I decided to treat my kid to breakfast today and we tried this place out for the first time. Huge disappointment! He ordered the French toast breakfast. They came back with 1 slice on the plate- I wonder if the scrambled eggs and sausage we're extra. From the looks of the plate- I would have been better off taking him to Denny's a few doors down and we would have both eaten for the $30 bucks I spent on this over priced plate! Went for a Saturday lunch with the family. Some of us were in the mood for salad others for a sandwich and one for breakfast so it seemed like a good fit. I'd previously visited several First Watch locations including this one for breakfast, but this was the first visit for lunch and I was excited. I wasn't prepared for how limited the lunch options were, but that's on me for not researching first. I ordered the Cobb salad, asking to substitute the Bleu cheese for feta. When the salad came it was loaded with bleu cheese, so they kindly remade it. The bacon was unlike anything I had ever had on a salad. I had high expectations because the Million Dollar Bacon at First Watch is amazing. The bacon on the salad crushed my expectations. It was like someone took the microwaveable bacon from Costco chopped it up without cooking it first and put that on the salad. It was literally chopped up cold bacon grease! Not at all appetizing. The greens were fresh and dressing and eggs were tasty. I just couldn't get past cold undercooked greasy bacon on the salad. The other selections folks at my table had were good but not remarkable. I was disappointed in this visit, because I could not help but compare it to previous breakfast experiences at First Watch. What a letdown! read more

I ordered the carrot juice along with the mini egg sandwich and the carrot cake pancake. My wife ordered the salmon frittata. Overall, really wasn't impressed. All the dishes felt like they were under seasoned or underwhelming. The pancake left me wondering what flavor I really ordered. I really couldn't connect it to a carrot cake. We were seated and offered water; nothing came. After ordering we inquired about our waters. After we ordered, people around us were seated and their food was delivered. We didn't have anything out of the ordinary. My friend's toast was not buttered so she asked for some butter but a manager (I think that's who she was) said it was buttered. My friend turned the bread over twice and there was nothing there. How about don't argue with the guest and just bring some. The food was mediocre at best. If i could leave 0 stars I would! Not only did they miss items from my order, when I called to simply receive a refund I was pushed off to reach out to doordash. I placed the order on the First Watch website and they have doordash as the delivery service. I have ordered from doordash countless times and I know what that charge shows up as. This charge was from them , and the receipt even says to call the store for order issues. When I called the 1st time to call doordash, I reached out and they told me they only handle the delivery end and since i paid for it on First Watch's site they would handle the refund. I then call them back and speak with a manager and explain what was told to me. She says she has no way of redelivering it and i told her I didn't want that just a refund. She proceeded to tell me doordash has to issue it. I asked why would they when i purchased something from them directly, it should be their system. So i let her know the receipt i have is from them i have nothing from doordash but delivery time / arrival messages as they are just delivering the food i didn't purchase it with them. At this point I feel as though they just did not want to give me a refund and I let them know that. The manager let me know if they could they would issue a refund but they dont want to be screamed at and yelled at , and I was not doing that but my voice was more stern and a little louder because im upset that this is being pawned off when it should be handled by them! I will be posting this review everywhere as I feel this was poorly handled by management, and should definitely be looked into. I feel this may not be the first time this was done! read more

Out of all the First Watch locations, this location was by far the worst. Understandably crowded on a Sunday, but the wait for food was horrible - we literally got our table a bit before 12 and didn't get our food til after 1....one hour for food is absurd. We saw multiple tables complaining and none of the workers really even acknowledged or alleviated the issues frustrating everyone. I truly believe they were extremely short staffed in the kitchen, so maybe this needs to be looked at by management to have at least a certain amount of cooks in the kitchen or revisit operations here. The crab omelet summer special and the morning meditation juice were both good and would recommend- I've been to other locations and food has been good so was looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, not sure if we'll be coming back to this location due to this bad experience here. read more

I was not yet finished eating when I had to excuse myself to the restroom. I left my receipt next to my plate, indicating that I had yet to pay for my breakfast. Upon returning from the restroom there was a new couple sitting at my table and my setting had been cleared, including my unfinished food and coffee. When I explained to the hostess what had happened I was told, "Yeah, our buzzers can be fast like that sometimes" and was still charged for my entire meal. This was might least favorite First Watch to date. I usually have this in my pocket for visitors' brunch spot if I can't think of any new places. The 3-stars is dedicated to the service - it was lacking in every way possible. I'm not sure if the waitress was on Day 1 (post-training) or ... but it was lackluster at best. We placed the same order several times which resulted in some items being brought out, the rest being forgotten completely but still on our total bill. I basically had to do a rundown of everything we ordered, what was at the table and cross-check the bill. The seating was very tight. I've sat booth-style at First Watch before butt never felt so squeezed in. Anytime something dropped (there was an infant in our party) it was a game of wiggles, bend, wiggles, bend - to pick it up. Being the person on the inside, I knew it would be a hassle if I needed to get up for the bathroom. Thankfully that wasn't an issue. I wanted to love it. I really did. I liked it but not loved. I ordered the hash with bacon and avocado and a early glow drink. The drink was bomb as hell. Like I would drink that every single day. I wanted to add a vitamin shot to it but the lady didn't give me a chance to say it she just walked off. It took absolutely forever to get our food. Oooo child finished my drink before it got there. And wasn't offered water or anything else. The food however was just blah. It needed more seasoning and the potatoes were burnt to a crisp under the eggs. I was trying to get all the bacon scraped off so I could feel like I was consuming something with flavor. They said it comes with cheese but i couldn't taste it unless it was burnt into the potatoes. The toast was great just loaded with butter. Maybe letting me put the butter on myself would have helped. Overall ok. My husband had a Waffle with eggs and bacon. He said it was just ok. He did like the strawberry preserve for the Waffle. He also ordered a mimosa which he had to pour himself lol he didn't like that lol I probably won't be back since I was only out that way for something else. JoJo!!!!!!!! We love you! Really came here on a whim. I just moved here from Ohio and my family used to always rave about how good First Watch was when I'd be in class (rude, right?). Anyway, came here to bring my little sister because she was having a very rough morning. Picked our own booth and thank the heavens we received Ms. JoJo. She is amazing. Super sweet spirit and hilarious. She let us sample some of new juices that FW had and we ended up getting them. My sister got the Kale Tonic and I got the Berry Booster. Please note they are green and purple. After we got them, a full size Morning Meditation came out and it was beautiful. Looked similar to a *** on the beach. Anywho, normally my sister eats two bites of food and is done but wow, she at the whole plate!!!! She got a wrap of some sort and I got the chorizo omelet. It wasn't really full of flavor like I hoped by reading the ingredients. It was just okay. Those potatoes though? Banger. And the toast omg. The toast is so good. After about a year of random visits, we have figured out how to manage this place. Firstly, arriving just prior to 10 AM is optimum. The main reason is the foot traffic, but also coming just prior to 10 allows one to order the cereal milk drink to put in the coffee. I'm a daily coffee drinker, but they must use Starbucks or Pike's because it is unbearable unless it has this drink poured in. The drink makes the most amazing coffee ever. I've tried a number of the items. I'd advise against the has if you have made or eaten hash at your family's home. They just throw the egg on top of whatever the "topping" is. I'd advise to get one of the omelets (I like the Market Veg, and the other one on the menu with the mushrooms). The biscuits on the biscuits and gravy were light and fluffy, but you have to want that chicken sausage cream gravy. It definitely tastes healthy. I have celiac and enjoy the GF toast here, which is the main reason we come to dine in FW. The egg sandwich was pretty good. Additionally, those lemon ricotta pancakes are yummy. The million dollar bacon is not a candied bacon so don't be fooled. They have made bacon and just drizzled some maple syrup on cayenne sprinkled bacon. The applewood is better, IMHO. It's a pretty good place. They serve a green salad with breakfast so you can pretend you are being healthy. Their non alcoholic cocktails are also yummy. I've had 2 or 3. They are worth the try. About the service: some of the waiters rock it here. Sometimes, management overworks them and gives them too many tables to manage. I've not had any bad experience with service...just sometimes, we wait. The Cereal Milk in my coffee takes care of any issues I might have had with a wait. read more

I feel like good service is few and far in between outings recently. I just want to give a huge shoutout to First Watch over on I-10 next to the HEB on Bunker Hill. What a flippin delight! To be able to go out on a Saturday morning at about 11am, get good food, get seated within five minutes, and be treated with a smile and respect from our waitress, Erica. All whilst it was suuuper busy. Shout out to Erica one time for holding it all together! The food was good too! I definitely recommend going here. I love this place. Got the Traditional Breakfast and it was like homemade. The potatoes were skillet fried with a little onion which gave them a great flavor. Sausage was good and eggs fried to perfection. The multi grain toast was so good with a nice spread of butter. The coffee too was good. The service was a little slow but taking into account they had many walk in at the same time, I had no problem waiting my turn. It was worth it. The grumblers should politely point out the deficiencies to the manager so he can talk to the cooks and wait staff about improving. Give then some time, they'll get better. Not too pleased with my first visit here. I had a good impression of the chain in general based upon my positive experiences at the San Antonio location that I've visited before. This one does not measure up. Service 1/5 - Very slow and incredibly disorganized. I can't tell you the name of the server assigned to our table because she never introduced herself or even checked on us, to my knowledge. I had to ask someone to get us water and he was nice enough to take our drink order. When HD returned with us, we told him we were ready to order and he initially said, "She'll be right with you,". Then, decided to take the order himself. Food 3/5 - The taste was ok but my pancake was cold. I sent it back and was told it takes 7-8 minutes to make another. Really? It finally came after I'd finished the rest of my food. It was fair at best. The beverages were the best part of the meal. The hot chocolate was delicious. Value 2/5 - The price point was average. First time visiting at the service was terrible! I placed a "to - go" order for a waffle. It was early Sunday morning so there was not much of a crowd. I paid (+tip) and sat down to wait. After15 or so minutes, I asked the waitress that originally took my order to check on the status of my food. After a few more minutes, she explained the manager was "on it" determining the cause of the delay. It seemed like a lot of effort for a waffle and I was creeping up on a 20 minute wait so I asked for a refund. After another few minutes and multiple staff members asking me what the issue was (I guess they noticed I had been waiting a long time), a second employee told me the food would be out shortly but If I wanted a refund, I could have the refund and the food for free. I rejected the food and some type of "comp" card they offered. A THIRD employee came to process my refund but would not provide me with a receipt of my transaction. I declined the "comp" card because I will NEVER go back. I declined the free waffle because i had serious doubts about the quality of the food after all of the confusion. There are far too many options in the Bunker Hill, Memorial City, Town & Country area to tolerate bad service! read more
