This place is a total gem. I got the BLT eggs benedict and loved it!! Eggs benedict is my absolute favorite breakfast food so I've had *quite* a few of them to compare to. The service was exceptional. Our server was fast, courteous and attentive--we never had to ask her to bringanything, she always anticipated our needs or offered. The only downside to our visit was that the kitchen ran out of avocado and neglected to tell our server this, so when my friend ordered the bacon and avocado omelette and it only came out with bacon, she was a bit disappointed. Again though, our server handled it very smoothly and brought her a cup of tea (free of charge) to compensate. I'll definitely be back! This is my new favorite breakfast place in chapel hill area. The atmosphere is great and hipster like. There's a big table with high chairs if you come in a big group but usually I sit at the normal tables. The service is A+. The food is yummy! You can't go wrong here. Wife and I both had the pick 2 among 1/2 sandwich, small salad and soup. Both had the ham and Gruyere melt, which was delicious - tender ham with melted cheese and lettuce and tomato; I had the tomato basil bisque and she had the Cobb salad. While the food is good, the service could be utterly dismal at times. Be sure to check your food while taking delivery. Multiple times I have been given the wrong order or given something else other than what was ordered. The waiting staff can be rude at times as well. There have been multiple incidents experienced by yours truly and my friends where the attitude to something being remiss is very cavalier. read more

We went at 1:30 on Saturday and it was packed. We were seated at the doorway to the kitchen along a wall backing to the kitchen. The noise was horrible especially with the cook screaming his head off. The whole restaurant was loud but this was in another league. Our food was ok. My wife had a frittata and I had a ham and cheese melt sandwich. They came with a "salad" which was mixed greens plopped on the plate. Nothing else, no dressing. Service doesn't really exist. The menu is terrific the pancake was all we expected with one big problem. That was the pancake syrup--they use is log cabin they do not even use real maple syrup. I was excited to try this place out, even though the reviews are 50/50.. Granted, we went on one of the busy days.. but still, it was very loud and chaotic. We could hear all the yelling, cursing coming from their open kitchen. Most of the staff were very rude, & walking around looking flustered, not one person seemed to be happy they were there! Is it really that bad of a place to work?!? The food wasn't bad, but it just seems to be a reoccurring complaint in their reviews; Poor customer service, rude wait staff, & bad service. The website and menu make you feel as if it's local, they have some big spiel about the coffee-- it wasn't great so I did some research, it's actually one of Royal cups coffees- glad they are supporting those women but still is the quality complimentary hotel lobby coffee. The dishes are small for the price, especially the skillets. If you are looking for a good local breakfast/brunch place Bull and Bean offers counter culture coffee, maple view milk, local eggs house cured meats and house made dressings, pastries, etc. Also if you call in it's a long hold and I felt rushed to place my order with an irritated employee. What a joke. They advertise as the Best Breakfast spot in Durham. Went in this morning for the first time and ordered a pretty basic breakfast: bacon and scramble eggs. After ten minutes the order arrived. Scrambled eggs were a white and yellow collage that were not mixed at all. Waiter said he would get me more eggs: OK. While waiting for the eggs(ten minutes). I noticed that the bacon was loaded with grease. Never drained and in a puddle on the plate. The eggs arrived and looked the same. Told the waiter to just give me the check. He said not necessary that there would be no charge. What a disgusting mess. Get some cooks that know how to make something as basic as bacon and eggs. read more

Love the food. Rating is based off the service at this point. I've been to FW "every" Sunday the last month and today had my daughter bring me a to-g. I literally get the SAME exact thing each time, Farmhouse. My order has been messed up EACH time. Today was it! Ordered the farmhouse but substitute the bacon for turke sausage. Well..."no meat...at all"! Ruined the entire breakfast! My daughter called to let them know and they offered for her to "come back to get the sausage". SMH. I live almost in Roxboro. I don't know what's happened that I can't just get an order for "turk sausage instead of bacon" to be correct and again...I've been there every Sunday the last 4 weeks literally. On my third trip to the Durham restaurant, my friend and I were given the most sullen, almost hostile waiter. He grabbed menus and started toward a table, not saying a word, and that is basically the way he remained, wouldn't acknowledge us at all , totally ignored us. I was happy to have First Watch in Durham, but I doubt I will go again. I will say the one in Cary has much better service. read more

This had to be one of the worst restaurants I've ever visited for breakfast. Bacon charred, potatoes undercooked and bland also I'm convinced that the biscuits and gravy were made with dog food. Somehow they were able to make a simple BLT inedible. Everything that was ordered was just a terrible failure. All of us left almost everything on the plate, paid up and bolted. On a side note, the decor was nice and the restaurant was clean but I didn't go there to admire their Edison bulbs or wall of cast iron pans.
