Our recent brunch here was really good! My daughter ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich and an iced coffee for herself and a scrambled egg for her baby. I ordered the Million Dollar breakfast sandwich (I can't remember the exact name but million dollar is in the name). I also ordered some hot tea. We also ordered a sharable side of Million Dollar Potatoes. They were delicious! The sandwich has this amazing bacon on it that made it taste so good! I don't usually order bacon or anything with bacon. I don't absolutely hate bacon but I'm not a big fan. My daughter hates it. And she's the one that told me to order it. She said it's that good. She was right. We didn't leave a drop of food behind. The service was quick and friendly. We'll be back and are looking forward to the new location to be built in Eastgate. read more

We go to your place about once a month. We find you are not constant in your cooking. I ask for my eggs to be over easy. I'm tired of sending it back. This last time on my husband's birthday, they were way over done too hard. Didn't like them ate them anyway. My husband's waffle and sausage were cool. Not a happy camper. Second. I have a friend that took a neighbor to your place for brunch. My friend doesn't' get out much. She took her neighbor to lunch. Her friend got the car and she treated and went to the cashier. It was busy. the cashier told her that will be 60 plus tip. My friend tried to tell her it can't be that. There is just two of us. The cashier said, that's it. She tried again. No such luck. First, I love First Watch - but, not this time. The door/host setup is very cramped and is chaotic at best. The restaurant was FREEZING, both the hostess and our server commented on the temperature and recommended going back to the car to grab jackets, unprompted. We mentioned the temperature to the manager as we checked out and he told us that it had to be cold so that the floor woudn't get wet - sounds like something that should be fixed. As for the food, everything came out cold (not surprisingly) and wasn't plate as well as normal. I would think it was all thrown together then rushed out, but instead it seems like it was thrown together and sat in the window for a considerable amount of time. Also, tried the new blueberry cornbread - underwhelming - minimal blueberries...and cold. Needless to say, this isn't a First Watch we will return to, hopefully they can turn things around. read more

I've been to 2 First Watch locations for breakfast including this one. Had not been in a few years because the eggs were always tastless and the overall breakfast was just not great. Decided to give it another chance. The decor had changed to farmhouse vibe which I think was an improvement. The staff was nice. Our server was really sweet and personable. BUT.....The scrambled eggs were dry, rubbery and over done. The over-easy eggs were soupy, underdone and tastless. The ham and guyere omelet was just so bland, and the potatos were underdone and crunchy. Breakfast is not cheap anymore so I would not settle for this place. read more

Came back for a to 2nd visit after the first impressive visit 2 weeks ago. Came to realize that the cooking can be inconsistent. Same order of classic egg Benedict but this time the eggs were over poached, closed to hard boiled. Told the staff, she apologized and I don't think our feedback was passed back to the cooks. It was unpleasant and we left the egg in the I'm plate. I saw her take it back to clear without showing the over poached eggs to the cooks. That's was a bummer. Compared to our first visit, service is not as good. Lack of attention. We remembered how good the first staff was that I over tipped her. This one is so so. Not in sure now if I'm we would go back to this first to watch. We might be try a different one the next time. Also the women's bathroom was out of paper to dry wet hands, which also means no one is to really checking out cleaning the bathrooms regularly. read more

When you order any sort of "hash" dish, just make sure you read the description. I was expecting something akin to corned beef hash but got something that was totally different. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash and I suppose I didn't read the description well enough. It didn't taste bad, but I was disappointed because it wasn't like any 'hash' I was expecting. The prices (along with every other restaurant in the area) are crazy for what you get. While I won't say it's a bad place to eat, I just know I won't be back. read more

As out of town visitors we were happy to find this place especially when there were ample vegetarian and healthy options in addition to comfort foods. I've slept on First Watch for years (pun kinda intended). Such a good breakfast option in Anderson. Sunday morning after Christmas, mostly empty around 8 but folks started streaming in closer to 9. Our waiter was kind, thorough, wore a mask through our entire visit (sometimes I see folks pull theirs down in the back). Choc Chip pancake and cheesy grits are arguably my favorite combo. I love the salty, smoky cheese on the grits. Pancakes are made semi-sweet, I can never eat more than half of one pancake. Salty plus sweet, yum. Coffee is great, aesthetic is farmhouse pleasing. First time visiting a First Watch so I was really looking forward to it, as many friends have recommended it. We put our names on the waitlist in advance so once we arrived and checked in at the host stand, our wait was minimal. We were seated quickly and our server came over soon after. We placed our food orders when she returned with our drinks and that was the last time she stopped by during our visit (except to bring the bill.) There was an extended wait for our food to arrive, but admittedly the restaurant was rather busy. Once the food finally arrived, it looked great and tasted pretty good. I was disappointed after waiting for so long that my biscuits and gravy were only lukewarm. I also wanted to ask our server for black pepper, hot sauce and more coffee, but she never came back to check on us until it was time to drop the bill off. I LOVE First Watch and try to make it here every time I'm home. The Anderson location is the one I typically go to. The wait usually isn't long during the week, but can get long on the weekend so make sure you plan ahead. The service can vary, but I've never had a bad experience. The real reason why I frequent First Watch is for the food. The food: GREAT - I've honestly never had something I don't like. I've had the chicken salad sandwich, the chicken pesto quinoa, kale tonic, the pancakes, etc. Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and delicious! I wish they were open for dinner too because I would go morning, noon, and evening. I want one of these in Chicago! You usually get a small bottle of bubbles champagne and a cup of orange juice. This time I got the bottom half of the bubble champagne. If I wasn't with my husband I wouldn't have drank it. Server was more interested in attending to her other tables than making sure we had drinks, food or anything else we needed. The only exception was the guy she obviously knew who sat down by himself. Finally we ate breakfast where we live. First watch has a large selection of food to choose from. We went for breakfast this time and I was very pleased with the hash and basted eggs. My wife had the works omelette with potatoes and the portions are large so we both shared. The coffee was awesome, had to many cups. They have sugar cane for sweetener. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The dining area is very large and open. I will return for lunch next time we loved are breakfast. One complaint is I hate gnats flying around my food. read more

My last visit was so great, this location deserves a bump up to 5 stars! I came in to claim my free birthday meal that you receive yearly if you sign up for their email rewards club! I reserved a spot online via Yelp so that my table was ready when I arrived. I was seated almost immediately and my wonderful waitress, Felicia, came right over. This lady is the sunshine of this entire restaurant. She is genuine, outgoing, sweet and great at her job! She makes you feel like you are eating at a local hometown diner where everyone knows your name. They had a seasonal blueberry juice that I asked her opinion about and she was nice enough to bring me over a sample. It was ok, but I defaulted to my favorite, the morning meditation. It is the perfect blend of sweet and tart with a zing of ginger. It is very refreshing. For my meal I ordered my long standing favorite, the chickichanga... a breakfast take on the mexican chimichanga dish. It comes with a side of potatoes and fruit. All portions were generous, hot, and flavorful. I couldn't resist a side of the million dollar bacon.. which is seriously crack. It is sweet yet spicy and I could eat myself to death on it. Very addictive. At the end of my meal I briefly spoke with the manager who was also nice. The atmosphere here is bright and has a farmhouse decor style to it. I had a Traditional Breakfast..scrambled eggs, chicken sausage patties, homemade bread with a really nice jam along with potatoes. All good especially the bread which was delicious. A slight complaint on the potatoes. Kind of ordinary. My wife had the "perfect" poached egg with her traditional breakfast. Rare! Loved the bread as well. All in all a good experience. Easy parking. Our wait person totally blew us off ... 20 minutes after receiving our pancakes and waffle we were still waiting for syrup and drinks. She never returned to our table and other staff brought our bill without an apology from anyone. The cashier didn't even ask about our meal at checkout. Not sure if/when I will return.
