I was looking forward to having breakfast with family from out of town on this Sunday morning. I went on the website and added my party to the virtual line. Once I arrived with my family to the restaurant and checked in, the host informed me that he could not sit us until the whole party arrived (which I understand some restaurants have this requirement) but then I was told that he could not guarantee that my party would sit together. He would only sit us when we all arrived and at whatever table was available, meaning my entire family would be sat separately because a party of 8 was not guaranteed to sit together on a weekend. It made no sense to me to allow for an online check in of a party of 8 to then inform me upon arrival that we cannot all sit together. If that's going to be the case then only allow for parties of 4 or less to join the virtual line. I did not plan a Sunday breakfast with my family to then not sit with my family. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this location. Any large parties please be aware this restaurant may not be a good fit for you and your loved ones. read more

Saturday morning 9 am: really nice outside, covered open air area. From the male greeter at the front area to the waiting staff, Douglas- all were professional, and polite. Emu has so many great options, it's tough to choose. Had the avocado toast with over medium eggs. Great texture and flavor. Have ordered this at every First Watch I've been to. It's ALWAYS great. Obviously starting the day with dessert is a good idea, so ordered the bananas foster French toast. Won't likely order again only because it was too sweet and too heavy on the thick caramel. Still good taste, just not my style. Sangria was delicious. They do bring you the bill midway through your breakfast, but I confirmed it's not to push you out, just step 4 of their 5 service steps. I've been to this first watch two times and i still haven't had the chance to have a meal here. One time their terrace outside was closed and yesterday the food was taking close to an hour to come out. People were leaving at how slow things were moving. After the server told us about the delay, Chris was nice enough to give us togo coffee cups. I drove down to Pinecrest and ate in less than an hr. The regional manager was there and she seemed to have no control of things and looked like it was her first day ever working in a restaurant. I was so excited to see that First watch was opening in Doral! I've been to the location on NW 7th a couple of times and the food has always been great. Visited this new location during their first week open and everything was on point, from service, to food, to ambiance. This location is bigger than their NW 7th ST one and it has a nice outdoor area and bar. It also seems they have or are going to have brunch cocktails available, which is unique. For my meal, I had a Bacado omelette and shared the lemon ricotta pancakes with my mom. The portion was huge and I was able to take most of it back home to my husband (they were still delicious after being reheated). All of the food was excellent, it came out promptly, and service was friendly. Will be a frequent visitor here! read more

New Brunch place at Doral, restaurant looks good, food was...., wait time was horrible. We waited 1 hour and we had to be chasing servers to get attention. Service was not good at all. First they bring you the coffee pot for self serving coffee but no mugs available, had to stand up and get the mugs from the front entrance since no server was available or around. (We were sitting at the center of the restaurant) Then we waited literally 1 hour for 2 eggs and a yogurt. My coffee was already cold when it arrived and the ice melted on my OJ. Food gets there finally after feeling my stomach gastric juices eat my stomach walls and guess what... missing items on my flat Belgian waffle. Finally decided to eat it like that since I think I lost 25lb waiting for the food and I was going into a coma. We literally finished our dishes in 3 min. Stood up and the only quick experience was at checkout, it's a self checkout and there's always someone available. Should I come back? Maybe if I have already eaten. read more

Food, atmosphere, service is very efficient at both locations, Sarasota and today's Doral location. Usually a wait at most locations, we got lucky because today was start of school so no parents with kids lol. I had a simple waffle with berries, butter, syrup. Wife had waffle with scrambled egg, bacon. both perfectly made. There was a tasty breakfast burrito which was tempting, I opted No because we were going to dental appt's, lol. The food is great the blonde hostess is rude and when you go to pick up an order she ignores you because she discuss federal wages with a customer while you are waiting. My drink was not included and I called and order it and came to pick it up and again I wasn't greeted and asked my drink and in all her natural smugness I asked her my drink. She waited to ask someone for it and I had to ask her again if she spoke to someone but maybe had she been more focused earlier I wouldn't have to have an encounter with her. Excellent food and very friendly, attentive service from wait staff, however the apparent shortage of front line staff results in long lines/wait times both in seating and to pay. There is no distinction between the line for seating vs people waiting to pay, resulting in customer confrontations with the typical Miami : " it's all about me" crowd. (People cutting in line in front of you to pay even though they see you standing in line before them with your ticket in hand. I'm 6 feet tall and kind of hard to miss). Meanwhile Restaurant management does nothing to control the situation. Front desk Staff appear SUPER overwhelmed, and become defensive and downright rude with customers. The Bottom line: Based on the two times I've dined here, (and even though the food is really good), I would avoid this place AT ALL COST , just because of the war zone they put you through both entering and leaving the establishment. Not to mention disrespect you have to endure from both other customers and restaurant staff. It's BRUTAL folks! There is absolutely no excuse for management to allow this nonsense to persist. If they can't control the insanity....at least provide Kevlar vests ! Very pricy place to put up with this mistreatment. Overpriced for average food and bad service. Don't get me wrong. I'm more than happy to pay for awesome food and service, and when good friends of mine suggested we do breakfast at First Watch in Doral I was excited to try it. The place was packed when we arrived - usually a good sign - and we would have had a thirty minute wait if it wasn't for the fact that my friend thought ahead a made a reservation online, so it only took 5 minutes for us to be seated. Our waiter Javier got us started with coffee at $3.99. We placed our orders and there was quite a wait because it was packed. Once the food arrived it was barely warm. Each of us had different meals, and sadly three out of four of us had mistakes with our order: one got cheese vs the regular grits ordered, missing order of seasoned potatoes, brought scrambled eggs instead of ordered fried eggs, brought bacon instead of the ordered pork sausages. Missing or incorrect sides came late once the rest of the meal was eaten. Refill on coffee was also long in coming. So many mistakes on what was the first time eating at First Watch for two of us was disappointing, even after our waiter wrote and read back our orders. Each person's meal was easily $20 or well above (before tax and tip) and sadly neither the food nor the service lived up to the price. I won't be back. read more

We got here at 7:00am and sat immediately. My friend wanted biscuits and gravy but they were served with turkey sausage which he did not want. They said they didn't have any other gravy at the time. He ordered a single pancake that was warm and fell apart while eating it. I ordered a waffle with bacon & sausage. When it arrived the waffle was almost cold kind of like a toaster waffle. The bacon was cold to the touch and the pork sausage was medium warm at best. The server was nice but no refills whatsoever. So the quest to find a nice breakfast place continues since all the others have gone downhill with menu changes and cheaper sub par ingredients. There are no Waffle houses, Cracker Barrel or Perkins restaurants in Miami. Dennys, IHOP, McDonalds and the original pancake house have lost my business years ago. So the search continues. read more

I went to this location early in the morning sleepy, grouchy, jet lagged and in need of peace. Our server, Cedric, was perfect in every way. He was kind, efficient, attentive and patient. He realized I wasn't a mean customer just one trying to removed the cobwebs from my head. He got my order right even when I (barely coherent) changed my mind several times. He even handed me an extra cup of coffee to go as I left. More establishments need workers like Cedric. He changed the outlook of my day.
