be greeted-- another 8 for drinks and food came out pretty fast. We ordered the seasonal strawberry french toast it was cold-warm. French toast or pancakes are not good when they are cold. We ordered the farm house tacos we were brought tostados. The waiter said he was new and didn't know the menu and attempted to blame me for him not knowing the difference between a tostado and a taco. finally the tacos came. Pretty good! We enjoyed them but because of our dining experience rushed to eat them and was ready to go. The table wasn't clean and neither was the floor-- it was a busy sunday so I tried to ignore some of the inconsistencies-- we won't be returning . Do not order through Uber eats you will be waiting 2 hours for your food. First time I ordered everything was amazing and hot ive ​ordered 3 times since then every time the food sits there for almost an hour. Because of a name issue in their system I don't have this issue with any other restaurants only them! By the time anything gets to you it will be cold and soggy.. that defeats the purpose of fresh food. Order pickup and get it yourself I don't drive for health reasons so this sucks for me. read more
