I love having a carafe of coffee set on the for my convenience. My choice for breakfast was the Trifecta which included one meat, a huge pancake and 2 eggs. I added the sourdough toast. Huge pancake although a touch overdone. For about $10 each, my hubs and kid each got one pancake and one Belgian waffle. Again, huge portions but in the end, they both agreed for that price they wished it included a choice of meat and or home fries. The pancakes were burnt and wouldn't have any flavor at all if it wasn't for the syrup the gravy on the biscuit had so much pepper it burned in the back of our throats service is the kind where they walk up to your table. I did a pickup on a busy Sunday morning and was super happy with what I got! I work nearby so I ordered ahead and picked up breakfast on the way. For breakfast, I had a meal with over medium eggs, bacon, and a Belgian waffle. The bacon was delicious and had something so beautiful going on (was that caramelization on the regular bacon?!) that I was glad I saved a piece for later! Eggs were cooked to spec and Belgian waffle was big, beautiful, and filling as expected. I appreciated that eggs and bacon were in one container, while the waffle was in another. My shift is kinda long so I ordered a meal for later, which was breakfast tacos. I left it in the bag, uneaten and many colleagues saw the bag and the meal, eliciting much jealousy. "Whose tacos are those?!" and "Are those your tacos in the back?" were common themes throughout the day. The end of my shift came and I ate those babies cold. I know they were amazing hot, but they were still a treat when cold. The tortillas had to have been crunchy when made, but again, as a cold meal there was no crunch and I did not mind at all! I came in here on a Friday afternoon close to 1pm, they close at 2:30, it was packed and we were seated quickly. Our waiter was friendly and efficient coming to talk to us. Our order came fast, the French toast was delicious, though the coffee is too strong for my liking. The French toast could have been a little hotter and the bread was a bit too stale for me. I came in for lunch was sat at the counter and there were 3 servers on the other side of the counter that was chatting away without paying attention to the customer, was literally less than 5 away, i had to wave my hand and get their attention to put my order in after waiting almost 15 minutes for some attention this particular branch was the one in norfolk. We stopped in for a late breakfast, here is my 2 cents: THE BAD - Eggs Benedict ( traditional) eggs raw, I like my yolks runny and my egg white firm. The hollandaise sauce too much lemon and too sour. The coffee was too acidic for my taste. Note: To be fair I have yet to eat good eggs Benedict in any diner/cafe. Food is great every time we visit. Super long waits on the weekend obviously since brunch is their thing. We had a party of 6 and were told a pretty long wait even though we called ahead of time to put our name down. Luckily they do offer some hightop seating that is a 1st come 1st serve and were were able to snag seats there. The food was fresh and hot. We decided to give this chain a try after seeing this at a couple of other locations during our travels. We were immediately seated after checking in. We can see that the restaurant is medium in size and is very bright inside. The ceiling has little bright lights in the center, with plushy green booths directly underneath. There are also booths lining the sides of the restaurant as well. Large windows take up most of the walls' spaces and the spaces that aren't covered by a window have decorative pieces. The walls are pea green, gray-and-light-gray-striped, and pale blue. Towards the back of the restaurant is where the kitchen is and it's actually visible from the dining area. However, it is mostly covered by two shelves that have skillets hanging over them. The washroom is to the right of the shelves. Nadia was our server. Daughter had Shrimp with Grits from the Joys Of Spring menu. It's sautéed Cajun shrimp and andouille sausage cooked Low country style with chicken stock, house roasted tomatoes, onions, green bell peppers and scallions atop cheddar parmesan cheese grits. She thought it was pretty good, but it was a bit watery for her taste. The andouille sausages tasted amazing with the grits and the bell peppers were a wonderful touch as well. The entree came with artisan ciabatta toast. We were missing the ciabatta toast, so we had to ask Nadia for it. Hubs thought that the toast was disappointing . It was barely warm and it was seasoned with cajun spices or paprika. Kinda weird, if you ask me. Hubs had the French Toast which is a custard-dipped, thick cut brioche bread with whipped butter, powdered cinnamon sugar and warm mixed berry compote. He thought his French toast was good. He didn't order anything spectacular but it hit the spot. It's been a long time since he's had french toast. His only beef was that the coffee was WEAK. I thought the coffee was disappointing. It was a very, very light roast. It tasted like watered down coffee. Lastly, I ordered the Tri-Fecta which was two eggs over easy with a Belgian waffle along with bacon. I ordered bacon extra crispy and it wasn't crispy. I was disappointed with that because I couldn't chew it. The Belgian waffle appeared and tasted slightly pale. It tasted slightly undercooked but the eggs were good. Service was good and prompt. Nadia stopped by a couple of times to make sure that everything was going good. What I really liked about this place was that the restaurant's website actually had nutritional information for each item. Daughter is T1D and needs to be able to count her carbs before giving herself insulin. We were able to eat here with without worrying whether or not she gave herself enough insulin. I have came to first watch since the day they opened their doors. It has been a while so we decided to go. I checked in over the app. I live 35 minutes from there. I get there and go to check in and they removed me off the list. They give you 15 minutes to get to the place then 2 minutes warning to check in then they remove u. This system is not a good design I was turned off by the lady with glasses checking people in. She's rude and arrogant. She used her authority to embarrass me by answering me in a tone. I asked her if I had to check in again. She answered YUP. WOW. She walks a way. I rechecked in she looks up from her ipad and says my name. No questions of my preference like she asked everyone. Now, if you order the Benedict with a side of lox, the lox is very reasonable, however, ordering it with anything else, and expect to pay. I don't get that?? Today I had brunch at First Watch. This was my second time trying FW and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. My daughter & I started off by sharing the Million dollar bacon. Been wanting to try it since my first visit to FW. I absolutely love thick bacon cuts and the Million Dollar bacon had a nice sticky maple glaze and a nice hint of spice. I had the Tri-Fecta breakfast, Bob's Red Mill Buttered Grits, and my daughter had the Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos. My Tri-Fecta breakfast included their Belgian waffle, omelette style eggs and chicken sausage. I asked for my eggs to include onions and peppers and they completely forgot to include it. The Bob's Red Mill Buttered Grits were clumpy but still good. My daughter enjoyed her Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos. She didn't care for the black beans as she mentioned they were under seasoned. We both ordered the Tropical Sunset drink. We both enjoyed this refreshing drink. Not overly sweet, just right. Our waitress took great care of us and was attentive. There was a 30 min wait but that's not unusual for the weekend. I really enjoyed FW and besides the clumpy grits and them forgetting to add my onions and pepper to my egg omelette, I'd give them an 8 out of 10. I'll definitely return. Next time I'd like to try the avocado toast. If you haven't tried FW, I should you trying them out for your next brunch/lunch date. I highly recommend their Belgian waffle. I have been to a few first watch, breakfast and brunch spots before so I am not new to the chain. This was my first time at this location however. My coworker and I decided to go get brunch after one of our meetings. This location is in a busy area with other restaurants and also shopping surrounding. The place was clean and they had plenty of people to working which is always a great sign to me. We were seated immediately and our waitress attended to us immediately. We order water and took a moment to look over the menu. I decided to go with the salmon frittata, which came with a side of greens and I also ordered grits and coffee. My coworker Christina ordered a special. I think it was some kind of steak hash with eggs. Our waitress brought out my coffee and her orange juice very quickly. I noticed food was coming out left and right and it shouldn't take too long for ours. I was right!! We sat chatting for a little and next thing I know our food is being served. It all looked very tasty and the presentation was nothing fancy but clean. My dish was very good. The salmon frittata was delicious, the greens on the side were good once I added a little more dressing and the buttery grits were great as well with a little pepper and salt. Christina said her dish was delicious and she was very satisfied. I'm glad we choose to come here, our server was fantastic and attentive and the food was all great. Just visited this location on Father's Day. It was very busy but the restaurant kept up with providing great service and made-to-order food. Hint: Download their app and you can request your spot in their "Wait In Line." Best invention for sure! Parking can be tricky and don't be afraid to park across the street at Wegmans if you don't mind crossing traffic. We went for brunch and very much enjoyed our meals. Food: The million dollar bacon was the winner and definitely carried the meal. Delicious! However my eggs benedict was just off... it was so lemon-y or just sour in general, I couldn't figure out what was causing it! I like creamy and savory, perhaps a tinge sweet, so that was a bummer for me.. and the eggs weren't dippy (my favorite part!!!!)! The French Toast was average, not bad, just not amazing. First Watch, Last Time! Saw this place while in the area and wanted to try it. Today is my birthday so my family took me here for brunch. I would if been better off at a Dunkin Donuts drive thru. For starters we ordered our drinks. I got coffee and had to wait over 10mins for creamer needing a new coffee by the time the waitress returned with the creamer. Next on to our food order. My oldest ordered the healthy Turkey omelet minus the Turkey because she doesn't eat meat. It arrived with the Turkey so we sent it back. The waitress asked them to remake it. Instead of remaking it the cook on duty simply reopened the omelet and removed SOME of the Turkey. So it came back to the table cold, with a spilt in the middle and small pieces of meat left in it. We told the waitress and she said she told them to remake it so she was going to tell her manager. A moment goes by and we don't see our waitress so we call another staff member over asking for the manager or our waitress back. The waitress comes back and we tell her our daughter doesn't want it. I mean who wants someone to make you anything else after doing something so disrespectful and unsanitary to your food? The waitress was obviously frustrated with us because she said she asked them to make it again already......not our problem and it could of been resolved with out doing that by simply asking the customer what they wanted before hand. She did ask if we wanted anything else afterwards but again why would we. After that she never came back to check on drinks or anything. When she did come back we were done eating and just ready to leave. The place wasn't busy so I don't really get the lack of attentiveness but it was what it was. Now let's get to the actual taste of the food. Whoever their chef was today can not cook. My scrambled eggs were hard and flavorless, my waffle was soggy and the potatoes were hard and undercooked though seasoned well enough. The grits were meh, the pancakes were meh as well. The watermelon sunrise drink or whatever you call it tasted like lime juice and the drippings of a bowl of watermelon. Very bland and bitter. The coffee was meh as well. I've eaten at a lot of places and the majority of the time when a manager is made aware of the food or service not being good they come and check on the table. However not here. I had never heard of First Watch until my friend recommended it to us for a brunch. When I heard it was a brunch place all I could think about was just, "here's another Green Eggs or Turning Point." By the end of the meal I was walking out saying that First Watch is better than Green Eggs is better than Turning Point if you know what I mean. I didn't have many high expectation for this place but from the get-go you are welcomed with, I guess I'll call it, a new-age rustic farm-to-table vibe from the weathered-looking paint-jobs to the stable-looking booths. We were served rather quickly after ordering as well! Our table ordered the Chickichanga, Classic Benedict, and the Farmhouse Hash. Overall these dishes were great and the serving sizes were deceptively large. My favorite was the Chickichanga which is like a large breakfast burrito of sorts packed with chicken and chorizo as well as avocados and monterey jack cheese -- so yummy. While I was disappointed that they don't offer Huevos Ranchero's the Chickichanga did not have me looking back with any regrets. Next time I will try breakfast. We started off with the million dollar bacon, which came out the same time as our entrees. I would have preferred it come out first, but that's okay. I've visited a First Watch in Virginia and fell in love with the Million Dollar Bacon. Imagine my excitement when I saw that notification on Yelp that they opened a location in Cherry Hill!!? Hoosband and I went to visit that next day which was last weekend. Apparently everyone else in town was anxious to try this place because the 15 minute wait was actually about 25, but I promise they did not disappoint (as expected). This was my first time coming here, we came on a Sunday around 12:30 and waited about an hour even with the Yelp check in, this was expected since it is a weekend. The front waiting area is small so everyone kind smushed together, there was a refreshment stand with water and coffee which was a nice touch. The food was good. I do notice the portion sizes are much smaller compared to their competitors just right down the road (turning point) I like how they offer a lot of variations to different diets. I'm gluten free and they catered to it well! Our waitress was super nice. The kale juice they had was delicious. I just wish that they gave you a tad bit more food? I had an egg white omelette and it came with a side a fruit, one piece of my gluten free toast (extra) and some salsa. I wasn't really satisfied at the end of my meal.
