It is convenient that the Seed'licious Bread used for the Avocado Toast is available as a whole bread loaf in the Grocery section of the First Watch menu. I also love the Million Dollar Bacon, Belgian waffle with fruit and butter, over medium eggs, fresh seasoned potatoes, Morning Meditation, and extra yummy Purple Haze items. Seasonally, they've offered an amazing The Trailblazer Bowl with turkey, soft sweet potatoes, arugula, eggs, and avocado that shouldn't be missed! Came here for Sunday brunch which was super busy. Waited about 45 mins for a table, which wasn't totally unexpected. Ordered off their seasonal menu & got the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito. It was absolutely fabulous & loaded with pork, potatoes, guacamole, cheese, pickled onions, pico de gallo & smothered in sauce. Definitely needed a knife & fork. My husband and I were in Columbus overnight and wanted to eat locally before hitting the road. Found this via Yelp and was not disappointed. The restaurant is clean and inviting. I've never been to a cleaner First Watch in my life. It looks like it opened yesterday, but apparently it's been here for some time. The gentleman at the front counter was incredibly warm and pleasant. I like First Watch, the breakfast menu options are great (from super health to decadent) And my favorite time to visit is usually in the fall, because my two favorite menu items appear...pumpkin spice pancakes, and the butternut squash soup. Today I opted for something a little healthier, market hash with avocado and onion and topped with two over medium eggs. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and it was a great meal! read more

Number one, thank you to First Watch for including a baby-changing station in their men's room, inside the stall to boot for extra privacy. Number two, thank you for playing two of my favorites, Neko Case and Of Monsters and Men, during cleanup time. I can hear the music in the restroom but not in the dining room, because a whole lotta people come for brunch on a Sunday morning. Anyway, crooning "The Needle Has Landed" to my daughter was a nice distraction for both of us. I've probably formed a lifelong association between that song and memories of diaper duty in a public restroom stall, but that is all right. It will make for a good story should I ever meet Ms Case. We were at the First Watch on a Thursday at about 1. I hadn't been there in 3 or 4 years, and the menu had changed. It is now VERY expensive, with very little on the menu for under $12 or $13. The food was very mediocre. I would have ordered two eggs and toast, but that wasn't on the menu. Two eggs, toast, sausage/bacon, and hash fries were on the menu for about $14. I didn't want all that high-calorie food. I ordered a half roast beef sandwich with half salad for a $12. Salad was HUGE and doused with dressing. Not very good. The half sandwich was not very good -- I could tell it was cheap meat. I left most of it. I was extremely disappointed and will not go back again. I rarely post YELP reviews, but this was so bad that I felt compelled to do so. read more

One of the best places I have been for a refreshing and delicious brunch. The menu includes all the details to every option that will make your mouth water just from reading it. Every dish included just the right amount of traditional breakfast/brunch option but with a unique twist by the restaurant which is always a bonus in my opinion. The meals purchased couldn't have been put together any more perfectly. Besides the food, everything else about the establishment was enjoyable as well, our server was friendly, they were very busy but our experience was in a timely fashion, and even though there was a wait to be seated - it was not crowded while multiple parties were also waiting for a table and they had refreshments available which was a very accommodating touch. read more

The wait was a little long but expected for a Sunday brunch. Always come here with the family, and we're about 14+ people every visit. The servers are so kind and respectful, even with a language barrier they're patient and understanding. They all memorized what they have on the menu and one of the guys recommended a BLTE on toasted sourdough bread and I haven't had a new favorite since. The menu is a bit overflown in my opinion but everything is unique and tasty. The coffee is always hot and tastes fresh I just wish they had more hazelnut ready in the creamer cups cause we love that stuff. Food is always delivered in a timely manner and when they get something wrong on our order we never complain and they're always helpful. All these guys go above and beyond. First Watch has a large selection of items ranging from healthy options to just plain comfort food, and for someone who likes to dabble in each category, I was impressed by both. Personally, my favorite thing to get at First Watch (and the best deal) is the Trifecta, where you get your choice of pancakes or waffles (always go with the waffles, trust me on this one), eggs any style, and breakfast meat. But my main tip is swapping out the breakfast meat for their famous seasoned home fries. It's the most important part of my breakfast experience. And no, I'm not being dramatic. Top all that off with giant jugs of water (for the brunch days when you need to replenish), strong coffee, friendly staff and clean atmosphere, I'd give First Watch a high placement on my list of "Best Places to Brunch". read more

I love to get a Sensational Skillet, of which there are several combinations, but I usually get the Veggie. First Watch in the Market District has a location that favors coming in from the Tremont Road location. Sure, it can be accessed from Northwest Blvd but not as easily seen (at all). Pal of mine and I got breakfast foods recently in the a.m. during a school day. He - egg spinach fritatta. Me - two eggs over easy, sausage, toast and fruit cup. FW was about 1/3 full and I didn't expect the speed of service out of the kitchen but it was SUPER. Food - hot n tasty. Coffee pot on the table for refills - Oh Yeah! Old school. All the foodies were really good. The front door MGR offered to store my umbrella while I ate - so decent a guy and a good call as it was raining. The store was ultra-clean, bright and good seating. FW was so good that my buddy and I have started a Breakfast Club that will be held every 2nd Saturday of the month. First Watch in March is the official kick-off. That does it. The hollandaise sauce was a weird shade of a grayish yellow, and had the texture of gravy. ...NOT APPEALING AT ALL. I could barely eat it. The whole dish looked old and thrown together, I hardly got any hash browns on the side. And what I did get was burnt. ....Service was very "lack-luster" MEH. Mmmmm First Watch. It's like Bob Evans but for people who don't want to be on the toilet the rest of the afternoon. I especially like this First Watch because of the staff. We almost always have the same waiter. It's a guy, I don't know his name, but he's super nice and funny; we always enjoy it when we're sat with him. This place has good food. I love their Key West Crepegg. It's light, but not too light, has avocados [YUMMMM] and bacon [DOUBLE YUMMMM]. You just can't go wrong. I have enjoyed everything I've ever had here. I appreciate that they make their own fresh salsa, it's a nice healthy addition to your potatoes. No, this place isn't as cool or as hip as several other places you'll find if you search for breakfast on Yelp. However, if you're looking for a reasonably priced, family-friendly place for a Saturday or Sunday morning breakfast in UA, this First Watch is hard to beat. Perhaps because we come here once or twice a month or because they're used to families with young children, the staff at this First Watch is very nice to my now 21 month old son. They're quick with a high chair and crayons and always try to engage him in a quick hello and chat rather than just trying to keep him calm or ignore him as happens at so many other restaurants. One of the waitstaff is even familiar with basic sign language which my son used before he started speaking. For their attitude towards kids alone, I am a huge fan of this First Watch. The food isn't avant-garde but it is tasty, filling and reasonably priced and they get the breakfast basics right. The wait staff is friendly and gentle, the color scheme is that of a dentists office with plenty of unoffensive doctor's office art on the walls. The menu is soft, quiet, and on occasion nutritious. The coffee was hot and fresh. I ordered a Far West Omelet after debating over several tempting choices of omelets. I noted the healthy options available, even in something not traditionally known to be healthy like pancakes. Nothing was greasy, and therefor I didn't feel weighted down after my meal. I seriously thought First Watch was one of those diners for the homeless when I drove by many times. Don't know why...the name? In Chicago they have those so once I got it in my head...well...anyway. Finally I figured out if was just a place to eat and went in. I don't mind eating alone at all and one thing that stands out here is they have tons of newspapers and reading materials for their customers to peruse while eating. Nice touch. Now to the food. I stopped here on a weekday morning shortly after they opened at 7am. Very few people were there so I was seated very quickly. I requested coffee. The waiter poured me a cup and left me a mini pot. Then he brought me water and a pitcher without asking. I didn't spend a lot of time on the menu since I knew exactly what I was craving. I ordered the Traditional Breakfast which is 2 eggs, your choice of meat (I chose ham), potatoes, and english muffins. First the coffee was really terrific which is sometimes hard to get in a restaurant. I used some flavored creamer (another bonus) and drank 2 cups right away. The eggs were cooked exactly as ordered. The ham was well seasoned and perfectly grilled. The potatoes were great. I added some pepper at the table for extra flavor, but overall I was pleased with what I ordered. The dining room was bright, open, and very clean. The service was great. My waiter was prompt and attentive. No hovering. The price was a bit on the high side for breakfast. I wouldn't eat here every day or even every week, but it is a nice place to splurge for breakfast. read more
