First, I love First Watch - but, not this time. The door/host setup is very cramped and is chaotic at best. The restaurant was FREEZING, both the hostess and our server commented on the temperature and recommended going back to the car to grab jackets, unprompted. We mentioned the temperature to the manager as we checked out and he told us that it had to be cold so that the floor woudn't get wet - sounds like something that should be fixed. As for the food, everything came out cold (not surprisingly) and wasn't plate as well as normal. I would think it was all thrown together then rushed out, but instead it seems like it was thrown together and sat in the window for a considerable amount of time. Also, tried the new blueberry cornbread - underwhelming - minimal blueberries...and cold. Needless to say, this isn't a First Watch we will return to, hopefully they can turn things around.

Came back for a to 2nd visit after the first impressive visit 2 weeks ago. Came to realize that the cooking can be inconsistent. Same order of classic egg Benedict but this time the eggs were over poached, closed to hard boiled. Told the staff, she apologized and I don't think our feedback was passed back to the cooks. It was unpleasant and we left the egg in the I'm plate. I saw her take it back to clear without showing the over poached eggs to the cooks. That's was a bummer. Compared to our first visit, service is not as good. Lack of attention. We remembered how good the first staff was that I over tipped her. This one is so so. Not in sure now if I'm we would go back to this first to watch. We might be try a different one the next time. Also the women's bathroom was out of paper to dry wet hands, which also means no one is to really checking out cleaning the bathrooms regularly.

First Watch never disappoints. Get here early because it is a favorite for breakfast. Food is always fresh and service is wonderful. The restaurant has a farmhouse vibe which goes along with the farm fresh food Can't beat it in my book

Winter menu...all is golden millions, I tried cinnamon rolls. It was great with a fun gold on top. Food is always good my fav is chicken quinoa bowl. Service is great. The place is clean and tables moves quick so they will get your table soon even on their busy day.

First watch is a pleasant brunch spot, perfect for families. As out of town visitors we were happy to find this place especially when there were ample vegetarian and healthy options in addition to comfort foods. I got the Belgian waffle one day and cinnamon chip pancake the next day and both were delicious. I also recommend the side of roasted potatoes!

I've slept on First Watch for years (pun kinda intended). Such a good breakfast option in Anderson. Sunday morning after Christmas, mostly empty around 8 but folks started streaming in closer to 9. Our waiter was kind, thorough, wore a mask through our entire visit (sometimes I see folks pull theirs down in the back). Choc Chip pancake and cheesy grits are arguably my favorite combo. I love the salty, smoky cheese on the grits. Pancakes are made semi-sweet, I can never eat more than half of one pancake. Salty plus sweet, yum. Coffee is great, aesthetic is farmhouse pleasing. Highly recommend.

First time visiting a First Watch so I was really looking forward to it, as many friends have recommended it. We put our names on the waitlist in advance so once we arrived and checked in at the host stand, our wait was minimal. We were seated quickly and our server came over soon after. We placed our food orders when she returned with our drinks and that was the last time she stopped by during our visit (except to bring the bill.) There was an extended wait for our food to arrive, but admittedly the restaurant was rather busy. Once the food finally arrived, it looked great and tasted pretty good. I was disappointed after waiting for so long that my biscuits and gravy were only lukewarm. I also wanted to ask our server for black pepper, hot sauce and more coffee, but she never came back to check on us until it was time to drop the bill off. I would definitely give this restaurant another try in the future.

I was here a couple of weeks ago, in town on work, and coming in for lunch because this place was within working distance of the office I was visiting. I love Irish bars, and regularly go to the one nearest me, so I was hoping for a good experience. As I said, the ambiance and decor was at least pretty good, and the food I had was a mushroom Swiss burger which was okay but not exceptional. The problem was the really bad service. I was there at midday for lunch, there were a couple of folks drinking at the bar, and one other table of people seated at around the same time I was. They took more than 5 minutes to simply come and take my drink order. . .and the server had an attitude when I let him know I wasn't there to drink beer. He started by rattling off beer options, and when I asked what soft drinks they had, he told me the soft drinks they had. . .then, dripping with sarcasm, he says "or we could fix you a Shirley Temple" with a really nasty attitude. I ordered my beverage, and when he came back almost 10 minutes later (!) with my drink, I place my food order, which he takes without comment. My food takes over 30 minutes to come out, and he never came back once to check on me, refill my drink or generally do anything. Once I politely asked him about soft drinks, making it clear I wasn't there for beer, it's like he checked out of thinking he had to deal with me. Things were slow before then, but got worse after that. It's not like the place was crowded and he had a lot of tables to deal with. He brought the check back, and he was actually prompt in taking my money for the check. I left, and pretty much had used up my entire lunch hour despite only being right across the street from my office the whole time.

Both were friendly & acknowledged the birthday girl in our party. Atmosphere is great. You could comfortably walk in wearing jeans or come dressed up. Neither would be over or under dressed. The menu has juuuust the right amount of options, which is great! Heather was our waitress & while she was kind, her service skills were lacking. Granted we weren't at a Michelin Star Restaurant, but we also weren't at a dive bar. There was an endless amount of awkward reaching through, over & around when refilling drinks. There were a couple of instances where she actually touched our shoulders to nudge us to the side so she could reach through. Totally not okay during service at a restaurant nicer than a dive bar. We ordered the cheese sticks starter which were so yummy! Highly recommend! A couple of us ordered the Cesar side salad & were highly disappointed. The dressing tasted like it was mayonnaise heavy & then watered down by lettuce that wasn't dried after being rinsed. Even adding tons of extra pepper didn't help. The lettuce also tasted like it has been too wet for too long. The lobster mac was ordered in the group & it was tasty but soooo greasy. So, order with caution. We had the Black N Bleu salad in the group & that was good. The Atlantic Salmon was another dinner ordered & the crust seasoning was delicious! Sadly, the salmon was a bit overdone. It does come with a lobster cream sauce, which confused me. It was only so so & I definitely skipped it entirely. The steamed broccoli was done to perfection though. Not soggy & not too crunchy. We also had the 12oz ribeye & that was great! Flavorful, cooked perfectly! I will add though, that the steak knives need an upgrade. I really wanted to love this place, but we won't return on our next trip to Newport/Cincinnati.

Normally, I find hotel food is just okay and nothing special, but Coppin's was a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, and our equally pleasant server quickly brought menus and asked what we would like to drink. When it was my turn, I happily ordered Coppin's Old Fashioned. I was the odd man out because everyone else ordered the Spring Manhattan. Judging by how quickly everyone's drinks disappeared, I'd say they were all very tasty. I was a little unsure about mine at first, so to make sure the quality and taste were consistent, I ordered a second, and it definitely was not a mistake. I ordered the B+G biscuits (which are made by hand according to server in the hotel) and gravy with an extra egg. Others at the table chose a variety of dishes, including the CVG, Cobb Salad, Bagel and Lox, and several other selections. Based on the clean plates all around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. My wife ordered a sample of banana bread, and I was fortunate enough to snag a small bite, it was excellent. After we had all finished, everyone agreed that my niece had made an excellent choice for her graduation celebration brunch. As my wife and I made our way back to Louisville, we both commented that we would definitely return the next time we were in Covington.

Going back and forth on stars for this one. Me and around 30 of my coworkers came into town for a…read moretwo day workshop and they got us a room block at this hotel. I ended up being in the North Building and cracked up when I walked into my room and saw I was in one of the Lightwell Lofts (a few of us ended up in them by chance, guess they included them in our room block lol). While the room was super cool and beautiful, there was a lot to be desired. After taking a million photos of the gorgeous room, I quickly realized a major flaw - the bedroom is upstairs, the bathroom is downstairs, and the staircase between the two is a crazy narrow spiral staircase. As someone that gets up to pee in the middle of the night, having to traverse the spiral stairs was terrifying lol. One of my coworkers actually swapped with someone who had a "normal" room because he was worried about falling down the stairs. My downstairs tv wouldn't turn on. I fiddled with the remote a bit, tried rearranging the batteries, but couldn't turn it on. I used the ipad in the room to put in a maintenance request, but no one came. I figured I would just let the front desk know when I headed out to dinner that night. Hours later, the front desk calls me to see if anyone had come to fix the tv - they hadn't. The girl was very nice and apologetic, she said I sent the request in the middle of a shift change and someone had accidentally marked it as complete. So she said someone would be right up, and he did come up. Handed me a handwritten note and a $25 coupon for Coppin's which was totally unexpected and a very nice gesture. Turned out, he knew exactly what the problem was - he said the remote was broken and he was supposed to swap it out but forgot. Gave me a new remote and all was good. He also mentioned there is a second remote upstairs for that tv. After he left, I went to look for it - there was no second remote. We held our meetings in the Scheper Room, which was also beautiful. The room was absolutely freezing the first day and I'm someone that prefers it a touch colder and was uncomfortable. We had to get them to update the thermostat and then in the afternoon it was way too hot. We had food brought in from the hotel and it was all fine, nothing super memorable. There was soup at lunch but the sign didn't even say what it was - just "chef's choice." The Italian hoagies were way too big and needed to be cut in half, I couldn't even finish half of one. The salad with fruit/pecans/etc was my favorite though. They had the completely wrong password on the tables for the Wifi but thankfully we figured it out quickly that we just had to use the room password. The second day for breakfast, there was yogurt on the menu and even on the sign with all the food - but there was no yogurt. Some of my coworkers were specifically asking for yogurt so we had to request it directly because it was included and paid for. Box lunches to take to go on the second day which were fine, I had the chicken caesar salad wrap. Housekeeping didn't come to service my room until 5pm when I was in there getting ready for dinner, so I was not able to get the room serviced. Just asked them for some more coffee. My conditioner in the shower was empty but I didn't bother reporting it after the tv issue and I had my own conditioner with me, so used that. The lotion at the sink was so thick that I could not get it out of the bottle at all, I had to use q-tips to get it out (it was nice quality, just kinda useless if you can't get it out of the bottle lol). Great local offerings on the mini bar and in the fridge. My coworkers and I got a kick out of the "intimacy kits" because we were on a business trip haha. The Magic 8 ball was fun, I loved the conversation cards even though I just read a few of them to myself haha. Even with the bedroom upstairs, it was nice to have the big double closet in the bathroom hallway so I really was just in the loft to sleep and kept all my stuff downstairs. The location is great, lots of fun stuff right nearby. The courtyard is lovely. I would say this is a solid 3.5 stars but since we can't give half stars, I'll give it a 4 because the staff was overall very nice and quickly fixed any issues, just a little annoying that we had any issues at all.
