I only gave this review a 3 is because of how cold our food was. Last night we ordered for curbside pickup on the Perkins app. The order said it would be ready at 8:13pm. We got there at 7:48, super early. So we just sat out in the car patiently waiting. 8:13pm came and went. We figured okay maybe they are busy, even though there were only 1 car in the lot. At 8:30pm, still no food. We decided to go inside and see how much longer it would be. They said that it had been ready for quite sometime. The food was completely cold by the time we got home. It was barely warm when we picked it up. The desserts were delicious and had the food been even warm it would have been much better. Being cold left the grilled cheese with thick cheese and the fries limp. read more

The kids love Perkins and I like it as well. It's basically a neighborhood diner that we frequent mostly for breakfast meals. I have had a few dinner items including the salmon, which was pretty good. They also have a pretty decent bakery with good prices. Service is always excellent. read more

Brought a friend who was our driver after my husband had a colonoscopy today. Our normal routine has been to come to Perkins after his procedures in the past. Waited for at least 15 minutes before our waitress came to take our drink order at which time we also gave her our food order​. Our drinks arrived in a timely fashion. I watched at least one table seated after us, ordered after us and SERVED BEFORE US! Very aggravating since we brought a friend who had not been there before. Not sure we'll be back even though it's 10 minutes from our house. We waited at least 5+ minutes at checkout. Had to ask a server to get someone to cash us out. ONLY THEN WERE WE RUDELY INFORMED THERE WERE ONLY TWO COOKS IN THE BACK. Had we been informed of that earlier my comment might be more gracious. You can do better but I may never know!​ read more

Decided to go here because we got a reusable 20% off coupon in the mail and, of course, love Perkins! It wasn't super busy but I think they were a little short staffed. We were greater quickly and brought to our table but things slowed down a bit from there. Understandable in these times. Server took our drink orders. The hot chocolate was very rich! Yumm! Once our food order went in it took quite a while to come out. With some people getting their food before ours. But we were understanding. When it did come out you could tell that it had been sitting in the heat lamp a while. The turkey was a bit hard around the edges and the pancakes were a little rubbery. However, it wasn't terrible tasting by any means. I enjoyed my turkey dinner as I always do! Just could have been a little more fresh (thus the docked star) The place was clean and the staff was friendly! Will, of course, visit again! I've always liked omelets from Perkins, with mushroom and cheddar my favorite. I've Door Dashed breakfast a couple times recently, always getting the omelet. Breakfast is a good choice here, with plenty of various egg dishes, pancakes and their own bakery on site. (I might have ordered fresh baked cookies added to my breakfast order as a snack for later.) Omelets come with choice of potato (I always get the hashbrowns, and Perkins' are the kind that have just enough grease and aren't burnt into crispy oblivion) and bread (which can be pancakes.) I ordered my husband sausage gravy and biscuits that even came with sausage patties to make biscuit sandwiches, as well as eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. Huge. He said it was the best sausage gravy and biscuits he'd ever had. I deducted a star for their bacon, which was a bit limp and fatty, and for some reason, the omelet was definitely smaller the last time I ordered. It would be nice, too, if their ordering app allowed for the option of egg whites as some other restaurants do. read more

The husband wasn't too keen on checking out this place for breakfast, but we headed there per my persuasion. It was a cold wintery morning, and they were fairly close. The food is okay. Perkins isn't top in line for providing high quality food. I had the Egg Benedict without bacon, and it was probably the most bland benedict dish I've ever had. For perhaps a couple of extra dollars, I would suggest checking out First Watch, which has some of the better breakfast offerings in town. At Perkins, you can probably find fairly quick service, reasonable prices, and hearty portions. And you can reasonably expect the food to be...okay. They'll do in a pinch, but there are several other places I'd prefer over them. read more

During the pandemic I was delivering food for a delivery service, and I picked up several orders from Perkins during this time. It was always busy so I thought I would give it a try but never got around to it. Fast forward to today and I went in for breakfast. All the employees I came in contact with were very friendly. Server was very nice. The food came out timely and was very hot and fresh. I was surprised how good the breakfast was. I ordered the Steak and Eggs with hash browns and toast. Also a side of bacon and a drink. Everything was hot and tasted really good. It was a little on the pricey side for breakfast but that was because of what I ordered, with tip I spent $25 but there were definitely less expensive options. I came here for a late lunch/early dinner (around 3pm) on Saturday afternoon. I was waiting on my car to be fixed and figured eating at a sit down restaurant would be time well spent. The restaurant was mostly quiet, not many patrons. Our waitress was kind and on time. My boyfriend and I both ordered the same meal - the turkey dinner. The waitress brought the food out in a timely manner. The food was hot and delicious. This is by far my favorite dish at Perkins! I come here explicitly for the turkey dinner. Come at me Frisch's! While we were eating, the restaurant manager came around and asked if everything was okay and to our liking. I thought this was great. Not many store managers walk around as much anymore - in my experience. Once we were finished and went to the counter to pay, the manager was there to check us out and asked again how was everything. There aren't many Perkins restaurants around, it's a treat to have one close by. When craving fluffy buttermilk pancakes with hot maple syrup this is your spot. The "new" Perkins blew me away! I have not been here in years but let me walk you through the highlights. The menu was high gloss, high-res photos of nearly everything they offered. It was so slick and so full of options it made me feel comfortable selecting anything. I took my family here for brunch and have no regrets. It's old school and a traditional diner/bakery plus it was close to my job! I ordered the breakfast burger which was a burger that came with a fried egg, bacon and hash browns on top of it. It was a great burger but with so many great burger places in town it did not make the top 5. It was perfect for the moment though. My wife and son both enjoyed their meals as well and we walked out with a bill of less that $30. That has not happened in a long time and I want to shout them out for still serving affordable food for small groups. My one issue was that all the serving staff wore all black and all seemed so dirty and disheveled with food and what I assumed to be flour all over their clothing. Friendly, neighborhood spot with the best pancakes in Cincinnati. Perkins has been a staple of the North College Hill community since I was a kid and I love to come visit when I'm back in town. I brought my dad here for birthday breakfast and we had a great time. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. I mentioned that we were celebrating my dad's birthday and our server said the he can pick any slice of pie to take home with him, which he was excited about. We sat down and she took our drink orders while we reviewed the menu. I ordered pancakes, eggs, and fruit and loved every bit of it. The pancakes are buttermilk and fluffy and oh so good. Our server checked on us a lot and made sure our cups were never empty. She brought my dad his pie before we left and wished him a happy birthday. Friendly, efficient, customer-sensitive spot. I was with a group of 25 people, heading for an evening musical performance at a nearby school (Mc Cauley) on Saturday night....we all stopped at Perkins on Hamilton Ave. for dinner prior to the performance. To best accommodate our group, we were seated in a special, intimate area and, because of our time constraints, considerable efforts were made to get us seated and served as quickly and efficiently as possible (special kudos to Jennifer who served all of us .....also, special thanks to the kitchen staff). We were in-and-out in a little over an hour, and went on to have a great evening, thanks in large part to Perkins' support and cooperation.
